I love Natwest. Never had a single problem with them. I left HSBC as they were so useless.

Omg I could get sued for losing them customers if I tol you all of their uselessness. They were so bad that when I went into my branch to close the my account to transfer to First direct the branch manager had to ask the obligatory "and why exactly have you chosen to leave us, is there anything we can do to change your mind" I reeled off a couple of the things they had done, she just "oh yes I can understand your decision, there is not much I can do in that case". Bless her, she was quite embarrassed. To be honest though the UK banking system is a bit crazy, different people seem to contradict what others have said. NL is not much better. Though they do give kids cool presents when they opena accounts.

Bloody hell it's bucketing down here I think we are getting the weather you had yesterday. The poor kids, it's their sports day today and they said they would email whether it was cancelled this morning. At 7.30 they said it would go ahead as it was cloudy but not raining. At 8.30 I took the kids to the sports field in the pouring rain. All the teachers where trying to sort out what activities they could still do in the slosh of the sports fields while us parents where making excuses of things we needed to go do then would pop back later. Thank fully the Directeress finally saw sense and called it off. So I'm home now thinking about starting an assessment.

Indith how's your study going.

Jam how are you this morning.

Kayz I saw on FB that DD is walking, how are you feeling about that?

Right better go do some work.

Natwest Private - the only thing private is their bank managers - so private you can never get hold of them. 'Helpful Banking' my arse.

I'd never leave Natwest after all the shit I had with HSBC.

Vag, she took 5 steps and has not done it again. So maybe it was a one off fingers crossed, I'm not ready Grin

Hello, lovely ladies! Blimey, I've got 83 posts to read I see! Excellent, I'll make another coffee. Apart from usual hecticness I got ill (bronchitis plus a few extra thrills) so I have been off the radar a bit. Anyway, the good news is that I have just been told we are getting an offer letter in the post for the mortgage Smile So this means we can may off a few debts, finish off the house a bit, sort the garden, get a conservatory or convert the outbuildings...and have another baby if I have got the cojones....Not sure I have Grin Time will tell...Right, now to read the entire thread so far. Good title Vag.

ShadyLadyT · 03/07/2013 12:23

Jam, I am so so glad you are ok - was very concerned when I read up thread of your bleeding. Don't get zazzing about, Missy! You need to look after yourself.

Kayz, that is astonishing that DD is walking! DD2 was 16 or 17 months and that was early in our household Grin

Rubes, your poor eye. That is really awful! However, forgive me but I have had a little chortle at your adventures in homeopathy Grin I dutifully took arnica after my cses, when I remembered. Am not convinced it helped but who bloody knows. However, I do think you have to believe in it a bit for it work. So how is your fitness regime progressing? I see you and DB on Twitter talking about your runs. I can only boggle!

Hons, how was your meeting with your friend and his DW, the Joy Leecher? She sounds blimming awful. People who waste their lives, sitting around and criticising everyone else give me the pip. Plus, I was most amused by the thought that people who don't bf are cruel Grin I am indeed Cruella de Milk.

Arti, how is DS? Do you have just one session of Cranial Osteopathy or do you have more as needed? Do you have hols planned?

Sybs - any news on work?

Beans - not sure how it works but can you not ask for a different midwife?

A local friend is having a baby next month. She doesn't know the sex. She has two boys and really fancies a girl. I had a dream the other night and she had a baby girl in it so I wonder if my dreams will predict the future? Beans, I am thinking you are going to have a boy but that is based on nothing more than a hunch!

Banks - I banked with NatWest since I was a student, never found them very good. Changed to HSBC a few years ago and found them brilliant, but that was when I had the HSBC Premier Account. Since they demoted me to the ordinary account they are are quite crap. However, NatWest have just given us a mortgage, for which I am v grateful. Basically, I think they're much of a muchness. DP is with Barclays. Don't think much to them either.

I went to see Baz Luhrmann's Great Gatsby the other night and I really loved it. And I am a real fusspot about book adaptations.

Hooroo lady! If you like the great gatsby then I might give it a go. Have been umming & arring because I loved the book and don't want it ruined. But I do love a bit of Uncle Bazza.

It's a pretty faithful adaptation, Vag. Aside from the use of a simple framing device. It is also very well cast and just full of the usual verve and colour that you'd expect from Baz. I just loved it, could watch it all again.

Yay Lady! So pleased the mortgage came through - can't wait to see the progress on the house. Big weight off your mind I bet. And wow does that mean you are officially "trying" for #3??? I'm excited (if its what you truly want) and as I remember, you don't actually seem to need to "try" Wink
Health kick is going well (though I wish I'd started earlier)- Deids (and recently Vag) is a great mentor Grin but it's actually going to be a way of life now as I'm not going to get lazy every Winter like the normal pattern! But rather carry on now that ds will be at school and dd 3 days a week nursery, so I can manage to keep getting / then staying fit! I'm quite enjoying it. Just waiting for dh to ride (40 miles) home from work so I can go out before I have to get ready for work! It appears dh is getting back on the bike......! And gym gear packed in the overnight bag Grin

Eye is now a shade of brown and yellow. Hoping to apply loads of makeup and cover most of it. Worst part is, my head is better pretty much, so the bruising around my eye looks like something completely separate!
Yes I think Arnica and the like is not really anything other than a mind thing. Just reading a few things supports that.
Anyway, if it works for some - great Hmm and why not.

Woo hoo great news on the mortgage Lady!

I bank with Natwest and have since they gave the pigs out!!Blush Obviously they've allowed me to have a debit card since Wink

Jam glad things have calmed down for you. Take it easy!

Yes rubes I'm with you on making this a long term exercise thing. I'm doing the shred till my hols so that'll be more like 40 days. But then plan on doing something at least 4 days a week. Might try mixing in a bit is swimming when the weather cools off

I remember those pigs, DB Grin Gosh, they must have suckered in damn near every kid in Britain with those gurning china piggies.

As for #3, Rubes, it does not mean we are officially trying Grin It means I need to get my head round whether it's what I really want - or not. Trouble is, I am no further forward in my head. This is an example of how my mind swings on basically a daily basis - we have just drawn up new wills and that sets me off thinking that family is all that's important, another child would be the most precious thing in the world...Then the last couple of days, being ill, the house chaos, finding it hard to cope with the girls even though they are (for their age) really well behaved and low maintenance...feeling tired and old even on a proper night's sleep...The dreaded pregnancy insomnia which messes with my mental health...Worrying about upsetting the apple cart with the girls...so...I just don't know. Although I got pregnant easily both times I really cannot believe that the same thing would happen at 41 - would it? Although I did read a long piece in the Times on Sat, written by a fertility doctor (woman) who says that declining levels of fertility in your late 30s/very early 40s have been overstated. I would be a bit scared of having a healthy one though. Still, my granny had her last one when she was mid-late 40s (that will not be me, I hasten to add...)

Actually Kayz, like you, everyone I know with 3 (quite a few round here) seem thrilled with it. All extremely happy with their decision. Does not assuage my nagging doubts though...! (Also you are a lot younger than me Grin)

Lol, but who in the world would go on to have a 3rd child then announce anything other than it was a great decision! HmmBut of course ill be so excited if you do truly decide lady, that a 3rd is for you!! GrinGrin

Rubena · 03/07/2013 17:09

I think no matter what, once another child is in anyone's life, it could never be a regretted decision. As it'd be loved so much and every other problem fades away.....
It's making the right decision in the first place I suppose. Anyway. Rambling and don't have time to! Standing by for another preggy announcement.... [excited] !

Report
ShadyLadyT · 03/07/2013 17:15

I suppose that's true Grin I mean, once a kid is there you usually can't imagine anything else or bear to think of them unborn. Hmmm. My life feels so hectic already, though! Double hmmm. Another baby though...You see, I could go on like this forever but sooner or later I have to decide and that's it.

Report
Mckayz · 03/07/2013 17:30

I read on here once that you will never regret a child but you might always regret not having another. My aunt says she has always regretted not having another one.

You see I never doubted for a moment that two was my limit. Even if I'd had two girls that was all I wanted. I think the fact that your thinking about it really means you want 3 Grin. What does DP think or will he just go with the flow??

Kayz that is true, but my SIL had 4 & still regretted not having another! That is what I worry about, that I will have another and I will still have that feeling of wanting another. I know I will regret not having more, but I also love what we have now. I do hear what mums of three are saying though. I've heard from more than several that they felt their family was complete when no. 3 came along.

Rubes you make me giggle. Hey do you know anything about taking small musical instruments on as hand luggage? DS1's violin teacher would like us to take his violin with us to Australia so he can practice, but I wouldn't want to check it in to the hold, but we will already have the boys 2 trunki car seat back pack things & my little rolly bag thing. I should really call the airline shouldn't I?

Took DS2 to swimming & it was a watch lesson which was nice, (don't like to boast but he is the best in the class, far superior to the other children). Then did the big sprint across to DS1's basketball class. There is a kids playground at the end of the basketball court with a 4 meter high fence to protect from stray balls. Anyhoo ds2 was playing happily and I was sat on a bench near him when all of a sudden I was hit square on the cheek with a ball some kid had kicked from the bball court. He wasn't from ds1's group he was just a kid messing about and he was big. He must have kicked it so hard as even having had to go over the fence and to me who was about 20 meters from where he'd kicked it. He managed to hit me so hard he bent my glasses and has given me one hell of a headache. As you can imagine I was not amused and gave him an earful. There were several little kids in the playground and if it had hit one of them they'd have needed to go to A&E.
