Spoke to midwife, they said take it easy and keep an eye on it. If it gets worse to go to A&E where they will transfer me to the epu. Also spoke to my dsis who is a midwife she said the same.

Jam, am thinking of you. Are you ok? What's happening? X

Report
JamInMyWellies · 29/06/2013 14:04

There has been no more. So that's good but have got sort of period pain but can't decide whether I am just imagining it.

Report
Artichook · 29/06/2013 14:26

That's good news that the bleeding has stopped. Can you take paracetamol so you don't obsess about the pains? Also make sure you do rest. Will they scan you if you go to the EPU? If do I might be inclined to go.

Rubena · 29/06/2013 14:34

Oh dear Jam. Hope all is well. Id be tempted to go in anyway, for piece of mind. Is it far? Hope you're ok.
Keep us posted and sending positive thoughts that all is fine x

DeidreBarlow · 29/06/2013 14:44

Jam if its not too far and you can get someone to watch the boys can you go to the EPU? Surely they would scan you and you'd get some peace of mind x

JamInMyWellies · 29/06/2013 15:03

According to my midwife, they cant refer me as I am still under 20 wks (16wks) That I need to speak to a gp and get them to refer me or go to A&E. They and my DSIS think its because DH and I had sex this morning and thats what started it. I will see how we go for the rest of the day and if it starts again will go straight to A&E.

Report
beans37 · 29/06/2013 16:46

That's ridiculous! They'll do a scan at 6-8 weeks but not at 16??? Seems nonsense to me. Do head to A&E if you're fretting. Chin up lovely girl and do take paracetamol as Arti suggested xx

Report
sybilfaulty · 29/06/2013 19:12

In my area you self refer to EPU. I knew them all by name at one point as I went so often. If you've had sex, chances are just bruising of tissue which is engorged with extra blood flow etc. poor you. Take it easy and lots of love x

Honsandrevels · 29/06/2013 20:34

Oh Jam, lots of love to you. It is much more likely to be something innocuous at 16 weeks.

Jam, got everything crossed for you.

JamInMyWellies · 29/06/2013 22:22

Thanks everyone. There has been no more just sort if occasional sludge (sorry) when I wipe. My DSIS is coming down next wkend and is going to bring her sonic heartbeat thing to check for me.

Thanks again lovelies.

Hope you got some sleep last night Jam? How's things this morning? Any better? Hope so.

Went out for birthday supper last night with DH, which was just lovely. We had a really great time. DDs kicked off when we left, which has never happened before. I was a bit flummoxed about what to do. Luckily they calmed down a bit before we went and our sitter was lovely. They don't really know her so think they were a bit insecure. Although she is an assistant at DD2's playgroup.

All well this morning though. Phew.

Where is everyone??

Report
TheInvisibleHand · 30/06/2013 23:07

Jam - fingers crossed, glad it sounds like everything has calmed down.

Beans - sounds like a nice night.

DH and I managed to escape (for the first time ever since DD was born) to have an overnight away without the DCs. Didn't go far, just to Suffolk and had a really lovely time. We weren't gone for long but it felt like a real holiday and felt like ourselves a bit. DCs had a ball with their old nanny, who they were really happy to see and who was glad of the chance to spoil them. A good thing all round. We are so hopeless at prioritising this sort of thing - but we really should do it more often.

sounds lovely Invis, and well overdue! We plan to do a lot more of that soon!
Glad everything sort of stopped Jam, and your sister can give you some reassurance at the weekend. Nerve wracking stuff.

I had a small head injury last week which is causing a lot of inconvenience! Was taking the dog to her routine Vet appt and decided to run there - fine. Stopped to tie shoelace up near low clearance (at side) brick bridge (tow path goes under) when jogger came other direction out of blue, dog spooked and projected me into brick bridge. Massive egg instantly and bleeding, managed to call dh who was out on bike trailer doing nursery run, he only had a spare pair of ds pants with him which had to mop up with during Vet visit. Only a graze but now the internal blood has tracked south and eye is completely black and swollen and at half mast. I have to work on Wed and it's not pretty. I'd be able to cover this graze enough but can't really disguise the eye. Hoping it goes down very fast Hmm

God Rubes that sounds hideous. Glad you are ok though.

Invis that sounds lovely, I love a night away with DH it just reminds you to be you again. SO lovely.

Beans mmmm yummy food.

So am having a total nervous breakdown re bleed and although its stopped am being a bit mental. So have spoken to my lovely midwife this morning who is happy for me to pop up to the birthing unit and have a quick listen for the HB.

DeidreBarlow · 01/07/2013 09:30

Jam, I'm sure the MW can give you some reassurance. No wonder your stressing though!! Thinking if you.

Rubes your head injury sounds like its got worse not better! Really hope the eye goes down for Wednesday.

So I have my meeting at DS school later this aft. Can't be arsed but must go Hmm

Report
JamInMyWellies · 01/07/2013 11:28

I have been seen and heard the HB so all ok. There seemed to be some confusion as to why I wasn't booked in for a 16wk check anyway as I wasn't scheduled to see the midwife until 21wks. So anyway all good nothing to worry about. Thank you all for your kind words.

Artichook · 01/07/2013 11:31

I hope you have heard the HV now Jam. Thinking of you.

Rubes, you poor thing, that sounds awful. Are you in pain? Will work let you work when obviously injured?

Good luck with the school mtg Deids.

Yesterday was my birthday and we had such a lovely day. DH's work had a family fun day at a sports ground. The sun shone and there were bouncy castles, bungee trampolines, face painting, a pool, gorgeous food, a celeb tennis match which bizarrely featured the Govenor, Michael McIntyre, Andrew Strauss and a former Wimbledon champ, then a cricket match with various government ministers and famous cricketers. All very odd but fun to watch while sipping Pimms. All three kids were on top form too. It was bliss but DS making me pay today by being rather fussy. He is a tricky one is DS, I can't always work out what's wrong when he is cross.
