Sorry to hear your news Pidj

Passmethecrisps · 02/05/2013 13:55

BP maybe I should be more strict with nap times? I just don't like to interfere if she is having fun.

Poor bigpussy. It's for his own good!

Our kitty made is laugh the other day. We could hear her yowling in P's room over the intercom. I used the speaker thing to say "get out of the baby's room pussy!" We could hear her bolting out the room and into the sitting room. It was like she wanted to prove she wasn't in there!

She wasn't making us laugh this morning when she decided we should all get up at 5am. She ran in and out of both bedrooms meowing. Grr

Passmethecrisps · 02/05/2013 13:56

Oh shit and sorry about the job PP. I hate the issues that go along with internal candidates.

BigPigLittlePig · 02/05/2013 14:01

Pass I used to think that, but the 90 minute rule has been key to getting naps sorted for us. Should have listened to some of the v wise quichesters earlier on, with hindsight Blush

PurplePidjin · 02/05/2013 14:02

I wouldn't mind because they're more experienced than me - but a really abrasive character so it may well go completely tits up Sad

ValiumQueen · 02/05/2013 14:04

pass set an alarm for 1.5 hours after waking, when it goes off, bung her in her cot and leave. Let her play or yowl for a few minutes, and she will likely sleep. Worth a try. Was it really the first time in her carrycot? Or did you mean seat unit?

ChasingDaisy · 02/05/2013 14:05

Oh pidj I'm sorry to hear that.

Pass we use the 90min rule here too. Hard not too though because O gets very grouchy after this length of time. The only time he can stay awake longer is after his big afternoon nap when he can often go 3 hours until bed. However, the only night this week that he didn't have a 5pm nap was also the only night he didn't manage a 5 hour stretch. So I won't be dropping that nap just yet.

ValiumQueen · 02/05/2013 14:06

pp let the person fuck up, then get the job next time? Sorry to hear that though. Hope something even better comes up soon.

PetiteRaleuse · 02/05/2013 14:11

I work on an approx 90 minute awake time too during the day. I hate it when LO gets overtired as her screaming winds DD1 up andwhen they both get going it's horrible.

BigPigLittlePig · 02/05/2013 14:13

Bloody hell, all this sunshine is wearing F and me out. Just gone down for another nap Shock. Only teeny tiny ishoo is that stupid mummy forgot to change her nappy. So she's in the same one from 10am...fc that a) it doesn't leak and b) she doesn't discover that wet nappies are something to protest about in the next few hours.

Kyzordz · 02/05/2013 14:20

Sorry pidj :(

That's great vq!

izzy my LO is/was tricky with food but I plan on starting again at 26 weeks. How old Is your LO? My problem before we stopped was he would sometimes eat but only very sweet things, like rusk. He clamped shut and cried building to a scream and just totally refused. Very stressful for us both. No idea what'll happen if I start again and I still can't decide what to do :/ I guess some of them are hard work but my dp keeps saying you don't see kids going school still drinking bottles so they must all manage it somehow!!

stunt how on earth did you cope? I have been a mess over my LO already and he's not even six months yet. I just as pr once rightly said make a huge deal out of it and panic that his refusal now means he'll never eat!

Speaking of pr how is weaning going?

Those giving sticks of veg like courgette, do you cook it or something?

I have noticed e likes to be in control of things. I am still petrified about choking though, but I think I might have to let him have finger foods at some point even if I do feed puréed. What does one do with veg etc? Not that he'll fucking touch the stuff but still.

Today I am thankful for e, no matter how awkward he is repeats lots

Passmethecrisps · 02/05/2013 14:22

Thing is we do mostly work on 90 minutes but her naps are shorter. I will try *VQ's suggestion.

Yep - I meant the pushchair. Doh

Kyzordz · 02/05/2013 14:24

I forgot to say, I'm pretty sure it's cooked but I worry about him swallowing bits, or rather, choking on them. Yes, I realise that sounds rediculous given that the aim is to encourage them to eat.

Ugh, one of those days where I beat myself with the weaning stick, the napping stick (he's being so awkward), and the no time to do anything stick.

ValiumQueen · 02/05/2013 14:30

kyz try whacking yourself with the awesome stick!

PetiteRaleuse · 02/05/2013 14:33

It's going OK thanks kyz , though she prefers self feeding. It's going much more slowly than with DD1, who was a pig, but she seems to like most things, just spits a lot out. I'm roasting a chicken tonight so will be pureeing some and putting it in with tomorrow' puree. She had some gravy last week and loved it.

FatimaLovesBread · 02/05/2013 14:50

Arghh! Why when I have lots of jobs to do, do I have a none mapping baby?! She's normally has a couple of hours 11-1 and another 45 mins at three. So far she's had 25 minutes all day. She tired but refuses. We're going to MILs for tea too, will have to put my foot down and make sure we don't spend ages there.

Passmethecrisps · 02/05/2013 15:28

Sympathies fatima.

DH went out for a meeting. Before he left he popped p in her Jumperoo.
I went into kitchen to empty the dishwasher
dH came back as the meeting was cancelled. Walked into the kitchen passed the Jumperoo and said "is baby sleeping?"

I was all Shock! No! She was in her Jumperoo!

I was standing there thinking? Has she escaped?!

No, she hadn't. He had managed to walk right past her without realising it.

TheDetective · 02/05/2013 15:46

I'm pooped! 3 hours of baby group, walking there, and then to clinic and back home again. It is the most I've been able to do yet - about 1.5 miles I'd guess. Sounds rubbish, but it's an achievement for my fanjo!

HV was fecking useless again. Angry. So fed up :(

pidj Chin up, their loss. Took me 8 interviews to get a midwifery job in the end. But I did it, and so will you. :)

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 02/05/2013 15:47

kyz J was 26 weeks yesterday so should be wanting food you would think but nope!

Interestingly those that mentioned an intolerance. His skin was fine last few days. I had pasta and a Shit load of bread yesterday and neck has broken out....coincidence?! Or actual intolerance??

Pikz · 02/05/2013 16:23

Posting drinking coke with a sleeping baby in pub garden! Yay!

fruitpastilles · 02/05/2013 17:32

Sorry pidji Thanks

I have 1 bright red shoulder and arm from sitting in the garden today. Poor S had to wear a thin long sleeved top as I haven't got any baby sun cream I bet she was sweating, although she was in the shade most of the day. Dp had the day off and set up our new BBQ, nommed on minted lamb koftas and Chinese 5 spice chicken wings yummy!
S tried parsnip for the first time today and seemed to like it. Well she eat it anyway greedy little piggy will eat anything just like mummy

Clarella · 02/05/2013 17:41

for fucks sake. peppermint?!? Angry Angry he fucking hates it. even bloody takes the aniseed trimethoprim but he draws the line at peppermint. I tasted it. it's rank. not sure how much went in Sad Angry !

TheDetective · 02/05/2013 17:46

Just got 5oz pepti jr and 3oz LF down him. And his puree today was made with just pepti jr. Phew.

I've been sat stewing over reflux bingo with the HV. Reflux mummies... I've had 'well there does seem to be an awful lot more babies with reflux these days, and 'well he's gaining weight beautifully so there's no real problem' Angry 'oh they all seem to have some sort of intolerance these days' and the best one 'maybe he's just got used to being held and picked up all the time so he is more clingy rather than the reflux being worse'.

Head well and truly fucking banged.

I am thankful I don't take shit from people. Hmm
