I'm thankful for left-over woolly jumper, my sewing machine and naked baby time - new longies now made and I'm about to sew a rocket on the arse I'm also thankful for decaff coffee and marmite toast!

PurplePidjin · 25/04/2013 09:17

BPLP no one's started a game with me. Am impressed at Poo though. I got ass and anus against Luis

BigPigLittlePig · 25/04/2013 09:25
Blush Hopefully it cheered somebody up somewhere! Luis that was me - I am prepared to have my ass kicked.
StuntNun · 25/04/2013 09:29

LuisGarcia · 25/04/2013 09:30

Sorry bp.

fruitpastilles · 25/04/2013 09:31

Haha pig that made me laugh Grin

ChasingDaisy · 25/04/2013 09:47

sounds much like my night Lily, 5oz at 10:30 and 3oz at 3. He then woke up at 6 instead of 7. He has seemed more hungry this morning however, which was the aim. Am going to try 3oz for another two nights before I decide whether it is working. Let me know how you get on with the 2oz tonight.

I think it is today that kyzsenior gives birth. Good luck if so Smile Thanks

Just feeling blah and like a failure today. All the babies in RL that I know are sleeping through. We had a good week before jabs but they fucked it all up.

Am thinking of starting baby rice and porridge soon, made up with formula in an attempt to get more calories in him during the day.

BigPigLittlePig · 25/04/2013 09:51

chasing when people in RL ask if F is sleeping well, my standard response is "ooh she's not too bad, just up the once" (HA) - I can't be bothered to hear everyones futile advice on what I'm doing wrong so it's easier to lie.

BigPigLittlePig · 25/04/2013 09:51

Oh and can you tell by the speed of my post that I'm pinned? Again?

ChasingDaisy · 25/04/2013 09:55

pig I tend to do the same, "yeah, he's really good, only two night feeds now"

I know it isn't his fault and I don't resent him at all. I just blame myself for him not having a big appetite. I had a borderline eating disorder in the first two thirds of my pregnancy and wasn't eating huge amounts. I read that this can cause obesity in children as they are programmed from in the womb not to need much nutrition to survive and grow. His feeding pattern mimics mine in pregnancy (bar the night feeds!) and I blame myself for that, and therefore his frequent waking. He is a skinny little thing even though he is 50th centile and I feel awful for that.

I think he just needs time to grow and he will get better in time.

ChasingDaisy · 25/04/2013 09:56

....And by the speed of my reply that I am pinned too Grin

ChasingDaisy · 25/04/2013 09:57

I didn't even try and put him down today, I have a friend nd her 15month old coming round in a couple of hours so I needed to make sure he got his nap in.

BigPigLittlePig · 25/04/2013 10:01

Chasing some babies just don't eat a lot - my mum will tell anyone who listens that I never drank more than 4 or 5oz in one go, ever. Which doesn't explain why I was on the top centile line....you must try not to beat yourself up over things, I know we're all guilty of it, but you've managed to produce a lovely, healthy little boy who just so happens to be a bit of a nocturnal snacker.

WWF?? desparate for entertainment lol

fruitpastilles · 25/04/2013 10:14

pig add me hayley_85

BigPigLittlePig · 25/04/2013 10:19

fruit done.

Cat is doing well so far - trying to eat and purring. Apparently a 1 in 5 chance of intestinal sutures breaking down in the first 48 hours, so not quite out of the woods yet ignoring vets comments about chronic diarrhoea for now too

Passmethecrisps · 25/04/2013 11:02

BP I am having my ass whipped by fruit. I am DREADFUL at WWF.

chasing you didn't make O's appetite the way it is. Nature did. He is growing well and is happy. Everyone will have advice on how to 'make' a baby sleep through the night. Just remember though that if these nuggets always worked then all babies would sleep through! If you want to talk through strategies then do so on here and people will be willing and able to help and hand hold. If you don't then don't let it worry you.

I ate better during pregnancy than I ever have, p sleeps through but she grows very slowly and has a very variable appetite. Babies are weird and we are hard wired to feel responsible for their every breath.

Passmethecrisps · 25/04/2013 11:08

Good luck to kyzsnr for today! Actually, even more luck to kyz for looking after all those children! Much respect laydee!

Good luck to the staff of the medical practice VQ is attending today with J! I think they might get their asses handed to them on plates if they fuck about any more. What a bunch o fannies. Seriously though, just like with us ranitidine can give immediate relief. It is awesome stuff.

Passmethecrisps · 25/04/2013 11:10

And today I am thankful for:

DP providing me with a bacon and egg roll this morning.
Jumperoos. Nuff said
Coffee machines which make 12 cups.

PurplePidjin · 25/04/2013 11:18

The more i stress, the worse he sleeps - as evidenced yesterday when i was angry about the tax credits. Result? Won't be put down for naps and wakes 3 times in the night.

Ask yourself how often you go 12 hours with no food or drink. Not even a sip of water. And you're not tiny like a baby. I don't drink much but still wake with a raging thirst after 7+ hours sleep Why are we expecting a tiny, fragile, vulnerable baby to do better than that? R wakes, on average, twice in 11 hours over night. He can't just eat a biscuit and throw down some water like i can, he has to work hard to get his food/drink out. He sleeps exactly as he should - like a baby!

Kyzordz · 25/04/2013 11:18

Baby born via elcs 10:02 this morning, 7lb 6.5 and masses of bright red hair :) no name still but she and mum are both doing great :)

So today I am most thankful that both are safe and well, and I am thankful for the little miracle of life we've just been blessed with :) I'll post a picture on fb group when I get one :)

ValiumQueen · 25/04/2013 11:34

I am thankful my boy is 6 months old today.

I am thankful for this quiche and will channel the power when I kick the Doctors fucking arses into gear.

I am thankful for maternity pads as I am bleeding like a fucking stuck pig.

I am not quite so thankful that I am older than kyzsnr but utterly delighted that she and baby are doing well Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 25/04/2013 11:34

Oh wow Kyz - congratulations to your mum. I had no idea babies could be born with red hair (must have missed that lecture at uni Blush), can't wait to see the photo.

pass mmmm bacon and eggs, slurp slurp nom.

Passmethecrisps · 25/04/2013 11:35

Hooray kyz! Brilliant, lovely news. Looking forward to seeing pics if we are allowed.

P.s. ffers - I just called mead nutrician who make nutramigen formula - the 30 min rule is to prevent scalding only. Nothing to do with nutrients. That, I believe comes from Hipp organic which recommends formula made with water between 40-50 degrees so as nt to kill ff the probiotics

BigPigLittlePig · 25/04/2013 11:37

And pass there is a degree of ass whipping being done here too only coz I'm getting crap letters, obviously

MaMaPo · 25/04/2013 11:38

Congrats to kyz and kyzsnr on the new arrival! Glad everything went well.

Anzac Day today. Everybody eat an appropriate biscuit. My husband made a big bunch of Anzac biscuits, saying he'd take some to work and leave a load here. He left 4 here. Four! I get through that in one sitting.

Super cranky sleepy baby today. Some success napping in cot. I tried to see if she could self settle. At moments I could see her drifting off (before she pulled her dummy out or reawoke with a jump) and its like I could just glimpse the baby that all the bloody books talk about. I don't have that baby. I think she self-settled once at about 4 weeks, and never since then.

I am thankful for my husband today, even if he does woefully underestimate how many biscuits I need.
