YellowWellies · 16/04/2013 20:24

Yey Clarella!!!! We're on operation big cot tonight. Need to work on the self settling as he's still cluster feeding for 1-1.5 hours before bed Shock OK it gets him through til 4 but its driving me mad.....

PetiteRaleuse · 16/04/2013 20:25

GiRly evening in front of TV a success. DD in bed, on her own before 9pm and didn't complain once. LO now up and expecting a feed but tickling her own feet and screeching with joy right now. Then I'm done for the day. DH back tomorrow night.

TheDetective · 16/04/2013 20:28

Ahhhhh. My work for today is done.

Night of fuck all it is.

Better fucking had be!

DP back at work tomorrow after 2.5 weeks off. He has 1.5 weeks before he is off again. For 12 weeks.

There may be murder!

Clarella · 16/04/2013 20:33

lily you go girl! bloody bureaucrats.

loving the toddler tales. .am in work tomorrow, asd class I had last year operated on a toddler level while being able to spell better than me. it was both wonderful, hilarious and exhausting. there was a near scalping incident over a green pom pom when I was 7 weeks preg.

I actually haven't been at work for a year as slapped cheek hit around this time then Shock and I went loopy in the summer

we've been regressing since 12 weeks!

detective I know I bang on about it but when I went to doc over refluxy behaviour he did urine test for water infection. I wouldn't have known he was poorly with it unless I fucked up the sample

well apparently nice guidelines state wait till scans of kidneys done then go on prophylactic antibiotics if needed, however apparently a jobsworth in newcastle/gateshead decided to wack all babies and children on before scans. thanks for fucking up our sleep Mr Jobsworth.

Evilwater · 16/04/2013 20:42

I have a weekend off, and wow 599 posts!!!
Just checking in, I had a night off. Yes that's right, a night off from P and baby evil. Best the ever! I drank loads.
Baby evil was on his best behaviour, Grin. I'm more relaxed about putting him into nursery, but I still don't know which one to put him in.

Evil

Evilwater · 16/04/2013 20:44

Sorry that should be 559 posts.

Just a quick question,
Can I give Baby evil, ready break? Made up with his formula milk?

Evil

TheDetective · 16/04/2013 20:45

I've been trying to get a urine sample from him for ages Clarella!

Would you not consider following the NICE guidelines? I find them more evidence based than hospital ones which are often arse covering and written and altered following complaints etc.

I've done nothing yw! we too cluster before bed but since tt snip its got quicker to half an hour, though an hour last night. he was awake in the night last night briefly and I put the light show on and he went to sleep then - first time ever! then tonight he fed at 6 then bath at 7, feeding by 20 past, big sloppy poo (unusual but prob nystatin) so a change then was rather non plussed by boob. also didn't appear sleepy. so I put him in cot to watch lights while I mn /texted (it's a bed side cot) he looked ay my phone, looked at lights and just nodded off.

will probably never happen again.

there is a big sunshine on his wonder week chart though....

good luck with operation big cot!!

Clarella · 16/04/2013 20:55

get your self on the sleepy dust flightpath Issi n good luck!

I'm sure rest of our night will be shit anyway.

detective I'm considering it. gp mum/ friend said maybe stay off and do samples to keep an eye and best way would be to get a clean sample where he just wees and we catch it. that nappy syringe affair was dodgy imo.

kirrinIsland · 16/04/2013 20:58

N has slept for 20 minutes today. But 5 of those were in her cot! Can I count that as a positive?! She is now asleep on me, I shall attempt transfer and the I will be buggering off to bed as soon as DP gets in from work.

Congratulations on self settling miniclarella
Good luck with Op. Big Cot YW
yay for a good night off evil

PetiteRaleuse · 16/04/2013 21:16

And LO is down. Yay.

Night all.

Clarella · 16/04/2013 21:20

gah sneaky painful burp and high pitched screams. still, Dh got him down again, no boob.

tbh yw if he goes till 4 I'd stick with it - he'll naturally slowly take less when he starts to wean (or formula?) but imo you want the 'till four' bit to be a good habit. not the 2 hourly we have!

I read a thread on my lll fb page on formula and work and expressing. made me rethink how I feel about formula for us actually..the women there had found the stress of expressing for very little interferred with quality bf when they were at home and so saw formula at nursery a way to continue successful bf actually, particularly bf not as purely food but as comfort etc etc. so I think in a few weeks I'll try him with 'first tastes' of formula before we start weaning to let his tummy adapt a bit.

Catbag · 16/04/2013 21:20

evil I bought some Ready Brek for my two to try after giving them some baby porridge and realising it was just the same stuff. Unfortunately I found that it wasn't quite ground up enough? The babies have been on solids for a while now, but only very pureed stuff and they kept gagging on the Ready Brek so I chucked the bowl of it out after a few spoonfuls each. I had left it to soak in the milk for a good half an hour or so before I gave it to them too so it would be really soft. You could always try N on it and see how he goes? I've put my box back in the cupboard for another couple of weeks.

Bryzoan · 16/04/2013 21:21

Thanks for the CMPI advice YW. Am pleased Cutting dairy has helped him but not happy for me. No cheese, yoghurt or hot choc is hurting.

G finally had his last set of jabs today (v late). He is not happy. Think it could be a long night.

Welcome Issi.

ValiumQueen · 16/04/2013 21:26

detective CMPI? I know you have said you think it is lactose intolerance, but I am curious as to why that would be? Surely that would be apparent very early on, and he was about 12 weeks old was he not? It could have been secondary to the infection, but he should be fine on the LF if that is the case?

DD2 took her toy cleaning brush to bed with her and was talking to it. DH took her up. I would not have allowed such a thing.

DD1 seems fine now thankfully.

TheDetective · 16/04/2013 21:28

We still need our last jabs too Bryz. I cancelled one appt as it was in the midst of reflux hell when we had finally got him started on the LF formula. I asked them not to send an appt for the dates we were away. Of course, that is exactly when they sent the appt for. So cancelled again. Waiting for another now... gah.

I think that sounds sensible Clarella but that is just from a mum POV!

Clarella · 16/04/2013 21:29

bry I found no dairy tough. made no diff as was tongue tie issues. make sure you're taking a good bf multi vit as dairy is our main source of iodine plus you need more when bf. plus the calcium. boots own is good. also, I think I laid myself open to thrush as usually have lots of yoghurt so I'd take a probiotic with acidilliphus (sp?) in (the one that's good for thrush)

Clarella · 16/04/2013 21:32

night all

Evilwater · 16/04/2013 21:34

Thanks catbag N has been having solids for 3 weeks now. I've been looking at the baby porridge, and thinking its ready break. The thing is I don't know what's safe, and what's not.

I've manged to purée our supper for N meals tomorrow. The baby bowl was so sharp I cut my finger. Just chicken potatoes and spinach.

Evil

TheDetective · 16/04/2013 21:52

I tried him with the pepti jr and he point blank refused to take it. Confused.

Yes, he was 10 weeks when this started.

He has been on it over 4 weeks now, and this is the first time we've had this kind of behaviour without reason - one time was because I forgot just one dose of Gaviscon in his feed. The other was down to developmental leaps.

I suppose this could be another leap? He's desperately trying to roll front to back, as he frequently gets stuck like a turtle on its back. Except he is on his front. Grin

Ah, actually, I don't think it is a leap, because today he has only rolled twice (previous 2 days he has rolled easily 50 times or more), and I am fairly sure he has not wanted to because it must hurt lying on his tummy.

.

We should be back to see the consultant in a week or two, so I will go over things with her then.
