Lily I fond both mine sleep much better at night when they have had a good nap during the day. LO needs two or three naps, and DD1 needs one still.

kyz don't feel guilty we're all happy for you getting a good night :o

I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with LO's stupid cold. Mine isn't shifting, but that's fine. Reading the baby whisperer books and once this cold is gone sleep training and stage two weaning and potty training and all kinds of fun will start.

And some sun please. FFS. More pissing rain. More mud all over the floors.

BigPigLittlePig · 09/04/2013 09:26

PR did you get the dog to the vet? It's shit weather here too - drizzly, cold and damp. We have baby group later and I know that once I'm there it's good. But dragging myself out the house for a walk in this? Tricky.

Clarella · 09/04/2013 09:34

I will catch up and give dedicated Fred time laters - stunt happy birthday!! I could hug you. re read your sleep training stuff and it's given me the confidence to continue formulating my own similar plan. I can see how you've included cues etc which is exactly how I would guide our asd /adhd kids towards a goal at work. I've always said it's sort of the same for little ones but when you're in the thick of it it gets hard to see. I've been teetering on the edge of pnd and fighting it (not cos of sleep issues) but this really helps me focus and plough on as I know it will help my other stuff too.Smile Smile Smile I've just successfully got him to nap beyond the usual 40 mins with a bit of shushing as he stirred after 20. albeit on the dream genie but in the cot Smile Smile

hope you all have lovely days quiche. will catch up later Smile

belated happy birthday mm!

will put my very funny Alan alberg baby pic on fb

TheDetective · 09/04/2013 09:36

Rain here too! Baaaah!

Lily that sounds like a good idea. I do that too when we've had a bad night. Attack the day with good sleep intentions and stay in!

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 09/04/2013 09:37

Morning all, good night here too. Bed at 7pm, dream feed at 10pm then didn't here from her until 7am. Sorry to those who had shit nights, this one came out of the blue after a succession of bad nights.

I decided to feed four-hourly yesterday as the baby whisperer reckons at four months old they can go four-hourly. It worked well and she slept, not sure if this was a coincidence.

Happy birthday for yesterday stunt, sounds like you had a fab day Thanks

I'm joining slimming world on Thursday, my aim is to eat everything between now and then, starting by baking scones today.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 09/04/2013 09:40

clarella, have you read the baby whisperer book? I really advise this if you want to put a plan into action. We have very similar babies and this really works for us. She talks a lot about cues.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/04/2013 09:46

pig no the appointment is at half six. Wouldn't be able to handle the dog plus the girls on my own so DH is going to come home early and one of us will take the dog then.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/04/2013 09:51

Just checked the weather forecast. No more freezing nights. And on Sunday: sun and 20 degrees. Yay. Perfect for me. Will be whining in a month or so that it is too hot. I have missed my lovely mild spring that am used too.

BigPigLittlePig · 09/04/2013 09:53

It's hard to see Fs cues - for sleep or feeds - as her fist are in her mouth/covering her face all the time. I think I have one photo from the past 3 weeks that doesn't include fists, and shows all of her face.

My mum has just offered to pay for an osteopath for F - not sure whether for sleep, reflux, or both. No idea if it works - has anyone tried it? Mum swears by her osteopath, and my brother has been over the years and found it very helpful. I suppose nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Awwww Oscar just learned to click his tongue. DP is clicking at him, and he is doing it straight back! It's quite cute! He's quite the chatterbox squealer god help my ears with another noise to his bow!

It's really quite loud when he is doing it!

PetiteRaleuse · 09/04/2013 10:24

stunt great news!

pig no idea about osteopathy other than there are some con artists out there and can be dangerous if done wrong.

MaMaPo · 09/04/2013 10:32

Can pick the quiche's brains? My little one is 18 weeks tomorrow and her ability to stay awake during the day has plummeted. She had a 50 minute nap this morning, I got her up at 9.20am. It's now 10.30am and she's giving me all the tired signs. Is it just madly developing brain or should I rule anything else out?

Elizadoesdolittle · 09/04/2013 10:52

Oh stunt sorry, I didn't pick up on the fact it was your birthday yesterday. I only had time to do a brief skim read. Glad you had a good one and belated happy birthday wishes.

Yay to those with good nights.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/04/2013 10:53

If she is feeding ok I would make the most of it assume madly developing brains or growth spurt

Clarella · 09/04/2013 11:04

mama g is 17 and a bit and ditto..... so tired he's actually happy chilling in a sling for the first time ever!!!!!!

Clarella · 09/04/2013 11:07

toomany funnily enough I wonder if I'm sort of doing stuff from it.... ditto 4 hours, he's not been interested last 2 days unless it's been 4 hours ( in the bloody day) and I got my extended nap by shushing and head stroking. trying to do easy routine too. is that the kind of stuff?
great news on night time sleeps!

ChasingDaisy · 09/04/2013 11:42

Mama O is 19 weeks and his maximum for staying awake is 90mins, always has been. I usually get tired signs an hour after his first morning nap.

Yay stunt Grin

Not a bad night, O did 7:30-00:45-4:35-7:50 with him in bed with me from 5. Going to try and start weaning him off this in the next week or so.

Lily311 · 09/04/2013 12:02

mama O could hardly stay awake for 90 min up until this weekend. She now does 2 hours awake time than needs a nap though the first nap happens after 90 min of being awake. She is 20 weeks today.

Lily311 · 09/04/2013 12:03

Oh, and I'm packing today. Run out of brown tape. Grey's anatomy is my answer.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 09/04/2013 12:12

Good one stunt

kirrinIsland · 09/04/2013 12:31

Yay stunt Grin a birthday present from J!!

Rain here too :( Nipping out for a coffee might be the most exciting thing happening here today! I have just sorted out half my wardrobe though - got a very large charity pile building up. I am aiming for a minimalist house - which means I need to get rid of a tonne of stuff!

StuntNun · 09/04/2013 12:36

Chasing I would have had to bring J into bed with me from 5 for the past x weeks but for the last three nights he has stayed in his cot all night. He's 20 weeks so you may find O just grows out of that early morning cuddle requirement.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 09/04/2013 12:51

Thanks for all the lucks. Grin I am currently contemplating tea or coffee Hmm

I have cleared my inbox to NOTHiNG.

I am wondering why Olly has had a cold, snotty nose, snotty eye and rosy cheeks ever since he was born. Sad

Tea I think.

Miss my boys. Even my big boy who usually sits round the corner from me at work and has escaped to another office.

Happy birthday stunt Thanks

GTbaby · 09/04/2013 13:15

Have fun at work soph!
Happy bday stunt.

Hope the get together goes well and you join them VQ.

Someone was up alot. Big cuddle to you.

This is going to sound stupid but am I the only one who is finding LO more work now then a few months ago.
He WAS happy sleeping and sitting on his own playing. Now he gets bored. Grumpy when he drops a toy. Finding it alot harder to juggle house work all of a sudden. Don't know if he is got used to more attention while in India?

Put him to sleep an hour ago. Got sausage n mash on cooker/ over. Praying he stays asleep long enough for me to eat warm food Smile
