yw could give far too much advice - I am a property lawyer by trade but in short
all new windows heating systems need a building regs or self certification certificate after 2002 electric works from 2005 worth asking about as absense can slow transaction down. so notify your property lawyer when you instruct them so you they can raise enquiries and advise you!

FatimaLovesBread · 18/02/2013 12:21

Oh em gee! I've nearly missed a whole thread.

Will try catch up later but first we have baby class, wonder if M will scream through massage again Grin
Then we're off to pick a bumbo up that I won on eBay, for the sum of £5.50!!! Now M can join the bumbo gang too

Catbag · 18/02/2013 12:28

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and I absolutely luffs it. My sister had an Ipad but I rather thought it was a triumph of style over substance. She didn't have any other Apple stuff like phone or Ipod for sharing apps between, she just liked swishing the screen about and keeping up with the Jones at Durham Uni Hmm

Catbag · 18/02/2013 12:31

I should add that I can see the point if you have other Apple stuff. I have a Nokia phone so no other Android devices apart from the tablet, but it is a pretty sterling stand alone piece of kit :)

Bryzoan · 18/02/2013 12:31

Glad you finally got a bit of sleep vq - I did too in the end.

This morning has been much more chilled. Dropped dd at nursery at 9, then baby sensory with g for the first time (he loved it - kept grinning in amazement that we were actually doing something especially for him I think!) then free latte in waitrose, and just about to pick up dd.

Horsey - your day sounds nuts! I would prioritise the horseride in your shoes if the wretches didn't always try to throw me off that is.

Pass - re your sister... I was told that the reasoning behind later weaning is to avoid too much weight gain (hence I was told to wean dd early as she was tiny). Might be worth her checking before doing anything to radical.

Lovely to hear about the triplets garden - hope they continue building strength well and that the parents are surviving it all ok.

PetiteRaleuse · 18/02/2013 13:13

DD1 is going to be 2 next month. She had a shite Christmas being so ill, so really want to spoil her for her birthday. She deserves it.

horseylady · 18/02/2013 13:22

Sadly work and lambs take priority. If my mother ever turns up that is!!!!!!

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 13:33

Well, my fears were unfounded. He did 7.30-9.30 (downstairs with us) fed, straight to sleep, slept til 3.40, fed, back down til 7, fed and back down til 8.30.

Fuck a duck.

Was not expecting that! I can't believe DP had the audacity to moan at getting up at 8.30 with him!! He had 8 hours unbroken sleep, I did not! GRRRR! Men....

We've been to baby sensory too this morning Bry he loves it. He loves the other babies a little more than everything else though! He just spends all his time smiling at EVERYONE! Proper little charmer on my hands Hmm.

He's actually stayed awake all morning, happily so. Fell back to sleep at 12 with in seconds of being put in the car seat at the end of baby sensory. He's been asleep since. I think he will probably sleep another hour at least given he stayed awake so long earlier. He was ready for sleep after feeding at 10.30, but the arrival at baby sensory put that one off!

Poor DP is pissed off, I put his car on autotrader last night, and someone rang with in an hour to arrange a viewing at 11.30 today. Well, they didn't turn up, and no text or phone call to cancel. Arses. DP got himself ready and gave the car another once over, dug all the documents/recipts/service book etc out, and got everything ready for the viewing. Car actually looks pretty damn good. But alas, it is still on the drive way! Was hoping to get mine back on there today. Hmpf.

MissMummy1 · 18/02/2013 14:03

Detective I have sold 2 cars on gumtree. Both bought and collected within a day. I also bought my first car from gumtree (the fucking idiot that I am liked the colour) and spent the next 2 years and about 3k keeping it on the road. The car cost £600. I digress, I've always had success selling cars on gumtree Smile

MissMummy1 · 18/02/2013 14:04

I am half an hour early for the bus. Paranoia or what? I hate public transport. At least it's a nice day so I can sit on the harbour wall while I wait Smile

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 14:13

Is gumtree free?!

BigPigLittlePig · 18/02/2013 14:20

Just found out that the childminder can claim the cost of formula milk (for 140mls/day) every day she has LO - polar opposite of what the nursery wanted to do (ie. charge us for that) Hmm

Should get out and enjoy the sunshine but frankly can't be bothered. Having fun on the sofa with a tin of biscuits watching greys anatomy.

Glad ds behaved detective - more of the same tonight we hope!

Sophiathecheesefairy · 18/02/2013 14:28

I wrote a really long post last night which disappeared as MN was offline. Grrrrr.

There was lots of love for blonder. Lovely house gush for yw a bloody men din't understand for detective and a bit of a whine from me about general stuff.

Today's whine. I had my Mirena fitted 4 wees ago. Had some bleeding for two/three days then it stopped then two weeks later my period starts.9 days after I am still bleeding and it shows no sign of stopping. Sad actually sitting here crying because I have had about three weeks max with no bleeding since I had O at the beginning of November. I tried the pill and I just kept bleeding. I just want to get on with my life and when you have four children having to make sure you get to the loo to sort yourself out all the time is a nightmare. Apart from that I would like to get my love life back on track.

Seriously pissed off. I was frced down this route. Why couldn't they sterilise me like I wanted. Sad Sad Sad

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 14:35

Hope you enjoyed your recklessness with that banana Stunt Grin.

Congrats on the new additions Garden! Woohoo for healthy triplets.

I read what you wrote about your feeding experiences, and I have to say, my experience of looking after mums with babies on SCBU is unfortunately similar. A lot of nurses don't have the time/skills/inclination to dedicate to helping establishing breastfeeding, and doctors want to know how much and how often. It just doesn't work that way with bf, and trying to get that through to some people...well, you can probably imagine. I'm sad that that is the experience you had, but glad that you are happy with your choices now. I am too, it's how I feel now. At first I cried, then I wiped the tears off, got a grip and realised that if BF was making me unhappy, then that was not good for my baby either. I'm 100% happy with my decision now. I haven't had a single regret.

PR You do make me chortle quietly so as not to wake a sleeping baby!.

Someone else just rang about the car, and decided they didn't want to view it because it has had 6 owners. Eh? What is that about?!!

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 14:37

Yes, more of the same please BP Especially as I am on all night duty tonight! If he could see fit to go til 5, I'd be even happier! Something about 5 that makes it seem okay. 3-4, not so!

He is still asleep, since 12. Peace. Ah!

BigPigLittlePig · 18/02/2013 14:43

det little pig has done 2 nights of 9-5, tis an AMAZING feeling once I get over the "is she breathing" panic anyway

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 14:46

We had those nights around 8-10 weeks. Then he said, sleep through, I don't think soooooo! We are back to around 4-6 hour stretches. Can't complain. But I do resent being teased Grin.

The day he did 9.5 hours my jaw was on the floor!!

MissMummy1 · 18/02/2013 14:49

Gumtree is free!

I am sitting in waiting room of docs now. Another half an hour wait. Although this is technically our local surgery it is in a really rough town wedged between our village and the next town where we usually go. (same practice). Today must be junkies drug day. Sitting in the corner a wee bit terrified Confused

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 14:49

Sophia I just got my second period, after stopping bleeding around 3 weeks, then discharge stopped at 4 weeks, I waited til he was almost 10 weeks for my first period. Now I have another, 19 days later.

I think it takes a while for the body to remember what it should be doing...

Mind you, I did take the MAP 6 days ago. But saying that, I've had it in the past mid cycle, and it has never brought on an early period.

Stupid periods. Stupid hormones.

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 14:51

Ta MM have posted the ad now! Woohoo! Just keep looking at the floor. No eye contact Grin.

I've got O an appt in an hour. Must feed him now. Then he can show his puking skills off to the doctor. Didn't get an appt with the doctor mum of young babies I was hoping for. God ancient stuffy old man doctor instead. Hmm

We shall see...

Could always see the HV tomorrow maybe.

BigPigLittlePig · 18/02/2013 14:55

Perhaps O can puke on the old man doctors --tweed- suit? (torn between womanly/mum solidarity and sticking up for fellow doctor, even of the stuffy and old variety)

Have yet to have a period...have only had 3 in 3 years Grin. Expect there will be something resembling a massacre when it finally turns up.

ChunkyChicken · 18/02/2013 14:58

DD in bed. DS feeding (although been 2hrs since last feed) and then going into his cot, to hopefully sleep for a good 2 or 3hrs (hence the early feed/top-up). Is it too much to hope I'll get a couple of quiet dc-free hours to do housework watch WW, eat choc & play on my laptop?

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 15:07

Ah, see I've seen him before. I know he's of the stuffy GP variety. The kind that didn't believe in hyperemesis. As I stood vomiting in front of him.

Saying that, I did manage to persuade him to give me IM cyclizine for use at home. So he can't be that bad. I hope!

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 15:07

O still asleep. Was due feed at 2.30. Will poke and wake, seen as appt is in 40 mins. Hmm

Contradictionincarnate · 18/02/2013 15:12

Sophia sterilisation eek!! can't your dp have the snip!? that is our plan.
