I am thankful for slightly better fitting bras so that I look like I have a rib cage/semblance of a waist and my apparently now 34F norks are contained... Grin

Eee, wouldn't mind a bit of better bra fitage too.

cat re the rest of MN/support etc. Perhaps its because we've 'known' each other so long and know so much about each other, we remember that its a real, actual person behind the text and not an internet creation? Regardless, people do seem to see different opinions/choices as criticism of their choice sometimes. Not sure why...

Good morning,

I am thankful for tissues, snot suckers and vaporub

The thread was FF Vs BF and the OP wanted to know people's honest experiences. Lots of helpful contributions then one poster was a bit snide followed by one other. Then one of them picked up on the fact I said I made up bottles in advance and had a go.

I don't have it in me to let stuff wash over me. My own fault though - I should know better than to join in on certain threads

Ooooh Pass I need to know where that thread is because you CAN make bottles in advance. I can link the government guidance on the issue. It just says it is better to make each one fresh but if not to make up, rapidly cool, and store in main fridge compartment for no longer than 24 hrs. That is what we do.

Report
Passmethecrisps · 14/02/2013 09:22

Thanks detective. I just had a wee peak now and it went back on track.

There was comments about 'wonder where your priorities are' and 'ignoring the science' on the issue.

I carefully pointed out that co-sleeping also went against advice but it was largely accepted to be a way of coping with frequent night feedings.

We all do what is necessary at the end of the day.

The thread was in chat.

Anyway. One year ago today a newly married couple with a fondness for crisps were on their way to Spain where they would drink copious amounts of fizz and make a baby!

The wee man scoffing his second breakfast in my arms with the most serene expression;
The fact that just 20 days after a MC last year I was updiffed again;
My DDDH for just being amazing - and the two parcels and bunch of flowers delivered this morning (shallow emoticon);
That my wee man is lovelier than chocolate and is helping me lose weight Hmm
That DH is cooking steak tonight nom

I'm thankful that I've got a placid baby who rarely cries and likes her sleep. I'm thankful that DH is so thoughtful and caring. I'm thankful for the £100 that my parents gave me for my birthday, I enjoyed splurging it on a new watch yesterday. I'm thankful that I will now know what time B wakes in the night without having to bump around in the dark looking for my phone!

I'm thankful for our quiche, it's great catching up and hearing about your days Grin

I'm also thankful that in a house where every other member of the family has been ill, Bronwen hasn't caught a single thing since she was born. How does that work when she's the only one without an immune system?

I like thankful Thursday.

I am thankful for
DP trying very hard to keep our relationship going
Wotsits, love em
That I am going to be a first time auntie in less than 2 months

Anyone sleep deprived look away now...
DT2 (who is definitely my favourite this morning) slept from 6:30pm-6:45am!!! Hurruh!!!!! Her sister did not but managed 6:30pm-5am & 5:30am-8am! I however, couldn't sleep and was wide awake from 3am onwards. I was thinking about how torturous the first couple of months were with lack of sleep & how some nights I was only getting 1 or 2 hours sleep. Feeding both of them took so long!

I am thankful that I can now get some sleep.

I am thankful for:
L taking the new formula this morning with no quibble
L sleeping 4 hrs and then on and off till 7am
L still feeding from the breast despite all the issues we've had
DH getting me an actual dozen red roses! He always thinks I'd like something 'different'... In fact it's one day of the year I'd like the cliched romantic full shebang!
DH getting me chocolates (even though I can't eat them atm)
That I have a loving and supportive family (& ILs)
My iPhone! Keeping me in touch with all of you
The little cherub currently snoozing on my breast (L not DH)

Btw mine was conceived on either the 13th or 15th - 14th we were too tired! A wonderful surprise after a year of negative tests and lots of depressing hospital appts. Hurray for all of our beautiful babies.

garden (and cat) there was a lady waiting to see the hv yesterday with dinky little twins (6lbs) and I immediately thought of you both. She had a sort of fraught look about her, and I said congrats to her and how I was in awe as 1 was tricky enough. She woefully replied "I've never known any different" - wanted to give her a big hug (suspect her dts are not sleeping in the manner of yours, garden)

I'm thankful for this lovely quiche too, think I'd be lonely without you lot to chat to.

LO not good this morning, just had a massive screaming fit with lots of gurgling - I suspect a reflux flare up, she was inconsolable poor thing. I thought she was getting better too Hmm will have to try again with the meds

blonder so glad he took the formula ok. And glad he still likes a boobie. Hopefully life will get easier now.

J has been asleep an hour, and I have washed up, sorted all the washing into piles, rinsed the nappies and put them in the machine, played with play-dough.
, sorted dinner for tonight and am now enjoying a cup of coffee (decaf) gonna make more cookies today as they were awesome, and tidied the lounge with DD1s help.

BPLP I owe it all to my mother. She is fab and helped me get them into a fantastic routine. She stayed with us and helped out for 8 weeks, I wouldn't have known what to do had she not been here!

Well DD1 asked for some lunch. Gave 95% of it to the dog, but I suppose that's progress on not wanting any at all.

Still has a high temperature and is a real snot monster. Never seen so much snot.

I am thankful that I ate sausages last night and J is fine today so any pork intolerance worries can be forgotten.

I am very grateful that J just went to sleep in his cot holding on to my finger and is now fast asleep. I'm off to do some studying, hope he sleeps for two hours!

I like thankful Thursdays.
