When I was working abroad (developing country as opposed to western world) they used to sterilise women the day after they had their baby - you can still feel the uterus so easy to find ovaries/tubes. They used to do it under local anaesthetic with some light sedation. Such a big deal is made of it over here - I think if you know you're family's complete, it's complete. A friend of mine is 28, he has one step-daughter, he & his wife don't want any more kids but the doctors won't let him have the snip. Seems harsh.

kirrinIsland · 18/02/2013 15:41

Congratulations on the triplets garden I hope they'll be home soon xxx

I would have sworn on my life I didn't want kids at 28 Bigpig and now look at me! surveys Lego strewn living room

I got the job! I'm grinning like an idiot even though there is no one but N to see, and she doesn't care!

PurplePidjin · 18/02/2013 15:48

Kirrin YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!! ThanksWineThanks

Congratulations :o

PetiteRaleuse · 18/02/2013 15:48

My DH is having the snip soon but my GP feels sorry for him Hmm and suggested I got sterilised myself. They refused to do it during the c section but there is a new non surgical method called Essure, and in France I could insist on it (my ob gyn is in Lux so different rules and norms) Linkie: www.essure.com

I'd think about it but DH is going to have another procedure down there at the same time so he may as well get it all done at once.

PetiteRaleuse · 18/02/2013 15:55

Congratulations kirrin you must be really chuffed. Well done ! Thanks

StuntNun · 18/02/2013 16:01

Never any doubt kirrin

PurplePidjin · 18/02/2013 16:09

R woke up just as a grabbed my hook and wool Sad he had done an hour and a half though!

BigPigLittlePig · 18/02/2013 16:11

LO is talking in her sleep Hmm

ValiumQueen · 18/02/2013 16:12

YW something to consider with that house is there are only two bedrooms upstairs according to the details. There is a bathroom granted, but thinking of a growing family, you may not want your babies on a different floor to you. I have passed on a few houses for that reason.

glendathefedupwitch · 18/02/2013 16:35

afternoon ladies!!

Kirrin well done go you xx

detective hope stuffy old gp takes your word for how O is and offers some advice & good luck selling the car

sophia bleeding for that long is not fun, make sure you're getting enough iron - im on the implant and had one period like bleed lasting 5 days, fingers crossed thats it.

today dots is at childminder so ive been doing errands, collecting a bumbo off of ebay, shopping and delousing mine and dd1's hair as i found some eggs in it grrrrrrr tempted to shave our heads ala sinead o'connor style but its too bloody cold!!!

just ordered a load of retro sweets from a quarter of.com for dh's anniversary present on sunday plus some flying saucers and fish n chips for me just need to find a pretty box.

right off to get my gorgeous girl an hour early as i need cuddles and hope she needs a feed as i look like dolly parton.

Contradictionincarnate · 18/02/2013 16:38

from my reading female sterilisation is much more serious of an opp for women than men!
although I expect doing it just after birth esp a c section probably not as bad.

ChunkyChicken · 18/02/2013 16:51

Little Chick woke up Big Chick... But can't complain DD was asleep for nearly 2hrs & DS did 1.5hrs in his cot. Felt a bit bad putting him up there to self-settle, but he didn't actually cry so he can't have been upset by it.

Great stuff kirrin.

Sophiathecheesefairy · 18/02/2013 17:04

Great news kirrin

Sophiathecheesefairy · 18/02/2013 17:08

Thanks all for the reassurance I ready ready to explode.

How did it go at the Drs detective ?

PetiteRaleuse · 18/02/2013 17:20

glenda have you used them before? Are they good? When I first looked for proper midget gems they didn't deliver to France, but apparently they do now so am wondering if I can hold out til I can go to a proper sweet shop in the UK in June of if I should order online.

MissMummy1 · 18/02/2013 17:22

fucking public transport. be back later for a rant Angry Angry Angry Angry

PetiteRaleuse · 18/02/2013 17:24

Take it you didn't enjoy your bus ride?

ValiumQueen · 18/02/2013 17:52

Have car back finally. Thank goodness. Drove my mums swanky new car today and getting in mine again was like driving a tractor. I love it though.

What job is it kirrin sorry I have forgotten if you said.

ValiumQueen · 18/02/2013 17:53

Female sterilisation has same recovery period as a section. I was extra sore this time I must admit, but so glad it is done.

PetiteRaleuse · 18/02/2013 17:55

Apparently the thing I linked to above in an in out thing in one day no anaesthetic. Maybe not available on the NHS yet but is definitely available in France for free.

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 18:20

Back home! Thanks Sophia and Glenda! Dr wasn't so bad, he checked O over thoroughly, and he is happy it's just a cough.

Regarding the vomiting he said it could be reflux, but difficult to tell at the moment because he has a cough. He wants to see happens when he is better. My clever boy even displayed his vomiting skills for him Grin. And he coughed on cue!

I'm not convinced it is reflux. The fact that he vomits any time not just after feeds, and lying down makes him less sicky Confused. That and he isn't distressed by it. And it happened at 10 weeks. It's probably nothing. I just don't know what else it could be if it is??!

TheDetective · 18/02/2013 18:21

VQ where can I find info on the thing you mentioned earlier??!

MissMummy1 · 18/02/2013 18:22

Ended up waitimg 40 minutes after getting off bus in town. Fine. Turns out they stop running buses back to the village at 3.30 (fuck knows why) and we missed it by 5 sodding minutes. So I had to walk a mile to the train station, for the sake of one bloody stop. And i got charged for a ticket. A lot. Annoying as I'd bought a return for the bus Angry .

I'm angry with myself for not checking.

Matilda'a rash is infected (as suspected) so strong antibiotics then back on thurs. They hope antibs will help her hernia too but if not a decision will be made then.

Congrats kirrin!!

kirrinIsland · 18/02/2013 18:22

Thanks everyone:)

yw what VQ said. We have 2 beds upstairs and 2 down, and it is the one thing that would make me consider moving. Or possibly extending. And I love our house.
