I started it when she was about a week old, she's 11 weeks old now. B will only take a dummy at sleep time, have you tried different teats?

Contradictionincarnate · 16/02/2013 17:47

have only tried tommy tippee but two different types ... any recommendations?

BigPigLittlePig · 16/02/2013 17:53

stunt I'm sick of people saying "I think she's hungry", every time she cries. How about, she's not hungry? She is in fact fed up of being jiggled/laid flat/passed around? Snapped at dsd earlier when she said it, "I think I know when she's hungry thankyou very much" Blush I;m a moody cow

Contradictionincarnate · 16/02/2013 17:56

anyone else get this my dm says "ah mummy's starving you is she ... took me a while to click she was joking with dd"

Contradictionincarnate · 16/02/2013 17:56

Opps the quote marks should have ended at she.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 16/02/2013 18:07

B wouldn't take tommee tippee either contra, she'll only take Avent. Dd1 would only take NUK dummies, they were a bugger to replace when lost, can't buy them anywhere!

glendathefedupwitch · 16/02/2013 18:10

Contra - fortunately though sometimes unfortunately we don't have any female family other than my 86 yr old nan in mcr on either side only a dad each and my brother so I am saved the "well meaning advice", sarky comments but also have no babysitters, nanny cuddles which does upset me - you know what's best for LO x

kissyfur · 16/02/2013 18:15

Tiger you are welcome to my spare box of gaviscon if you would like it?

LO was awake from 3 til 5 this morning?! No idea why. She was doing a new squealy noise too, was quite funny really. Feeling a bit crappy today, hope I'm not coming down with the lurgy

Brockle · 16/02/2013 18:27

we follow the easy routine most of the time but this growth spurt feeding frenzy has sent it all to pot. also it only works from mid morning until bed. before that he just wants to feed and sleep. We went to the Imperial War Museum at salford what's today. really good and free. brings home the realities of war a.d the kids liked the tanks Grin and its free! science and industry museum tomorrow to fulfill DS2 s obsession with trains. also free and loads of cool experiments to do. Y's first trip of many, no doubt Smile

Brockle · 16/02/2013 18:28

salford quays not whats

Kyzordz · 16/02/2013 18:46

God I'm starving! Watching everyone eat jacket spuds but I'm feeding LO. Can't wait to get mine! Not eaten yet today bar mini eggs for breakfast

Passmethecrisps · 16/02/2013 19:27

Mmmm jacket potatoes! Yummy.

contra that reminds me of when I was in the waiting room of my GP with a hysterical P. it was immediately before she was admitted to hospital with severe reflux, CMPI and had been refusing to eat for about 12 hours. I had cried for hours as had she. We were sitting there waiting for the GP to write a referral letter to the paediatric ward and this woman comes over to coo at P. P is literally crying herself purple and hoarse and this woman is all in her face with coochy coo. Then she starts saying "is she hungry mum?" This was closely followed by "is she tired mum? Is she cold mum?" I literally couldn't open my mouth. I had no idea what was wrong with her and we were in a sodding Doctors! I fail to see that I didn't look like a woman who had cried for hours and hadn't slept.

I see her sometimes when I go in and she always comes over to paw at P. it makes me inwardly rage every time

ThankfulBagofPeacefulCats · 16/02/2013 19:33

yw I have checked and you can't change the channel manually- apparently the onboard technology scans the channels automatically and assigns the channels itself, depending on which is the least cluttered frequency. Aside from something blocking the signal (wifi stuff, mobile phones etc), I am at a bit of a loss, sorry :(

BigPigLittlePig · 16/02/2013 19:34

We had jacket potatoes, cut in half with the middles scooped out & mixed with garlic & herb philly and ham, then put back together and grilled with some cheddar on top. Lush and you can eat them with one hand

PetiteRaleuse · 16/02/2013 19:54

Dicks nuk is a german brand. I'll be going there in a few weeks to buy nappies. Do you want me to get some for you?

PetiteRaleuse · 16/02/2013 20:12

Stunt I think the growth spurt can be a week or two either side of 12 weeks, and yes, the jabs can have an effect in appetite. Or could be just that yesterday he ate less so today is catching up. Yesterday LO trouhed like a piglet, and today has on,y had half her usual amount. They're quite good at deciding how much they need.

PetiteRaleuse · 16/02/2013 20:16

Mmm jacket potatoes. I ate the duck leftovers this evening and am planning to bake a steak and guiness pie tomorrow. I love pie.

BigPigLittlePig · 16/02/2013 20:18

st ^^that

Passmethecrisps · 16/02/2013 20:19

I would like to come to your house for tea pr.

Contradictionincarnate · 16/02/2013 20:19

Mmm pass unsolicited advice soo much worse from strangers!
anyone else had people look / speak to their babies ignoring them? I had a girl late teens poke her head right into the pram then walk to join her friends... think a cursory "how old?" or "cute " comment I could cope with...getting used to that!
she joined her friends and one said is there a baby in there? what did she think I was pushing about a bag of potatoes!?

Passmethecrisps · 16/02/2013 20:21

Oh contra one of the first times I took p out in the pram I was in the supermarket and was loading the belt. Turned round to find two heads stuck in the pram! Proper nose to nose!

PetiteRaleuse · 16/02/2013 20:21

Welcome any time Pass :)

It's just a hop and a skip over the Channel :o

BigPigLittlePig · 16/02/2013 20:22

contra an old lady came up to me in a garden centre and asked if my baby was real...she and her friend had been following me (!) and debating whether she was real or a doll.

ChunkyChicken · 16/02/2013 20:45

Love my friends. Took DD & DS to the hockey club this afternoon, as DH had a match at home & on the pitch outside the clubhouse. My "BFF" (hate that phrase but ykwim) and her ILs plus other friends all make such a fuss of the dc. They play with DD, take her out to watch hockey, encourage her to play with other children, read her stories, cuddle DS, and just generally do what good relatives should do with grandchildren/nieces/nephews etc. I get to relax a bit & know that all are enjoying themselves & both dc are safe. If I have to 'endure' hockey, that's the way to do it. Shame its not a home match every wk Wink

Found out I get to keep my work laptop as they will be obsolete in the new building. So, use of an iPad whilst on ML & a free laptop? Don't mind if I do...Grin

I think the oxytocin is kicking in. I'm knackered! It seems quite quiet on here today. Hope all are well & the lack of chat means everyone has been off enjoying themselves.... Will check back in tomorrow. Night all!!

kirrinIsland · 16/02/2013 21:01

What a day. DD1 has pushed my buttons from the moment she got up, deliberately destroying things, completely ignoring when i tell her to stop doing something and acting like the sky's fallen in at the slightest problem. And N hasn't wanted me put her down for a second - not just a bit grizzly, but proper heart rending sobs :( So basically I haven't done well by either of them all day. I have reached the end of my rope this evening. And I haven't stopped eating - I'm going to be a right heifer if I carry on like this.
