vq I thought now that dots is at the cm twice a week and having more formula, my supply would be up the spout, but it seems to keep up and it's still satisfying her even though 2days she has between 8 - 14oz and in the days with me she might only have 4-7ozs at bedtime. Have u tried the fenugreek? Sorry if I'm trying to teach you to suck eggs lol -on the dexter front the last series is a bit weird and we were let down by the shite finale - hope they don't drag out another season!!

Why do the American tv company's do that? Flog dead horse series' when past they're sell by date ie medium and cancel bloody good series' just as you get into them ie lie to me, Alcatraz, the 4400.... ???

Went to f&b for breakfast -shouldn't have bothered!!! Back to bed - to watch wreck it Ralph don't ask lol and hopefully tonight ill finally get to watch breaking dawn part 2 - pls no spoilers detective but is it good?? Lol

Passmethecrisps · 16/02/2013 12:28

Good afternoon lassies,

Can I just start by doing a big G-style chest bump with kyzordz! The IG arrived in the post today. This might be of interest to those gavisconers - apparently out pharmacist reckons they will have stock a week on Thursday. tiger do you use two sachets per feed? Maybe one of the lovely ladies who has some could send some to you?

I love Saturdays. We are so lazy now. DH felt awful last night so I wasn't sure we could get much rest. Well, I was wrong! Everyone slept well and DH jumped out of bed and said "right! I am off to feed P then we are going to sainsbury's. you stay in bed - sleep or read. I'll bring you a coffee before we go." Now it is not unusual for DH to take P for her first feed but normally I find it very difficult to relax and end up just lying there worrying. Not this morning - dozed nicely then got up before they left. We plan to spend the rest of the day chilling and watching American cop shows.

P is currently in her basket struggling to fall asleep. She keeps ripping the dummy out of her mouth, grabbing the teat bit and waving it around before starting to shout because she has just realised it is not in her mouth. Whenever I go over though she gives me big smiles - she's too young to be doing that deliberately isn't she? Feels like I am being played sometimes!

Contradictionincarnate · 16/02/2013 12:35

DH just gave dd her first bottle of ff and she has not exploded or anything... Yet!
I feel a little strange though Confused

Kyzordz · 16/02/2013 12:49

It's like that here stunt, 3-6 gros seem ok, especially tesco ones, they're ever so long! Tops and bottoms and daytime things don't seem to last five minutes! His dad is 6 ft 4, and was 5 ft 10 when I met hi (we were 11!) so I did expect a tall boy but the rate of growth is phenomenal! I think I'll get a bath seat, are the sitting up style ones for when they can already sit up or from when they can sit supported? I didn't want to stick him in one if he needs to be able to sit by himself in case he hurts himself. He sits with a lovely straight back and has good head control but obv can't sit unsupported yet, he weebles over. He tries to sit up in his bouncer but when put in the bumbo style chair he can only manage 10-15 mins.

So pleased it got there passme, thought it wouldn't until Monday/Tuesday! Glad I could help :)

Contradictionincarnate · 16/02/2013 12:54

Shower change then off to gorgeous art cafe in the woods 5 mins walk away... Hope it's open...very excited.
I love Saturdays too ...

TheDetective · 16/02/2013 13:00

I'm going to my mums this evening for a feast Grin. Her husband is an awesome cook. I can't bloody wait. In not eating all day. Saving the calorie splurge for later! Just a bit worried about getting Oscar to sleep as we are usually there til 1030-11. I hope we don't end up with a screaming baby!

TheDetective · 16/02/2013 13:01

I've noticed O looks cross eyed when feeding staring at the bottle! Confused

PurplePidjin · 16/02/2013 13:40

Dp took R out for a walk and my mum came over. My Christmas decs are away, the nursery is tidy, my kitchen is clean, all my books are in order, my sewing and crochet stuff is organised, and i made fish stew from tins for lunch and am roasting half a shoulder of lamb for dinner. Very chuffed Pidjie :o

ValiumQueen · 16/02/2013 14:02

contra normal to feel funny after a bottle is given. Once baby feeds from you again you will feel better I am sure. I cried.

StuntNun · 16/02/2013 14:19

Is anyone doing the EASY routine with their DC? I haven't read the book for ages so I may be doing it all wrong but J won't do EAS (eat, activity sleep), only EAES. Any tips?

OP posts:
TheDetective · 16/02/2013 14:50

Yes, it's normal to feel odd. I did too. A couple of days later and it was second nature. I kept looking at him feeding with the bottle and feeling jealous that this plastic thing was as good as me!

I don't even think twice now :)

I'm not filling a routine Stunt we often have EASAE or EASE I'm not sure what happened to the Y. It fecked off somewhere!

I think if a baby has got themselves in to their own routine whatever that may be, it would be quite difficult to hard work to train them otherwise.

I'm happy with the semi routine we've got so I can't offer any advice really. I was more just musing. Ignore!

PetiteRaleuse · 16/02/2013 14:59

What does the Y stand for? LO's routine, though it isn't really a routine, is wake, nappy, eat, play, nappy again if play has led to poo, sleep.

BigPigLittlePig · 16/02/2013 15:06

Finally sat down and caught up with you chatterboxes! Not such a good night last night, but I was lazy yesterday and let her sleep for ages. She's just nodded off now having been up since 6.30 so hopefully it will be better tonight.

I've just ordered a load of 0-3 month clothes off ebay, I must have a short baby!

contra I blubbed when LO had her 1st bottle of ebm, god only knows what it'll be like with formula. Just blame the hormones!? I love bf, never ever thought I would, and even when it's been painful enough to make me cry and dh has been suggesting ff, I (like a proper martyr) won't give in - too stubborn, and know I'll cry Blush. Hope you enjoy the cafe!

stunt lo swings between feeding immediately on waking, and feeding to sleep Hmm The Y also seems to have vanished in our house detective

Lovely day here - dsd attempted to make us breakfast, hoovered up cereal made peg people with her, cuppa at the ILs, cheese on toast for lunch, bit of ebay, now watching a film with a sleepy baby Smile

BigPigLittlePig · 16/02/2013 15:07

pr I believe it amusingly stands for "you time"

MissMummy1 · 16/02/2013 16:15

No toddlers here but I am looking after my 15yo autistic sister this afternoon! She is lovely, we have baked a cake for my mum's birthday tomorrow, gone for a walk along the coastal path to 'look for deer and rabbits' - saw none although had a deer in the garden this morning! - and she's now cuddling a very sleepy Matilda while I catch up on here. I love spending time with her! Grin

Sophia you made me laugh earlier! I have uploaded a photo of my new hair just for you Grin !! Should really have taken one the day I got it cut when it was all styled and lovely. Can only excuse how crap I look by the fact I am only just recovering from 3 days of a horrible sickness bug Sad.

Cafe in the woods sounds lovely.

Whoever was looking for more money, have you thought about doing telephone research from home? I've sent off for an info pack, although in my head know it is madness to consider it while M is so clingy.

Umm.... can't remember what else I was going to say....

I need to start expressing again. Going to be doing 2 hours a week tutoring as of thursday. Most likely be out of the house for 3 hours. Longer if I get stuck in traffic. My mum/dp will be juggling childcare around his shifts. More of a trial to see if I can actually go back to work/keep up with a client/top up my fucking ridiculously pathetic MA. We shall see! The family are lovely and have said I can take M if need be, but I don't want to take the piss. Hmm

Contradictionincarnate · 16/02/2013 16:20

cafe closed so to the pub instead.
I felt ok when dh gave first ebm as I loved the look on his face and on dd's ... my friends and sister has given ebm to her too and I feel like its such a special thing for them.
she took pre made formula v well and cool same as ebm straight out of fridge she isn't fussy.
feel quite good now after she happily went on boob again. glad we have plan b if I get ill or something ... part of me wanted her to not want it.

Contradictionincarnate · 16/02/2013 16:22

I think Easy may be good but dd doesn't really nap in the day been. trying to feed then play at least a few times so she doesn't always feed to sleep but if she does go to sleep in the day I always feel like I can't wake her as I should enjoy the break.

daisychain76 · 16/02/2013 16:40

Not caught up yet (stupid work getting in the way of MN!) but stunt the Stockport Airraid Shelters are good for an hour or two (esp if your dcs have studied WW2). They are very close to the centre.

TheTiger · 16/02/2013 16:46

stunt it's half term in manchester next week. As for things to do, there is a lovely park near Stockport called Lyme park. I think it's national trust. Also, Trafford Centre is always good for a wander round, kids love to look at the big water fountain near John Lewis. Cheap places to eat too, Pizza Hut lunch buffet etc.

pass yes 2 sachets in every feed. I hope next Thursday is not just a rumour!

I've been shopping today with DH (to afore mentioned Trafford Centre!) and bought myself 2 lovely dresses for SIL's wedding. But I have to choose one and send one back. And the one I like the most is twice the price of the other. Hmm. We bought DS an adorable outfit and a pair of teeny red converse! So cute!

StuntNun · 16/02/2013 17:01

Brilliant idea Daisy, I have never been to the air raid shelters even though I live in Stockport for 14 years. And thanks too Tiger I must remember my new National Trust card since we pay so much for membership.

J has been feeding every hour today. Is he too old for the 12 week growth spurt at 13 weeks? Or could it be due to his injections yesterday? I'm a bit worried that he is needing to be fed to sleep or possibly combining feeds and sleep as he wakes up within minutes of finishing his feed. I hope this isn't going to cause problems with the flight as it might not be easy to feed him on demand. I wonder if he'll be like the other two, when they were babies they would be awake for all of the flight then fall asleep during descent so I had to carry a dead weight sleeping baby through the airport.

I made DH look after J while I got the packing done. You should have heard the whinging: "Why won't he go to sleep." "I'm bored of sitting here with him doing nothing." And my personal favourite, the ever hopeful "I think he's hungry." Ffs what does he think I do all day? And why shouldn't he look after his own son for a bit, why should it always be my responsibility?

misslaughalot · 16/02/2013 17:11

We have the Chicco monitor.

sorry i cant remember who was having problems but you can't change the channel they're on as its preset. I read the manual too as we're having a problem with not always having sound coming through on ours. Have emailed Chicco through their website for help, might be worth doing that too?

ValiumQueen · 16/02/2013 17:23

J is feeding hourly too stunt he is 16 weeks though so likely 4 month shit. He is falling asleep at the boob then waking as soon as I put him down. I am finding it impossible to look after him and my other two properly on my own. I need arms like Mr Tickle. DH is working this afternoon and because the car is now out of MOT he would not drive it. He will not back until 8.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 16/02/2013 17:24

We do the EASY routine stunt. I feed first, then change her nappy 15-20 mins after the feed, she generally stays awake happily for around 1-1.5hrs. As soon as she starts yawning/rubbing her eyes I swaddle her, put the dummy in and put her in the cot in her room. I always put her down awake and just walk away and go downstairs. She falls asleep on her own and generally sleeps for 1-1.5 hours. She sometimes wakes after 30-45 mins but I just put her dummy back in and she goes back to sleep. I've always done this so she she knows the routine, it would probably take a few days to train your LO into it.

Contradictionincarnate · 16/02/2013 17:36

dicks have you always done the routine if not when did you start? how old is your lo.
sounds good you can put her down... my dd won't take a dummy though.
