She's 5. I've phoned the surgery and the doctor is going to call and give a telephone consultation. She seems fine most of the time, just really snotty. Just don't know what is causing the constant high temp.

I think I might make the righteous mac and cheese ala PR, we need some comfort food in this house.

PetiteRaleuse · 15/02/2013 18:00

I hope you enjoy it, and are reassured by the consult :)

ValiumQueen · 15/02/2013 18:18

dicks likely flu. I would give paracetamol and Brufen piggy back, so one or other every 4 hours. Maximum 3 doses Brufen in any 24 hour period, and max 4 doses PCM in any 24 hours. Make sure she stays hydrated. If no wee for 12 hours I would be concerned, no wee for 24 hours I would be at A&E. if vomiting and/or diarrhoes, give dioralite. Unlikely to have febrile convulsions age 5. Any rash that does not disappear with a glass, and I would be at A&E. lollies are a good way of getting fluid in a sick 5 yo. Hope she is soon better.

Failed MOT. Need new tyre and light needs fixing so not too bad.

Contradictionincarnate · 15/02/2013 18:20

Off to have a nap whilst DH plays with dd [aside:gets farted on]

Dd seems to have painful farts not constipated though had a lot when first born but seemed to have gone could it have been from me eating eggs?

Tempted by a glass of wine with fajitas later but think even the smallest glass may knock me out after only 5hours kip!

BigPigLittlePig · 15/02/2013 19:00

dicks I hope your dd picks up soon. There seems to be lots of poorly bubbas on here lately Sad.

kirrin fc interview went well.

We spent the afternoon at our friends today, but LO screamed the whole time she was there unless she had a boob in her mouth. It's happened every time we've been Confused, all I can think is that their house is too echoey/loud for her. Unfortunate, as they are going to be dds godparents.

Does anyone else get bidding rage on ebay? Some fucker outbid me with seconds to go Angry Gah, I'm getting ragey just thinking about it.

TheDetective · 15/02/2013 19:29

Wow, what a quiet day! Only took me 10 minutes to catch up! You must have all taken my warning very seriously Grin.

Every wish you hadn't bothered getting out of bed this morning? Yeah. That's me today. Everything and everyone has peed me off. Even Oscar. Blush Who decided to have a full blown screaming fit in a cafe, where I was trying to feed him because he was a)screaming to be fed, and b) due a feed. Except he was going mental at the bottle, mental at every way I held him. He took the feed eventually over 40 minutes, but the only time he was happy was when I stood him on the table Confused. So basically, I didn't get to eat. My food went cold, and my mood did too!

He's fine, no temp, seems okay in general. Just annoyed at everyone!

Hello 12 weeks I guess! Grumpy git! He's just awake from a 4 hour 'nap', and now he's just vomited a foot in the air while feeding, and it's all over DP who is doing the feed. Hmm

DS1 has no girlfriend now. Thank fuck. Fastest get together and break up in history. Grin However he has had a full on shouty strop. He has never ever behaved like this. I totally didn't know how to deal with it, because I never have had to deal with it... Guess I'm going to have to work out hormonal tweenagers and fast.

MM We have a lovely example of a Skoda Swamp Fabia for sale. Only £800. Bargain. Grin DP has cleaned it to with in an inch of its life. He didn't stop when it went dark. Oh no, he t-cutted it in the dark. By light of mobile. Hmm Oh, and at least you aren't turning up the radio to drown out baby screaming....

TooMany and VQ Good news on the MOT front! I hope mine does as well. Anything less than £100 and I will be very grateful! Mind you, I might have to wait for its MOT, as the cunt man who drove in to the back of it back in October has pissed me around over paying for the repair, and now I told him I've booked it in, has decided to go through the frigging insurance. So now it is going to be collected and I'll get a hire car (I hate hire cars) and have to pay the fucking excess until he declares he is liable.

Not a happy detective today!

Kirrin Glad the interview went well. I hate it when employers make you wait. It seems so bloody unfair.

Dicks Sensible advice from VQ. Hope DD improves quickly. I know what you mean, I never know when I should take them to the Drs. As it is, until recently, my GP did not know us. They do now. Hmm

For the Gavisconers - that is shit. What are they proposing to do in the meanwhile? They can't leave babies untreated. Surely?

Anyone else start swearing in their head out loud at traffic lights, or anyone that holds them up in the car, because you know slowing or stopping the car will ensure screaming from the baby? I hate it. He always screams when in the car seat, the only thing to calm him is once we are moving in the car. But it takes 2/3 minutes of driving before he calms completely, so every time there are lights I find myself getting mad at them if I have to stop. Blush

TheDetective · 15/02/2013 19:42

I can't crouch. It hurts right at the front around the urethral opening. Also hurts the epis site, but mostly my peeing bits. Confused

So if I am sat on the sofa, and Oscar is on the floor, I can't bend down or crouch to him, I have to get on the actual floor. Which also hurts, but not as much as crouching.

Anyone else? No? Just me then.... :(

kissyfur · 15/02/2013 19:44

Evening all, LO less sleepy today, and a bit happier. I've been giving her the ranitidine so guess that must be helping. Does anyone know what the shelf life of it is? It doesn't say on myths bottle Confused

Pass I still have the spare box of gaviscon if u want that one too

kissyfur · 15/02/2013 19:44

My bottle, not myths!

BigPigLittlePig · 15/02/2013 19:46

kissy our bottle said to discard after 5 days...and keep in the fridge.

StuntNun · 15/02/2013 19:47

Kyz the risk of bacterial contamination of formula depends on the method of production. It could be that the milk you're using is produced by a different method and/or is manufactured to be sterile and/or is tested for bacteria as part of quality control.

Teething can produce strange nappies Pass. Look for red cheeks, dribbling and chomping as well.

BPLP you can get apps to enter your bid in the last few seconds on eBay to reduce the risk of being outbid. I haven't used one but they're quite commonly used.

I have been packing today for a week at my mum and dad's (J's first time meeting his granddad and two uncles). DS1 and DS2 are sharing one suitcase. J and me were suppose to be sharing the other suitcase but his stuff has filled it. Bugger. There's no way I can manage three suitcases.

stunt I don't have a fancy phone . Am currently poised ready to gazump someone in revenge if I'm successful

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 15/02/2013 19:52

Thanks for the advice VQ, the doctor called after I read your post and said the exact same thing. Just shows how good the advice is on this thread!

Sorry about your sore bits detective, I had an episiotomy first time around, it took ages to heal, far longer than my ceasarean wound. I just remember sitting in a shallow saltwater bath for weeks. I had hard scar tissue for a long time after too, it's fine now though.

ChunkyChicken · 15/02/2013 19:55

detective DS only stops crying on the move if he's in that sort of mood so know what you mean.

horsey I'm fairly sure its not a special formula. He's only 6wo, & been on formula since 1wk I think, so I'm sure she'd have mentioned it if it wasn't 'standard'.

Die Hard is hilarious although not intentionally Grin

DS has been really sicky today, with about 5 changes this morning. Now, given I had for dinner last night; champagne, Chinese (inc spicy stuff), raspberry trifle, its hard to work out the trigger :( I also had egg sandwiches again at lunch yesterday, which do see to cause wind (so snap contra).

Elizadoesdolittle · 15/02/2013 20:09

Just a quickie as need to get DD1 to bed. Had a great day at kidSpace and she's absolutely wiped out!

pass I have some infant gaviscon too if you need it. I was prescribed some but have never given it to E as I'm not sure that was what she needed. Think they gave it to me in the hope I'd shut up and go away! Anyway I guess I probably have around 20 sachets so not loads but they are yours if you need them. PM me your address if you do.

toomany hope your DD feels better.

Fed up of vomit. Surely is has to be the teats? But he won't take the number 2 ones. Fucksake its dangerous taking him out. He voms randomly at any time, and it's not like I can take a spare snowsuit/coat/blankets/ or even a fecking spare car seat. Bibs/dribble bibs don't contain it.

Hope he stops soon. Btw being upright makes it worse believe it or not :/

Passmethecrisps · 15/02/2013 20:44

Ladies I am overwhelmed by the gaviscon love. Who else uses it? I don't want to snaffle them all if there is anyone else who needs them. The wonderful Kyz has posted out 4 boxes to me so including the box I have there is a month's worth. I would really hope it is sorted in a month.

detective te hospital told my doc to get me to use less in a day or split sachets between two feeds. There is a formula thickener - carobel - which they can give if all else fails. Given p's touchy tummy I am not keen.

Stunt red cheeks - check, dribbling - check.

Excellent news kissy. Not much more worrying then!!

Talking about worrying . . . P has barely eaten anything today. She has only one feed left of today and she has only eaten 11oz. For her weight she should be hitting more like 25oz in a day. Her appetite has been a bit off the last week but nothing disastrous. Generally she seem okay in herself - peeing, pooing, smiling and so on. She has maybe been a little tiny but more grizzly and certainly sleepy.

I keep repeating the mantra - if I was BF I wouldn't know how much she had eaten.

Bad news on the Mot VQ. Could have been worse though.

PetiteRaleuse · 15/02/2013 20:49

I'm going to the pharmacy tomorrow. I can check if they have baby gaviscon here. Let me know and I can pick some up buy them out

LO sleeping. DH doing bedtime for DD1, have settled down to the new Dexter, first two episodes, with a Martini. Bliss.

PetiteRaleuse · 15/02/2013 20:51

DD1 has had a just in case dose of paracetamol before bed, but I think the worst is over. Fuckwit bastard dickhead flu. Sorry. It's the martini.

BigPigLittlePig · 15/02/2013 21:04

pr I think you can allow yourself the odd swear word given the degree of shit you've had lately. Enjoy your martini Grin

ValiumQueen · 15/02/2013 21:08

Is new dexter on over here? I can barely type I am so excited at the thought.

Sat DS in bumbo and lovely and upright this time. He got bored quickly so I lifted him out. Or at least I tried to. Bumbo came with him. I blame the cloth nappy. Nothing to do with his fat thighs.

Just lost the plot and screamed at DH that I have no fucking life. He has been at work all day granted, but thinks once home he can do fuck all. He is annoyed about the car. I have arranged for my mum to take him to work monday. It is not my fucking fault. And I would like a say in what we watch after a day of peppa fucking pig. Oops. Clearly I need a good shag.

ValiumQueen · 15/02/2013 21:11

Sorry for the rant.

Also fed up of feeding an octopus. Sterilised a bottle but did not have the heart to use it.

Sorry about further rant.

YellowWellies · 15/02/2013 21:19

Just sent DH to the pub with DBIL and my cousin - they're all Daddies of under-3s so should have a good blether - am wondering when the SAHM pub trip is. I fear its nonexistent like the SAHM Christmas party....

Yawn walked 7 miles today and 8 yesterday, with the buggy, my legs tonight would def fail an MOT. With a dairy free diet and that much exercise (have walked a min of 5 miles each day) and breastfeeding I do hope my weight loss is quicker than the 1-2lb a week so far.... Yes I know slow is sustainable but with a diet devoid of all fun foods I'd like to at least see the sodding benefit Envy

GTbaby · 15/02/2013 21:22

Knacked in bed. Perfect dexter watching time. But I CBA. Hmm Need a shower. Eye brows r caterpillars. My legs haven't been waxed since week before LO was born. Feel gross. And it's just going to get worse right.

2 weeks till India. Nothing packed. Nothing bought. Need to do a big tesco shop for formula (7boxs) all the different medicine I can think of (any ideas beyond calpol and teething gell and crystals appreciated)

Can't use insect repellent Hmmso will be bitten to hell.

Argh. Stupid trip to India.
