I feed him out. He spends a lot if time breaking from eating and smiling. He does that at home too though!!

stunt my cousin is coeliac and was very, very poorly as a baby when weaned (before the diagnosis). She was hospitalised. Along with her my family on both parents' side seem to have a lot if digestion and intolerance issues. My mum weaned me and my little brother on a gluten free diet when we were younger as gluten is a main offender. She's advised I do the same so will be doing. It's just to avoid any unnecessary digestive issues at such a young age and to give the system chance to really mature so if there is an intolerance it can better deal with it with or without treatment.

Plus these things are hard to diagnose. So if she has a gluten free diet and then gluten introduced and problems start it may be easier to assess the situation.

Catbag - M is 12lb and only just gone into the size 3s this weekend. It must depend onthe baby's shape and the brand of nappies.

The tommee tippee starter kit was such a great buy. Cost us £59.99 and had loads and loads of stuff in it. For having to give up on BF it was great to already have all the kit there - steam steriliser, microwave steriliser, 2 lots of teats of each size, 2 insulated bottle bags, various bottles, bottle caps, powder measures and so on.

I think we will gradually replace all our teats over the next few weeks and replace them with size 3s. The nutramigen formula reaks and the smell just won't come out the teats - they smell rancid.

I have a baby sleeping on my knee again! What is going on? She has barely been awake today. I was completely exhausted yesterday and then today have been feeling horrid.

The cat has joined the pile as well.

Ok, getting a bit freaked out. Is this normal 12wo/post growth spurt behaviour? A went 4+hrs earlier from start of feed to feed at lunch, & now we're on 4hrs 22mins and counting. And most of that has been asleep. I'm in for a shit night aren't I??!!!

Will try again next week or try a different bottle if it's not working. Mam might be worth me looking at as they do 330ml bottles. Which considering he's having 9oz at two feeds now I might need it!

chunky I've just watched call the midwife too. Not as bad as last week's sobfest!

Teats: I am using size 2 Dr Brown's ut he has started messing with his feeds so I am wondering whether to go up to size 3s. Anyone else using Dr B's? His milk has gaviscon in so it's a bit thicker than normal C&G.

Nappies: just moved into size 4 pampers, after several poo explosions in size 3s. The size 4s are 15 - 40lbs, which seems like a huge weight range! He is 15+4 now and 15 pounds 5oz last week! That's between 50th and 75th centile. He's 75th centile for height. My big boy!

I'm trying to implement a 'routine' of 6 feeds between 7am and 11pm, but he's still waking up at 3-4 ish for another one. I think because he only takes 3-4 ounces for a couple of his daytime feeds. Doing a bedtime routine of bath, massage, feed. Just hoping for a lovely 6 hour stretch of sleep any day now!

congrats Mr vq passing driving test is on my to do! ... I started learning 15 years ago and bother with trains yesterday just makes me want to do it more when I started lessons again 6 years ago and dh passed I gave up...wish it wasn't so expensive.
been in bed mist of day with dd who would not sleep and started wailing at 4.30 come my tears ... thoughts I'm a bad mum etc ... and worked out after an hour she was bored ... and wanted to play!
dh home now so nap then blitz house 7 mins per room downstairs ... lucky its not a big house ...

I'm v interested in intolerance etc I have suffered with IBS for 10 years!

It's hard to find gluten free things now, lots of foods had to change their gluten free status due to stricter EU regs or something. Lots if gluten fee foods were actually found not to met the right standards. I've found cow & gate to have a fair bit, Ella's kitchen and Organix too (if you but this stuff to start off with). Heinz not so much! Obviously fresh fruit and veg is gluten free.

Congratulations ValiumKing ! DH (35) passed his while I was pg. 3rd time. He had always said he would learn before we started a family but it was only when he needed to get his licence for his job. It's not easy to learn when you're older I think so jolly well done.

We are in size 1 Pampers and TotsBots Teenyfits. And 0-3 clothes. And size 2 teats.

Eliza how is E doing? L has come on since I started the top ups and put on 230g this week so we are back on the 0.4 line woo hoo!

Chunky (was it chunky?) I think you have to have the jabs a minimum of 4 weeks apart so you can't have them early.

Dottie is in size 2 nappies at night and several size 1's during the day cos they keep appearing all over the house we'll be ok for size 3's for a while as we were given a nappy cake and there's blumming hundreds of them all rolled up!!!

We have avent bottles with size 2 teats and tomee tippee bottles with size one cos I keep forgetting to buy the next ones up

We had a fab time in Manchester and Dottie was soooooo good and everyone fell in love with her lol and she was amazing on the drive there and back bless her!!!

Got a study day at work tomorrow - its just recapping obstetric emergencies, safe guarding, infant feeding and documentation so Dottie is spending her first day with the childminder eeeeeeeek!!! Hope I've got everything she'll need!!!!

Does anyone else's LO refuse to lie/recline in your arms?? Dottie has to be upright and facing forwards. I think she's going to be like Tallulah and refuse cuddles and general soppiness unless it's at her request lol

She's still doing 3/4 poos a day and they're v wet and runny and of varying hues of brown lol wish she would go back to once every four days!!! She's still very very dribbly could this be making her poo this often??

Back at work now . Had to go into city and teach a group on Saturday. First time leaving H for so long (6 hours). Sat down on train home and realised there?d been, ahem, rather a lot of leakage resulting in a very large, very noticeable damp patch on my top (breast pads had slipped). Really hoping it happened after l?d left my students

Glenda I am a childminder and this is what I would want if I were going to be looking after your DD.

Nappies
Wipes
2 or 3 Muslins
Change of clothes (including 3 or so vests)
Bottles (I usually ask for 2)
Comforter (is she has one)
A couple of bibs
Expressed milk (I order what ever formula the child takes, this come from their free milk entitlement.

I usually keep these in the playroom. Each child has their own storage box & place to hand their coat. I ask parents to replace nappies & wipes when they running low. I also keep the other items and wash them as needed.

LO has temp of 39.2. Have given her paracetamol and stripped her down to vest. She's not eating brilliantly but is eating. Could it be linked to last Thursday's jabs? Whimpering a bit and breathing quite fast but doesn't seem to be struggling to breathe iyswim. Crap. Crap. Crap.

I spoke to my mat cover person today to see if she can cover me an additional month as I realised going back at 6 months will be just as weaning and clinginess starts. Yet to start negotiations on part time/job sharing.

PR sorry but I would have expected a temp from jabs to come up within 24 hrs.

She's also a little droolier than usual. Blowing bubbles iyswim. Oh well. Will see how she goes and take her to the Dr if necessary tomorrow :(
