I'm back at work now after a lovely 2 weeks off for the move. Admittedly only mornings still, and only 6 weeks until leave, then maternity leave but I did enjoy my time off. I'm now busy making curtains for the house - M's room is done and I'm currently on our bedroom.

Am still loving the new place - and having a garden. M is beginning to learn about birds and other wildlife :)

DH got a job today! V relieved! I want to shop for sofas now though...

S fell again today. Another gash to the head. I should have taken him to hosp but I took him to the nurse at docs thinking she would send me to hospif she thought it was bad. She put sterile strips on but I'm now thinking it needed stitches

Pud was a PITA. Perfect ceph LOA but couldn't get the NT measurement. Have to go back again Tuesday to see if we can get it right this time. Any tips?

Poor S Kitty When DS was 3 he came off a scooter and gashed his forehead open on a concrete wall at preschool. (He still had the scar slap bang in the centre of his forehead). No stitches, A & E used glue and the sterile strips and it was pretty deep.

Nom Good Luck. Sorry I can offer no tips as I had to go back for the same reason with DD. They failed to get it the 2nd time too. I seem to recall I was then offered the option of an internal exam to get the measurement but I declined it as didn't think it was worth the risk. Hope your teat tempt is more successful.

I would imagine steri-strips are best because the lo would have to stay very still to stitch. I hope he's ok kitty. Both of my boys are constantly covered in cuts, bruises, and grazes. I don't think a week passes without me having to sign the accident book at pre school.

I think ds3 might have chicken pox. He's had about 10 or so spots come out today, so we'll see what the morning brings. Ds2 hasn't had it yet, so if ds3 has had it no doubt ds2 will be spotty shortly.

Can't help you there Nom as I haven't opted for nuchal measurements. Did the sonographer ask you to move round on the bed? I remember being scanned while on all fours.

Don't drink too much. I was told to empty my bladder the third time. Also been told a can of coke and a mars bar helps! Good luck.

Morning all. I am WFH this morning (so MNing, obvs). Got woken up by J at 5.30 this morning. Went in to find her sitting up, pressed as far into the corner as she could to avoid the big pile of sick in the middle of her cot. It was quite dry and (TMI) full of entire slices of mushrooms she hadn't chewed or digested at all so my best guess is she had an indigestion vomit quite soon after we put her to bed. She seemed perfectly cheerful this morning and, after a bath, wolfed two bowls of ceral and a handful of tomatoes, and kept it down for the next 45 minutes until the childminder assistant arrived to pick her up at 7 (now we have moved the childminder does PICKUPS. It is AWESOME!). I'm feeling slightly guilty for sending her off in case she makes the other kids sick but I don't think she has a stomach bug - she's visibly poorly when she does, and she wouldn't have kept her breakfast down. Right? Or am I that awful mum who makes everyone else's kid sick? I did tell the CM assistant what I told you, and wrote it on her form, so I haven't lied...

I've finally talked to the cm about preschool etc. she's a legend! She's busy studying for her diploma so that she can be accredited to do the 15hrs funded thing (I can't remember the official phrase). She basically said I should stop panicking, F should be able to stay with her till (and beyond) primary school, and if it appears that he'd benefit from some preschool hours then we should worry about that then.

I'm finding it hard to imagine him being ready for sitting down classroom type stuff anytime soon anyway (I know things will be different in 12-18mo). And I think I'm happier knowing he's "at home" in a family setting while he's really little.

Does that sound like a plan? Or will he be an untrained unteachable terror in primary school?!

Ante-preschool (when they are three) isn't like a school setting. It's more like a play group but a little more structured. Then, at least up here, they do a year in preschool nursery (is that what englanders call reception) before P1 at the age of five. Although the nursery year here is only half days m-f. It's such I minefield. I just did what my cm told me!
