Thank you daisy. The anti d explanation is v helpful too.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 31/05/2013 09:32

Hugs Kitty.
Never worry about your posts being about you, that's what this place is for.

I can't speak from personal experience (fortunately*), but I have several friends with the whole range of mh issues. ADs seem to work wonders in terms of stabilisation and giving yourself a chance to make other changes, but talking therapies are what can really change things in the long term. Do push for a referral, do talk to dh, friends and family as much as you can. We all need to talk about mh and well being.

And even when things are getting better, keep talking. If nothing else, we are listening.

Congratulations on the house moves and renovations. I'm very jealous of bi fold doors!

(* actually, in hindsight, I do seem to get a bit of health anxiety when things get stressful. Hmm)

Been doc. Post natal depression. Anti depressants.fluoxetine 20mg. Going back to see him in two weeks so he can make sure I've no side effects and that hv is looking after me. He was wonderful, only works Wednesdays annoyingly. That's a workday!

Daisy17 · 31/05/2013 10:44

Hurrah for lovely doctors and well done, Kitty, it's so brave to go for help. Fingers crossed. And remember that taking time off to see the right doctor for you is just as valid a use of sick leave as the flu. X.

Daisy17 · 31/05/2013 10:49

Just off to dentist. Sad Thirty five years with no fillings, I have a baby ........ Third one in two years! Bah!

GlaikitFizzog · 31/05/2013 13:37

Another thing we have in common now kitty, I wish we didn't but the ads have helped me. (((Hugs)))

Kittycatcat · 31/05/2013 15:43

Thank you all.

NomDeClavier · 31/05/2013 15:45

Depression is a real, physical thing. Even if you can't see it and the symptoms are 'in your head' it is there, and ADs can help. Equally because people can't see it they have a hard time accepting it. Thinking of you both.

Much dental sympathy daisy. Isn't the saying that you lose a tooth per child or something?

GlaikitFizzog · 01/06/2013 09:01

Every day this week b has been up before 3 am for the day. Dh and I have had about 10 hours sleep all week. I've been working overtime. Work is so stressful. Me and dh an barely look a each other.

Can we put the sides back o. His cot? We can't take this moch more.

NomDeClavier · 01/06/2013 09:23

Oh gosh :( he must be shattered too! So you think he would go back to sleep if the bars were on?

I feel pathetically grateful that DS at 1am just decided it was time to come in with me when I went to see him and led me back to bed!

GlaikitFizzog · 01/06/2013 09:35

He's not because he is sleeping at the CM.

I don't know tbh, it could just be a coincidence, but the early waking and refusal to go back to bed have all started when the sides went.

Before he went to bed without a peep. We did story time and milk downstairs, brush teeth, cot, music, night night. And the nothing until the morning.

Now it's milkdownstairs with in the night garden, teethm story, anything been one and six stories. Lamp off, night light on, cuddles, stroking, slowly backing out of room sing twinkle twinkle. Going slowly and having to stop if he deems ot too fast. Any deviation results In screaming.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 01/06/2013 12:10

Thanks everyone (((big hugs all round)))

Fizz - definitely put the sides back on. DS1 was nearly 3 before he was in a bed, there is no hurry. We wouldn't have moved T if he hadn't been able and willing to climb out.

GreenFirefly · 01/06/2013 19:08

And just when I was thinking we'd got away without any public meltdowns... we decide to got for an Italian round the corner. Order pasta for M but she wants our pizzas which are far too hot. While trying to cool them down she has meltdown :(

GlaikitFizzog · 01/06/2013 19:42

Sides back on! Fingers crossed it works. Although, even in my sleep deprived state today looking like the proverbial half shut knife, I got IDd in Morrisons buying Wine! Think the cashier was just trying to cheer me up!

GlaikitFizzog · 02/06/2013 06:59

7.30-6.40 we have fixed him!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 02/06/2013 07:26

Good news fizz Grin

It reinforces that ds3's cot sides are staying firmly on. He would defo arse about and get out of bed at stupid o'clock if he was able. Although actually he is able to get out of his cot, he just doesn't - long may that remain!

Today I am suffering from a cold, hay fever and period pain - I think that's a bit unfair tbh

Enjoy the rest of the weekend ladies Grin

Kittycatcat · 02/06/2013 08:08

Whoop fizz

Not so whoop ilikeHmm

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 02/06/2013 12:20

Get ready to say "I told you so"; I've just put the sides back on the cot too!

(Not sure how I'll feel if this fixes things after 3 months of trying)

When your four year old nephew tells you he thinks you're having another baby Angry

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 02/06/2013 20:49

Oh dear, how rude. I've seen your pics, Kitty, and you've got nothing to worry about!

Cot went down reasonably well. Asleep by 8:30, which is normal-good for him, but waaaay less stressful for us!

OP posts:
GlaikitFizzog · 02/06/2013 21:23

I'd say, no I'm not, that's just next doors boy. I ate him for breakfast! Kitty, you have nothing to worry about, and little nephew needs to keep opinions to himself!

Cot a hit again here!

Kittycatcat · 02/06/2013 22:07

Yay to sleeping toddlers. Doesn't matter how as long as it works and is less stressfulGrin

Thanks for being nice but I do need to shift it. People are looking at my tummy when they ask if I'm going to have any more.Confused

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 02/06/2013 23:47

People look at women's bellies whatever shape they are. Purely because they get excited about pregnancy and babies! (Well, I do!)

I'm really bad for it. I just want to be excited for someone. But I think I'm pretty entitled since I've now had nearly 2 years of explaining "no, probably not. Definitely not for another couple of years at least" whilst my pre-menstrual bloat is eyed suspiciously.

I try not to get involved in weight related gossip/talk. I can't stand it. I'm very much a believer that people will be their natural shape without an entirely unreasonable amount of dietary & physical effort. Excessively poor lifestyles notwithstanding. If people honestly want to exercise for the enjoyment of it, or eat differently for pleasure, then why not. But surely no good can come of denying oneself a little of what you like or forcing physical punishment on yourself.

I quite fancy a bit of yoga, has anyone tried Zumba?

OP posts:
GlaikitFizzog · 03/06/2013 17:13

Zumba near killed me! My friend is a big yoga bunny (she is off to India in six months to do her teacher training) and thinks it fixes everything. She has picked out a class for me to go to locally I just need to phone the lady. She really is in to the mind body and soul aspect of it. And she does amazing drunk yoga :o

I was working again today. I will be happy when year end is over!

Supper, then more tablet making for me tonight! And chocolate covered puff candy is tomorrow. MUST NOT EAT IT, IT'S FOR THE CHILDREN
