OK. Tomorrow evening if some more of you agree and I have more time and maybe some Wine I will go ask some of the ladies on the Oct, Sept and Dec threads. Any ideas on how to phrase the questions?

FatimaLovesBread · 31/01/2013 21:27

dicks My sis in law lives in Leeds. I live Huddersfield area so not too far away

BigPigLittlePig · 31/01/2013 21:36

PR cut straight to the chase - "have any of your dps become useless/nobheads since the birth of your LO? or is this just something affecting men who have babies in november? hm?"

(Disclaimer: mine's not that bad Smile)

PetiteRaleuse · 31/01/2013 21:41

Could be a bit intrusive though couldn't it?

Evilwater · 31/01/2013 21:41

I'm too shy.

YellowWellies · 31/01/2013 21:53

Evil if its reflux (and just because one GP has dismissed the idea isnt proof its not reflux), early weaning will make it worse. Ditto if its a food intolerance. If its colic - then that's a sign of an immature digestive system - adding solids risks permanent kidney damage Sad. We're all about to hit 4 month sleep regression territory and will no doubt receive much well intentioned advice that 'baby is hungry and needs solids' from our parents generation - IGNORE - there is a reason our generation has massive issues with obesity, allergies, asthma and eczema.

BigPigLittlePig · 31/01/2013 21:53

Evil I'm looking forward to hearing all about it! Once I convinced dh that I'm not going to run away to a lezzer commune by meeting for a coffee, he said "you're going to bitch about men aren't you" Hmm

Would we!?

horseylady · 31/01/2013 21:54

Mines alright (dh that is).

Why not just read the threads? I think in the others some will be having difficulties. Were just a bigger group.

A girl I work with is massively anti nurseries. No idea why. Surely their like schools, some good, some bad. When I was looking there were some I was like no way is he going there, but others were fab!! My dsis is a teacher and has just moved from inner city to affluent and we were laughing at the differences. Inner city Santa got milk and cookies. New school, champagne, port and Stilton :) Rudolph always gets a carrot though??!!

Evilwater · 31/01/2013 21:56

Big, I haven't told my P as he would over react, he comes up with the most crazy things.

I think I'll tell him I'm going to tesco.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 31/01/2013 21:57

We could have our ikea meet at Birstall then fatima!

BigPigLittlePig · 31/01/2013 22:01

Evil see comment re: lezzers - even the best of them can come up with crazy things! Technically speaking, you are going to Tescos. Just further away than usual. And with added beverages. And chat. I did refer to it as Freyas first blind date (didn't go down well with dh haha)

PetiteRaleuse · 31/01/2013 22:01

To be fair YW there are many reasons why our generation have so many health problems - I'm not sure that weaning at any age is a massive contribution compared to bad diet, no exercise, too much processed crap, salt and sugar..

But I agree, early weaning without medical guidance advice is not a good thing, especially for a baby with tummy trouble.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 31/01/2013 22:02

chunky as someone else who has hockey as a major cause of strife, you have my sympathies. Hope you are ok.

pr do it, please.

evil my understanding is that the nutritional value of first foods (baby rice, cereals) are nothing compared to formula or breast milk, which are densely packed, and so food does not satisfy anyway. However, I am by no means an expert. Worth thinking about the hungry milk? If you and bigpig are meeting, can another Westcountry inhabitant tag along?

purple another one curious here. I love my DS's nursery and staff I want to go to nursery instead of work sometimes.

BigPigLittlePig · 31/01/2013 22:05

Ooh yes madam - the more the merrier! It won't be too far for you to go, you're in Exeter aren't you? I think next Wednesday has been suggested - good for you?

Elizadoesdolittle · 31/01/2013 22:09

chunky wtf! Can't believe his solution is to walk out on you. Big hugs coming your way. Glad you have people around you.

My DH is no saint (and a saint probably couldn't put up with me!) but god some of the things I hear you guys say about your DH's makes me think actually I do have a damn good one. There certainly don't appear to be many of them on this thread!

Ah am jealous of those doing baby sensory tomorrow. It was my favourite activity with DD1. Can't wait to start with E but I have to wait till April when I can jiggle DD1's pre school schedule.

Had the peads appointment yesterday. E is growing nicely length ways and her head is too. She now weighs 8lbs 10ozs. My HV recommended that I take some medication beginning with D to help increase my supply which he agreed with. Got HV coming tomorrow to see how i got on and then drs appointment on monday as she wanted me to go back as a follow up to the 8wk check. Cant these people just all talk to each other'! Got to go back to peads consultant beg of march when he said we will discuss early weaning. Not sure how I feel about this. I waited till 6 months with DD1 and did BLW so weaning early with baby rice is the exact opposite to what I wanted to do. However if E will get some more calories this way and means I can actually go out safe in the knowledge that someone else can feed her it may be worth it. Will do a bit of research.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 31/01/2013 22:09

Works for me, and yes I am. Did send you a PM on FB, might have wound up in the "other" inbox. Let me know details!

BigPigLittlePig · 31/01/2013 22:12

I did not know that other inbox existed! Have just found a whole bunch of messages!!

GTbaby · 31/01/2013 22:13

PR Do it do it do it!

No pressure.

So after 5 mins of looking into LOs big brown eyes "mummy why am I in my crib" his attention shifted to his mobile. So I left him alone. N he is still asleep. Grin

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 31/01/2013 22:15

No pressure PR but you have to do it! I bet there is a chorus of agreement. Especially about how little their lives have changed and yet ours are beyond recognition.

ChunkyChicken · 31/01/2013 22:16

Can't talk much now, haven't read all comments but thanks for support.

He's home, we're talking. We'll get there cos we do still very deep down love each other. I expected this after DD, but not after #2!! It's all been a bit Shock but what doesn't kill us makes us stronger right??!! x

Kyzordz · 31/01/2013 22:16

Sophiathesnowfairy · 31/01/2013 22:30

Just shuffled off to eavesdrop on October thread. They are talking about schools already Shock. I shot off to report back to you all. And we were chastised for talking about sleeping. really

I love my kids nursery. Is like having family here when we haven't. Will be so sad when we leave in Sept.
