Sounds like 6 week growth spurt. Just ride it. You will be fine!!

Well no coughing fits here overnight I'm still going to take him just to get checked over. He's still not eating much. He woke at 3.30 hysterical. Did nappy change and feed, but he only took 2oz and that was very fretful. He's just eaten 4oz easily now and gone back off. What was nice last night is although a little whiney at my parents (we decided take away over restaurant as he's poorly). He was laughing more and when out down to sleep, wasn't tired but laid happily chewing his hands! Then he dropped off about 11.30 being hugged.

blonderthanred · 07/01/2013 08:32

Sorry to those who've had bad nights. I was feeling sorry for myself as DH is back to work today so no nice lie in for Mummy (he usually takes L downstairs for a couple of hrs first thing) but we did get a reasonable amount of sleep so I can't complain - mm you must be feeling awful.

I am kicking myself as I only got round to applying for child benefit the other day and then realised all these changes are coming in so they will be dealing with masses of paperwork atm. Hope they get to ours within a couple of weeks so it gets backdated to his birth. Oh well. Did you all zip it off straight after birth?

PetiteRaleuse · 07/01/2013 08:55

Well with the fresh air yesterday LO slept from 2pm until 4am only waking for quick feeds. But at 4 she woke up for two hours. DH dealt with as I hadn't managed to fall asleep until well after two.

The stress is catching up with me and I'm not sleeping properly. Waiting for LO's physio now. So tired and still smarting from Friday evening.

How is Detective this morning?

TheDetective · 07/01/2013 08:59

Hello.

He's back.

Grrrrrrrrrr.

He has a shit load to make up for.

Grumpy detective.

TheDetective · 07/01/2013 09:00

Blonder sent chb 15th dec. Got payment on 31st, backdated payment I think was on 27th. Don't fret!

blonderthanred · 07/01/2013 09:29

Oh thanks for the reassurance. Hope you sort out things with DP. You've said before that it was his idea to have the baby so maybe he needs to think about why that was and what he was expecting. Good luck!

YellowWellies · 07/01/2013 09:34

MM growth spurts are sooooo hard especially if BFing as you can be stuck on the couch feeding alllllllll day and all night for days on end, and LO's instinctive ways of upping your milk supply don't feel very nice (fussing, head butting, scratching, screaming, latching and relatching and nipple twisting) we are just on the downside of the 10 week one - I have to say the 6 weeker was the worst so far! M was quite a big baby so I bet she's having the 6 weeker early.

Just get yourself on the sofa with a heap of food and drink (or take her to bed and have a baby moon, cancel all housework, let DP do the cooking) upping your milk supply is hard work for her too and she loves you sooooo much even if she seems like a gremlin (J's growth spurt nick name). Just don't take the fussing as a sign she's not getting enough from you - that is NOT true - the fussing is her making enough from you. Once you get through this BF becomes soooo much easier. It is worth it xxxxx

Blonder we submitted CB the week between Xmas and NY (I was disorganised too!) and got it all sorted on Friday - was super quick.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/01/2013 09:41

Hope he's suitably sorry for being an arse.

I'm still upset over Friday night. I thought we were rock solid. Now I've kind of got this tightness in my chest as I ferl like my foundations have been rocked. We are both stressed but I don't think it's an excuse to have talked to me like that.

Thechick · 07/01/2013 10:06

Petite you are completely right, once that trust (well for me anyway) has gone that your partner wont leave, it's hard to get back. I would feel exactly the same way. Have you spoken to him about how you feel about what he said?

Blonder I applied for cb at the end of October (LO born 7th Oct) and have been sent back the birth certificate but haven't received any money.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/01/2013 10:12

Day 2 of potty training. Hmm don't know what is afoot. He has been up since 08:00, beaker of milk, cereal and some water. No wee wee. Dry pants. He can obviously hold it, but I would like him to wee so I can relax and deal with DS2 for a bit.

Olly woke at 05:00, had nearly 4 oz back to sleep Gil 07:30 wouldn't finish breakfast feed amount. He has not been eating great since his jabs has anyone else find that? No temp, doesn't seem poorly and still gets wet nappies.

Hope things work out today detective xx

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 07/01/2013 10:14

blonder only sent my CB form off a couple of wks back, A was 8wo yesterday. I think he was about 6wks when I got the letters confirming it & backdating it to his birth. The form had stuff on it about opting out etc so guess it'll be fine!!!

VQ sounds like a good night - about time!! :)

mm sympathies. Sounds like a growth spurt to me.

DS has def managed to up my supply recently - I was leaking after 2hrs, rather than 3-4hrs as had been the case a week ago. I don't think I'll ever be breast pad free again!!! :(

Had a good night. Fed for ages but self settled after DH winded him after the mammoth feed, slept from about 11-11.30ish until 3ish, then quick feed, straight down again until 6.15. Another quick feed then sleep until 8, uber quick feed, then sleep until 9.45. I've managed to get myself (& both dc) fed, watered & dressed, & the tandem buggy in the car & change bag packed. Successful morning so far!!!

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 07/01/2013 10:14

Got DS's jabs in 2hrs :(

horseylady · 07/01/2013 10:19

Sophia one week post jabs here and still struggling to feed him anywhere near normal amounts. At the dr at lunch.

YellowWellies · 07/01/2013 10:23

Oh horsey :( good luck!

DTD twice yesterday despite growth spurt gremlins having kidnapped my son! Feeling v chuffed and that life is getting a bit back to normal not that my boobs fit into any of my nice undies anymore

ValiumQueen · 07/01/2013 10:35

YW twice?

ValiumQueen · 07/01/2013 10:36

Good luck horsey hope all is well and you are reassured.

Remember weigh-in day on wibbly tummy thread.

nillynoon · 07/01/2013 10:40

Twice? I had a third degree tear and I'm too scared to try despite it all feeling fine down there!

Clarella · 07/01/2013 10:51

well done YW! Im still lurking as 'the last Nov baby' - your post about growth spurts was very reassuring yw, ds is 4 weeks today and I'm on my own for the first time all day too!

I think we're in some sort of growth spurt as feeding every hour but seems to start in the morning which is good I guess? however I'm not sure I'll achieve anything today!

what I'm most upset about is ds hates his moby sling - I might be doing it wrong (sling meet weds) or maybe didn't use enough at first but cos of c section I couldn't, Dh didn't want to tho we've had success with boba on dh out and about but only with his snow suiton - I've put him in snow suit in the house with it before but he won't go in it without and it feels a bit too hot with the suit really :/

Clarella · 07/01/2013 10:52

was sorry to hear about dh detective - glad he's back but still not a nice thing

horseylady · 07/01/2013 11:01

Clarella - he may not need to snow suit. I tend to take ds out in just a jacket plus the wrap. He's next to me so has my warmth and also the wrap counts as a layer as well.

Thanks for the well wishes. This morning I thought maybe I was overreacting but after another four coughing fits and a nightmare feed I'm glad I'm going!! He's not himself. Hes sprawled out over me again :(

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/01/2013 11:04

Is ridiculous he has gone from taking 6 to 7 oz to taking about three and screaming arching his back. All since the jabs was fine before then.

Am having an end of tether moment. Have now had two accidents on the floor a screaming baby that won't feed. The sky box seems to have broken.

I feel like crying myself. Sad

ShellyBobbs · 07/01/2013 11:25

Not really had much time to come on here over the Christmas holidays, but 3 kids now back at school and the laptop is now free!

Sorry to here of all the troubles and ill babies. Detective and Petite not really what you need with a small baby, how selfish! Hope they get the kick up the backsides that they both need.

Tommy got a playmat for Christmas and he absolutely loves it, it's one way I can actually get some housework done Grin

horseylady · 07/01/2013 11:32

Sophia - I want to say it gets better, but I've had a week like that :(

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/01/2013 11:33

If we can't get back on track by tomorrow am going to grumble at the dr.

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/01/2013 11:54

Finding it a bit difficult keeping up with this thread, I hardly ever have a min to myself (even now sitting at the table Ive got ds 'brushing' my hair!)

DD had her jabs this morn :( first jab she barely noticed but the second she screamed and screamed. I HATTEEEE them having jabs and she has an extremely sad face when she's upset.

Have my friend coming round today whose little girl is a day younger than DD and shes had her jabs today too so we'll have grumpy babies together!
