Watch your boobs Cat! Rolled on to mine... wasn't pleasant!

Passmethecrisps · 07/12/2012 18:08

You ladies make me lol. Back from shops - got aptimal comfort and 4 sleepsuits. Because new sleepsuits make everything better!

TheDetective · 07/12/2012 18:09

I actually love new sleep suits! They feel so... new!

I hate it when they have been washed a few times.. grrr!

YokoUhOh · 07/12/2012 18:16

Sometime poster here, returning to say that I'm so sorry ladies, had a bit of a break from Mumsnet after DS arrived 2 weeks early at 3.40am on 10.11.12 (cool birthday!). He was 6lb7oz (I'd been told at a scan that he'd be 9lb so that was a relief...). Hope you are all doing well and cluster feeding etc isn't driving you potty :)

Catbag · 07/12/2012 18:18

Yea, I generally have babies swinging from my boobs most of the day.... probably shouldn't roll on them either Grin

YokoUhOh · 07/12/2012 18:20

PS did the whole thing with gas and air, then DS turned the wrong way at the last second and ripped me to shreds :( so it was spinal block and stitches all the way :( :(

ValiumQueen · 07/12/2012 18:22

detective (on a serious note) I could not feed my first lying down, my second I learnt how to feed lying on my right, with this one I have learnt how to feed with both boobs lying on my right. Not at the same time obviously. It is tricky but can be done. I found it easier than swapping him to my left side, and have never quite got the hang of that anyway. I can only feed with my left boob whilst lying on my right if right boob is empty.

Catbag · 07/12/2012 18:22

Ouch yoko!

ValiumQueen · 07/12/2012 18:23

Welcome back yoko and congratulations. Sounds painful.

YokoUhOh · 07/12/2012 18:31

Thank you ladies :) yes, it was quite ouchy, I discovered that day that I had a high pain threshold which was a total surprise. I'm going to have a look at previous threads to see how you guys got on, congratulations to all of you :)

Catbag · 07/12/2012 18:36

Hope you have a few hours to spare and some supplies with you yoko, it could take some time!

Passmethecrisps · 07/12/2012 18:48

Welcome back yoko! Sounds tough.

babygrows are the new handbag.

FatimaLovesBread · 07/12/2012 18:59

Quick question before I catch up.
Any recommendations for something to get lovely yellow baby poo out of white vests and babygrows? M did a tremendous poo on the way home from the Trafford Centre which ended up all up her back

TheDetective · 07/12/2012 19:28

put some neat detergent on fatima, then wash in machine.

TheDetective · 07/12/2012 19:56

I blame the boobs for it VQ! I keep trying it but not getting anywhere!

I just tried breast compression to encourage faster feeding. It didn't make any change to his sucking grrr!

I know my supply is good. Less than 10 mins on hand pump gives 90-100mls. But Oscar likes a leisurely munch!

TheDetective · 07/12/2012 19:58

Oh I forgot to sing the praises of Oilatum. Where the olive oil had failed, one application of Oilatum has disintegrated the extra layer of peely skin! Wish I'd used it 2 weeks ago!

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 07/12/2012 20:34

fatima try napisan.

DS has got a freed tongue. Very proud of us both - him for feeding well enough to put on a kg since birth (26do) & me for bfing despite his severe tongue tie, 90% tethered with no protrusion & extremely limited lateral movement. His cry of pain almost made me cry but his first feed was much more comfortable Xmas Grin

StuntNun · 07/12/2012 20:59

I have fed J both barrels and DH has just left with him to visit his brother. He has taken a bottle of EBM with him and is not expected back for a few hours. Do I: (A) pine for my baby as he has only been away from me for less than an hour up till now; or (B) have a glass of Baileys knowing I won't have to feed him until midnight at the earliest? Decisions, decisions.

Oilatum is good stuff Detective. I've been putting DS2's Oilatum Junior in J's bath and his dry skin is almost gone now. Is their skin so dry because they were both well overdue?

lane I can't believe you couldn't get a coffee, it would have drove me nuts if a stranger picked my baby up Ben if she was trying to be friendly

Haha VQ you make me laugh about cakes

tits I'm very jealous that you get to try the new breast pump

Oh garden I hope your twins don't catch it

Glad you had good news petite

Aww pass you poor LO fingers crossed the new formula works. I wouldn't see that HV if I was you just phone and ask to see a different one in the future

detective small cars and baby's just don't go, I got a new car when I was pregnant because my old one would not fit hardly any shopping in the boot let alone a pram, I've it a vauxhall Astra now and it's got a nice big boot and has alot I space inside

Woo chunky glad the first feed was better for you now LOs you he has been snipped

Had a chilled night to with a tub of Ben as Jerry's Xmas Grin going Christmas shopping tomorrow, almost all done now

NervousAt20 · 07/12/2012 21:00

stunt I'd have the baileys your going to pine over your LO aswell

Passmethecrisps · 07/12/2012 21:12

Thanks nervous. That's a good idea. Not sure I am ballsy enough but I certainly be quicker to question anything.

How do you all manage bath time. P likes being in the bath but she gets so upset about being woken, undressed, hungry etc that we end up rushing. I have tried feeding her half before hand but the wee tub will not be diverted. Should I just feed her completely before hand?

P is getting her first feed of comfort formula. It Is thicker so cannot be gulped in the same way. Fingers crossed wee sausage shows some improvement soon.

The whole car thing is a nightmare. We thought we had perfectly big enough cars but it turns out not big enough! To get the pram in the boot o DH's car we need to take the wheels off and we cannot fit anything else in the boot. To get the car seat in the back the passenger's seat has to be pulled right forward.

TheDetective · 07/12/2012 21:12

Stunt, Baileys and bed... that would be my choice!

Yes, skin was so dry because he was so flippin' over due Grin. DS1 was the same - he then developed eczema at 4 months. Hope we don't have a repeat! He still suffers badly with it at 10 :(

I just finished a 2 hour feedathon. I was going to go to bed, but he might wake up in less than an hour for the next feed. Dunno whether to wait or not... bugger!

Passmethecrisps · 07/12/2012 21:13

stunt I vote for baileys
