Too late. Looks like I'm not getting any more sleep tonight.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 13/12/2012 06:52

I am going to have a teasmaid one day!

tits hope he is better soon. Shite season to be born isn't it.

Well LO went down at 11 and at 5 when she woke me up I was pleased with a nice long sleep. Ecept DH then told me that he'd been up at 3 with her and I hadn't woken up at all. Which is lovely for me but annoying that she went from waking once, to not at all (once) to waking twice several nights in a row. Growth spurt, has to be had better be

I've been up since then being productive and catching up with laundry. Have lots of ironing, tidyîg and actual cleaning to do but have made a reslution to self that as soon as I am not looking after one of the children or sleeping then I will do bits of housework instead of lazing. It's been almost 8 weeks now and I am sick of living in a tip. It's time I got organised.

New resolutions usually only last a few hours with me though :(

NervousAt20 · 13/12/2012 07:48

glenda he's a staffie and absolutly beautiful. We were worried how he would react with LO because he's our baby and even answers to the name but he's been great, if I'm holding her hell come have a snuff then go look at DP for his cuddles. They are a part of the family

We've not had the best of nights here just up on feed 5, we've got to be outthe house at 9:15 Xmas Sad I hate having things to do in the morning.

ValiumQueen · 13/12/2012 08:08

pikz Grin DP been saving it up?

tits so sorry. Hopefully it is a mild case. It is not nice. Be prepared to get covered in a lot of milk.

GT good to hear. Do take them to be destroyed though. They really are not something you want around. I found calms helped take the edge off. I doubt they are ok with bf though.

pass how are things today? I vote tonight we hit the town - get absolutely bladder and and snog strangers.

I had a fucking awful night. After the vomfest, he fed and fed and fed. About 2hours sleep in total. DH asked what was wrong as I was sobbing. I said I was fine. If he had to fucking ask he did not care. Fucking obviously surely! If you ever read this thread darling, I love you dearly, but sometimes wish I was a lesbian. It would be so much easier raising babies.

DD2 has just done a poo, so DH has just gone upstairs. I am feeding. Great.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/12/2012 08:18

Nervous I'm sure you know this but staffies are wonderful with children, one of the very few breeds recommended by the Kennel Club to have around kids.

We have a big soppy golden retriever who is amazingly patiet with DD1 who sees him as a living breathing stuffed toy. She never hurts him but likes to lie against him and use her felt tips to colour his paws and is permanently giving him big sloppy kisses which are reciprocated Hmm

And she shares her food with him, which is more annoying so he now has to outside and drool against the back door while she eats.

He hasn't really approached LO yet except during her bouts of colic he comes and puts his head on my knee or on hers if she is on my knee and looks up at me as if to say "oh fgs DO something" !!

Just realising I am gushing over my dog more than my children. The Doghouse is a better place to do that. As you were..

katkit1 · 13/12/2012 08:18

first time in 3 weeks i'm up, washed, dressed and have make up on - guest coming so felt i should make the effort. I do feel good but what a faff when normally i'm all about the grubby pj's - all day and crappy unwashed hair.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/12/2012 08:22

Oh pikz I just saw your typo and laughed so suddenly LO demonstrated her startle reflex Grin

KissysUnderTheMisteltoe · 13/12/2012 08:46

Another one wishing for a teasmaid here!

LO woke up sounding like she was struggling to breathe this morning which gave me the fright of my life. Think she's all bunged up in her nose. Just had a feed and didn't struggle too much so maybe its cleared a bit now she's upright?
DP has a cold so I guess he's passed it onto her Confused

tits hope your boy is improving x

Catbag · 13/12/2012 09:02

tits How awful for you both. Hope he picks up today.

Evilwater · 13/12/2012 09:02

Hi everyone sorry to hear things are very tough.
LO is 10 weeks on Friday and things are starting to slot into place. Finally we are getting into a routine, which helps me loads and he seems very happy about the same things happing every day. He is up at 8 and then fed at 12,4,6,10. At 10 it's his bedtime and I place him in his cot and read to him, and then he is asleep. Some nights are better than other, but I'm getting used to broken sleep.

Going to groups has helped me loads, and it gets LO used to other children (he is a only child) and it tires him out loads.

Muddling along,
Evil
(No I havnt got any Xmas stuff done, including the tree)

ChunkyTurkeywiththetrimmings · 13/12/2012 09:37

I had some sleep!!! DH kept him downstairs (asleep) until 1.40 when I fed him. He then wanted feeding at about 4.30 but that's when it got tricky - 2 more feeds & 2 pooey nappies & I finally got to sleep at 6.50, just in time for DH to ignore his alarm and not get up for work & DD get up a bit later. Thankfully DH dealt with DD for a little while so I could sleep for a bit longer... He went 3hrs between feeds too.

Anyone else's LO hate being burped but have bad wind? DS will not stay still & groans like he hates it in every position but needs to burp!!!

DonnaDoon · 13/12/2012 09:44

Lovely to hear from you Evil it sounds like youre doing a cracking job...well done you!

ValiumQueen · 13/12/2012 09:44

evil that sounds great! Well done you both x

Hopefully pass is asleep.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/12/2012 09:45

Mine hates being burped too. She actually scowls at me, there's no better word for it. Looking forward to a few months down the line when they don't need burping anymore and the spewiness stops.

Evil, glad things are settling down. DD1 slotted into place at about 10 weeks too so am hoping that will be the same this time round. She was sleeping through six days out of seven by 12 weeks, and regularly but not so often at about 10 weeks. She was exceptionally easy from birth though. Se's a really tough toddler though.

glendathegoodwitch · 13/12/2012 09:49

£60 for a teasmaids?? Bit steep - but then again it would make the feeds sooo much more enjoyable lol - I am always sooooo thirsty during night feeds that I have to take a lunchbox with a freezer pack in and 3 Capri suns to see me through - need to swap the nibbling of chocolate for fruit and nut mix!!!

Tallulah(7) and truffle are best friends and she let's her sleep on her and play schools not to mention dressing her up as a pirate lol - she's accepted Dottie - ill put a pic up on fb from a couple of weeks ago!!

Having a jama day with hubbie today before picking dd1 up and taking her riding!!

Evilwater · 13/12/2012 09:57

Thanks everyone, he is not sleeping through yet.

A quick question! TMI
When I go for a poo, it hurts like hell still, and afterwards my ass is on fire. Sometime there is a very tiny amount of blood, think head of a pin. I'm regular, and it's a type 4-3.
What the f* is it??

Evil

YellowWellies · 13/12/2012 10:04

MM BFing supply is based on demand over the last 24 hours - did you leave any very long gaps between feeds yesterday? That would explain why your supply has dropped a little. Really really avoid going any more than 4 hours between feeds (from your boobs) in the first month to maintain your supply. Bottles are handy if out but can mean you go longer than you should in terms of boob stimulation - baby might be happy but your body won't be - I had similar about two weeks in when my supply fell off a cliff after we'd done too much the day before and left 5 hours between breast feeds. It has come back absolutely fine - but hte only solution is a lot of breast stimulation from Matilda and the pump - like 2-3 hourly for the next 12-24 hours. It will build it back up - sadly the best time to build is night time. Now we feed every 4-5 hours at night no problems so it won't last forever! (other than last night when he fed 2.5 hourly for no reason other than he felt like it growth spurt gremlin)

YellowWellies · 13/12/2012 10:07

I bet M has been cluster feeding to build your supply - not because she's not getting enough but because she knows that she is growing and needs more. She's a clever kitten!

gardenpixies32 · 13/12/2012 10:18

Sorry to hear that so many of us are having a hard time. I hope it improve for us all!

I put on 3 stone while pregnant and have somehow managed to shift it. Last night, my pajama bottoms fell off! Weighed myself and have lost another half a stone! Then realised that it is because we are literally not eating! There is NO TIME!!!!! We only have a cooked dinner if DPs mother or my friend in Brum brings us something! Yesterday all I ate was a whole packet few chocolate fingers.

Had some idea how hard it was going to be with 2 babies, but no idea it was going to be like this.

Plus DT1 has colic. Feeling blue today.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 13/12/2012 10:32

Also interested in the answer to that evil as am experiencing the same thing, but quite a bit of blood. Was fairly constipated after DS was born, but that has worn off, but every time hurts and bleeds. Not yet had 6/8 week check up, so will probably ask the dr (despite mortification at having to do so).

garden, DS has terrible colic/wind in the evenings and it is awful. Cant imagine how much harder it must be with 2. Hang in there.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/12/2012 10:47

Evil could it be a pile?

Kyzordz · 13/12/2012 10:52

Hope your lo gets better soon tits :( and anyone else's poorly lo's too (I've been reading but forget everything and I'm on my phone so it's hard to check back! Hope dt1's colic goes soon garden, am not sure how colic works I just know its nasty business :(

My lo went doctors and his infant gaviscon wasn't working well because he'd gained weight and had to move to the next dosage! He was 9lb 9 on the Tuesday he was first given it and 10lb 7 by the Monday we took him back! He seems much better with that now but unfortunately he has a cold :( he's all snotty and has a cough, mainly when he's trying to drink and he's drinking less and sleeping more. My mum tells me this is common with a cold in such a small baby but I worry when je's not drinking much. Perhaps I should stop worrying so much. He is still drinking, just not alot at all :( he just wants to sleep, though is bright and alert when he is awake and doesn't have a temperature. I want to take him doctors but there isn't anything they can do I don't think and I don't think it's anything serious.

Is it normal for them to be fussy with feeds and sleep alot with a cold? Should I be taking him doctors or not jumping the gun just yet?

Sorry, I feel like I'm always asking for advice and never giving it - I don't feel I know enough to give any though! :(

PetiteRaleuse · 13/12/2012 10:57

Kysordz: try clearing his nose with saline drops before each feed to help him feed better. Keep an eye on hos temperature, and have him sleep at an angle with his head higher. If at any time you worry, get him checked out. He's fussy when he feeds as breathing is harder with a bunged up nose.
