LOL at Brown Mini with crap brakes Grin.

We have put ours in an Equity Stakeholder account with Nationwide - did it in November. We aren't planning on adding to it as all the children have other accounts already.

Shock mrsd, will link to that thread I was talking about the other day.

\link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=49&threadid=7181\here}.

Easter wasn't bad for us although I have lost the hearing in one ear which is driving me potty. ds2 still teething and has been awake quite late into the night but has rewarded us also by sleeping in most mornings too.

mrsdarcy · 20/04/2006 15:52

Blimey Bagpuss, that thread is enough to make anyone un-broody. It's certainly worked for me. The hormones have curled up again under their mouldy blanket. How's your ear doing?

Bagpuss30 · 20/04/2006 15:56

It's throbbing mrsd Sad. NHS direct seems to hint that it may be wax trapped with water against the ear drum (bleurgh) as it happened when I was in the shower - have sent dh to the chemists for some super ear wax dissolving potion though.

Told you that thread was a good one Smile.

hoxtonchick · 20/04/2006 16:39

hope your ear's better soon bagpuss, i had a horrid infection when pg with dd which lasted for aaaaagges.

she was so happy when i picked her up from nursery, she kissed me lots :o. she is so spoilt there, the deputy was patrolling her around, feeding her grapes & rice cakes as she hadn't had much lunch! she definitely benefits from being the only baby.

i am just getting used to her crawling, & she's now decided to start cruising along the furniture. help....

i had a mole removed at the hospital this morning, so clearly couldn't work. blissful, peaceful afternoon!

merryberry · 20/04/2006 21:04

Oh dear. Using new phone to Mn. Stop.must stop

merryberry · 20/04/2006 21:31

\link{http://home.swipnet.se/mooamp/wallpapers/hairy-cow.jpg\Many thanks MrsD} Hope the ear sorts out soon, miserable afterwards.

Sorry about the daft post below. I was so excited to get my sticky paws on MN through my shiny new phone. DS happily drooling over old discarded one, he's been after it for weeks.

Now that HC, sounds like a proper nursery - none of the nonsense I witnessed.

OP posts:
merryberry · 20/04/2006 21:32

I think I meant miserable otherwise, not afterwards!

Bagpuss30 · 22/04/2006 12:11

I can hear again Smile but ds2 now has some sort of eye infection Sad. We are a healthy bunch aren't we?

Hoxtonchick, can I just ask you as a fellow Wilkinet owner, whether you have ever used the back or side carry position? I was trying to work it out the other day as I was cooking and ds2 wanted carrying so I thought it would be the perfect solution. Only trouble was the straps were terribly difficult to do and ds2 and I were really uncomfortable.

I hope everyone else is having a nice weekend Smile.

hoxtonchick · 22/04/2006 21:15

errr, i've given it away bagpuss Blush. i never last beyond about 3 months with slings, was the same with ds & his baby bjorn. they have a website i think, you could have a look there.

dd & ds played the most entertaining game of peekabo for half an hour earlier - they both have the same bed avoidance gene :o.

Eulalia · 22/04/2006 22:41

MB - ds doesn't seem to have separation anxiety although he is rarely separated from me - I even tend to carry him from room to room because he's fairly small and light and also because our house is such a mess it wouldn't be wise to leave him Grin. He's not fond of the playpen though (but is any baby?). Also one of the other two kids often pick him up.

Bagpuss - sorry to hear of your ailments. My ds2 seems to have had a runny nose for weeks now.

Oh yes and at last WE HAVE TEETH!! Two at the front came in at the same time on Monday. That was quite a long wait as he's over 8 months now.

I updated my photos so here we have -

Gorgeous puctures Eulalia Smile. And great news on the teeth!
Hope DS2 is better today Bagpuss

Bagpuss30 · 23/04/2006 20:55

ds2's eyes a little better thanks. dh took him to the doctors' for me (out of hours surgery in the next town, gah!) so he has drops which are a nightmare to get in but seem to be helping.

Eulalia, congrats on the teeth at last! Those pictures are great Smile.

Tsk, tsk HC, you did such a good sales job on me that I thought you would still be using yours Grin. I actually quite liked carrying ds2 on my back but had expected more from the sling really - it was so difficult to adjust.

hehe, dh is looking at photos of ds2 as a newborn (with a really whistful expression on his face) at the other computer atm, he thinks I can't see him Smile.

hoxtonchick · 23/04/2006 21:02

a friend has just had her first baby & i am desperately giving stuff away so we can't have another baby :o.

Bagpuss30 · 23/04/2006 21:05

ah no, but three is great

hoxtonchick · 23/04/2006 21:12

oi!

merryberry · 24/04/2006 10:55

talk about broody - i think it is cos ours are getting active and non-baby-ish?

ds going great guns with nanny. all very happy now! have also as of last night stopped BF at night - my supply getting too low evidenced by repeated demands for food in the night. bottles last night - much better night alround. so big pat on the back for me getting this far, but no pats on the boobs which are about to explode! may have to nip home and get yong man to syphon the pressure off slightly at lunchtime.

eulalia, your pictures are just lovely. ds seems to have worked out we come back already, and settles really fast when we leave. took a week only. phew.

TTFN.

oh go on, mb, have another, you know you want to! are you back at work now?

Eulalia · 24/04/2006 14:29

Bagpuss - glad your ds is getting better.

Blimey some of you getting broody already... I always take 2 years before I think of more kids... but not again. I feel I only have enough time to stretch to 3 and am getting too old. My mother wouldn't talk to me again anyway Grin !!!

Forgot to say thanks for advice re Child Trust Fund voucher. Going to play it safe and put it a savings account - maybe move it later when we have more time to research things properly...

Been busy spring cleaning and using my new utility room - I may even get very sad and start ironing everything...

merryberry · 24/04/2006 19:16

Tuesday 2nd HC...am busy sharpening pencils.

hoxtonchick · 25/04/2006 07:41

i am doing cancer atm - any good?

Belo · 25/04/2006 20:47

Lots to catch up on.... Eulalia, your children are getting even more beautiful.

Sorry we didn't get to do a Liverpool meet up MrsD / Bagpuss / Hub. I was preseented with a rather hectic schedule when we arrived which involved feeding horses, playgrounds, trips to see donkeys on beaches, Blue Planet (that was the water thing Bagpuss. SIL got confused) Soft play centres, face painting and lots of aunties and uncles. SIL was brilliant but I do find my MIL very hard work. Does it make me a horrible person if I don't want dd2 to have Easter Eggs? And is it so wrong to let dd1 (aged 3 1/2) have more than 2 strawberries?

Dd2 is still not crawling. But, she does seem to move.... She's got 3 teeth and loves to clap her hands. She now does it on demand and looks so pleased with herself.

Going to read through the posts and catch up now. Its a bummer when I'm busy at work and I don't get chance to go on Mumsnet...

hub2dee · 27/04/2006 07:54

hi all, quick catch up as this thread always drops out of my 'threads I'm on'.

There is MN talk of a picnic on July 9th in Hyde Park (I think those details are correct). Not sure if we're going as this is probably when we'll have dd's 1st birthday, but just thought I'd mention it. Yes, Belo, it would be fun to meet one day and have so many babies at about the same age, LOL !

I think we're going to be the slowest of the slow with many things re: dd, perhaps because she was one month prem and so teensy ? Socially she is fab and funny, but no teeth, no rolls, no crawl etc. Doubtless everything will come together in an insane growth spurt fairly soon, or perhaps she won't be bothered to crawl and will just walk at some point !
