Hey horsey what did u take to register him? Just the letter they gave at hospital? Nothing else? Will they check my ID? As I have nothin official with my married name Confused.

LO has a spot on his arm. Doesn't seem to bother him. Don't know if I should worry about it?

daisychain76 · 23/11/2012 22:05

Garden sending you and catbag much admiration. Hope you have a peaceful few weeks now. Chunky hope it went ok at drs. Belgrano hope your LOs cold is better soon.

Baby H is still only 6 pound 2 and 9 weeks on Monday. Can?t wait for him to fit in all ds1?s old newborn stuff.

Passmethecrisps · 23/11/2012 22:23

horsey that made me giggle. I was trying to tell my DH that P was hungry earlier on but he was arguing she wasn't. He stuck his face right in hers, she grabbed his nose with her mouth and gave it a suck. He believed that she was hungry after that.

I honestly cannot express how much respect I have for you catbag. Not only are you trying to feed and generally cope with twins but you have been in pain and have other children! Honesty, the last few days have been a total blub fest for me and I have categorically nothing to cry about really. Cry as much as you like but know that you are a total champion - belly or no belly.

I have no idea how much wee P now weighs. I think I will get on the scales tomorrow with her. My in laws who saw her when she was first born say she has changed massively. I must try to pay attention to all the little changes

horseylady · 23/11/2012 22:26

Gt we took nothing, they checked nothing. Could literally have been any baby!!

Oh and huge hugs to garden, stunt and catbag!!

Stunt I hope the antibiotics ate working!!

Garden - things will get better!!

horseylady · 23/11/2012 22:27

Pass he only licks after feeding.

Passmethecrisps · 23/11/2012 22:34

That's adorable! I am very much looking forward to getting a proper smile as well. We had a visitor this morning and P gave her a huge gummy grin - at least it looked for all the world like a grin. All open mouthed and lovely. Did not look like a wind grin at all. Mind you, I would be a touch jealous if my pal got the first smile and not DH or I

Chunkychicken · 23/11/2012 23:54

GT We had to take the red book/NHS number to register him, but otherwise, nothing else.

Dr gave A some Paracetomol (0.6ml - bless!!) & some antibiotics, because he had a bit of a mucous rattle on his lung & although it may well clear up by itself, just in case. Feel better about getting him checked, despite waiting 2 hrs to be seen!! The saline spray seems to have loosened some snot & he had a longer feed this evening than earlier, so that's good.

Catbag I am in awe.

GTbaby · 24/11/2012 00:38

Blub fest again. Can it still b hormonal?Confused

Went thro all the pics of LO on my phone earlier. In 5 weeks he had grown up do much! Starting to look massive lol.

Stupid thought time. I really worry about weird things. Been looking at baby groups. Most for babies r bf support. So feel a lil shit about that. Found a bumps n babies group but it has a bf councillor. But nervous as they may be all y r u not breast feeding judge pants type thing. Please refer to my open sentence. I know it's a stupid thought. But it's a worry in my head, they might ask me y not bf n that's it. Ill be blub fest.

Oh oh feeding time.

NervousAt20 · 24/11/2012 00:50

Aw garden sounds like you've had enough stress to last you a long long time

chunky glad your LO had a good feed, hopefully he should start to feel better with some medication on board

GT I went to a bf group and there were other mums there who mix feed and give there babies more formula then breast but no one judged and it was just mainly a chance for a load of women to sit around and chat. I'm shocked I actually went because I hate going to new things/situations on my own but im glad I did, it got me out the house and talking to other mums about all things baby related and there are some lovely people there

Just had failed transfer after being up feeding for almost 2 hours. If DP snores any louder I think ill punch give him a nudge, listening to him snore from another room is like rubbing salt in a sore wound and it gets even worse when the dog starts up too Envy

NervousAt20 · 24/11/2012 00:51

Sorry I did mean to name check more but in my sleep deprived state I can't remember what I was going up say Blush

ValiumQueen · 24/11/2012 02:49

Came to bed nice and early with baby. Settled him to sleep, was just about to attempt moving to cot when DH comes in. I say what will be happening, he puts light on, wakes baby, starts playing with baby. Took over an hour to settle one very angry baby. I could have throttled DH.

Brockle · 24/11/2012 02:59

Hello postnatal thread and 3am! Will try and catch up tomorrow but thought I would give you a wave!

Brockle · 24/11/2012 02:59

Hello postnatal thread and 3am! Will try and catch up tomorrow but thought I would give you a wave!

ValiumQueen · 24/11/2012 03:21

Waves at brockle twice!

I am thinking about what christmas presents I have yet to get. I will be wrapping up hand me down toys and books for the younger two. I have given wish lists to grandparents and everything we need has been agreed on, which is great.

If DS was easier to settle I think I would almost be enjoying the night feeds now. The day feeds are pretty easy now. The only challenge is DD2 as as soon as boob is out, she is finding ways of getting my attention. Peppa will only last so long, and things like ice lollies go quickly. She spent some time in the play pen yesterday. She was not impressed at all.

GTbaby · 24/11/2012 03:43

Xmas present buying. Sad everyone is getting money / vouchers this year.
N u fave one secret Santa gift to sort out which is harder.
Buying Xmas cards from mothercare. They have ones were u put LO picture in. Need to do that ASAP so we can send cards abroad. N making grandparents a calendar with pictures of their grand kids. That should b easy. Just need to get it started finished.

This is what I'm thinking about rather then sleeping. Sad

NervousAt20 · 24/11/2012 04:18

GT I got a thing through from sainsburys baby club where you can go on I think it's vista print and I have te code downstairs and you can make your own calader and our your own photos in and in the date parts youcan add birthdays ect and try print it all for only 99p and its £3 something for delivery but all in all comes to under £5 not sure how good it is but I've ordered one, if you or anyone of the other mummies what the link later remind me and ill post

We're up for feed 2 here after the last one taking at least 2 hours Sad I actually feel abit emotional because I'm so tired. I've almost expressed a full bottle of BM for DP tomorrow and he said he can give it her at around 9 and I laughed and told him no you can give it at around 1am! He has the weekend off and has never done a night feed so I think that times perfect is it bad that i want her to show him just how difficult night feeds can be? Blush

I got DD some Xmas presents this week, things for when she's a couple of months older and some 3m+ toys and today or yday whichever I got DP some bits off amazon Black Friday

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/11/2012 05:01

Our 10 pm feed, for some unexplained reason lasted till 01:46. Sad what was that all about? I just don't know, was more the fact he wouldn't settle back down than anything else. In the end I just thought he was overtired so I put him down wailing. After two short five minute meltdowns with a break inbetween he was gone. When DH goes back to work on Mon is hardball with the routine and settling when awake.

catbag you are my hero.

garden it sounds like you have had a real rollercoaster I hope things settle down for you soon.

stunt pants about the section wound. I hope the antibiotics have kicked in.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/11/2012 05:01

All Christmas presents are online this year, and mainly are amazon!

GTbaby · 24/11/2012 06:17

DH is on night shift so been all alone. Have had rubbish sleep despite LO being quick at drinking feed and settling.

A lil concerned LO drinks to much. He is on 4oz feeds every 3 hours. Which is 8 feeds. When he is wide awake he will have 5oz. However wont mk him go longer. So will still have 8 feeds. On carton states 4oz should be 5 times a day. Not 8. So that's 3 extra feeds. Not sure what to do ? Anyone have similar?

NervousAt20 · 24/11/2012 06:30

Third feed here not even 2 hours between.

Tonight a very close family friend if having a birthday party, I wasn't goin to go but thought I wouldn't mind popping in with LO for half an hour or so buy don't know if that's a good idea, they'll be loud music on and sometimes at night she like to cluster feed so not sure if she'll let us go but there's no where there I could go to feed her, what Di you all think? Would I be best off on the sofa with cake?

kirrinIsland · 24/11/2012 06:52

VQ I'm having that problem too. DD1's current attention seeking favourite is. Emptying handfuls of soil from the pot plant on to the floor. Previous stunts have included climbing onto the window sill and pulling the dogs' ears :( I think i now know every Postman Pat episode word for word, but it only works for so long and I feel guilty as there is far too much tv happening in our house at the moment.

stunt and cat hope your war wounds are healing well and no giving you too much trouble.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/11/2012 07:52

GT Oliver has, remembering he is a few weeks younger than your LO, 7 feeds all of either 3 or 4 ounces. So it doesn't sound like he is having too much at all. My theory was you should base it, approx on 2 and 1/2 oz per. Lb of their weight. I am still working from O's birth weight as we have yet to reach it so it is 9lb, making it 22.5pz per day. IYSWIM. I have used that theory with all four of my children, particularly when using formula as I have been worried about over feeding and I have ( to date) 3 healthy, active and slim kiddos.

If you are worried speak to your HV and ask for some guidance.

vq DS1 is the same, wants a cuddle, or an I pad, or milk or water when I pick O up to feed. He isn't as bad as DD1 was when I had DD2 though so I am feeling grateful for that.

One of my mega amazon order arrives today, I am most excited about this...www.amazon.co.uk/Mums-Family-Calendar®-Sandra-Boynton/dp/076117091X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1353743457&sr=8-1

Nanny arrives today from Northern Ireland.....hooray!Grin

horseylady · 24/11/2012 08:33

Gt ds eats anywhere between 4 and 6 oz every three to four hours. He has 6 or 7 feeds a day (more often 6) depending on how overnight goes!!

ValiumQueen · 24/11/2012 08:42

I have got that sophia. It was my push present. It has more space than the usual ones. Not had much time to fill it in yet though.

DSs feed in the night took three pigging hours. 1 hour to feed, 2 to settle. I tried him in the cot again. I sadly cannot let him cry otherwise the other kids are awake. Sodding new houses and their thin walls. I got about 5 hours in total, so not bad really.

Belgrano · 24/11/2012 09:02

V Q we had a v v v long feed last nt too- I fed from 1-4am.

And Kirrin poor you with the soil trick-that sounds a nightmare. We just seem to stick with plain old tantrums here altho DS did kick the baby's head yesterday 'by accident'
