A nice new thread for us all - I know someone mentioned it a few days ago Grin

No no BEAR, take it off!! Don't keep it there on my account Grin; would rather have no picture of me than that one (or indeed the others with me in !!); I know JENJAM, the shame of it..vanity is an evil beast, but hey it's ingrained Blush. HOnestly BEAR, we've probably attracted more attention to our picture than if we'd just skulked away Grin.
Oh KARMA why do I feel so sick about the choc pudd when you ate it?? At least it's out of temptation's way now though!!
Right, bed for me Smile.
Night all,
Diege Smile.

Karmamother · 19/04/2006 23:23

Just had a look at the pics from the meet. The babes are way too cute!!

Beksmum, Thomas looks like he'll melt many a girl's heart.

Diege, loving those extensions, babe.Smile

Must get my arse in gear & get some of our photos uploaded.

Right, definately off to bed now. Night night.

Rodeo · 19/04/2006 23:34

You can't take the pics off - they're nice, I really like the one of Diege waving! You could have smiled though Bear - you're not making much of an effort there are you? Wink Only joking, I know those sneaky photographers were taking pictures on the sly! Don't like the last one of me either though - my nose looks really funny - it doesn't look like that does it?! Grin Londoner & Golden look fab! Londoner, you remind me of someone famous - I've not figured out who though yet :)

Is the race on between Libby & Z as to who cuts there teg first? Aw, hope it's v. soon for both of them, it can't be nice. J has not touched any solids today, has hardly had any milk either and slept loads :( Hopefully she'll be much better in the morning, we shall see!

Night x

Jen - step away from the babyrice for the sake of poor little Finn - it's disgusting! banana is much more palateable :)

Rodeo · 19/04/2006 23:36

Agree Karma, the ones of Thomas are lovely :)

Karmamother · 19/04/2006 23:44

Rodeo, I've noticed that on MN there is a hatred of baby rice. Why is that? I'd be interested to know why. Sure, it looks & smells awful but I mix it with EBM so I think that's why Ella likes it. Like mummy's milk......only more filling!

JenJam · 19/04/2006 23:47

oh gawd can't take photo off keep getting an error message AGAIN

AND LOSING PATIENCE WITH PHOTO HELP BUTTON. tHINK THE SITE LAYOUT IS COMPLETE POO - NONE OF THE BUTTONS AT THE TOP OR BOTTOM ARE CONSISTENT.

help says 'Only the group moderator and the person who added the photo can edit that photo. Similarly, only the moderator and the creator of an album can edit that album'

Perhaps the moderators could step in while I sidle off for a theoretical smoke (hehe that used to be my old trick at work during any IT crises - call IT and disappear for a bit obviously now i've gone all mumsy smoking is a fing of the past....)

right must go to bed

wish someone took a picture of me. I've just polished off another half an easter egg and i need some of motivation and iron willpower....

RNBA - I made up - wondered if anyone would ask what it meant - Resumed Normal Bedroom Activities (whatever normal used to be!).

JenJam · 19/04/2006 23:49

my top rear molar hurts...hope I'm not in for a horrid time at the dentist - I heard tonight from my MIL that a breastfed baby can suck all the calcium out of your head. surely not???

Rodeo · 20/04/2006 00:27

Jen LOL suck it all out of your head! Although I'm sure I read somewhere the blighters can strip 10% of your calcium out while pg and then up to 30% while bfeeding! That can't be right can it? But I've also read that if you breastfeed you can protect yourself from getting osteoporosis - so how does that work out?!! May google that and report back. LOL was on my mum's the other day (talking about daft things mums/MILs say) and she annoyingly tried to push in to the keyboard while I was trying to search for something saying 'You'll need the search site, Goggle' Oh how I laughed at her Grin

Karma, I don't know, it's the smell that puts me off, just horrid, can't imagine it would taste nice, maybe I got the proportions wrong but it makes me heave! Mashed banana mixed with milk on the otherhand is rather appealing :)

Right really must get to bed now!

Rodeo · 20/04/2006 00:30

on my mums computer that should have read

tessasmum · 20/04/2006 07:14

Morning everyone!

Someone woke at 6am for a feed and is now happily sleeping in bed with Daddy. I have to be up for 7am and knew I'd never sleep so came and sorted the rest of the photos out.

It was lovely to meet everyone on Wednesday but can we do it all again next week please as I felt I hardly spoke to anyone - so many people, so little time Grin All the babies were gorgeous and so well behaved and the cake was FANTASTIC Jen-move over Nigella.
It was funny to hear comments about not being able to finish sentences. As I was there minus toddler I actually felt I was able to have a conversation without interuption for the first time in ages (too knackered to do much other than stare at the telly after she has gone to bed ATM Shock)

BEKS - Ben was a star, I know Tessa would never have managed to be so good.
BoB - sorry you had such a rough time. Felt very mean leaving you just after you had arrived but it was an hour later than I'd planned to leave already. Paid for it though as both were late having their tea and the evening was a string of single and joint meltdowns (me included!)

ChaCha - partner in crime, think that's me!! Any idea how to send someone an invitation? GG, please bear with us!

Busy - all very mysterious, hope its something positive. A leave of absence will only be permitted if you let us know what you are up to, you know how nosy we can be! Take care and come back to us soon.

Hope Z and all the other poorly babes are feeling better, very clever to keep it for after the meet-up.

All this teething lark is new to us as Tessa hardly had any trouble, grumpy for a day or two then we'd spot a tooth and realise why. Its been different with Ash so far-had to buy teething powders, teething gel and dose him up on Calpol on occasions and still no sign of anything poking through. Could be in for a long haul as Tessa got her last ones at around 2yrs and a friend of hers is only just getting them at 3 Shock.

Right, have to start the day as pre-school restarts and I need to remember the routine I had sort of worked out before Easter Grin

Diege · 20/04/2006 09:12

Morning Grin!!Hi TESSA, looks like you've had a very productive morning so far Smile, some great pictures Smile. I will stop being all brat-ty and diva-like and resign myself to the fact that I DO NOT TAKE A GOOD PICTURE (I hope Grin)!!!!!!!
Teething baby continues to be a grump; has not taken any of her feed this morning, other than an ounce which she coughed over then brought back up SadBack having a sleep now, so a chance to get some brekkie Smile. DH thought it would be nice to keep dds off today (hol. club/nursery) so we could all go out somewhere after my mock test, so of course he's fast asleep upstairs while I deal with melt-down city downstairs!! Some rather nice parcels have arrived from French Connection and Mini=Boden, so keeping them as a 'treat' for getting through the day...wonder how long I'll last Grin.
Well, desperately trying to remember 'formula' for parallel parking???? And reverse round corner???At least it's only a mock, so am pretty much expected to fail Smile

goldenoldie · 20/04/2006 09:19

JenJam - how did nanny interview go?

Diege - good luck on the mock test.

My vote is to leave the pics on!

browniechick · 20/04/2006 09:23

Morning! Diege - keep calm and remember, it is only an hour (or whatever) out of your life. Relax and you'll be fine - I failed my test once before passing and thought I'd failed the second time, so just relaxed and thought what the heck, and passed! Remember to keep checking your mirrors, and make it obvious, if you just glance with your eyes, the examiner can't see that you are checking your mirror, it needs to be obvious. (that's what I was told anyway).
You'll be fine.
Can't bleiev Thomas has been teething for so long, there is no visible white sign of teeth yet!
Also on the baby rice thing - Thomas seems to like it? Agree with whoever said, he probably just thinks its milk but a bit more filling. I mean, the fomula milk also smells vile!
The nursery start intriducing food at 6 months, unless I ask them to do it earlier - they said they pretty much follow what we do at home and what we want to happen. They will put him on their menu, unless there are things we don't want him to have. They also offer the babes drinks on a regular basis so that they don't get dehydrated. Have to confess, have only just started T with anything other thatn milk - he now takes a drop of fennel tea in the morning and afternoon - he seems to like it.

browniechick · 20/04/2006 09:26

Oh yes, agree with Golden - leave the piccies on. I didn't think any of them were bad at all. Don't know what you are all fretting about. I spend half my days in big baggy tee shirts looking very un glamourous (and empathise with the big knickers comment - meant to be worn during and after pregnancy, in place of paper knickers! but bought paper knickers too and STILL wear the big knickers cos they are comfy! if v unattractive!!!!)
Oh and finally worked out the partner in crime comment Chacha - how dim am I?!
Brownie

novadandypowder · 20/04/2006 09:53

Jen - I couldn't figure out the RNBA either but forgot to ask what it meant. Had an advance last night - managed to sleep in the bedroom with DH until Nat woke at 5, and then moved upstairs to settle her for a couple of hours. Was so lovely falling asleep in DH's arms Smile.

Diege - I love French Connection Grin. And I still try to remember the formula for parallel parking, I just have to wing it and if I don't get it right first time I have to move to another parking space (not easy in London) because I just get myself into even more of a mess trying to correct a mistake.

I tried a taste of some baby rice - it is evil!!! Agree with the others that adding some milk to mashed banana/fruit is much better.

Rodeo - lol at your nose comment Grin

novadandypowder · 20/04/2006 09:58

I must stress that all the photos were taken in a short space of time and I am not continuously feeding Nat!!

Oh, and she'll probably hate me for saying it, but Londoner really reminded me of Catherine Tate.

OP posts:
babyonboard · 20/04/2006 10:11

good morning

nova - I'd say londoner remind me more of sally phillips from 'smack the pony'..lol
You obviously have the look of a female comedian!hahah

we had a nightmare yesterday..O's nappy exploded in bromley so i had to hose him down and change him in the loos..then I was feeding him in a coffee shop and didn't screw the bottle lid on properly and drenched the poor little guy with milk..i had to go to the nearest shop and buy him a new top to wear..

I did however manage to get two new pairs of shoes before all this so it was worth it!

Someone's yelling..I'll come and catch up later...

Rodeo · 20/04/2006 11:03

Morning :)

Good luck with your mock test Diege! Have a nice day out after (and opening of parcels!) Think we're off out for the day too :)

Had a Eureka moment earlier (well, dim light being switched on) I've only just realised you can take the cover off the bouncy chair to wash! It was looking so dingy and food-stained Blush Now it looks brand new :)

Well done on the 'reunion' last night Nova! No2 shouldn't be far off now!

Catch up later x

ChaCha · 20/04/2006 12:48

Hi girls,

Temperature down now, Z is back to happy self but would only go down to sleep with us. We all had a good night's sleep as a result. Am i the only one not yet weaning?

LOL :o Jenjam at comfy knick-nacks, bought some pre-preg sized ones but they don't fit - the shame! As for RNBA - had to laugh remembering first time post-baby with a house full and being totally and utterly paranoid. Much easier now but different, like being in your parents house kind of thing [shame]

Moving on swiftly - Tessasmum, I would imagine that if we check our emails there will be invites to join or ways to do things in the manager tools? Will go and have a look.

How are other teething babies? Z's nappies stink! Wonder if this comes with teething? Not being funny but he is lying on otherside of the room and it smeeeeeels sooooo bad.... sorry if TMI!

Diege - Good luck today and hope you have a fab day out.

Rodeo - LOL at your mum and 'goggle'.

We have a full house as of tomorrow night. Best get on and look domestic goddess! x

Diege · 20/04/2006 14:18

Afternoon Smile. Well, I failed the mock test, but she said it was a good test for a mock, and I had done really well, so don't feel too bad. Was VERY nervous, but managed reverse tound corner, turn in road fine. Lost lots of points on mirrors (BROWNIE!!!!!!), and Blush pulling over on double yellows when asked to pull over for a manoevre Blush - instant fail. Actually think it did me a lot of good, and really need to book in for theory test now Smile
Libby brought back her last feed too, and has been screaming the house down Sad. She has also had 2 dry nappies, so I'm staying in to assess things while dds are out wuth dh. May ring NHS direct if she brings up a 3rd/no wet nappy, though she does seem bright enough in herself (when not screaming). Has little bud of white, so teeth are coming through, but not putting this down to teething, more like a little bug I think Sad.
CHACHA: stinky poos are par for the teething course I think! - remember reading this was one of the signs?
Well have opened the FC parcel - very nice, though am having to send a few things back to exchange for bigger sizes. Cruel how the mind plays tricks!!Grin.
Diege Smile

goldenoldie · 20/04/2006 14:20

ChaCha - no, I'm not weaning either. Planning to put it off for as long as possible. Weaning will be nanny's first task!

JenJam - I'm pleased to say that I recently threw away by post-pregnancy knickers for being too big!!!. Not in my usual undies yet - but getting closer.

browniechick · 20/04/2006 14:43

Diege - when you say you lost points on mirrors, was that because you took my advice adn made it obvious? Or did you not look like you were looking iyswim??
We have been having stinky winky pooey wooey nappies Grin for ages, but still no teeth!!!!! I wish the buggers would hurry up, they are taking sooo long. But then I'll have to start cleaning them! not ready for that just yet!!! so they can take there time!!
x

ChaCha · 20/04/2006 15:12

Having a JenJam afternoon! Have discovered some new culinary delights - all that's missing is my flowery apron!

Diege - Sounds like you did well though. Hope Libby is ok. Mr. Rabbit Red Cheeks is out for the count, found myself engrossed in the The OC whilst getting him off Blush Reminded me of my teenage Beverly Hills 90210 days.

Cannot get that 'beep' song out of my head!

babyonboard · 20/04/2006 15:26

lol brownie..maybe she spent the whole time looking in mirrors on your advice and din't pay attention to the rest..heehee

(only joking diege) good going, if it's only minor faults for a mock you will fly through the proper one..
I'm too scared to start learning in london..i'd be happy with my dad teaching me on yorkshire roads..

big pants i have abandoned now..though I do often hunt for support tights when wearing a dress..i have my waistline back but when i sit down there is a definite concertina effect...

chacha..you often seem to be having a house load of guests..i love that! hope you have a great time..but don't worry too much about being the perfect housewife!

can't believe all this tething..soonwe'll be ableto see the big gummy tethy pictures onthe site..I can't wait!

oh..and the meet up pics are fab..sorry i'm not on them..and sorry for bitching for my own disorganisation..

i'm just about to go to the clinic and talk about O's weight with the h.v I really like and trust so will report back on what she says..thanks for everyones advice on it...
