How is everyone. S tripped and fell head first into
A plug socket Saturday. Took him to a and e where his head was glue and stuck down with sterile strips. He's none the worst for it but it made me wobble.
Dh back to work today. Not been too bad. A mate popped in to help with s at lunch and nap time but I had to get s up and do dinner. They told me not to lift him for 10 weeks which just isn't possible.
Got a date for a's tongue tie referral. 12th nov. 6 weeks away!

Not too much going on here other than early (far too early) starts. I think today was not long after 5. We did try to resettle her but she wasn't having it. If anyone has any tips I'd be very pleased to hear them.

chilli how many naps a day dies she have? S' sleeps in longer now he only has one a day even tho it's generally a longer one.

We are having the same problem chilli. We were also up at 5am this morning and we've been up before 6am loads this week. No chance of resettling here either - she's bounding with energy when she wakes and likes nothing more than bouncing on our heads if we try to resettle her in our bed.

DD only has one nap and the length of time she sleeps for makes no difference to what time she wakes in the morning. She has gone through a phase of early waking before and it just disappeared on its own. I am hoping that this one goes the same way...

I'll join you star & chilli in early mornings. The worst was a 5am start last week and I had to go to work at 1 til 9!

Aside from early mornings we had further drama last week when DSS was rushed to hospital with suspected appendicitis. Fortunately it turned out to be tonsilitis and the tummy pain was caused by something called mesenteric adenitis which is basically the glands in his tummy swelling up as a result of the infection! I'd never heard of it before.

This weekend R chipped one of her front teeth and now resembles the little tea cup from beauty & the beast :(

Ooh and in other news, I am currently on my last week of contraception and DP and I plan to start TTC no.2 after the new year!! I'm so excited but also a bit apprehensive as I am due to start weaning my ADs in 2 weeks time so hope it all goes well and I can stay off them!

She only has one nap at lunchtime and it makes no difference to the early start. I think she even skipped a nap last week went to bed at usual time and still woke early the next day :( I'm hoping she decides to have a lie-in soon - 7am would be good at the moment! I did notice a new molar today - maybe that's related?

And to keep with the thread title - I got her a lovely pair of purple boots at Sainsburys over the weekend :) (mummy wants some too)

We have new shoes here too. Clarks boots and trainer type things. I love that there's no VAT on kiddy shoes in the UK. I also have lots of Cadbury's. yum.

Re: early waking no thoughts but we have had a couple of nights of 4 hours awake and a bit of sleep either side.

Advice needed on DH pls! When I left for the weekend the house was messy but clean, save a bowl in the sink which I warmed him about. I know for a fact he was in all Thursday evening because we were IMing on Skype. He had to do a 10 min turnaround Friday night. I arrived home, at 10.30 after 12 hours travelling, to find the house in a worse state than I left it, an open packet of Boursin on the coffee table in the lounge with associated smell, both bins full with smell, a half full bottle of milk on the kitchen table plus a dirty cereal bowl smeared with yoghurt etc all with smell plus none of the stuff I left for his meals eaten but 2 empty pizza boxes (am fuming because we're trying to save!). Having tidied and put 3 bin bags outside I also discover he's left a chair and cushion out in torrential rain for 3 days. Plus laundry is strewn all over the bathroom. Why does he still believe in the tidying fairy? How can I teach him to pick up after himself?!

I got quite upset down the phone and he apologised as he always does but that's not what I want

I was supposed to be having a new friend over for coffee tomorrow morning but I had to cancel (at 10pm!). I said we were too late home so M would be tired but truthfully I'm deeply ashamed of the state of the house.

frak I would fume also. I'm not great with advice but not sure what more you can do than talk to him. Hit him with the soggy cushion?

Another early waker here! So relentless..... Nothing makes any difference, from what we can work out! We've lately been managing to get him to snuggle in bed with us till we get up for work at 645, but it has varied success and we often get hit in the face by flailing limbs....he didn't wake up till 7 the other day, utter bliss but sadly a fluke!

I have to make a point of telling dh my expectations regarding housework if I'm not around. Left to his own devices he won't do much, but tell him or leave him a list and he'll do it. It bugs me because I think he should be able to see the mess under his nose, but it works for both of us.

In your situation I would have left the mess then when he got home I would have told him it was unacceptable and to clear it up. We have had many a face off in this house - usually over toilet roll tubes left in the bathroom (just put them in the fucking recycling)

If we have a big job that needs tackling (we're both untidy which isn't great), I make sure we do it together. Or I do some then i make him finish it off (with lots of badgering )

Gotta go a nd put ds3 to bed, will be back ....

A 'lie in' here this morning - 6.15am . Still, a trillion times more palatable than 5am!

Poor R MrsW. I know it's no consolation but at least it's only a milk tooth and it will fall out eventually. I must admit that I did have to google the tea cup from Beauty and the Beast though - it made me chuckle!

Frak I'd be fuming too. DH isn't too bad round the house (largely thanks to my nagging) but left to his own devices he too would probably let the place go to pot. I'd be pretty pissed off in your situation though - he only had himself to look after, so could have at least kept the place ship shape. Hope you've managed to sort it (and him!) out.

How's it going flying solo Kitty ? When you get S in and out of the cot can you put a chair right beside the cot so S can climb on it then you pick him up from it and into the cot, then in reverse when he gets out? It may be a little easier picking him up from a height rather than the floor?

I am on the decluttering your house for Christmas thread. I am like a woman possessed! I have blitzed the living room and cleared out so much crap. Loads went in the bin, some in the recyling and some to charity. I've only done one room and can't believe the amount I have cleared. I should imagine that if we hired a skip I could fill it by the time I had blitzed the whole house

His cot doesn't have drop sides so its too high for him to climb . A has been a pickle this Afternoon. Just wanted to feed. Expecting a poosplosion. Eugh. Had my mum and step dad today so not really solo yet. S is still stropping at everything. He's still great with a and we think his mood is coincidence and that as he develops he's getting frustrated re communication. He's turning mummy mummy again too which is hard when I'm limited!

Eugh. S was sick in the night. I'm blaming my dsd for giving him saveloys of all things! And a has a yukky eye. He's had it since birth on and off. I squirted breast milk in it but poss not enough. Either that or it's getting it out? Call the midwife?

Oh and my scar is red and sweaty. Apologies if tmi. I'm trying to air it but my run hangs over it.

Kitty, it's probably a bit early yet but I took to going commando (sorry TMI) once my bleeding has stopped to air my scar (and long wrap around skirts). This was an in the house only thing!
The nurse at my GP also suggested a clean cotton hanky folded up over the scar - your pants should hold it in place. It'll pad it a bit and keep knicker elastic and things out of it. Also useful for checking for any bits of blood from it or weepy bits.

M had gooey eyes, I seem to recall. I think we just cleaned with water and cotton wool.

Cheers chilli I called the midwife and she said put a sanitary towel over it And it feels better already. I've booked the docs for the morning anyway just to be on the safe side.

Post section I would always lay flat on the bed and gently pat dry my scar with a big fluffy towel. I would lie there fr as long as possible to get the air to the scar.

I'm sure I would aim the shower head over it, but didn't use any shower gel. Or if you can get in and out the bath ok, put some lavender oil and tea tree oil in the water - great for healing.

Keep squirting milk in A's eye, it can take a while to clear.

Vom at savaloy. I don't think I have ever had one, am I missing out?

More de-cluttering was done today. Some stuff put on EBay and FB selling pages. The initial high of clearing shite is wearing off and it's now getting boring! Maybe this is why my house is a tip?

Sorry I can't be of any help Kitty, except for sympathy.

I think I'm having another crisis like the time I convinced myself I had cervical cancer. I hope it's just another hypochondriac episode... Last couple of nights I've had pain/discomfort in the upper right area of my abdomen. Almost under my ribs. It feels like bowels to me. I have previously had terrible constipation, where I'd have an enormous unflushable poo that would have to soak overnight before it would flush! more recently I've had a bit of diarrhoea.

Now, rationally, I was thinking perhaps a bit of a bug, perhaps some later onset IBS. However, I made the mistake of running "upper right abdominal pain" through boots web md and now it's either pancreatic cancer or schistosomiasis.

I'm going to have to see a doctor, aren't I. (Boo)
