Thanks ecuse. That's exactly it and what I'm worried about. Tt appt 22nd oct. he's been fine til this week. Being weighed fri so will see what's doing.

That's good timing then - you'll be able to keep a good eye on him. If you want to keep bf you could consider pumping now in case the TT is stopping him stimulating your supply - which is what happened to me, but I didn't start pumping till 6 weeks and my supply never recovered to the point I could EBF even after she had the snip. Midwives, HVs etc kept telling me to put her to the breast more often to boost supply but honestly couldn't see how I could feed her more often - she was bouncing on and off me probably 16 to 18 hours out of 24. Turned out of course she just literally couldn't move her tongue enough to get enough milk out and my supply gradually dwindled to almost nothing and my boobs were Biscuit Biscuit

Saying that, a) we don't know this is what's happening in your case - feeding frequently also perfectly normal, apparently not everyone feels 'full' when it's going right anyway. And b) pumping is the absolute work of the devil. I hated it with a fiery passion and really struggled to find the time (and inclination). Didn't help that I could only get 40mls on a good day mind you. And I didn't have a toddler to look after. So it's not necessarily something you want to get into. I can't in all honesty say I'd do it again. My near-obsession with maintaining BF (or flogging a dead horse!) put a serious damper on the first 4 months or so verging on PND at points. In hindsight I don't think it was worth it in my case.

But you're not me and A is not J and there's no reason things have to pan out the same way. Some babies' TT apparently stretches out as they grow and they end up feeding fine, apparently. Or if you're worried and very keen on maintaining EBF and can afford it there are lactation consultants who are registered to do the snip at your home. Think it's a couple of hundred quid. I think I would try that myself if I had another one with TT.

Cheers ecuse. Yeah not sure I have time to express unless dh home. And I hated if too. Di they do the tt there and then or book another appt? It's not a horrendous one or he wouldn't be able to feed at all.

JKSLtd · 10/10/2012 21:22

Hope the Tt stuff gets sorted.
In the meantime, go for as much sleep as you can get- if that means he sleeps with you/on you don't stress. All 3 of mine have slept in bed with us (though I fought against it more with the first 2) to start with. With dd I actually sold the crib on eBay as I realised none of my kids would ever sleep in the darn thingGrin
Hey all sleep fine in their beds now so it's not caused a prob.
Keep him nearby and let him feed lots - whilst also looking after your nips, keep he lansinoh going and try to remember good positioning. See if you can get lying down feeding sorted it does make life so much easier - I only got it with dd.

Keep going you're doing brilliantly and it'll all fly by so quickly.

There and then. She spoke to me for 5 minutes as I explained symptoms, peeked under Jo's tongue, said 'yep, posterior TT' and we went into a little room and she did it. Two minutes. They swaddled her, a nurse held her head still and the doctor just grabbed her tongue, pushed it up and did a teeny tiny snip. They have you waiting ready with your boob out so they can bung the baby straight on - partly to comfort, partly because breast milk is antiseptic. Easy peasy. Jo was a bit outraged but I think that was the swaddling/head pinning as much as the actual snip which was a split second.

By the way, posterior TT is what Jo had, means it's not as obviously visible as the standard, so more likely to be undetected, and they can usually feed a bit, as she could.

Ffs. Went to put cream on my incision this am and there was blood on the wet wipe. Got docs at 1130...useless doc Sad. They say if I need stitching I'll have to go to hosp.

kitty :( I had loads of problems with my scar after DS1, it is horrible. What cream have they given you? I used something called Dermol which is antimicrobial so keeps it all really clean and helps it to heal.
Has the scar actually opened up, or is there just a little red/sore part?

Fizz - for Tenerife, you can get UV all-in-one suits that have high necks, and then hats with those flaps over the neck and a peak. He would be really well protected in that without any need for cream.

GlaikitFizZombie · 12/10/2012 09:53

I had bleeding from my scar too, but it was the staple sites that I had the problem with because of my reaction to the metal. Think festering ear piercings. It might not be your scar opening up but a little bit that's caught

Ali, I've been looking for those uv suits. Dh is having a wobble about going abroad with B still young and is imagining all sorts of terrible things that will never happen!! So it might not happen. Maybe I should just book it and tell him once its all done.

Anyway, cm is on holiday next week so me and B are heading up the road to say with my folks for a few days! Could be interesting!!

Fizz - do it! Go now, while you just have the one Grin With your folks there as well you will actually get some downtime!
We are going away for 3 nights at the end of the month for our anniversary, to a hotel that has babysitters and a kids club so that we actually get a break. It is costing a flipping fortune compared to the time we went with just DS1 because we need a proper family room rather than just a normal double with a travel cot.

People have babies abroad Wink people relocate with them too! Go before you need to pay the extra seat on the plan, fizz

Poor you, kitty. Hope the docs can sort it and that it doesn't need stitching.

I get to POAS tomorrow. I think.

I've been thinking about you frak. Eagerly awaiting your news!

Doc has given me penicillin in addition to the flucloxacollin. She said taking two a day wasn't enough to help it heal. So now I have to take 8 and not bother with the cream which was only canesten.

Hope your scar sorts itself out soon Kitty. I had a few dodgy patches for ages. If only we had Star Trek technology to magically rejoin the skin... but then you wouldn't have needed a c-sec anyway - they'd have just beamed A out. I'm still hoping that transportation technology is perfected before I have another GrinHmm

Bloody freezing here tonight. It's starting to feel like autumn. I can't wait for firework night though. We missed it last year but I'll be dragging DD out this year!

Fingers crossed Frak Grin

Apparently not upduffed, so waiting for the evil red tide of doom to descend. Or maybe I just got the signs wrong (although I'm convinced I didn't). It's going to be awful, isn't it? Retribution for nearly 2,5 years of freedom.

On the plus side I can drink Wine

We're away for the weekend and are having a nightmare night with DD. Why does she save these specials for when we're not at home? Urgh!

No strictly spoilers pls - I'm an iplayer catcher upper!

frak - we had an a&e run Thursday night. In an ambulance no less. Jo woke in the night with vomiting, red blotches and a temp of 40 screaming blue murder. I'm afraid we panicked a bit. Did the glass test and thought we could still see the rash so called the ambulance. I could have kissed the paramedic when he strode into the bedroom, took one look at her and said "don't panic, there's no way this baby has got menengitis". Of course after that O felt pretty Blush. They brought hee in anyway to get the temp checked out but by then the Calpol had kicked in, temp had come down and she was running round giggling Blush Blush. Diagnosed with non-specific baby malaise. Back home 3am with work the next day. That'll learn me!

Frak hope you're going to test again in a few days? Sounds like you were otherwise pretty sure. But enjoy your gin in the meantime - one won't do any harm!

We have had an offer accepted on a new house! Trying desperately not to get too excited as so many things that can go wrong. But it's chain free and we're ready to go so hopefully could be only 6 weeks or so. Although annoyingly our landlord is asking us to sing a new contract till January because she knows we're buying and doesn't want us to give notice yo leave in November or December. So I think we're going to have to suck up the overlap as we can't risk this falling through and us being homeless at the last minute.
