Shiny new thread: we forgot to discuss the title this time!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Figgygal · 25/10/2012 13:25

Aw i love london visits DH hates them so we never go and with LO i guess it is harder now but after our triumphant weekend away maybe i can convince him again.

Been quiet this week DS is tottering around fine, sleeping well, banging his head on everything, very busy at work so overall nothing to report.

DSM my MIL has fybromyalgia i believe there is a very good charity around it where you can get support and info.

Excellent news Xiao congrats and i completely agree about the tom hiddlestone crush, not in Thor though as when watching that only have eyes for the god of thunder himself but he was amazing in Richard II.

Working from home again today, DH taken Figster to PIL and have just stopped for lunch.....must resist the temptation to go on next website they have amazing xmas jumpers for wee man. Week til payday, week til payday!!!

OiMissus · 25/10/2012 13:31

Ha! How good is your Bolton accent? Wink

LittleMissFlustered · 25/10/2012 13:41

I've just bought 24 selection boxes, and not a single one can I steal

OiMissus · 25/10/2012 13:50

24? ...let's see...
Aethel, xiao, seven, Kate, northern, missree, gee, bjr, dsm, mopsy, Oi,... Who are the other 13 for?

OiMissus · 25/10/2012 13:51

Figgy and hawthers... Obviously! Wink
(Yikes)

LittleMissFlustered · 25/10/2012 14:19

Toddler group shopping while they're cheap. Bleh. About to go hand them over to someone else so temptation will be out of reach!

mopsytop · 25/10/2012 14:22

Hi all! Fell into the migraine pit. Head still not great. Day 4 ugh! Only in bed for one day though, rest of time has been bad headache as opposed to unbearable migraine.

Vay jealous of xiao and Oi.

Just had article rejected with really really harsh comments (of the your research seems v pointless variety, although of course much more politely put). Devastated. Have had a good howl. Not helpful when already have bad head.

mopsytop · 25/10/2012 14:25

P.s. My research is not pointless! It's v worthwhile, whatever that particular journal editor might think. Constructive criticism is great and I'm happy to receive it (although it might sting just at first!) but that kind of harsh criticism that leaves you nowhere to go is majorly hard to take and v unhelpful :(

LittleMissFlustered · 25/10/2012 14:34

Concrit his letter, in red pen, and send it backWink

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 25/10/2012 14:42

Advantages of working in a Doctors Surgery is not having to book and appt to have blood taken Smile

Just having some chicken & mushroom soup with croutons for lunch - tastes yummy Grin

OiMissus · 25/10/2012 16:07

Message from nursery: confirmed case of chicken pox in the baby room! Apart from spots, what should I look out for?! Yikes!

LittleMissFlustered · 25/10/2012 18:07

Flu, basically. Grumpy, higher than normal temp, propensity to drink milk and sleep.

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 25/10/2012 18:24

Like LMF said, cold/flu generally grumpiness.

So tired and painful joints Sad and DH is trying to be helpful but Sad

Figgygal · 25/10/2012 19:13

I've jinxed it since he's been home he's cracked his head on a step and now has a cut along the back of it, thrown his food covered spoon all over our tablecloth and then managed to knock his bowl out of my hands all over both of us.....and the tablecloth...... And the wallpaper. Am putting him to bed early as he's a nightmare not slept since 2 and though had 2hr sleep before that had been up since 6.

Off to 24hr Tesco on a winter tights hunt as have been at home all day and need out.

OiMissus · 25/10/2012 20:40

Oh dear, how's figgyboy now? And how're you?
Should I put BOi in nursery tomorrow, or would it be safer to keep him home?

Figgygal · 25/10/2012 21:03

He's ok but he properly cried he went to bed easy enough but then the phone rang and woke him up Angry

Picking up DS smart trike Saturday can't wait it's 2nd hand off eBay got it half full price he will love it, was supposed to be his main Xmas present as my mum was going to get him a new 1 but couldn't help self when I saw 1 10 mins down the road.

3 for 2 all toys in Tesco ladies!!

Aethelfleda · 25/10/2012 21:06

Our TARDIS now has a blue light that goes on and off! (tealight holder from Wilcos, stuffed with a cheap set of mini fairy lights).
I reeeeally need to get out more...

In other news, the estate agents have both been soothing my frayed nerves. Apparently everything's fine, the vendors are patient and OK to wait for us, and our EA reckons that we are doing everything we can , the house is well enough prepped and reasonably priced , and it's just a matter or waiting for the right buyer to walk in and decide they like it (one with enough cash, anyway.) it's still a bit excruciating!

Jealous of the meetups! Well done girls.

Ooh and oi, incubation is 14-21 days for chickenpox (though if Boi was exposed at the same time as the first case he'll get it this week). 2-3 days of cold and snuffles (during whih they are catching but you don't KNOw it's CP, then the rash comes out and you go around apologising to allthe people he's contacted with in the last 48-72 hours, and stay at home for 6 days. Oh the joy. At least now they are all big enough that most of them will be ok when they get it.

NorthernChinchilla · 25/10/2012 22:18

Glad to see figgy and LMF on the 'should I put my toddler in a really naff Hallowe'en outfit' thread, I've joined you! I shall have my orange little Plumpkin going off to nursery next Wednesday, and will take loads of photos [hgrin] Mind you, sounds like you need a Hallowe'en straight-jacket for DS figgy! Hope his head's OK.

That all sounds grim mopsy, poor you. At least you're recovering from the migraine now, but I bet you're feeling awful wobby? And ignore the journal editor, you've likely bad-lucked out, iyswim, and got someone whose PHD was on the other viewpoint of your topic.

AND they probably have BO Smile. Hope things improve.

I will now always picture both of you, Xiao and Oi, with mad-chemistry-teacher eyebrows....

Our lovely plumber came round and did what he could, but couldn't fix the dishwasher. Didn't charge us though, cos he is lovely. And so given it'll be something's really wrong, and it's five years old, we'll get a new one. Parents have volunteered to chip in, which is great, as we've got a £100 car bill as well.

AWomanCalledHorse · 26/10/2012 00:55

Northen, good news on the dishwasher front! [henvy] at your luffly plumber.

LMF, how many selection boxes are left?

mopsy, what a bastard! Hope you're feeling riled up to make your article the most awesome thing he's ever read..and that you feel better soon.

Oi, hmmm, like athel says he might've been exposed to it already, so there would be no point keeping him off.
Hopefully he'll deal with it well, I don't know how hard a 10month old will find it, not knowing why they're feeling like poo & can't satisfy the itching.

Figgy, hope you have a peaceful night!

I'm having a MC now, feel annoyed that I 'knew' this one wasn't going to stick but I'm glad that; 1. I can still get pg. 2. I'm not much further along. 3. I didn't waste money booking my private scan yet!
Had my pre-booking apt today so I've got to phone GP/MW & tell them I'm not pg anymore. Would've been a fucking perfect age gap. Stupid bastard body.

Aethelfleda · 26/10/2012 06:49

((((((hug)))))) for AWCH

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 26/10/2012 06:56

(((((Hugs))))) AWCH

Feel awful Sad

Figgygal · 26/10/2012 07:22

awch sorry to hear that Sad r u sure you r MCing? Sometimes people bleed in early stages but baby Is fine? Maybe go to app anyway?

I need to put DS into size 5 nappies he's been wet every morning this week he's only just inside the weight range for them but it can't be nice for him and he's generating ridiculous amounts of washing. We have baby swim today so he might have to pong until then tho gave him a good wipe down when he woke at 6am......and then refused to go back sleep oh we'll non work day today. I'm missing an important meeting today that work asked me if I could come in for but just couldn't/wouldn't. I love my day off with figgyboy but the control freak in me doesn't like missing Fridays (if that makes sense).

Sorry to hear of snot and various aches and pains too.

AWomanCalledHorse · 26/10/2012 08:40

Figgy, bad news about the nappies! Have you tried the nighttime/drifit/maxi or whatever the brand you use calls their superdooper strength size 4's?

DS wets through the maxi dry size 4's so we have to change his nappy during the night, which is fine atm as he usually has a wake up at 2am-ish everynight.
Hope you have a good day today!!

Pretty sure; I'm on my 2nd pad today, bleeding bright red clots with back ache, stomach cramps & my left leg has, weirdly, gone dead. Just hoping it's not a ectopic or something so I can get back on the horse asap. Or DH can get back on Horse. Basically someone needs to shag a horse [hgrin]

seven77 · 26/10/2012 11:28

AWCH ((hug)), I'm so sorry, hope you get a sticky one soon.

Will catch up later.
