BOi and DH have gone for breakfast. ...So why can't I go back to sleep? Yawn.
Shall I get the vat of coffee rocking?

hawthers · 29/09/2012 07:20

Been up since 5 something, all breakfasted and on second cup of tea. It's going to be a long day....

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 29/09/2012 08:54

Just a quick one: My sisters water broke this morning and is now at hospital. Hopefully I'll be an Aunt by end of the day Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 29/09/2012 09:15

Oooh, how exciting DSM! Best of luck to her, and if we can have pictures of gorgeous little newborn I'd be delighted Grin

That reminds me, our friend's brother has just become a Dad for the first time. All great except his mother has invited herself to go and stay with the new family for the first few days probably weeks to 'help out', and 'no wasn't taken for an answer' apparently. Poor lass, I can't imagine anything worse, and it's just the classic MIL-from-hell tale you get on here that ruins the relationship forever.

Glad the doc was comforting mopsy, and really hope little MiniM gets better soon.

We're a house of plague too...does snotty nose = explosive bum? DS came home in the nursery's clothes as he'd worked his way through all the spare stuff we sent him with. He's snotty as hell but is still happy...DP is back in bed with the bug

Had a colleague's leaving do last night, only stayed til half 8 and unfortunately I got the member of staff sitting next to me at the meal and in the pub who gets a lot of wine down him and then will spend hours talking at you about politics, his family, politics, religion, trade unions, politics, and on this instance his wife's naked sunbathing...she's very well preserved for someone in her 60s apparently Confused!!

Aethelfleda · 29/09/2012 10:47

Ewww re: naked sunbathing wives! I hope you upped the ante and told him you were cornering the Essex market with your new mail-order range of diamante-encrusted his n hers vibrators and butt plugs?

Neeeed more tea.....

Yay DSM, v exciting!

Latest news: the Antilop highchair, as well as being great value, doubles as a baby walker....Gulp....

OP posts:
GeeandTee · 29/09/2012 11:21

aethel DD loves playing with the Antilop too! We're not quite at walker stage but she pushes it along on her knees.

The GP said that he really doubts DD has a dairy intolerance as if it was CMP intolerance she wouldn't have got better when we stopped her on dairy as I was still eating it and bfeeding. And a lactose intolerance would have other symptoms other than just sleeping badly. I guess it does make sense but...it just seems such an odd conincidence that the day after I give her dairy she starts waking up every half hour. He said to carry on giving dairy for 2 weeks and if she's still sleeping so badly he'll review her again. Does that sound sensible?

Good luck dsm's sister! I have FIVE friends due in October!

Figgygal · 29/09/2012 13:17

For those who have had 9mo checks do they measure head circumference? Just had to buy DS a hat (it's a gruffalo hat soon cute) in age 2-3 which seems ridiculous!!

He's just destroyed his first tuna sandwich glad dh isn't here to see the mess of the floor he hoovered and washed yesterday it's everywhere I need lunch inspiration for DS any ideas?

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 29/09/2012 14:53

I have a nephew Smile Jaxson! Born mid-day not sure of the details

seven77 · 29/09/2012 18:10

Ew northern just the mental image I'm sure you needed! I'm very glad my MIL never wants to help look after the DC's, she just visits and brings chocolate!

gee I guess that's sensible advice to see if that could be what's doing it, depends how certain you are that's what's causing it and if you want to sleep at any point during the next fortnight! If you're not sure do you think it could be worth doing a food diary to see if there's any other possibilities? Was she like it at any point before weaning?

mopsy how's minim doing today?

Congrats DSM, that's fab news! Are you and your sister close? It will be lovely for Sky having a cousin less than a year younger, DS has one 5 months younger, unfortunately they live 3 hours away but it's so cute when they play together when they come to visit.

Still no AF (shh!), nearly a week late. DH bought me a test yesterday but I forgot to do it this morning Blush, I haven't had a positive until 10 days late in my last 2 pregnancies though, not sure about with DS as I didn't know when I was due.

LittleMissFlustered · 29/09/2012 18:57

Pee on the damn stick woman!

Need coffee.

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 29/09/2012 19:01

Seven Thanks. Fingers crossed you get a BFP.

DSis had a really quick labour cow first time and active labour calculated at 2.5hrs. My first labour was 10.5 Envy. Baby's heart rate kept dropping during transition so they needed to get baby out, she ended up with episiotomy and burst a blood vessel on her cervix which needed stitches and ended up losing 2 pints of blood which resulted in blood transfusion. Haven't seen them yet. Only hearing things from mum. Seen a pic and he is a diddy little boy and spitting image of his dad!

We are sort of close but not majorly. She does think a lot of my girls tho.

Jaxson Sidney 6lbs 8oz Smile

Aethelfleda · 29/09/2012 20:11

Newsflash: Aldi do mini cheescake dessert things (strawberry or lemon varieties) 3 for £1.09. They are yummy and completely unsuitable diet food. You will now be returned to your usual programming.

And I agree seven, pee on the stick already!!!

gee I had a friend whose baby had a terrible time with eczema and with severe CMP allergy. the allergy doctors at St Thomas's (they are great) told her that it depends on how intolerant a baby is of cows milk protein. The more mildly allergic babies are OK with mums breastmilk when mums are eating dairy, but react when they are given dairy directly. Only the ten percent of babies who are most highly allergic will react to any dairy in their BF mums diet too. So it can be worth doing a Nutramigen trial for two weeks even if baby was OK on your breast milk when you ate dairy. But It should be something you agree with your doctor rather than just doing cos a random bint on the internet recommended it!

More tea, vicar?
