The tartan necker is the business. I'll take a picture of her next week looking all green:o

OiMissus · 27/09/2012 21:50

That sounds tres uncomfortable seven. Vent away.
Gah for your DH's job situation, hope he finds something soon and can tell them to shove it.
I hope that we'll catch BOi's steps over the weekend on video. - I'll need it to keep me going when I'm away from home all next week. -I have loads of videos on my phone. Smile

LittleMissFlustered · 27/09/2012 22:31

All hail the shiny tech!

Aethelfleda · 27/09/2012 23:58

hiya. viewing tomorrow when am at work. So havespent last three hours tidying house. Only consolation is saw two houses today, one shockingly overpriced (rotten sills, crap layout, v dated, everything stank of fags) and one rather do-able: only downers are 1) I'd lose my lovely kitchen-diner (it has a 10 ft square kitchen but no room for a table due to layout. I reckon we could redesign it eventually) and it's close to an electricity substation (but I can't hear it in the house/garden and google says it's not a health hazard). It's one of the first houses I've thought weight actually be able to go for, and much nicer street than the other house we saw for a similar price. Hmm. Would need to see if we could negociate though as the askingprice is beyond our means. Need a buyer for ours first really. Anyway, it's not perfect, but it's a possible which is progress!!

Puking bug-wise, hope the Doc was OK with you: it's quite usual for beebs to puke for 24-48 hours and then the runs kick in for up to seven days, so actually it's not worrying jn itself. What is important os that baby doesnt get dehydrated (but you're onto that, I heard you mention dioralyte).hope things improve soon!

hawthers · 28/09/2012 06:43

Gah rough night over here. DS1 vomiting and DS2 teething. Oh dear bob how long do those top teeth take to come through. We've been at this for ages.

mopsytop · 28/09/2012 07:10

aethel she's been puking for seven days! Is that normal? Only got runs on day 7 of puking...

GeeandTee · 28/09/2012 09:50

seven yes I reintroduced dairy on Tuesday, she was ok that night, then we had the waking every half hour Weds night and last night was even worse. Thing is, she's absolutely fine and happy in the day, it just seems to affect her sleeping. Also strange that it didn't have an immediate effect on Tuesday night.

I tried her with lactose-free milk and cream cheese last week and her sleeping got worse, although not as bad as the past few nights. At the time I just thought it was a coincidence but now I'm thinking maybe she has cow's milk protein intolerance.

Will mention it to GP today as he's going to look at her lip. I would like to start replacing the breastfeeds in the day with formula, is soya the only option? I'm not keen on soya really, worried that it affects hormones and its all genetically modified too.

GeeandTee · 28/09/2012 09:51

mopsy if I were you I would take her back to the GP today just for reassurance, and to avoid the OOH drs at the weekend (who, around here anyway, are really really awful).

Figgygal · 28/09/2012 18:25

News of the day figgyboy has teeth.....well a tooth.....well the top of one just gave him a bath and spotted it. FINALLY was starting to think he wouldn't get any ever and would just gum food forever Grin. A bit worried that he will be a nightmare with them and I am on my own for a week from tomorrow morning so on 100% boy duty which is quite scary. Even scarier is the fact that I am going to have to cook for both of us For a week.

Other good news of day is I've survived baby swim class 2 without the searing muscle pain I encountered last week. One problem I have encountered however is that the baby change cubicles are always and then as there are more of us on the class then there are cubicles. Last week I had to pop him on the floor wrapped in towels while I got dressed, this week I brought the pushchair with me so I thought he could go in there however the wheels are too big and it didn't go through the door so again he ended up on the floor is that what others do? Any other suggestions?

Dh is currently cooking a guilty curry for us for dinner since its our last meal together until he gets back next Saturday night......plan is lots of x factor and other non approved tv to be enjoyed without all his complaining Grin

Figgygal · 28/09/2012 18:27

That should have said cubicles are always full bloody Siri

MrsDeterminedandSpecialMum · 28/09/2012 18:43

I'm a proud mummy & grand-daughter today.

Darcie got person of the week at school. For all her hard work, excellent homework & settling into yr3 well. Grin

My nan had Gastroscopy today and she didn't freak out too much and the result is all is normal Smile

Darcie is at my mums tonight. So Ryder Cup & Dominos is in order for our evening hehe.

mopsytop · 28/09/2012 18:45

More projectile vomiting here, will it ever end? GP said still looks like a bug, just v long lasting but if it gets worse to call ooh doctor or lasts longer than middle of next week to get back to him. He was very reassuring. I love that particular GP. Our practice in general is excellent but he's just brilliant, always really listens and takes you seriously. I managed to get her to vomit on the wooden floor today. I cunningly fed her only near a big space of floor. So cleaning up was a bit easier.

figgy I end up putting her on the floor too, pools just don't seem to have changing facilities designed for babies. One of the pools we go to the floor is concrete and gets soaked, so it's a bit of a nightmare in fact! We are having dirty frozen pizza (Dr. Oetker margarita yum!) and wine tonight, I can't wait! It has been a trying day (week).

Hope you all have lovely plans for the weekend. I am working.

BJR · 28/09/2012 19:27

Hope minim is feeling better soon, sounds like you've had an exhausting week.

Figgy when I take DS swimming at my gym it's easy as they have a playpen in the changing rooms and its never very busy. When the 4 of us go to the local swimming pool its a bit of a nightmare. I tend to try and get dressed as fast as I can, mostly one handed while trying to stop DS climbing on the benches with the other hand!

DP is away tonight enjoying a fancy dinner, night out and a hotel all funded by one of his contractors. I'm very Envy, although looking forward to a peaceful evening with my book and a takeaway.

DS is no longer spotty but instead has gunky eyes, am just using cotton wool and water to clean them at the moment. Anyone know if you can get anything over the counter for it or am I going to have to try and get a GP appointment? Nursery won't take him if its not cleared up by Tuesday and I have no back up childcare!

hawthers · 28/09/2012 19:40

Get some infective eye drops from the pharmacy. Should work well I think. If you can get the boost things in his eye...

LittleMissFlustered · 28/09/2012 19:56

I had cream for octoboy's gunky eye when breastmilk failed to clear it up, but it was prescribed. I have no idea if you can get it on minor ailments, it's worth ringing your pharmacist and asking though:)

OiMissus · 28/09/2012 21:05

Evening all, BOi has shoes!
They're "cruisers" from Clarks. They are soft bottomed, and will only be worn in the pram in cold weather, but nursery asked for wellies in the wet, so I thought I'd better get advice. He has 4H sized shoes for his fat-up-top feets. Grin
We then had yo sushi ( he had fruit and pancakes), I had sashimi and rare beef bits. GrinGrin
Then I spent lots of money on us. He got White Company pyjamas and a dressing gown. I got a skirt, 4 tops, and wanted to buy some boots, but they insisted they only had the display pair, and I was tired, so I said I wouldn't bother. - I didn't believe her. It was Selfridges, they were size 5 - we all know they had more than 1 pair in stock.
I'll try the local retail park tomorrow. I need some for next week.
I heart shoppi!

LittleMissFlustered · 28/09/2012 21:13

Cruisers are deal for toddler groups with stupidly cold tile floors too:o

Did you have the obligatory daft photo taken by the youngest and most inept staff member? 'tis the rules!

I'm off to bed. Been a long week. Boo is mending, no rash left, just a rather nasty coldsore. The elder minion seems to be coming down with it though, her throat is red raw:(

Night all, may it be uninterrupted and filled with good dreams!

seven77 · 28/09/2012 21:27

gee I know you can get formula which is soya and dairy free but I don't know anything about it. If she needs specialist formula it might be worth a chat with your HV or GP, I get Eva's on prescription.

Good luck looking for boots oi.

DSM well done to Darcie and your nan :)

DD had no more vomiting after last night, though I think DS is getting a cold. He's been a bit snotty today, getting worse towards bedtime. I expect him to wake up full of cold in the morning. I've heard nothing from my parents, my mum normally turns up unannounced on Frudag night but obviously hasn't dared!

seven77 · 28/09/2012 21:28

Gah, Friday!

Sorry the other one is getting it LMF :(

Aethelfleda · 28/09/2012 21:43

Yawn. Am knackered and me back hurts. Low back ache is the pits.

.

dH has gone out to a friends' boardgames night (I will get to go next month!) so have stuffed cheeky tesco effnic curry ready-foods for dinner. Frozen stuffed parathas and dahl are fab!

Oh dear mopsy, didn't realise it was that long! Sometimes after puky bugs babies find it hard to tolerate solids, esp dairy ones, for a while. But usually wears off quite soon so hopefully wi be temporary...gp sounds v sensible.

gee rather than soya, if babies are dairy allergic the GP can prescribe Nutramigen which is modified formula. It tastes a bit grim but the cows milk protejn is chopped up to fool the body that it's not from a cow. Most GPs don't prescribe soya formula nowadays cos babies can be allergic to that too.

House spotless and echoey and cold. Am mightily sick of this on the market lark, and grumpy there's not what we want to look at out there. So many houses, and just not where or what we are looking for...

LittleMissFlustered · 28/09/2012 21:53

I am stalking a sofa on gumtree. Don't mind me!

BJR · 28/09/2012 21:58

Gee the formula my HV recommended for DS was Nutramigen she said that its a much better alternative to soy formulas. Its amino acid based so can be used if there is milk, soy or gluten allergies. DS seems to be doing ok with it so far, but GP is very reluctant to prescribe it due to cost. HV had to contact the surgery to get them to sort the prescription, so HV might be a good place to start.

OiMissus · 28/09/2012 21:58

(Yes - silly photo taken by silly girl!)
Fingers crossed that the bugs bugger orf for everyone. BOi's still coughing. But he's ok.

OiMissus · 28/09/2012 22:01

No chai, thanks. Am well into a bottle of Rioja. Wink
And... I think that Friday's meeting has been cancelled, so I may be able to come home on Thursday evening now! (Mon-thurs will be sooooooo much better than min-fri!)
Happy weekend y'all!
