Well Dream I've always said nothing says 'me time' like the dentist HmmGrin

I googled ergo discounts I think biscuits. The born website said I just had to put mums net in the code box. It didn't register straight awAy so they applied it retrospectively for me when I emailed them!
D had quite a high temp last night after jabs and a really different cry that I hadnt heard before so I knew he wasn't right. He also became a bit snotty in the night. Today he has just wanted to feed and sleep but only on me so this is the first time I have put him down without crying(him, not me)
I must go and do a few jobs while he is happy!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 19/07/2012 15:03

Grin at dentist me time. And Shock at that woman, Dream. What's so great about identical twins? (says the non-identical twin who is not biased in any way whatsoever)

Wants, poor little D. Hope he's feeling better now.

Biscuitsandtea · 19/07/2012 15:21

Scarlet does your DH wear the ergo much? An I right in thinking you got the sport one to accommodate his tall- icity

Hope D is feeling better Wants - poor wee mite xx

scarletfingernail · 19/07/2012 17:20

Biscuits I got the Ergo sport for DH because of his height. The shoulder straps are apparently longer. He's not actually had opportunity to use it yet though. Whenever we go out altogether (rare these days, he's working so much) it usually involves DS wanting to run around with him so I end up with DD. It's fine on me though. Have you decided yet?

Yay for being blister free Dream. Did you say anything to the rude woman?

I'm due some me time soon. Got my reminder through for my smear test Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 19/07/2012 17:31

Oooh now there's a real luxury Scarlet. Proper pampering.... HmmHmm

Still not decided on the ergo. I can't decide if I'll get my money's worth? I think I will. But I want to be sure. I took ds2 out in the bb today to get ds1 from nursery and it was ok but I just feel like he's sort of plastered to me? Like he's sort of pinned. I wonder if the ergo seems more comfy for them, and I think I'll be less keen to use it (the bb) once he'd be facing outwards for the exact same being-pinned-to-me reason. I think it would be more comfy to be piggy backing them? But then is it weird not being able to see them? I feel like it must be better for me to carry ds2 in terms of burning more calories Smile.

At this rate he'll have grown out of needing one before I make my mind up!

In other news though my pacapod arrived and is lovely :)

FFS - when I sell something on eBay as 'collection only - buyer must collect' and then I specify in the details that I won't post it (because of the size of it) why does some f@%kwit win the item and then ask me to post it to him?

I hate eBay!

No idea biscuits but must be a numpty. I've emailed a few times and asked if u can arrange a courier myself. Mostly they say no, so i don't bid. Simples. It seems some are less able in the common sense department

scarlet you've reminded me I've got more 'me time' coming, I'm way overdue a smear as I had to cancel as i was pg with the dts... Oh how I hate smears Confused

biscuits, DD is still on my back in the Boba carrier a fair bit now at 22 months. Means I'm hands free if I've got the double not triple buggy and she won't walk, or not in the right direction needs carrying. Am considering a buggy board for it though...

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 19/07/2012 20:52

Hee hee, loving all the tales of me time. Tries to forget the fact that I have an evil dentist appt of my own next week

Scarlet I missed a smear test "invitation" back in Jan due to being pregnant, so I mentioned it to my GP at the postnatal check. He told me that I should wait until I've stopped bfing to have the test, because otherwise all the hormones flying around can cause discrepancies in the test. (Meaning they might think there's something abnormal on the smear test results, requiring further embarassing and invasive tests, when actually there's nothing wrong apart from minor changes caused by the bfing hormones.) Just wanted to let you know, might be worth letting your GP know you're still bfing before booking in the test.

Biscuits how annoying! Maybe just take his address anyway and then send him a brief note in the post with a printout of the item description and the bit about no postage highlighted Grin

Dream Shock at the old bag (lady)! Some people have absolutely no idea how to interact with other human beings!!

I know most of the mini No Brookers are older than A, so this is old news for most of you, but just this week A has started "talking" and its sooooooooooo cute!! She's been making baby noises for weeks now, but this is the first time she's really stared directly at me and clearly made noises to me. The range of sounds has suddenly broadened, and I just love her earnest expression as she leans forward and tries to "tell" me something important! Grin I'm getting all soppy and PFB again now, it's just heart-breakingly sweet!

Biscuitsandtea · 19/07/2012 21:13

GrinSmile at DD's cute talking Scream I know just what you mean! Do you like me then attempt to turn it into a conversation by making up what she's telling you?

I replied to my numpty purchaser saying something along the lines of: 'I've received an invoice request which seems to be asking me to post the item. I'm not sure if this is some sort of system generated email as the item description clearly says its too big to post. Just let me know when you'd like to collect (and I even offered to drop it off as I'm passing that way at the weekend).

He responded and offered to collect tomorrow so it seemed to work Smile

scarletfingernail · 19/07/2012 22:00

Thanks for telling me that Scream I had no idea. In fact I was only made aware of the fact that I'm due one from attending my 6 week post natal check. I was just told I had to wait 12 weeks from the birth and they didn't mention anything about BF. DD has her 12 week jabs next week so I'll mention it then. Every time I've ever had a smear I've always been recalled for another one afterwards (which then comes back fine) so I know I usually end up having 2 for 1 anyway Grin

I love the cute talking too. I could sit and chat with DD for hours Smile But DS likes to muscle in and take over. They're sooooo cute together. He's still so taken with her. She loves him so much, he only has to say hello to her and she's gummy grinning at him immediately. Warms the cockles of my heart it does Grin

DreamingOfPeace · 19/07/2012 22:24

Ooh, maybe a smear delay, marvellous :)

My boys warmed the cockles of my heart today too. They were doing naked kicking time as usual but then were talking to each other and holding eye contact for ages. So gorgeous. I've even put a pic on to be all PSB and PTB about them Grin

DreamingOfPeace · 19/07/2012 22:26

Oh,and one of my bouncy chairs broke tonight. You rate the baby bjorn one don't you scarlet? What's reasonable to pay second hand?? Am on ebay...

Biscuitsandtea · 19/07/2012 22:30

I've just bought one Dream for I think it was £45ish inc postage from eBay - love it too. Would have lived a new one more but needs must and all that Smile

OP posts:
TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 19/07/2012 22:33

Oooh, I love the talking too! PSB moment, though: yesterday M fell asleep in her swinging chair while I was cooking. I spent the next 20 minutes tiptoeing around the kitchen going 'she's asleep! In her chair! She is soooo adorable! Look at her being so cute as to sleep in her chair!' Blush

I bought a Bumbo on Ebay here if you don't know what one is. Have high hopes that M will actually sit in it - have read that they are a bit like Marmite for babies.

Scream, did you ever finish the Shred? I got about as far as Day 5, but I was Googling Shred before and after pics today and they look pretty amazing. Am somewhat inspired and intend to start again. Maybe tomorrow...

I am also due a smear test - seem to remember that the GP told me to wait 3 months or so and book one. In fact, I got a letter from the surgery telling me to make an appt a couple of months ago and promptly forgot about it. My last one was in 2005. Blush In fact, I've only ever had the one.

Biscuits, M loves facing forward in the BB. She also likes the Ergo, but my boobs tilt her backwards so she can see out quite well. DH was wearing it today and she doesn't tilt out with him. Hmm Think it was designed for flat chested women, like everything else. I wore M in the BB facing out into the supermarket the other day because I had an epic fail at getting the car seat out of the new base we got and to listen to the Tesco assistants you'd think no one in the whole history of BBs had ever walked into a supermarket wearing one. First the woman at the deli counter and then the man at the till. 'Ooooh, that's a clever thing you've got there. She can see where she's going!' Um, yes, I believe that is the point. Hmm

I booked a hair cut for Saturday morning, at 10 am, rashly. It takes me 35 mins to get to the hairdresser and park, so I'll have to be up, showered, dressed and wearing lots of makeup to take away the horror of staring at my face in the mirror for 45 mins, by 9.25 at the latest, having already fed M and left some milk with DH. Must express tomorrow, not at the last minute on Saturday morning. It sounds like a very tall order.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 19/07/2012 22:35

Dream, that is the most adorable photo! Must take more naked photos of M.

Biscuitsandtea · 19/07/2012 22:35

Awwwwwww Dream - that photo is just toooooooooo adorable!!! That is just the cutest thing.

Obviously a shame they're not identical but still... WinkGrin *

Seriously though - that is just amazing Smile

Are we supposed to be doing naked kicking time? Is this another thing I've overlooked along with tummy time?

Biscuits love your response to the ebay muppet - nicely handled. Also, I too spend my day in "conversation" with DD although to be fair I did that even before she started "talking" to me Blush

Scarlet your DD and DS sound so cute together! Dream your photo of the twins is just too gorgeous, that must be amazing to watch! I am getting soooooooo broody for DC2... At this point I can hardly imagine waiting 3 years to start the adoption process, I just want to get pregnant again asap and bury my head in the sand about the 6 months of being unable to walk! Irrespective of my insane broodiness however, my patented contraception method (arguing-incessantly-with-DH) is still going strong, luckily Hmm

Too I love your PSB moment! Grin Sometimes you just look at them and they are so ridiculously cute that you just have to gush or you'll explode!

PetWoman · 19/07/2012 23:30

Loving the cute baby stories! DS has a snotty cold again following our trip to London, and he does this little thing that just melts my heart. Obviously the snot isn't that endearing though.

I tried having him outwards-facing in the BB just this weekend and he loved it! So now I'm wondering if an Ergo-type sling would be as good? I can turn him inwards if he's tired in the BB so don't think that's a real problem, but the crotch-dangling and being able to carry him comfortably (for me) when he's bigger are still a concern.

Also wondering about investing in a Maclaren as I'm fed up of trying to manoeuvre my wide buggy round town. Biscuits I blame you for this temptation! Grin

PetWoman · 19/07/2012 23:32

Oh - naked kicking time? Where do we do that ?

PetWoman · 19/07/2012 23:33

I mean to minimise the wee-mopping and wet baby-washing...

pommedechocolat · 20/07/2012 03:21
