Realised I've started sounding like that daft bloody Gillian mckeith with this poo obsession Grin

MamaMaiasaura · 05/05/2012 09:39

Arf @ ipswitch aka Gillian. But Sad poor Nate, you could try taking sennacot yourself and hope it goes through to him. It's so hard when they are in pain and you can't make them feel better, tho it sounds like bfing is giving him comfort. Something I did with ds (which can be messy) was nurse him in a deep warm bath....

Right poogate saga continuing hereConfused tears and lots of noisy red faced, snot and tear steaming for one solitary turd which was hard too Sad. However I have hope as at least it came out.

ipswichwitch · 05/05/2012 10:20

Haha, was literally going for the senokot when I heard him straining away. He has had a (giant peanut buttery) poo!!!!! :)
And he's already back to his usual smiley self bless him.
Feel a bit silly now for the epic lack-of-poo post. Maybe I should rant on here more often about stuff that's not happening........you know we never win owt on the lottery.......... (lives in eternal hope Grin)

MamaMaiasaura · 05/05/2012 11:06

Grin yay for poo ipswich

MamaMaiasaura · 05/05/2012 13:36

Poo news Grin lunch proved instrumental in a "soft" big poo. Not without tears but still, a poo! Lol

Jnice · 05/05/2012 16:49

So pleased the poo situation is improving Grin

Leo is doing well with solids. Yesterday he smeared avocado everywhere but did get a good amount in. Broccoli was a hit too. I have ordered that pineapple slicer Smile

LittlePebble · 05/05/2012 19:15

Hi all, yay for poo ipswitch and mama

After mammoth week working every day (press launch of shop happened thursday) I've finally had some time with my boy and he slept for 3hrs this morning. Longest nap ever! He's been really smiley since I think he hadn't slept much in daytimes as was unsettled between grandmothers and I was stressed so I think having me back and relaxed made all the difference.

Gutted about boobs mine are already different they've lost their fullness on the top Sad don't want to know what they'll be like after I finish bf.

E has had cauliflower cheese and dish tonight hoping he'll sleep better he was up 3 times last night but not hungry just teeth I think.

Jnice sympathy for your boobs I had that milk blister for weeks and it was agony.

Cheshire I saw a 10 week old little girl last week and got really broody. We can't start trying until after the wedding though so waiting til October Wink

LittlePebble · 05/05/2012 19:16

Fish not dish! Grin

elgoldenflower · 06/05/2012 10:36

First night for L in his own room and he woke every 1.5 hours insisting on cuddles or feeds. Can anyone give me a pep talk...? Does this get better when they get used to it or is he just not ready. Doing under HV advice that he'll probably drop a night feed Hmm

I know I probably need to give it a week before I give up but not sure I'll get that far... Help, advice please Confused

elgoldenflower · 06/05/2012 10:39

He's now napping soundly while I attempt to express but not sure my body's going to be able to produce much. Must get very early night tonight!

MrsHende · 06/05/2012 12:38

I have no advice el, but going someone else will! I was hoping that when L goes into her own room she might drop a night feed too, let us know how it goes over the next few nights.

Beautiful day here, must get out into the sunshine before it disappears! L was at her first BBQ yesterday - wrapped up in cardigan and jacket!

MrsHende · 06/05/2012 12:38

'hoping' not 'going' Blush

mamij · 06/05/2012 12:40

Just found this thread marking my place.

Penelope1980 · 06/05/2012 20:56

el it will get better - we did find though that you can only do one thing at once ie move baby to own room, then after a while try and drop a dream feed.

Well I am off to work now ... (looks at baby and feels sad)

OP posts:
strawberrypenguin · 06/05/2012 21:50

el it will get better he just needs a little time to adjust to the different night time surroundings and sounds. When he wakes for just a cuddle go in let him know your there but try not to spend to long with him, get him settling then leave. He will drop the feed when he's more confidant in his sleep security I think. I think W dropped his night feed about 4 weeks after going into his own room (he is and always has been ff though don't know if that makes a difference) hope tonight goes well.

Engelsmeisje · 07/05/2012 17:42

el M decided when to drop his feeds and we followed him, but once he'd dropped a feed for a few consectutive nights we wouldn't feed him if he woke up for it, but give him dummy/put on mobile. Now he's been sleeping through for a few months, if he does wake up then I usually put the baby phone lullaby on. I try not to go in/pick him up if I can help it as this tends to wake him up more.

MamaMaiasaura · 07/05/2012 19:42

jnice happy birthday :) have you had a good day? X

LittlePebble · 07/05/2012 19:58

Happy birthday Jnice Grin

Jnice · 08/05/2012 05:08

Thanks :)

The big 4-0. I thought it wouldn't bother me but I'm still so unfit and lots of pounds to lose I'm feeling it. You're as old as you feel but I feel way older than 40 right now.

Nothing some sleep and exercise wouldn't fix.

Just been for a massage which was wonderful. DH spoiled me a lot too so all in a a lovely day.

But we had Leo's 6m checkup and I was a bit annoyed to be told I should be giving cereal as Leo MUST HAVE IRON RIGHT NOW! Grrr. She was just reciting from her book and didn't really have anything to add, or have any knowledge of BLW. She also told me I have to wait 3 days between all foods but I have read that it really isn't as important at 6m. Any thoughts on that anyone?

el hope L is giving you better nights.

Penelope1980 · 08/05/2012 08:23

Happy birthday jnice

Gosh you lot have been quiet recently? Is it one of your holiday weekends in the UK?

OP posts:
Engelsmeisje · 08/05/2012 08:36

Grin pen! Was just thinking the same thing! I was back at work yesterday after a week half term. But, Thurs and Fri and bank hols here next week, and then a week later I have Whitsun bank holiday as well. Am counting down the days until the end of the school year..we finish on 30th June this year so it's really not that far away. My mum and dad will be here a week on saturday, am so looking forward to seeing them.

Happy birthday jnice! For the first few weeks we stuck to new foods every 3 days, but now we're a bit more lax about not waiting so long and mixing things. I was a bit careful with strawberries as DH sometimes has a slight allergic reaction to them, but nothing from M.

We have solved the donk, donk by putting the side cushion back in M's bed, low down by his hips..so we can sleep again!

beautiful day here, quite fresh but sunny. Am going to do a one hour blitz of the house and then go up stairs and try and sort out my wardrobe.

freaked myself out about how huge I am post baby. Found a list of measurements I made 4 years ago of waist/bust/hips and my waist is enormous! I don't want to be the fat bridesmaid when my sister gets married in October (she's a size 6 and the other bridesmaid is an 8/10). Am not buying any snacky stuff for the cupboard (and am going to find the most unflattering pictire of my stomach to stick on the biscuit tin). I know that I'm running, but it's only 2 or 3 times a week and not enough to sort out my stomach. Anyone got an recommendations for good fitness videos?

I'm just so greedy! I honestly find it hard to stop eating.

MamaMaiasaura · 08/05/2012 08:36

jnice only food I've avoided is honey. I haven't introduced a food at a time at all Blush just let her try whatever we were having. Obviously not things like crisps, heavily processed or salty food. I've not got many years till my 40th, 37 in July and the past 20 years have gone so quick.

pene yes bank holiday weekend, Smile

Penelope1980 · 08/05/2012 09:06

engel at least October is a long way away I guess ... ? I am trying to lose the last bit of weight by A's 9 month date, as I like the idea of 9 months on, 9 months old Smile

I've been at work the last 2 days and am exhausted. I missed my baby terribly, but do like my job so when I was busy doing that was happy and adjusted faster than I thought I would given it's only day 2. But, having said that, I wish it wasn't 5 whole days in a row, and am already looking back to my SAHM period (ie last week haha) wistfully at how nice it was. My DH is off for the next 4 months at least, and both he and baby seem perfectly happy.

Pene it's lovely that DH will be off with A whilst you are at work at first. I suggested to my DH the other day that when I go back to work in October (hoping to win the lottery before then) that he could have a work off with P and the dog and cat - he looked horrified! I have a few months to work on him though Grin. Glad work doesn't sound too bad.

Jnice you don't look 40. I seemed to use a face wash or something (not sure what caused the reaction) yesterday and DH said "what have you done to your face it looks burnt"? Yeah thanks for that, it's now stinging and my under eyes are really dry and FULL of wrinkles and I am "only" 35 - although in my head I still think I am 23 and not sure where the time in between went. We have not waited between foods. A couple of times I have thought I have given P too many choices at once but she seems to have coped - I can see she already picks out things she prefers when there are about 5 different options on her tray.

MIL was freaking out at the weekend when P coughed whilst eating her cheese on toast "she's choking, she's choking". Er, no, she coughed once, calm the hell down women!

Engel P has been in her cot in her own room since end of Jan. She does NOT sttn Sad. We had 2 really good nights last week but last night and the night before were rubbish. I think her teeth are annoying her now. At first I did sleep in the nursery when she first slept in her own room, so that helped a bit because I could keep pressing the music thing back on before she fully woke.

sassy34264 · 08/05/2012 10:19

hello.

happy belated birthday jnice massage sounds wonderful.

glad you are enjoying work pene

cheshire i dont think my boobs have changed that much tbh, but they were never neat/pert/perky anyway!

ive been a bit off the last 2 weeks- hence the lack of posts. i was getting myself stressed out and was very down. i dont know why. it came to a bit of a head when i saw dd1's face when i was or so i thought just getting wound up. i realised i was screaming and crying at the same time whilst waving a knife about. (i was in the middle of chopping tomatoes) she looked scared and shocked.
Blush

ive spent a lot of time screaming or crying a lot in the last 2 weeks. it seems to have gone as quickly as it came. Confused

anyway, everything is going well with eva. she is mostly sleeping through still, but we have had the occasion 4am or 6am wake ups. she was sick in her cot the other night. it was from her waist to her head and i had fed her strawberries and bananas, so it was a lovely shade of pink. her face was grey though. it looked like how i would think a dead person would look. frightened me a lot. i kicked dp out of bed and she slept with me- didnt sleep well though, as you can imagine. no side effects, she ate fine the next day. i fed it to the twins as well and they were fine- so not sure what caused it.

eva cant crawl yet but she does do a very good commando impression. she can reach out and drag herself across the carpet! with that, and rolling front to back and back to front and turning 360 degrees, she can more or less get anywhere! gulp- its going too fast.........
