Hello Cycle. I've been wondering what you've been up to. Tell us all about the parent's group.

Awful news about your friends sister Kitty. I hope it is treatable.

I found toddler I standing on the window ledge this afternoon. I nearly had a bloody heart attack. He thought he was very clever Hmm

Dh has bought me a Kindle (I am piss sick of having loads of books knocking about). I feel a traitor to the hardcopy tbh, but do like the Kindle

Glaikit · 09/07/2012 21:22

The kindle is not there to replace books iLike, it's there to make reading more accessible and your living room tidier

Kitty, that is awful news for your friend :(

Weather is not looking good for our holidays next week. I've just ordered myself some fat calf Wellies and got b som in size 3. They are too cute. And he looked please as punch plodding rouund the living room in them earlier. But regardless of the weather our cottage is nice a homely so we don't have to go anywhere if we don't want to. We get eggs and veg from the farm every morning, and we can go berry picking for strawbs and rasps! I feel some jam making coming on!

Work tomorrow first though. Boo

ecuse · 09/07/2012 22:11

Ooh Fizz where did you get fat wellies?

Aussie are you still about? Pretty sure I saw you walking up Green Lanes on Saturday lunchtime Grin

Joanna started walking last week. I'm so proud you'd think no baby had ever learned to walk before.

Starshaped · 09/07/2012 22:55

Go Joanna Smile. I also felt ridiculously proud when my PFB took her first steps. I think we're allowed to!

Fizz the holiday sounds blissful. I'm sure you'll have a fab time whatever the weather. Wellies sound very cute though. Just wondering how tall B is? P's feet are 4.5 already - eekk. I'm now worrying she's going to have massive feet and be made to endure a lifetime of unstylish clodhoppers... She seems to be quite tall though so maybe there's a correlation.

Good to hear from you Cycle. Hope everything is good with you and H.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 10/07/2012 08:20

Well done Joanna Smile IMO any baby taking their first steps is amazing.

Toddler I has size 6 feet star. He is huge in every way. Tall, chubby, huge feet and hands. Saying that, the chub is slowly melting away now that he is walking.

I still feel knackered today. I am blaming it on having my niece and nephew for the weekend. It has nothing to do with constantly staying up until silly o'clock and reading the Fifty Shades trilogy back to back Blush

Your cottage sounds lovely Fizz, room for a not so little one?! Grin

ecuse · 10/07/2012 09:19

Size 6?!? I don't think Joanna is a 3 yet. Although she has inherited my ridiculous feet - short, wide, deep. Like little cubes on the end of her legs. There are no strappy sandals in her future.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 10/07/2012 09:54

Those last two sentances just made me lol ecuse Grin

Why am I arsing around on MN when I have stuff to do?!

ecuse · 10/07/2012 10:06

I might crack on with 50SOG soon. If you can't beat 'em...
I mostly ignored J and stayed up too late caning the Hunger Games trilogy last weekend. LOVED IT.

Kittycatcat · 10/07/2012 12:00

Thanks ladies. She's started treatment already.

Had the midwife this am. Measuring 30cm at 29+1. Heard his heartbeat Grin. Back on iron syrup again Sad

Yay for j walking Smile star

Welcome back chilli and cycle

I love my kindle ilike. And I loved fifty shades Wink

Have a dab hol fizz

Glaikit · 10/07/2012 13:24

Amazon ecuse. I goggled far calf Wellies and it was one of the first links. I bought these but there were loads.

I'm not sure how tall b is. He can fit under the tray of his high hair, only just! And his forehead is at striking height of my glass (bought preB) dining table. He is going to be a mishmash od heights and feet sizes if dh and I are anything to go by. I'm 5'and a fart, with size 4 feet, dh is 6'2 with size 13 feet. If he falls somewhere in the middle I'm happy!!

I don't do stroppy sandals either. I have trotters not feet. All stumpy and square. Thong flip flops are my nemesis!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 10/07/2012 20:49

Ooooh, The Hunger Games is the first book that I have put on my Kindle

Boo to the iron syrup Kitty, but hopefully you will notice a difference quite quickly.

I know that I should hate 50 Shades and that it is tripe, but jeez I am addicted.

I bet you don't have trotters Fizz. But I saw a woman on sunday who defo DID have trotters. Her feet were rank (discoloured and thick toenails, a whole thick wedge of dry skin hanging off of her heels) and she was wearing flip flops Confused My nephew had to tell me to stop staring Blush

Glaikit · 10/07/2012 22:16

I hate feet

I had to tell my mum what fifty shades was about as she was going to buy them Blush. My mum is a prude, the prudiest prude you will have ever met. If she had bought them I can't even begin to think what would have happened. Probably something similar to the time she insisted on letting me watch sex and the city when I stayed over because she knew I watched it. It was the one where Samantha got a swing Blush

Kittycatcat · 11/07/2012 10:16

Thank god i only have 7 more working days inc today. S is being a nightmare when we get home. The last two nights and one night last week after work;

He seems to be refusing to have an arvo nap at his grandparents and is taking his morning nap later for various reasons. He may then sleep in the car but that sleep isnt long enough and he is waking up in a vile mood. Nothing helps - this is much like a post i made a few months ago when he was waking from his arvo nap at home like it - DH couldnt believe what he was seeing as it was a firstfor him. Wanted you but didnt. wanted food but didnt. Wanted to sit on his own but didnt. After 40 minutes i gave him his bottle and put him to bed. He talked to himself quite happily for about 45 minutes before falling asleep. (he talks to himself for a while every night) then had us up at 530. I am guessing he might only need one lunch time nap and to go to bed earlier. But that wont work while i still work as we have a 40 minute drive home from his grandparents.......

MrsWajs · 11/07/2012 14:00

Hello!!

I haven't fallen off the face of the planet, just been on hols and busy busy!

R got chicken pox 3 days before we left so it's just as well she wasn't meant to be coming anyway! She's fine now and has had a nice week staying with her 2 grandmas.
How was your holiday ILTMI? I don't think I saw you! Wink

Hope the weather improves a bit for your hols Fizz!! Love your wellies!

Kitty Can't believe you're 30 weeks nearly already! That's really flown past. You have my sympathies on napping, we were going through that a few weeks ago, although in hindside I'm sure brewing the pox and teething had a bit to do with it as well. We're back to 2 naps a day again mostly but sometimes she'll just take one, usually from 1-3pm.

So is everyone else LO walking now? R took her very first wobbly steps on Sunday and has done it a couple of times since but doesn't seem that fussed about it otherwise!! Is this the norm? I am also ridiculously proud ecuse as I seem to be anytime she does anything new!!

As for 50SOG - I have read all 3 and agree that it was pretty repetetive and poorly written but I just couldn't help myself!! :)

Sorry not to namecheck everyone, will try and keep up a bit more but going back to work tomorrow so that seems unlikely!!

Kittycatcat · 11/07/2012 14:39

[waves] at mrsw nice to see ya

Glaikit · 12/07/2012 16:25

Hmm my Wellies might be fat calf ones, but they are. Bit skinny in the ankles!

Kittycatcat · 13/07/2012 08:42

Well on s' last day with his gp his gd took him out in his buggy at 430 to his gm saying I don't want him asleep now. Anyway. He slept for an hour, woke, had his dinner. I picked him up. He stated awake in the car. Was good as gold at home and slept 9-7. Perfect. So basically they need to try harder with the afternoon nap. I said I'd happily wait when I get there if he has dinner late but I don't think gm wants that. She likes the routine but I'm afraid it's changing. Yest s took his pm nap 445-645 then had dinner and he was fine.

Glaikit · 13/07/2012 09:21

B very often has a late nap.makes for a much happier ds at bath and bed time.

ecuse · 14/07/2012 22:31

Urgh. For the first time since she was a tiny baby we've braved taking J out to a restaurant this evening, way past her bedtime. She got completely wound up and over excited , wouldn't stay still for a second, trying to wriggle under the table and grab all the cutlery and generally giddy from all the attention. And it was about 40 degrees in there and she got so overheated. And there were 16 of us so it took 2 hours before the main courses even arrived. Had been hoping she would drink her milk in her pushchair and then conk out but that turned out to be hopelessly naive. It was like trying to keep hold of a bag of ferrets for two hours and she had a meltdown.

We are not taking her out for dinner again until she's 18.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/07/2012 06:58

2 hours to get the main course?! I bet you could have weeped. Times like that can be so stressful.

I think I may actually have seen the sun peep through the cloud. I almost had forgotten what that big yellow ball was in the sky!

Glaikit · 15/07/2012 22:12

B hates the travel cot in our cottage. We had 2 hours sleep last night and he's slept in his buggy today. He is currently sleeping in his buggy again, but can we leave him there all night?? Co sleeping won't work, he thinks it's playtime.
Im so tired I can't decide!

Kittycatcat · 16/07/2012 07:07

Oh no fizz. I reckon if it's getting you sleep do it!!

30 weeks today. 9 to go!!

Glaikit · 16/07/2012 10:00

We had limited success last night. He slept in the buggy until 3ish, then decided he didn't like being strapped in. Camein with us and jumped around for a while. Then in a fit of desperation we moved the cot out of the bedroom and he slept! Until 9!!!

Guess what we'll be doing tonight!

Kittycatcat · 16/07/2012 11:25

ooooo did he want his own space?

MrsWajs · 16/07/2012 23:39

Aww wee B just wanted his own room!

Restaurant outing sounds like it was stressful ecuse I don't take R out for meals at all now unless it's going to at 5pm sharp!! She just won't wait for food and the diva strops are become pretty legendary!!

We are in the midst of bug hell just now. R started vomitting on Saturday night, literally 5 minutes before I was about to leave the house to meet some work friends for dinner! I went late after rinsing the sheets/sleeping bag/pyjamas etc and putting them all in the wash. DP was going out at 8.30pm to watch the boxing so my brother was coming to babysit until I got home at 10pm. We were naively hoping it was just a one off - cue R vomitting again 10 minutes after DP left the house which meant my brother phoning me to go home and see to her! Anyway she vommed a few more times before she settled and then on Sunday I woke up with it too. R seemed better but then DP started being sick at 3 this morning!! So now DP is still feeling terrible I feel ok and then bloody R started throwing up again tonight after being fine all day today and yesterday!!!!!! Gaaaaah.

Of course DP feels much worse than I did when I was ill and is being pathetic!
