I am gutted :( my childminder is giving up :( she's just come round to tell me in person along with the bill for may she is going to work with children with disabilities after the summer holidays.

She came with an alternative though. Her sister, who B sees at least once a weeks also a childminder and can accommodate us which I am fine with because I have met her. But I'm really really sad. She is so lovely, I don't think anyone else will be the same :(. Am I being ridiculous? I feel like a teenager who has just been dumped.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 04/06/2012 18:06

Not ridiculous, Fizz.

I.live in fear that my wonderful cm will give up. I've already provisionally booked F in with her till Sept 2013 as a minimum.

MrsWajs · 04/06/2012 20:08

Sounds like you could have labrynthitis UBW??

Sad news about your CM Fizz :( I'm sure her sister will be just as good though and at least B knows her a little bit.
I'm having a mare with babysitting just now as my dad is back to work so is no longer my fall back option. Poor R is being passed from pillar to post so I can work - ggrrrr!! :(

JKSLtd · 04/06/2012 20:43

I had labryrinthitis once, not fun. Felt like when I turned my head, my brian took a few seconds to follow, weird.

Fizz - not weird at all, just when you get comfortable with something/someone re your DC it changes, it's very disconcerting.

ecuse · 04/06/2012 20:57

ubw I was just about to say labyrinthitis too. It's horrible, isn't it? If you can get to the doctor they should be able to give you something to help with the spinning also anti-nausea tablets which helped me a lot.

Fizz I absolutely dread our childminder "dumping" us, you have my sympathies! Thank Christ she gave you a good plan b, though, so you don't have to start from scratch ringing round everyone on the council list !

Must get off my fat arse to make cheesecake for our street party tomorrow.

JKSLtd · 04/06/2012 21:08

Oh and I meant to say:

DD didn't BF at bedtime. So no BF at all today. Not sure how I feel about that.

She didn't exactly refuse, but wasn't interested when I signed & said milk, didn't take her dummy out (she sleeps with one & had it already, but often does at the point DH gives her to me), just looked at the cat and snuggled in to me. So i gave her a kiss, put her in her cot and left.
Hmm.
After all my agonising over how to stop BF the boys, then DD just stops of her own accord, weird.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 04/06/2012 22:16

jks that's exactly what it felt like this morning. I've had the feeling before with a cold.

It was ok after dosing up in paracetamol & ibuprofen (although I can't see how either would do anything helpful). Headache is just starting to creep back now.

I'll see the doc weds if it's not resolved.itself tomorrow.

Re BF - F will happily go to bed without if I'm not there, but always signs grabs my top if I am. He's been asking in the afternoons the last few days too. Looks like we're keeping going for now!

I think I'd really miss it if he stopped now. Maybe I'm one of those mad 'selfish' extended BF women!

chillikat · 05/06/2012 20:04

Hope you're feeling better UBW, my dad has bouts of labyrinthitis - he says it's like a really bad hangover but without the fun bit of getting drunk first.

I've been BF plenty over the last few days - M seems to have a nasty cough and I think it soothes it a little. We're off to the docs tomorrow afternoon to get it checked out She's also got a couple more teeth coming on the left which seems to make her latch bad on my right - I'm getting teeth marks each feed :( That said, I'd miss feeding too if we stopped now, though I'm glad we've generally cut down to 2 or 3 feeds a day. I'm not quite sure when we might stop - I keep thinking in 6 month blocks.

We've had a nice extended weekend at my parents for the weekend proper then back home for a couple of days. We went to the park this morning taking the ball but all M wanted to do was push her pram around Confused.
I've also sold a few things on ebay and had my first sale on Folksy - I'm posting to Guernsey tomorrow - maybe one of Gys DD's friends will be wearing it soon :) Gys, if you're lurking my parents are also visiting the island in a couple of weeks, they had their honeymoon there and are really looking forward to going back.

JKSLtd · 05/06/2012 20:38

How are you feeling UBW?

Well DD had no BF today either, that's 48hrs since her last feed. DH got her ready for bed and put her to bed, he said she looked a tad confused but went down absolutely fine. Kind of wanted her to kick up a stink and demand me Grin
Hey ho, hopefully a few months of baby-freedom & booze! then we can start thinking about number 4 Grin

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 05/06/2012 23:53

4?! Shock Grin

I've been fine today thanks, which is lucky. I read that proper labyrinthitis can last weeks.

I think its deffo a cold variant. I've been a bit throaty this arvo. F's rubbed his ear occasionally too, but his lower pre-molars are bothering him more at the moment (and that's not much), so I'm not sure if I'm just putting 2 & 2 together and getting 5 again.

(chilli it was the hangover feeling that made me want to poas yesterday, that's exactly how I felt constantly when pregnant!)

GsyPotatoPieEyed · 07/06/2012 00:14

Yes, I,m here Chilli, have been lurking. Are your parents celebrating a special anniversary? If so you should contact our local paper as they are always running stories on returning honeymooners to fill space Smile
And if they happen to visit the library in the market square, do tell them to say hello (and to fill a comments form in about how helpful Olivia was) Grin.

Hope everyone had a good jubilee. I purchased the first part of DS school uniform Shock today and have the new parents evening next Tuesday.
Little P has got her jabs tomorrow, a month late Blush. Where does the time go?

JKSLtd · 07/06/2012 11:26

DD still hasn't had a letter about her jabs, I must try and get into the GPs once the boys are back at school next week and chase them up - not that I really want her to have them but I know she must.

Still no BF or inclination to from her.
Very interestingly (for me anyway!) I am not engorged at all. When I stopped with the boys, even though I had cut down to 1 feed a day I still got massively & sorely engorged for about a week.
Just shows that she has been nicely reducing my supply for me the last few weeks & that maybe Mother Nature can sort these things out on her own Grin still a bit sad though.
If she was my last I'd be having a not very surreptitious sniffle every evening.

chillikat · 07/06/2012 21:52

No, not a special anniversary Gys, that was last year. It wouldn't be unknown for my dad to visit the library on holiday. My brother certainly visits the library where ever he goes. I might suggest they pop in and say hello.

M went without a nap today. She spent 13 hours awake, though she was close to dropping when I picked her up from nursery but even walking the long route home didn't make her go. Feeding her didn't work and nor did the walk to visit my friend. She then spent the remainder of the afternoon playing with my friends DD and chasing the cats. I can't believe she didn't fall asleep in her tea. Anyway is in bed now. I hope this doesn't become a habit. I need her to nap so I can recharge my batteries (and spend some time on MN).

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 08/06/2012 09:00

Blimey, 13 hours non stop is rather hardcore!

Sounds like you both feel ok about the lack of bf'ing JKS. I have noticed that you have mentioned the possibility of number 4 more frequently. Respect!

I went to the theatre with my dsis on Tuesday evening, so dh put baby I to bed. His first ever bedtime without me or milk . He was fine and didn't seem bothered

We have spent most of half term at home. M has hurt his wrist so has been a bit subdued, then baby I came out with conjunctivitis. So no socialising for us. Also the weather has been shocking.

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 08/06/2012 09:43

I had a dream about all you guys last night Confused we were all meeting for the first time in a big log cabin type thing, where we all had to sleep in bunk beds and the babies were put in one house cot in the middle of the room in sleeping bags. We the did a sort of treetop assault course with the babies strapped to our backs.

Kittycatcat · 08/06/2012 11:03

Hi all, been lurking but having a busy week off. Took s to see in the night garden yest. He sat still on my knee the entire time. I'm stunned and proud. We don't watch it all the time do I wasn't sure how he would be. Dh is decorating our bedroom so I've spent two nights on the sofa. Think s has cut two teeth. We are off to my nieces 3rd birthday party tomorrow. It's pirate themed. Ive got a a skull and cross bones t shirt. Frayed jeans and a waistcoat. Any tips? Eyeliner moustache? Tuesday was our 2nd wedding anniversary so we left s with the inlaws and sent to china town for dinner then to see Matilda. It's a wonderful show.

fizz that's sad re ur cm. I can understand your feeling. Lucky shes lined up her sis for you. Glad your dream was just that fizzConfused

jks number four???

Crumbs. 13 hours chilli

Your poor iccles ilike

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 08/06/2012 12:19

Kittycatcat · 08/06/2012 13:01

Ooooo thanks Smile

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 08/06/2012 13:36

Little plaits in you hair at the front if it's long enough.

chillikat · 08/06/2012 14:44

Yes, 13 hours and sleep was the worst for a while last night - I don't think she made 2 hours in a row before midnight, then a 4am wake up too. Annoyingly nursery then let her nap for half an hour this morning at 10. I nearly cried when they told me but somehow I've managed to get her to sleep now, hopefully for not much more than an hour.

Fizz when's this adventure planned for :o

Kittycatcat · 08/06/2012 15:08

Oh and he has a small parrot Grin

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 08/06/2012 16:50

As soon as I find a log cabin in the woods big enough for us all chilli! We might have to wait until kitty isn't upduffed anymore for h&s of course......

Kittycatcat · 08/06/2012 16:59

Snort

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 08/06/2012 17:25

But by that time I reckon JKS will have number 4 on the way!

I've just posted on a poas thread and it's really got me thinking. Dh and I had an "incident" 2 weeks ago. Af is due at the weekend I think, but my cycles are still messed up. My boobs are aching today, and I just fell asleep in the sofa when b had his nap even though I had an early ish night last night and slept well. I've had funny pulling type pains on my left side too, which I had in early days with b. it took us 3 years to have b so I was ok ish to not do anything about the incident as I thought we would probably have the same issues. Oh and I cried at work onwednesday.

I'm going to have to poas aren't I?

Kittycatcat · 08/06/2012 19:06

O M G yes I think you are. NOW please Smile
