ILike - nightmare!

UBW- I agree with ILike about how to manage the biting.
And we are all definitely approaching the point where it is time for some boundaries! Smile

We are off on holiday on Saturday and I am sooo disorganised.

Starshaped · 30/05/2012 09:56

Owh UBW. P has only ever nipped me a couple of times but it bloody killed so you have my sympathy. I screamed the first time she did it, which made her cry her eyes out and which in turn made me feel like a right meanie. Not sure I handled it very well to be honest!

Oooh holidays Ali. I'm jealous. Going anywhere nice?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 30/05/2012 13:44

My mum and dad have a holiday home in France so we are going there for a week. They are going to be there too, which will be fab because they are such a help with the boys! I think DH and I might even manage a meal out on our own!! :)

Star - it is really hard not to scream when your nipple gets bitten!! Especially if you are feeding lying down and have dozed off which is generally what I do.
I am lucky this time so far, T isn't a biter. DS1 was terrible, and I had a horrid cut on one side of my nipple that started oozing green stuff once. That was pleasant, not.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 30/05/2012 15:04

Oooooh, green pus. Sound the klaxon Grin Wink

A week in France sounds divine Ali, it's 2 weeks until we leave for Cyprus and I can't wait. I am shitting it wrt having two lo's on the plane, I think gin will be the way forward Grin

Kittycatcat · 30/05/2012 15:39

Ouch ubw

Eek ilike hope you are all ok. Well jeal of cyprus.

Had our scan today. All is well and it's definately a boy Grin

MrsWajs · 30/05/2012 19:45

4 weeks til our Cyprus jolly too ILTMI :) have been preparing my "pre-tan" with the lovely weather!!
That's actually a blatant lie because like Fizz I am also very pale and scottish and sun does not agree with me one bit so I am now freaking out at the prospect of sitting in 40 degree heat!! I also have really bad prickly heat so apart from not being able to get even a teeny bit tanned I will also have to walk about with whopping great hives all over my chest and arms - NICE!!!! Why would someone choose to get married there at that time of year!

The last week have also made me realise I am quite glad that R isn't coming with us she doesn't like wearing sun cream or hats and I suspect we would have spent the entire week fishing her out of the pool/sea and anywhere else she shouldn't be!

We have also arrived at tantrum central in our house and it is not pretty! R insists on throwing herself around or headbutting/kicking/slapping if she doesn't get her own way. I've got no idea where she has learned all this from but it certainly wasn't me! Trying to persevere with sharp "no's" and ignoring but it seems a bit fruitless at the moment. Today she headbutted the trolley in tesco because she couldn't reach something in it and has given herself a whopping purple bruise in the middle of her forehead!!

JKSLtd · 30/05/2012 20:40

Kitty - yey for good scan (and still being a boy lol!) :)

We aren't going away until the end of August, I am looking forward to it, sort of, but also kind of crapping myself about travelling with all 3 DC.
We are going to Jersey (will wave across the water GsyGF!) with my brother, his wife & their LO who is the same age as DD.
Hopefully it will work out ok, we have a very short flight from here to there which DS1 will love, DS2 may freak or love & DD will prob hate. Fun fun fun.

I think DD is self-weaning BF :( In a way it's good but I'm still sad.
She had dropped to just 2 feeds a day, roughly one a morning & then bedtime.
Yesterday & today she hasn't had the morning one, hasn't asked for it (she knows the milk sign). And at bedtime tonight she wasn't bothered, i kind of pushed it and she hardly fed.

I think I have to have number 4 cos I'm not ready to be all done just yet Grin

GlaikitFizzog · 01/06/2012 09:40

Morning ladies! It's June! Has anyone else noticed the more mobile our babies get the less we chat!

I think we have more teeth coming. B refuses to let us feel though. And if he does we run the risk of losing a finger!

Kittycatcat · 01/06/2012 10:38

Morning
S has had a meltdown. Wouldn't sleep in his cot for the first time in aaaaages so is now sleeping on me. Got himself into a right state.
Another baby arrived yesterday. Harrison, 7.2, emergency c sec but mummy and baby are fine. I visited 5 day old Olivia yesterday.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/06/2012 13:57

Did you get all broody seeing and hearing about the new babies Kitty? I always do .................... judt not enough to have another one! Grin

{{JKS}} Sounds like you need a hug with the whole self weaning going on, although knowing these fickle babies that may have changed already.

My flipppin supply is out of control. Some days I forget to feed Baby I in the day and blimey my boobs don't like it, they get really sore. So I try Baby I on the breast and he has about one suck then bobs off because he isn't interested Hmm

June already That's half way through the bloody year already. I did giggle when I saw a Homemade Christmas 2012 thread the other day.

GlaikitFizzog · 01/06/2012 14:09

Christmas!!! I have a rule in my house no Christmas talk til after my birthday in August!

Remember I said about. Y friends dc with the suspected measles? Well they were told it wasn't measles just a post viral rash. Then 2 days later, the Hv visited them and he was whisked back to hospital for more tests as she was sure it was measles. Tests done he was discharged for the gp to visit every 2 days. First GP visit he say it's not measles definitely and as he had perked up it was ok to take him out and about. Now the tests have come back saying it was measles and they have been happily wafting him all around town. AIBU to be a bit pissed off on my fiends behalf? I'm also worried for B because we were at their house just before the rash came out. I thought even if measles were only just suspected to treat it like it was until confirmed one way or the other? And when I called the surgery to ask advice i was basically fobbed off as a hysterical mother to a pfb.

Anyway b is due his mmr in a few weeks. He will be getting it because I'm not ggnthrough this again.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/06/2012 14:30

Try not to worry about it Fizz, if B has got it it's too late to really do anything and you can't live you life not doing things just in case B may be incubating something. Unfortunately situations arise like this all of the time, you sort of get used to it really.

I don't mean to sound blase about it, but I think after you have been in that situation a few times, you realise that shit happens and that you can only do so much to prevent illnesses spreading. Of course it is different if you are aware your child is contagious and then you still decide to go out and about with them.

I think measles isn't seen very much anymore, so people (HCP's) don't really know how to deal with it and what it looks like.

Got to go, baby I is awake ...............

Kittycatcat · 01/06/2012 18:11

ilike broody and scared stiff. How am I going to look after two?!

fizz Grrr on urs and ur friends behalf. Hope I is ok.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/06/2012 19:42

You just do Kitty. I found the first few months a lot easier than I thought I was going to. I think it was just nice not to be pregnant anymore Grin

It was only when the sleep deprivation really kicked in when Baby I was about 7mo and still pissing around in the night that I found it tough. I always used to think 'millions of people have done it and survived, so I can get through it'.

You'll be fine, honest. Then when the first year has passed, things will be so much easier and your boys will be amusing each other and laughing together at bodily functions(yes, it really starts that early when they have an older sibling!)

A sling will be your best friend ever. The baby can spend most of the day there while you deal with S.

Oh, look at this Crown

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 01/06/2012 19:52

Hey all!

Kitty glad the scan was all good!

Fizz I'd be panicking too, but ILike is right. I'd be just as upset with the HOPs though.

Well, DH has been home all week looking after F (cm on holiday). So with dodgy knee, I predicted F would choose this time to start walking!

Fortunately, the knee is apparently fine, but this morning while I was at work, F started doing laps of the lounge!

We have a walker!

Kittycatcat · 01/06/2012 20:03

Thanks ilike Smile

Yay ubwGrin

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 01/06/2012 20:12

ILike - do your two sit and fart and have hysterics about it at the dinner table too? Grin

Kitty you will be fine. It is bloody hard work at times, I shan't lie to you. But it is great to see the bond developing, and there is nothing nicer than a huge armful of snuggly children Smile

Off on hols tomorrow. Haven't quite finished the packing although I'm nearly there. We officially have too much stuff.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 02/06/2012 08:05

How did you guess Ali? Grin belching and farting will always raise a laugh with the males in this house, whilst I sit there with a cats bum face - but trying not to laugh too!

Hurrah for walking F! He sounds like how ds2 started to walk. He just done it one day and went straight to running everywhere. Baby I on the other hand can walk, but mostly still chooses to crawl Hmm

His new trick is standing up on the seat of his highchair and climbing onto the tray - it nearly gave me heart failure the first time he done it as I had been out of the room.

Have a fab holiday Ali, I am already worrying about keeping to the luggage weight limit Grin

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 02/06/2012 11:35

happy (half term) saturday!

Just noticed it's "ma'amsnet" today! Grin

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 02/06/2012 11:38

Have you also seen the Crown

Crown :)
JKSLtd · 02/06/2012 14:58

Ooh I likey the Crown & the ma'amsnet, very good.

ILike - so far DD has stuck with 1 feed a day, just at bedtime. Then this morning she signed for milk so i fed her. Think I forgot to give her any snack though, oops! Blush
I'm kind of ok with her stopping now, and now she probably won't for months, hey ho.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 04/06/2012 11:53

Aargh, I feel like I'm on a boat!

I think I've got an ear infection, but it doesn't hurt (ear thermometer says left ear temp is higher than right, which is normal). I'm all spinny. DH is at work, and I think F is just waking up from his nap.

If I sit really still, I feel fine. But I walk like a drunkard!

Not sure I should stagger to the big jubilee picnic.

Any suggestions?

GlaikitFizzogKnitterOfTheRealm · 04/06/2012 12:08

I would give out of hours a ring, but I've always had problems with my ears and an untreated infection left for any length of time was a nightmare for me. Also it's scary being dizzy when you have sole care of a baby.

UnderwaterBasketWeaving · 04/06/2012 12:42

Thanks Fizz,

Since hoofing myself off the sofa, I'm not feeling too bad. Although my head is starting hurt a bit.

That makes it sound.like a hangover. It isn't, honestly!

I'll keep an ear eye on things and call ooh if need be. I think it's just standard half term cold variant.

I am so prone to panic at the moment. I was reading the 'how did you tell dh you were pg' thread remembering the last time I felt so hungover/odd. I almost poas'd! I've got a coil AND period just finished the other day, fgs!

Kittycatcat · 04/06/2012 13:12

Oh no ubw. Hope you feel better very soon.
