The blinds are being fitted tomorrow! And my Sis says you can get tiny little fridges from Argos for about £20. I shall have a wee looky now.
bee Lordy, a breastfeeding apron! There but for the grace of bob... Oh yes, that's exactly what it's because of! :) Good luck!
BOi had a lovely day with SIL and the cousins today, and they gave him a bath which saves me a job. :) And he took approx 12oz of formula (because DH forgot to take my expressed milk!) from a bottle. Hurrah!
Nursery tomorrow, let's hope he's built up enough trust to take the bottle there. Have a lovely night everyone.
Citeh or United? Wink

I really don't know what's wrong with me. Feeling nauseas at the thought of food but not being sick and no 'tummy upset' (iykwim) but have only managed to eat a few crackers today. I'm fluctuating between hot flashes and freezing cold, have the headache from hell and ache from head to toe. I've got that prickly skin feeling where anything touching my skin feels irritating/sore. Bleh.

Figgygal · 30/04/2012 20:25

We have friends round tonight for footie (no preference on who wins dh is a spurs and fan I don't care) so just had some pizzas and wedges lo was practically leaping off my knee at the wedges, he almost got 1 too. He never has shown an interest in what we are eating until today but he grabbed hold of my hand and was trying to force my hand/wedges into his mouth and boy is he strong. I've been putting off the pureeing but I think the time has come

LittleMissFlustered · 30/04/2012 20:35

Sound like you've got 'the bug' MissRee. I'd down a couple of paracetamol and take it easy if you can:(

NOBODY TELL ME THE SCORE! We've got it recorded and am about to start watching.

Yesh, what a day. Crap evening meeting, didn't even get to do my bit, as I was leaving at 7.45 come hell or highwater as I needed to catch my train. Was lovely taking DS into the office though, and getting lunch with both my boys. Unfortunately, DS's naps went out the window, and so he was seriously grumpy and screamy- DP is rather frazzled and now actually understands, as I said he would, why I insist on the child getting his sleeps in!

Oi- I was going to say about the fridges, certainly worth getting one. Another vote for the Avent cups- we use them too, brilliant. It was chance, as the Avent hand pump was on offer, so I got one, but you can attach it to the bottle direct, or to the little tubs. They freeze really well, and I'll be using them for all sorts! I've managed fine going to four feeds- 7am, one express, 7pm and half 10, and that works for us.

That sounds hardcore Bee, blimey. Really hope the trip's not too bad- do the kids enjoy seeing their GPs?

Hope you get better soon MissRee, that sounds crap. Take care of yourself.

BeeMyBaby · 30/04/2012 21:21

Northern - Yes DD1 loves seeing MIL, BILS and SILS but really hoping FIL doesn't come (he lives in France) as he is smoky/alcoholicy/shouty/slave driver to MIL and he was there last time I went (in 2010) and ruined it, although I feel bad that he doesn't get to see his grandchildren.

BeeMyBaby · 30/04/2012 21:32

that was very a bit ranty of me - apologies.

NorthernChinchilla · 30/04/2012 21:52

Ooooh, he sounds like the perfect GP Confused! Don't apologise, sounds like he ruined what should've been a lovely family trip, albeit a very wrapped up one for you!
Great to get time in another culture too, although I'm sure there are various bits that won't sit perfectly with you. My step-mum is German, and so half siblings half German, and we used to go over loads. Not as big a difference, ifswim, but still fascinating to live, albeit for a short time, in a different place.

Nearing half time, still nil-nil, the tension is appalling.

aethelfleda · 30/04/2012 22:57

I'm not up too late. No Siree, I'm in bed. Honest.

LittleMissFlustered · 01/05/2012 01:57

8-1 again!

  1. Solid. Hours?!

Someone has replaced my child with a alien. Only explanation.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 01/05/2012 06:10

Morning Ladies.

hawthers · 01/05/2012 06:35

F all over the shop last night. Up but not hungry. Fell asleep on me loads but then wouldn't be put back in his cot. His yowling and writhing stopped as soon as he was picked up so.I think it is some sort of tummy issue.
M exhausted.
Not sure what I can do really.

aethelfleda · 01/05/2012 06:50

Here is the news. Northern France has been placed on flood alert adfter an unexpected rain of haddock. A spokesman said "Yum."

aethelfleda · 01/05/2012 06:53

*hawthers, it may just be this four month thing or it may be he dislikes being flat : loads of us have had unsettled babes who sleep on a oerson bur won't lie flat by themselves ( DS does this for daytime naps). Have you propped the head end of the cor (just 1-2 inches)?

GeeandTee · 01/05/2012 07:22

Stop the press. DD slept through!!! I am totally amazed. 7.30 to 7.15am. Not even one wake up. I can't believe it. That is the first proper night's sleep I've had in 5 months. There is hope for us all!

So in the last 2/3 weeks she's gone from waking/feeding every 1/2/3 hours to sleeping through. I've done absolutely nothing different, bf on demand, no weaning. DD will be 5 months next week. Hope this gives some of you hope!!!

Boobs bloomin feel like Mt Vesuvias though but am not complaining!

BeeMyBaby · 01/05/2012 07:41

Gee I have no hope, DD2 is 5 months today (and still not sitting :( ) so I think we've missed the boat and she will never sleep through. Every 2 hour feedings as usual last night.

Northern Sounds like a lovely childhood getting to know another culture, and Germany would have been good (different, but not different in a bad way and with all the modcons you'd be use to).

Rashkakeller · 01/05/2012 08:28

Here's another one who got a full nights sleep, thank Bob!

Ds slept through for the 2nd night running - 7.15pm until 7am - which was great but he's woken up snotty so don't expect it to last.

Dd is over the worse of her cough so slept through too, in her own bed! Feel almost human today!

Have tots splashtime today but have to pop to Asda first to pick up an order of swim nappies. Then big shop at Morrisons after so expect to get very wet today (in and out the pool) as the weather is atrocious again! When's summer again?

Question please: how many weeks is 6 months?

OiMissus · 01/05/2012 08:30

I stayed up too late last night, so it was 11:30 when we all went up and BOi was disturbed for a feed. (he sleeps in the evening fine, but when we take him upstairs he always wakes - I don't mind, it's my opportunity to deflate the boobs and fill him up.) But then he woke at 12.30 and kicked off because he was in the crib, but then slept til 4.40 (I brought him into bed and fed him - I tried putting him back in the crib but he kicked off again and I was too tired, so he slept with us again Hmm)!
I got up at 6 and felt like death. But got to the nursery for 7:15, so I went in the parents room and fed him before leaving him.
BOi will be 5 months old on the 10th, does this mean he's going to sleep through? pleaaase!I'm bf on demand, and have not weaned him, only tried baby rice - which is just thick milk, right? Please! babyGee you are our inspiration.
The difference between my family and DH's family is almost like two different cultures. ()

Rashkakeller · 01/05/2012 08:34

Bee, my little guy is 20 wks on Friday and doesn't sit yet. He supports himself well, only needing minimal propping but if you let go, he free dives!

As for rolling? Nada! Doesn't seem interested. Only wants to be propped up to standing position which is his favourite.

Dd gone to nursery, ds just started his morning nap so best get breakfast...

HoneyLovesCake · 01/05/2012 08:38

Bloody hell Gee. Amazing! You must feel great.

I'm shattered, woke at 3:30 when DS snuffled up against me for a dream feed & couldn't get back to sleep again. Tried to sneak out of bed at 6 & woke DS who is now very grumpy :(

Brew & Biscuit keeping me going today!

Bee Rocco is 21wks today (5 months on Sunday) & is showing no signs of becoming mobile; not sitting or rolling. He used to sleep through with many many dream feeds (we're cosleeping) but I don't think that counts Hmm

mopsytop · 01/05/2012 08:42

Hi all! Back at last! Boat was cancelled due to gales so got back a day later. Minimopsy slept waaaay better in her own cot last night-21:30-04:30 without a peep then just needed settling a few times between 04:30-07:00. Yay!

Urrrgh have all the unpacking to do now. Will catch up later on the thread.

OiMissus · 01/05/2012 08:54

rashka I asked myself the same question the other day, and laughed at myself for not working it out - 6months is 26 weeks (half of 52). Like you, I guess, I look to the Red Book and HVs to tell me what age my baby is. :)
BOi doesn't sit, he just nose dives. He half rolls from front to back. he did roll once from back to front (on 22.03.12), but now once on his tummy he just wants to go forward. He is incredibly strong, but doesn';t get anywhere yet. He's beginning to realise that he has to use his arms to help him, and so pushes his shoulders off the floor as he kicks his legs. He LOVES to be standing up, and will walk if I support his weight. Mainly on his tip toes.
And he still doesn't like his Snug/Bumbo very much.

OiMissus · 01/05/2012 08:55

T'other way round, - he rolled once from front to back, has never rolled from back to front, but gets halfway.
Welcome back mopsy.
