DeterminedandSpecialMum · 29/04/2012 07:17

Hawthers Hope you enjoy your extra 90mins this morning and you feel better for it.

Air Not sure what my gift is, that's unto DP! I've already got my eternity ring - I got that first, my engagement ring came 2nd my wedding ring will soon be 3rd Grin

Aethel First time I've been retail therapy clothes shopping in a while. I have a good excuse at the moment tho - before I had Sky I was an unhealthy size 6, now I'm a happy, healthy and comfortable size 10 so have a good excuse to buy some new and trendy clothes Grin

hawthers · 29/04/2012 07:35

Zero to hero for Mr h

He actually did the whole night shift last night. I slept in the spare room after doing a dream feed at 11.30 and got 7 hours sleep and he got up with f at 4 and resettled him on his own and then got me up at 7. Legend

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 29/04/2012 07:52

Big Well Done to MrHawthers Grin

BJR · 29/04/2012 08:26

Good going MrHawthers :)

Everything going well thanks Northern i've had a nice break and DP has got a bit of time to himself and can't wait for us to get back.

Heading back this afternoon. Could be an interesting journey, LO has Chicken Pox. My mum noticed a couple of spots two days ago and then they suddenly errupted, poor boy is covered. He seems cheerful but itchy!

NorthernChinchilla · 29/04/2012 08:42

Got DS up at 7.15 (I'd been awake for the previous hour owing to the damn rain on the velux windows) but letting DP have a lie in, as he muttered something about '4 o'clock' when I went in.

So watching MOTD and acting as DS's personal bumbo...

OiMissus · 29/04/2012 09:26

Mornink, we're still poorly here. I woke up mumbling something about if it was a nice day, we should try and get out for a walk in the fresh air. DH thought this rather funny. Apparently I had failed to notice the gale force winds and rain removing our roof during the night.
Was feeling rough at 11ish so asked DH to cover the next feed with a bottle and formula, he got it all ready - but when it came to it my boobs were aching so I bf anyway.
Well done to MrHawthers. I hope MrJigglebum makes the turnaround too, and MrHoney. let's hope for a minimal haddock week, otherwise our stocks will be diminished. ( I too have fish fingers in the freezer for use in emergencies, but they just don't give the same satisfying slapping sound.)
Good luck all!

AnAirOfHope · 29/04/2012 09:32

i give air a biscuet and i carried on making breakfast and i went into living room to find he had given it to Hope who was happly mouthing it Shock cue a little word with air about how only mum and dad are allowed to give Hope food. He told me that she wanted to be big like him too so she could play football with him Confused GP tell Air to eat up to grow big like grandad!

Hope teething and is grumpy, air watching happy feet and H in bed.

im in a mood due to h behaviour, he did something that i really dont like and now im unhappy with him big time.

Figgygal · 29/04/2012 09:40

Morning all

Dh is ill, weather is horrific and lo is currently producing his first poo since thursday crappy day all round!!

MissRee · 29/04/2012 13:41

Hope everyone is having a nice relaxing and lazy Sunday Grin we're snuggled up indoors watching the MotoGP.

Freya has been a right grump the last couple of days. Crying all the time, being sick loads (snotty milky yukkiness) and has done some disgustingly gross nappies. I'm beginning to wonder if it's not just teething but she doesn't have a temp, is not off her milk at all and calpol doesn't seem to help. Will be visiting the clinic on Tuesday so will see what HV says then. She was also up in the night loads which is most unlike her.

I feel like death Grin

BeeMyBaby · 29/04/2012 16:02

I would say baby rice is very good for thickening things up quickly, I found a lot of fruit purees ended up a bit too runny to get from tiny spoon to mouth. I'm definitely finding it hard waiting to 6 months to wean as DD2 seems desperate for food when she sees it (although not bothered otherwise) but want to do BLW so DH doesn't try force feed her/ to avoid the multitude of weaning mistakes I made with DD1.

So have any teeth erupted yet on LOs or are all babies just teething with the little spikes laying await under the gums still?

OiMissus · 29/04/2012 17:50

No teeth here, just buckets of dribble.
Please share your weaning mistakes so that the first-timers here can learn from them.
I tried BOi with carrot today. I didn't mix with breastmilk, I just thought we'd go straight in. He wasn't too keen. He pulled his face, then grabbed the spoon and rammed it into his mouth to chew on, and ejected any carrot. Repeat as necessary.

aethelfleda · 29/04/2012 17:55

DS is toothless but dribbly, chewing everything in sight, had a bit of nappy rash last week (OK now). Could be months, could be next week...

Lazy Sunday with the cousins. Noisy but fun.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 29/04/2012 17:57

I mixed with spoon feeding at first then soon as Darcie could comfortably hold stuff she would have finger foods - worked well.

Just about to give Sky some fruity porridge then her bottle before she settles for the night - tonight will be the first night in her cot in her own room Sad hoping I don't have to get up to many times!

NorthernChinchilla · 29/04/2012 19:37

Bah, MN ate my post!

DS and I surpassed ourselves today. He had a nap this afternoon, and I took the opportunity to snaffle him into bed so we could have the nap together. When he woke, I passed him over to DP...and then I passed out again.

When I woke, it had been an hour, and came rushing downstairs to find DP looking a bit miffed.

Apparently DS had done the poo-wait-poo thing, but DP is now wise to that, so it was all in the nappy. He was changing him, and DS surprised him with a wait- poooooo. Apparently DP was yelling for me to come and help, and despite him being in the room directly below, I didn't hear a thing Blush

I made it up to him by way of cookie!

Must check DS's mouth to see where we are on the teething front- sure I would have felt something, but will look anyway. Bright pink cheeks and ectoplasm are still the order of the day. Today's random teether of choice was my cheek- he pitched forward and started sucking and nomming at it Confused...

Thank the Lord Bob, it has finally stopped raining here. Better get prepped for work tomorrow, bleugh.

LittleMissFlustered · 29/04/2012 19:54

No teeth, no food and no sleep >_<

Eldest went bowling today, middle one shouted at her DS games while he had the chance:o I finally got the replacement telly up and running, it's plugged into everything and functioning:o

Right, off to bed now as I'm brewing a headache still:s

Crappest weekend ever!! Dh is full of a cold and while usually he is hit with man flu this time he actually does look like death warmed up. It has meant hes not touched lo since friday so every thing has been down to me all weekend. The weather has been so extreme ive genuinely been worried about our conservatory roof coming in/off and ive been as far as the local shop for a cold and flu tablet run. Ds is teething and grumpy/whiney bless him.

Only the ben and jerrys core sundae in the freezer and man vs food have cheered me up. Roll on next week!!

Figgygal · 29/04/2012 21:42

Actually strike the sympathy for dh he just called me an insensitive fucking bitch for putting a light on so he could see in the kitchen and suggesting he should go to bed. Took all my resolve (which i have only acquired since becoming a mummy i have a fiery scottish temperament normally) not to knock him out which would have been easy in his current state. Hes also refusing to sleep in our room so i can sleep in our spare room as its next to DS room and when he was in there last night he woke him up coughing at 3am this morning and i want to avoid it happening again as i was the one who had to get him back to sleep. Apparently its closer to the bathroom, which it isnt, and his cold has seemingly meant he has no volume control so hes arguing with me very loudly and im sure he will wake lo up. Have taken the moral high ground and headed to bed with the ipad which will piss him off as its attached to him 99% of the time........haddocks attack!!

LittleMissFlustered · 30/04/2012 01:46

Five hours!

OP posts:
Figgygal · 30/04/2012 06:29

A 1am and 5am food stop last night i think i need to increase the weaning efforts!!

aethelfleda · 30/04/2012 07:03

for Octoboy!!!

from this end purely because I'm feeling frazzled. Even tho DS slept for 5 hours, he then woke at 3, frd and then totally woke up, burbled happily and noisily, woke DH, then grumped and kept us both awake. Took til 4.45 to get him settled again, and felt rubbish. Need coffee.

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 30/04/2012 07:13

Sky was asleep at 7:15 last night woke at 12:30 then again at 3:30 and woken up just now.

Think if I get a 7oz bottle into her at 11pm she should in effect sleep thru as the 3:30 wake was purely to suck on the bottle teat or dummy. And had minor argument with DP at the 3:30am wake up Sad

Rashkakeller · 30/04/2012 07:58

Ds slept from 7.20pm until 6am - good times.
Dd has a bad cough, 'slept' in our bed and kept us awake most of the night - bad times.

aethelfleda · 30/04/2012 08:10

at least the sun's out....
