LO survived his jabs with only a little cry, no temp yet but he's been asleep for last couple hours going to get him up in a minute check he's ok. Infant calpol at the ready!!

Another one for the fb group easily I've pmd you.

Darcies sorry to hear your woes you are doing a great job really you are!!

aethelfleda · 23/02/2012 20:10

oi, I feel your pain. We have a single loo and a few weks ago one of DD2s friends was around for tea. She was convinced we had a second loo and kept repeatedly asking me where the downstairs one was as nobody surely had just the one loo in their house??!

EasilyBored · 23/02/2012 20:22

darcie - pop me a PM and Ill friend you and invite you, then probably annoy everyone to death spamming you all with pics of my fat little monkey.

Husband is currently upstairs feeding squeaker and trying to put him down for the night. I'm supposed to be cleaning the kitchen.

DarcieandSkysmum · 23/02/2012 20:43

Thanks easily I will pm you tomorrow.

I'll name change tomorrow - I can't from my iPhone.

Sky is fast asleep after drinking a 5oz bottle - so one last bottle possibly about 10 and that will be it for the night.

My parents offered to have Darcie over night on sat so DP & I can have a break this weekend which is lovely of them.

LittleMissFlustered · 23/02/2012 20:47

A sausage roll and a glass of milk constitutes a meal doesn't it? I really can't face cooking, I just want to go to bed >_

Kri5ty · 23/02/2012 20:55

lmf... milk is very nutritious, and a sausage roll has meaty goodness!! mmmm

aethelfleda · 23/02/2012 21:30

kri5ty, you must have posh sausage rolls around your way, ours are 10% meat and 90% filler!

Am listening to a cracking Les Barker comedy CD we got from an RNIB-related computer charity that funds computer access for people with poor vision: only £6 inc p&p for a double CD of celebrities reading Les's very funny (deadpan) poems. Highlights include Brian Perkins off radio 4 reading the alternative Shipping Forecast, Mark and Lard reading Jason and the Arguments, and Charlotte Green reading Voicemail. It's even got Spot of the Antarctic and Ted, the Man Who Was Eaten By His Own Bum.

Go halffway down page to "buy Guidecats and select "vol 1" from the dropdown menu. It's funny and for charidee...

LittleMissFlustered · 23/02/2012 21:44

Sounds intriguing aethel

I have augmented my sausage roll and glass of milk with a cup of decaf coffee...

NorthernChinchilla · 23/02/2012 22:00

If you have ketchup with it then that covers all the necessary foodgroups LMF

aethelfleda · 23/02/2012 22:31

lmf One of my friends at uni used to get drunk and recite Spot Of the Antarctic on a regular basis, so it has also got - lot of reminiscence value for me! Les Barker is completely silly, and a very astute poet.

Do bear in mind I'm still off the "official" internet, so the likelyhood of daft posts from me is likely to rise over the next days!

BeeMyBaby · 23/02/2012 23:08

went on the bus with the two DDs for the first time today... it was surprisingly ok - we went to the mosque playgroup but supposedly potty trained DD1 wet herself which went all the way to the carpet so I felt very guilty and tried to subtly soak it up with my sock, then went to visit my work and got a fair few more baby gifts - it was a bit like Christmas all over again with the unwrapping. Happydaze.

Sleep time!

girlsyearapart · 24/02/2012 04:40

mopsy when they learn to swim depends on how often you take them/what kind of water confidence they have really there's no set age.

Dd1 is 4.5 and can happily swim in very deep water, has her 15m badge & is learning to dive but one of her good friends of same age is just paddling with armbands on as she didn't/doesnt get taken much

The important thing with babies is to get them water confident & to have happy associations with the pool.

Don't be afraid to get their head/face wet and yours too!

Keep a huge smile permanently plastered on your face even if you're feeling nervous.

plutocrap · 24/02/2012 05:02

aethelfleda, that sounds fun. I do love Charlotte Green; I once saw her on Have I ot News for You and was so impressed with the humour behind her very plummy, deadpan delivery!

I did ;laugh about your downstairs bog thing. We had a child (about 4yo) over recently, who asked, "Wherer's the televison?" He was standing right next to it. Perhaps he thought it was a computer monitor?

BeeMyBaby: oh, dear. Hope she wasn't too distressed about the wetting I'm sure the playroup people expect accidents from at least someone)

I've had to return the infant insert of the ergobaby, as DD seemed too tall fot it and squirmed and wailed piteously, so am left with the chicco carrioer, which she alsp seems to be finding uncomfortable. Has anyone heard anything good/bad about this m&p wrap? It's not too expensive for a stopgap (and Ican ebay it when DD is into the ergo).

Has the nutritious meal sustained you, LMF? Can't believe it's nearly 5 already!

BTW, NorthernChinchilla, it was cheeky, but true! I like to remind DH that his clients (I can't really call DS the "boss" of my work) could never be as demandin g and unreasonable as mine - certainly not as D&S's (namechange?) and Hawthers's lttle tantrummers! Sad

plutocrap · 24/02/2012 05:03

P.S. OiMissus, hope you're doing well with the crpssed legs!

SoTiredoftheWheelsontheBus · 24/02/2012 05:08

bleurgh, not a great night. Not sure if ds is going through anothergrowth spurt (he's now 12 weeks), but he's more unsettled at night, and my nipples are a bit sore from the extra feeds. With babies, things change all the time. They lull you into a false sense of security by only waking once or twice inthe night, then change it again. One bad night and already I had forgotten how tough it feels when you are so tired.

plan for today is to wait in for the gas man for the boiler check. If he's on time, I might still be able to get to the hv clinic to weigh ds (hasn't been weighed for a month, but clinics are only fortnightly, so if I can't get there today, the next one is mid March)

let's hope today is as warm as yesterday, although he weather took me by surprise - we went out for a walk with ds in his snowsuit

SoTiredoftheWheelsontheBus · 24/02/2012 05:14

the "where's the tv" and "downstairs loo" questions sound familiar here as well. One of ds1's friends came round for a play date. They'd been playing nicely in the sitting room for a while when the friend asked where the playroom was. Had to explain that this was it

plutocrap · 24/02/2012 05:18

LOL at all these childer with high standards.

aethelfleda · 24/02/2012 05:46

dS forgot his 2am feed. I know this eon't last but am v grateful for one night of sleep battery recharge. Thought I might have fed him in my sleep but boobs are enormous so I think not.
It's interesting how my reaction is identical the first night any of my DCs slept through is "eek, are they ok?!" . Hope everyone is OK (I'll see you again tomorrow night!)

mopsytop · 24/02/2012 05:48

Morning! Totally agree re: changing routine SoTired, minimopsy just went through until 5:30, it's been 3:30 for a good few weeks. Not surre how this will affect our daytime routine now...

Sequin1 · 24/02/2012 06:42

Hi, quick check in as mum down for the week and DS birthday tomorrow so busy busy and trying to give image of doting earth mother rather than mother who 'surfs' at every opportunity! Hope everyone is good, sounds like some are being treated to the odd nights decent sleepSmile

hawthers · 24/02/2012 07:06

V happy that mire sleep is being had by many but also vvv Envy as I'm still waking f up to feed every 3 hours .... Can't wait to be able to let him do his own thing. Hopefully by then I won't have conditioned him into waking that often and so we'll be stuck with it. That would really suck.

aethelfleda · 24/02/2012 07:32

You're doing brilliantly hawthers and all the hard work will pay off soon!

LittleMissFlustered · 24/02/2012 07:48

Octopus went three between feeds last night instead of two:)

Feel dreadful, need more paracetamol.

Figgygal · 24/02/2012 08:17

Morning all

Well LO has still seemingly survived his jabs unscathed and slept from 10.30-7 this morning so is having a bumper breakfast this morning to make up for the dropped night feed. Today we going out for lunch, visiting inlaws and going for a walk then tonight I'm off to Zumba for the 2nd time this week.

Bad news is I have signs of periods returning which is disappointing as have become used to not having them the last year.

Hope you have fab days planned ladies!!

DeterminedandSpecialMum · 24/02/2012 09:42

Just testing my new name.

Darcie threw carrot batons on the carpet last night very close to Sky because she didn't want them - it was only 3 little ones as well! :(

Taking Sky to Boogie mites this morning and Infant Massage this afternoon. Then back to make a yummy spag Bol with garlic bread for dinner later.

I made a really nice fish bake on weds and DP throughly enjoyed it. First time i'd made it that way.

4 pieces of white fish chopped into pieces
2 handfuls of prawns
1 leek chopped up
1 onion chopped up
salt & pepper.

All chucked into a deep dish frying pan to cook for about 15mins.

300ml double cream added and allowed to simmer for about 5mins, then chucked into a pyrex roasting dish. Sliced potatoes added to the top & grated cheese on top of that and chucked in the oven for 30mins on 180degrees.

served up with veg was yummy.
