Four4me · 21/03/2012 14:21

Hi all. Glad you all seem really well.
Just had my mothers day lunch at school with T and J (and A) it was yummy. Seriously considering sneaking in for lunch every day. Chicken pie, new pots loads of veg. A choice of three different types of sponge and custard. Homemade bread. All for £2.10.

Poor you emski about the tooth. My crown was a total disater. Temporary one fell off, permanent one was f**king agony so I opted to have an extraction. Then got an infection in the socket. Ouch. Hope you get it sorted.

Hope mrwiggles has a fab trip and brings you and the girls lots of goodies back.

tadjennyp · 21/03/2012 17:01

I love Beaches and The Way We Were - I even watched the reunion interview of RR and BS on Oprah. Blush Blush Blush I also love The Wedding Singer and Top Gun and will watch them if they come on. Blush

Wiggs - I'm sure you've said but is MrWiggs going to DC or the lovely Washington State? One of dh's colleagues is moving to DC this weekend and taking 5 days to drive across the country!

Ouch to crowns Emski and Four4. Hope you get yours sorted soon Emski. Loving the Mother's Day lunch Four4! And what's wrong with pasta Emski? S has been eating that since he was about 7 months old. Hmm

Hope the new pill is much more suitable Ponyo. I think I've also been on microgynon at some point, but none of them ever made my periods lighter.

Choose a carpet that will clean up easily. I have really pale carpets here throughout the whole house (so I can't change just one room, for example) and it looks grey in high traffic areas. Sad

I'd love some Spring MizK, but the google doodle is as close as I'm going to get! Snowing again this morning so had to drive dh to work again. Most of the year he cycles so we decided to only have one car, but that does make us an oddity here!

Are you doing a 2ww thread blizy, or just keeping it between us? Fingers v definitely crossed here.

Hope L is feeling better American.

Have fun painting Robin!

Hello to everyone else!

blizy · 21/03/2012 17:21

Tad- boo to the snow! We only have one car too which I use as I bought a 7 seater for work( Dh has a works jeep thing though).
I'm not on a 2ww thread, I share here and the Angels and rainbows conception thread I'm on.
Hope you and the kids are well.

tadjennyp · 21/03/2012 17:26

Dcs are very well thanks, blizy. E in particular is v excited about flying back to see his gps and worried that we don't have enough money. I guess he picks up on it when I say things like, 'we have save up for our trip.' etc. I don't want them to think they can have whatever they want without saving for it first. Blush What car do you have, blizy, if you don't mind me asking? Have you booked that Vegas trip yet? Willing it to be your month.

blizy · 21/03/2012 17:37

That's so sweet. You are right though they pick up on everything! I have a zafira, I hate it but it works and suits my needs and fits in baby/booster seats.
We are booking up very soon. We will def be going in may though.

reastie · 21/03/2012 18:39

tad we made the mistake of choosing a ridiculously pale carpet in our sitting room. I get itchy whenever anyone drinks a cup of tea in there Blush . I chose a carpet which can be bleach cleaned Grin

Those of you having dental issues - is it wrong that my first thought was how annoying now you don't get dental care free anymore Hmm

ems sounds v annoying re: mil. Was she annoyed at N having pasta or that he was having your pasta? MIL was digging at me yesterday that Alice should nap in her cot in the day not taken for walks in her buggy to sleep Angry - tbh it is a bit annoying walking alice to sleep, but it's good for me and it's a million times better than a few months ago when she would only feed to sleep and nap on me maybe she doesn't want to go for a walk on the rare occasion she has to get alice to sleep

blizy are there any good shows on in vegas you are planning to see while you're there?

ledkr · 21/03/2012 18:43

I am lmao at the pill discussion.Considering not many of us dtd its amusing.

borg your drunken antics sound so much like mine,i think we should have a few more.
I had a friend who neeeded a 7 seater when out with friends but they sent a normal car so 2 of the smallest got on each others shoulders in a long coat and pretended to be one Grin

I also once got into a car with 6 other women demanding the "taxi" take us to the next club. The man was begging us not to squash his little dog and it turned out he was just a Dad picking up his dd's.
There were 5 in the back and 2 in the front,we were all laughing hysterically.
My mate was so pissed that when she got out of the car she thought we were there.

MizK · 22/03/2012 11:14

Ooh I love hearing drunken exploits it makes me feel less bad about my own. My lowlight this year was my 30th, 14 of us went to jamie's Italian, stole loads of pepper and salt, napkins etc (apparently I was screeching to everyone - Steal things! Jamie won't mind!) Then being caught sliding down the banister and being asked nicely to get down, replying sulkily, You should be nice to me, my friend Liz is Italian (She isnt). Topped off by being sick into a wheelie bin. Disgrace :)
blizy Vegas will be amaze I reckon, not that i've been there (sob)
emski Your MIL is an odd one, isnt she? Pasta? Its not like you were feeding her turkey twizzlers or Haribo ffs.
reastie we just carpeted our living room and also chose a bleachable carpet, its the way forward :)
tad E sounds so sweet!
four4 school lunch sounds lush - apart from the lack of cornflake tart! Thats the one thing I used to enjoy about school lunch, our school relied heavily on spam fritters and horrid meat pie....
Such a nice day today, have been walking with titch in the sunshine. However she gets feisty and refuses to hold my hand so we usually have a stand off followed by me scooping her up as she squawks angrily!

wigglesrock · 22/03/2012 20:01

Evening

Well Mr W is in NY on his way to Washington Envy, its DC tadjennyp . So I went to Tescos and did my week alone shopping, have cheese and Easter Eggs and thats me set Grin

I love cornflake tart too MizK, Olivia goes to school dinners and I keep interogating her on her dessert, she's most unimpressed with the whole idea of dessert Shock, we usually just have something after dinner on a Sunday so she's a bit wtf about having them every day, as she informed me she'd rather have a starter Hmm

Anna almost climbed out of the trolley in Tescos today Shock, my head is turned with her climbing at the minute!

OP posts:
blizy · 22/03/2012 20:19

Wiggles- enjoy your Choccy and cheese! How long is he gone for?

Seriously is Sophia not bothered about pudding Shock Grin at her preferring a starter.

ledkr · 22/03/2012 20:33

That is funny about Sophia prefering a starter haha. I remember Ella asking my Auntie for some cherry tomatoes or olives when she was about 3.My Aunt found a jar of olives but Ella said she preferred them in oil if you please Grin

The climbing must drive you mad.Dilly has been having tantrums of the hurl herself backwards if i wont let her break my laptop or rip out my eyes/hair. Today she hurled herself off the sofa- bump no 1 then onto the quarry tiled floor-concussion lastly out of a play car onto the patio-grazed cheek.I think she needs a child protection enquiry.

Me and dh had a date today.Went to cinema but i felt sick all the way through cos it was one of those shakey films, then we went for a chinese buffet,it was ok,not like the old days though.

Mizk Thats funny,me and my mates boyf ran into our Jamies and stole badges and pasta the other week haha.
I once lit my fag off someones birthday cake in a restaurant then ran out giggling to myself. I later went to the ymca carpark just to do the dance, then ran off when i saw dh and my friends cos i knew they were going to make me go home which was boooooring!

Does anyone want a laugh (its a serious issue really but funny) Look on the Anne Summers vile vile thread. WIGGLES Maybe you could get one as a treat for Mr W when he returns to the fold. Grin

blizy · 22/03/2012 20:36

Ha ha ha ledkr- I saw that thread and was secretly GrinGrin.

I don't envy you with the tantrums.Confused

ledkr · 22/03/2012 20:46

Well by the time you are having to deal them we can all nod sagely and give you advice. Mine will be roll eyes and swear under your breath Grin

Imagine what Dillys are like though she is after all a red head

ledkr · 22/03/2012 20:46

Btw did you read the reply that said a tea towel would do the job Grin

blizy · 22/03/2012 20:57

nah, I got bored after the first page! Btw, I was a red head as a child bit don't have the temperament.

wigglesrock · 22/03/2012 21:05

blizy ledkr Its O with the starters Grin, it turned out that one day when they have hamburgers they get soup first and it just the yummiest ever Shock, I personally have my doubts. Sofia would rather eat cold food, she's not a fan of "dinners" at all!

Both of them are at bit meh about desserts they would rather have bread - I have peasant children Grin I am very lax about them having chocolate, we wouldn't have much in the house (well I have first dibs) but if they want chocolate if we're out I would usually get it for them and it has resulted in sweets not being a big deal for them, they can take or leave it because its not a big no no. They are two of the least greediest children I have ever met, if someone had given me sweets as a child I would literally have eaten myself ill with it but they just have some and then leave the rest - I'm really not sure where they get their self restraint from, it not from me or Mr W Blush

I nosyed at that thread too, I'm afraid if I presented Mr W with anything from the Ann Summers shop, he would be very frightened and would assume it was meant for someone else Grin

americanexpat · 23/03/2012 09:01

L does tantrums AND climbing, it's a fecking nightmare with him now. Yesterday was horrible, it seemed he was never happy. Wanted to be picked up then fought to get down, tried to get him to play in the garden while I was hanging the washing out and he attached himself to my leg and sobbed. Sob sob ear-piercing scream sob, that was our day. I was happy to leave him at nursery this morning. Blush

wiggles - Grin at the starter. I never gave L many sweets but he gets pudding every day at nursery, they have to watch their fingers or he'll take them off. Grin

reastie - huge eye-roll at your MIL. All well and good for her to "know" what Alice should do, getting her to do it is a different matter and we have to pick our battles as parents. My mum gave me trouble when L was sleeping with me as a tiny baby, I told her politely to sod off and that we'll do what's right for us, and that was that.

Emski - huge eye-roll at your MIL too. I wonder if their MILs told them how to raise their children too?

I've given up on hormonal contraception for the moment. I was on various pills for 8 years and felt so much better when I came off. Not that I need contraception now anyway. Blush

reastie · 23/03/2012 14:14

american alice is going crazy with the climbing now too - she's got some toddler chairs and just can't resist climbing on them and perilously jumping off them on to the floor all the time, she's also suddenly mastered the stairs too and is scarily fast up them.

wiggles I see the great logic in your parenting as to not to ban anything or it will be the coveted thing they can't have. I'm thinking of changing my whole outlook and adopting a 'what would wiggles do' philosophy. We are quite strict with alices food now and don't give her anything like chocolate etc but that's mainly as I think she's young enough not to be bothered by not knowing what it is and she doesn't have older siblings force-feeding her Grin .

I too am now hormone free and feel great without all those hormones mucking up my system - long live my 10 year coil Grin

ledkr love the red head comments. Dilly is going to be a real character isn't she Grin

Well, I'm hoping alice will nap for a really long time this afternoon. PIL had her this morning (they never usually do today but DM working) and alice was utterly exhausted. Think OTT play time and then triple it and you've got what Alice had most of the morning. When dm came back she said alice looked v relieved to see her and practically fell asleep straight away. Of course mil knew exactly why alice seemed to look tired know it all and it was nothing to do with that she was actually tired apparently Hmm . Just wish PIL could see how full on they were and could tone it down. Alice just finds it too much.

ledkr · 23/03/2012 14:16

I must have skimmed the mil posts sorry. You know my feelings on mils so blah blah blah reastie and ems Mils grrr.
My mil knows frigging better tbh,we are going to fall out in the future though cos like wiggs I dont restrict any foods and mine eat a very balanced diet and arent keen on sweets and puddings. I also let them play with make up and girly stuff when they are younger and i am known to swear and hear an echo Hmm they are just well boring i guess.
Ella has just done her modern exam then i rushed her back to school to run a mile dressed as sean the sheep Grin then shes back at dancing then again tomorrow to learn a new dance and i have just realised that she is dancing in bristol on one of the Bugsy days arrrrgh.
Did anyone see my spooky thread? Its getting really good now.

Oh forgot to say.Mum has Dills whilst i sorted out Ella so at the moment i actually have a whole hour free,i am sat on the sofa with a cup of vile green tea (a vague attempt at health after my earlier burger)

Happy Fridays all.

tadjennyp · 23/03/2012 21:25

Well done Ella! Loving the drunken escapades. Seems so long since I last had one. I spilled wine on my friend's $2300 purse (who spends that much on a handbag? Shock ) which she was not impressed with and fell out of the taxi when I got home. Dh had to carry me in and come home early the next day to look after the dcs.Blush Not anywhere near as exciting as yours!

I haven't restricted sweets either, but dd would eat them all day long if she could so I have to say no, whereas ds1 isn't bothered. S does like the odd choc button!

Anyway, just wanted to wish you all a lovely weekend!

ledkr · 24/03/2012 08:34

american Most days with Dils are like that for me.Whinge-get picked up-whinge and wiggle to get down-repeat. The mornings are the worst cos she wakes too early i think and so by 7.30 is hatefull.I have been going out for early morning power walks with the pram im so desperate!

God i watched sport relief last night and judt kept sobbing,so did Ella. You feel so sodding useless sat on your sofa dont you?I di give a big (for me) donation though.

I just had a little nosey on the cb thread. I cant believe people who are bleating on about losing it when they "chose to stay at home to care for the dc cos its best for them and invest cb for their future" Shock and Angry
We earn less than that between us and i rely on my cb for anything enjoyable for the dd's. Unrealistic or what. Id be pissed off if dh earned 60k and i was worried about 20 pounds a week Grin

Emski76 · 24/03/2012 09:11

Hi all
Ledkr, I sky Plussed some of Sport Relief and am watching while the boys are at football. Just saw the bit where David Walliams went to Kenya, I sobbed when the little boy hugged him!

And yes the cb thread has annoyed me. If only dh earned enough to stop our cb AND I got to be with my boys everyday instead of going out to work! I can't read those threads cos they just enrage me!

Noah has been quite moany as is teething, still practising walking tho, always with this tongue sticking out!

Ledkr, I went to a child protection awareness seminar on Wednesday evening and thought of you, as you must deal with these thins everyday at work. We are definitely going to implement some of the stuff at our Rainbows group. Was a definite bonus that it was held at a fire station tho, as I walked it they were going on a call, was tres exciting!

Hope your all ok. Munching hot cross buns with choc philli on, naughty but nice.

Four4me · 24/03/2012 10:15

Hi all, quick post. Getting ready for a night out tonight. Will take all afternoon to deliver children, then tomorrow morning to collect them Grin

Poor Archie had his mmr on Thursday. He has red lumps on his thighs but ok in himself.

We totally missed sport relief as we watched the apprentice from wednesday. We completely forgot! I would have been blubbing too. The boys did a run at school yesterday. Thomas managed to run the whole mile, but looked like a beetroot as he insisted on keeping his jumper on in the sunshine....Wally!

Have a lovely weekend fab feb ladies x

ledkr · 24/03/2012 12:53

for4 Imagine Ella then in her Shaun Sheep costume Shock
Dilly had two red lumps too,the worst id ever seen. I often wonder if its worth going out by the time i have packed all their stuff up and arrnaged food and taken them to places.
Its an absolutely fab day here. Its like summer.Im just going to dig out some lines trousers as im so hot in my jeans. We have beent o the park, the girls are having a picnic and then off to a fete.
I bought Dills her first pair of shoes this am,i couldnt bare to see her in floppy pram shoes any longer, shes not impressed, she wouldnt even walk in the shop just dropped to her knees and screamed.Hmm

ems I just got used to it really,i get upset about odd stuff now like kids having a great life in foster care before we have no choice but to return them to their shitty parents and inadequate lives.Makes me cry at night that one.
Theyd be better off no knowing how life could be for them. Sad

Four4me · 24/03/2012 14:01

I bet Ella was cooked!! So funny a running sheep girl.
All bags packed, babies napping, boys having their ds's for a bit then off to drop them all off. Think I'll get a couple of tins of red bull on the way home to give me wings!!!!!! Will be so weird coming home to an empty house. We have only once in the last 13 months had no children at home!
Enjoy the fête, lovely day for it.

I took Archie to get some cruisers as his leather pram shoes are floppy and i think his ankles could do with some support. His feet were not quite a 2.5 so she said to wait a bit. Probably expains why he is so wobbly when he (occasionally) stands unsupported! Diddy feet. So funny that Dilly protested, bless her. Love a good shoe shop paddy.

Enjoy the sun.......
