Hello all. Couldn't see a new thread so thought I'd do the honours. Sorry for rubbish title, I'm no good at witty! :)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CappuccinoCarrie · 26/10/2012 13:13

yes to shoes. School shoes, plimsols, wellies, trainers. Then home shoes, party shoes, wellies again. Thank goodness DD gave up dance as there used to be tap and ballet shoes too!
Oh badvoc you poor thing :(
meglet will 40 lengths do instead of the crunches? Grin

Meglet · 26/10/2012 13:32

carrie I will accept 40 lengths as an alternative.

Just been to yoga this morning, now I have an hour to finish my tea and have a tidy. DD's room is a bombsite (stuff on the floor and everything Angry). Think I will clear it into bin bags then do a big sort down stairs where I have more room

Badvoc · 26/10/2012 14:38

The - ahem - eagle has landed :)
Am spending as much of today on the sofa as possible apart from some light ironing and wrapping Xmas presents later on this evening...
Only got my sil and pil to get now! :)
Hurrah!

CappuccinoCarrie · 27/10/2012 13:24

Hurrah indeed badvoc! Bet that's a relief Wink

Badvoc · 27/10/2012 13:31

:)
Yes it is!
I did All xmas the wrapping last night, cards done too.
Just need to do the ironing now...:(
Making morning at church for the advent banner and only 2 kids plus mine turned up :( the vicar has basically washed his hands of the project even though it was his idea. Am really cross. Not answering e mails etc.
I am not getting involved next year.
Totally fed up.

Badvoc · 28/10/2012 14:23

Blimey it's quiet on here ATM!....
Hope you are all too busy having a good time to post!
Back to school/pre school tomorrow for my two. They had an awful night last night, both of them...Toby had a nightmare about crabs (!) and Tom just couldn't get to sleep...til he came into my bed, then he magically did :)
Very tired now.
Dh taking them up to pils for an hour so I can have a nap.
Remembered to change the clock back too!

CappuccinoCarrie · 28/10/2012 21:53

I'll be quiet on here this week, parents visiting for half term and DH has got a couple of days off for the first time since August. Just watched strictly, surprised at who went out but they were never going to last more than a couple of weeks anyway. Anyone else watching it???

Badvoc · 29/10/2012 07:20

oh yes!
Big strictly fans here :)
I thought it might be Sid, or fern.
Surprised Colin was in bottom 2.
Enjoy half term x

Meglet · 30/10/2012 21:32

We've started on Xmas cards. I sat the DC's down on sunday and made them scribble their 'signatures' on all the family cards, ie; no cbeebies until you've done them Grin. We had a little production line going.

Can you belive I'm still using up Xmas stuff from Woolies as I stocked up so much when they closed!

I've got a couple of days off this week. Will take DS swimming and they both have a dentist appointment.

Have you recovered now badvoc?

notcitrus · 30/10/2012 21:59

More colds here, had big Halloween party for loads of friends on the weekend (a cleaner is way cheaper than a babysitter!), slightly regretting staying up so late...

Have just remortgaged and got the go-ahead to replace our freezing falling-off kitchen. So now just need to find a reputable builder... unlike the loft saga! I managed to use the loo in the loft for the first time this weekend - so much for being finished before our 4yos were born!

Badvoc · 31/10/2012 07:19

Hi meg. No, not really :( back to docs today. Having my coil taken out too...had enough.
I have done all my cards and only need to buy a gift for one more person!
I don't do shopping in December. I refuse.
I do all my shopping (well 95% of it) online.

Badvoc · 31/10/2012 11:19

Oh dear.
You all hate me now, don't you? :)
I have such a busy December what with church stuff and family stuff I need it all done well in advance.
I love Xmas eve night...feel good TV, crack open the Xmas chocs, snuggled up in a blanket. If I had to wrap all the presents I would just sit and cry :)
Been to docs. Had coil removed. Really nt sure what's going in. All bloods have come back and are ok.
So what now?
Am trying not to panic and assume its a relapsekf my me/Cfs. But it is a possibility I have to face :(

CappuccinoCarrie · 31/10/2012 12:43

I am so impressed badvoc, and quite inspired to see if I can get it all done by the end of November so I can join you in December smuggery relaxation Grin
I've done the kids stockings apart from chocolate money, and I'm knitting the kids main presents, done DS1's dinosaur, DS2's monkey, and have made the legs of the fairy I'm making DD. We're not getting them anything other than that. Then its the three godsons, making photo calendars for grandparents, and its pretty much job done!
Good work on the bribery production line meglet
NC new kitchen, how exciting! Can you hold out til January to try and bag a sales bargain...?
Re: strictly, I was surprised at Colin too, the curse of mid-table mediocrity. I think Richard has to be the next to go, Fern is lovely but isn't going to win, I thought it was a bit early for Sid to go, but again he wasn't going to win. I wonder if Lisa has peaked and actually her entertaining performances aren't going to be enough to see her through if she has another week as technically poor as the jive?
DS1's bottom is still red and mucousy, and bleeds when he poos. Back to the doctors again tomorrow.

Badvoc · 31/10/2012 12:57

Carrie...December is a total smugfest for me :)
Completely agree re: your strictly run down :) I am not warming to fern at all.
Lisa has the tango this week which could be tricky.
Sorry about the botty issues...I wonder if its diet related?
Poor little thing :(

Meglet · 31/10/2012 17:55

My turn to be ill now. I've been in bed all day, no tv, nothing and only surfaced to check my bank account. Bit pissed off as unless it's just a 24hr bug I won't be able to take DS swimming tomorrow. I have just woken up ravenous and thirsty though (stepmum is delivering lemonade) so maybe it's settled down at last.

I don't really have to buy many Xmas presents. DD has got a second hand Barbie house (stiil in box with loads of barbies) so that's her pink tat and I'll get her some books to go with it. DS will get lots of Lego from everyone so I think I will get him a Robosapien toy. I do need to get stocking fillers though.

Badvoc · 31/10/2012 18:18

Oh no, a sicky bug? Or fluey bug?
Either way it's the pits :( hope you feel better soon x
Toby is hilarious. It's official
Talking about James Bond cars with ds1 and I asked them to draw me their version of a James bond spy car. So they did.
Ds1s had missiles, flame thrower, machine gun on bonnet, ejector seat etc
Toby's weapon of choice was....jam :)
Hs exact words were (and I think this will go down in family lore)
"My car is a helicopter too and it flies up in the air and drops jam on them and then they are doomed"
:)
We have already decided the next James Bond film should be called "jammy doom"
I may start up a petition :)

Meglet · 01/11/2012 10:04

badvoc a sicky bug. Although I'm currently munching through some toast as it seems to be out of my system now. However I won't be taking DS swimming as I found out he also went down with the bug when he was staying overnight at mums house, so swimming will be postponed until tomorrow when we're both back to normal.

Badvoc · 01/11/2012 14:40

Hope you both feel better soon x

CappuccinoCarrie · 01/11/2012 22:53

Well finally we have antibiotic cream for DS1's bottom! Its the same cream DD got for impetigo earlier in the year! So we've anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, steroid, and now anti-biotic. I think this one will actually clear it up.
badvoc I did wonder about diet but don't really know what it could be. He eats a really balanced diet, has neither constipation or diarrhoea, and 'goes' regularly. The doc just reckoned its a post-viral infection thing (colitis...?)
So that's four bottom creams for DS1 and four antibiotics for DDs UTI. We are bringing the NHS down Blush

Loving the idea of Jammy Doom, genius!

Badvoc · 02/11/2012 07:32

Ha! I know what you mean...at one point ds1s repeat prescription ran to 2 pages :)
I bet it's fucidin they gave him?
I am an old hand with anti fungal/anti biotic cream :)
Feel dog rough again today :(
It's jammy doom. That's what it is :(

CappuccinoCarrie · 02/11/2012 13:35

Yup, fucidin it is!
So sorry you're still feeling the effects of the jammy doom :( I looked down at my phone today and thought "why does it say 2nd November?" til I realised that it is 2nd November. Seriously, where has 2012 gone?

My exciting news of the day is that after a week of intensive swimming lessons, DD swam 50m breaststroke today! I welled up Blush

Badvoc · 02/11/2012 15:48

Wow! 50metres? That's great :)
I could walk 50metres, but swim? No.
Jammy doom all over the place today :(
And dh away with work next week (weeps)

Just back from holiday in Turkey with my childminder and a group of her friends. It was lovely to have some sun and the kids loved swimming in the sea (a lot warmer than the pool!). We went on a boat trip and DD1 jumped right off the top (about 8 meters!). She also enjoyed the haggling at the markets. It was a well needed break. Both she and I had tonsillitis while we were away - she started her AB's the day we went and me 3 days later but there are worse places to be ill.

I've now spent the whole day trying to clean and tidy - how did I manage to make it take soooo long??

Carrie - that's impressive swimming. Weren't you worried about her swimming at some point?

Badvoc sorry to hear that you're still feeling rough :( Very Envy about the Christmas presents though, I haven't even thought about it. Aaahh

I'm doing the Hell Run tomorrow - 12 miles multi terrain and through chest deep water at one part. I must be mad! Wish me luck Grin

Badvoc · 02/11/2012 16:55

Good luck ninja!

Meglet · 02/11/2012 20:10

ninja Envy can I swap you my weekend with the small people for a Hell Run! I was wondering where you went on holiday, I saw it on FB but didn't read where it was. It looked like brilliant fun!

DD has just had an epic 30 min tantrum, I've had to hide on the laptop while she has time out and I calm down. It's given me stomach pains again so I daren't eat any tea. I swear these kids will be the death of me Sad.
