Hello all. Couldn't see a new thread so thought I'd do the honours. Sorry for rubbish title, I'm no good at witty! :)

Ninja he is just as Star says, controlling and very vindictive and nasty. I don't know how you cope without lamping him.
I would continue to be very calm (I know it's hard), prepared, organised and as friendly as possible to him. YOu know it gets his back up but to the mediator and to any solicitors or any officials helping your through the divorce and any custody arrangements you look like the perfect mum and exwife and he will look deranged and unstable.

StarlightMcKenzie · 18/01/2013 22:48

Wot Debs said. So sorry you have to have this man in your life, but at least you don't have him in your house any more. I've never read it but someone I rate very highly recommends the book 'Don't Shoot the Dog' by Karen Pryor for learning how to shape your behaviour to shape the behaviour of others. Wonder if that might help.

ninja · 22/01/2013 23:21

Thanks Star I'm glad I don't have him in my house either :) It's just annoying that I can't just forget him.

You lot are great, though, at injecting some sanity

I'll look up the book, thanks.

He's away skiing this week so I have the kids to myself. The house is a mess but it's great :)

StarlightMcKenzie · 23/01/2013 16:53

skiing? blimey. Hope you use that to ensure he understands why you'll not supplement his lifestyle even for the children's sake.

iirc, he was once whinging he couldn't afford to get the children beds Hmm

ninja · 23/01/2013 17:08

I know, you're right Star. He also asked me to help finance taking them to visit his family!

He went away (on a plane) 8 TIMES last year!!!! (twice to Ireland with family, twice skiing, summer hol with kids, summer hol with one kid, autumn holiday with family, long weekend with mates .....) - many of these AFTER taking voluntary redundancy

This year he's planned a skiing holiday alone and one with the kids. He told me he might not be able to afford to take the kids Hmm - I'd already planned something for that week.

Next time I picked up the kids I found out that he'd gone back onto the FULL SKY package (around 70 per month) so clearly he has his priorities right!

StarlightMcKenzie · 23/01/2013 18:21

Right. Well ask him how much he thinks ne needs. Then tell him that you will spend that money yourself on the kids the week he doesn't take them.

ninja · 23/01/2013 18:48

:) It's OK - he knows not to ask again

CappuccinoCarrie · 23/01/2013 21:27

StarlightMcKenzie · 24/01/2013 13:40

Debs75 · 24/01/2013 15:46

Congratulations Carrie 4 is a doddle, especially to miss super organised you.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/01/2013 16:36

I just saw the thread pop up on active and thought I must go and say hello, and it looks like I chose a good time Grin

Many many congratulations Carrie, lovely news Smile

notcitrus · 24/01/2013 20:57

Carrie Feeding a snotty baby back to sleep again. She did sleep a whole 6 hours after her first nursery session but hasn't repeated that this week. Still, should be better once she and I get over yet more colds.

Most of my MNing and emails are done while feeding her. Though she's still a violent critter so quite looking forward to stopping soon. If I can get her to sleep any other way, that is.

CappuccinoCarrie · 25/01/2013 13:25

Oh dear NC, hope she gives you more sleep soon!

Someone's really going to have to come up with a new thread title soon! Bearning in mind this one is just a few weeks off its first birthday, who knows what we'll be doing by this time next year?!

ninja how are you doing? So impressed as always about how you keep your cool in the face of such twatbadgery.

star I'm dreading that feeling of knowing that I'm done, but 4 really is it so you can counsel me through grief at the end of each of the milestones! It'll be weird finishing with bits of baby equipment and then giving them away, rather than putting back in the loft 'for next time'. There are four of us pg at church at the moment (although the others don't know about me) including my friend who had a stillborn baby last April, and she's due on the same day as a mutual friend who had a miscarriage last autumn, so June is going to be a really happy month!

Mine is due on DS1's birthday, really hoping its super late and goes into October though.

debs thank you for the blind optimism Grin

Meglet · 25/01/2013 13:37

Wow! Congrats Carrie!

4 kids is really entering the larger family zone isn't it. Although I suspect that 'well' spaced out DC's aren't too much trouble, you'll have both your older ones at school by the time this one appears.

Does this mean you have a few Autumn birthdays in your house?

CappuccinoCarrie · 25/01/2013 13:45

meglet yes...things are so well spaced out at the moment - March (me), April (DD), July (DH), August (DS2), September (DS1). Although the DSs are only 4 weeks apart it seems like more because one is in summer holidays and one is well into Autumn. And now we're looking at three birthdays in four weeks . Comes of only being fertile when full of festive cheer Grin
Yes DS1 will start school a few weeks before this baby is due.
I just can't wait to tell people in RL! But I'm not 12 weeks til March.

Badvoc · 28/01/2013 11:34

Badvoc · 28/01/2013 11:36

Forgot about that :)

Badvoc · 28/01/2013 11:36

I shall start a new thread (it's all I will achieve today...)

ninja · 29/01/2013 12:56

New thread here

I did look Badvoc but couldn't see that you'd started one and wanted to do it before this thread got full.

Even if I'm in lurking mode I like the security blanket of this thread and want to be nosey about Carrie's pregnancy!
