Have gone with LMFs title suggestion :)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Breasts have been really sore today. I had to stop at the shopping centre to wake LO and force feed him to reduce the pressure. Have fed him lots today, and have just expressed every drop I can. No red marks, but the pain has been building up for a couple of weeks - I just keep on feeding. Hope it's just a blip. (also hope LO doesn't want feeding again until his 10pm bedtime feed so I can build back up a supply!) I was only able to express 150ml after all today's feeds, otherwise I'd be hitting the booze with gusto!
Keep meaning to say, well done mmmm for starting the new thread. Better late than never.

OiMissus · 04/02/2012 20:17

(I meant better saying thank you late than never, not that mmmm started the thread late!)
The lights keep flickering here, the candles are primed and ready. Grin

We had friends over with their 4 month old but they went home as it started to snow. They kept exclaiming how small DS was, but it brought home again how fast babies change and grow, their LO was at the next stage where they are perky and awake for far longer.

Hoping it doesn't snow too much: the girls are excited but I'm not looking forward to an icy walk to school where I have to weigh up the risk of falling if I put DS in the moby wrap versus him freezing if I put him in the sledge.... if there's packed ice on the pavement its easy as out come the YakTrax and I'll sledge the girls and carry DS, but if it gets that bad I suspect they will close school...we live in suburbia so not going to get snowed in at least. Hope all you guys are OK with this weather!

aethelfleda · 04/02/2012 20:53

Oh and it's been weird but I've had sore boobs too since DS had his tongue tie done: feels like at the beginning when my milk first came in: I wonder if my boobs are upregulating now that he can feed better so the supply is increasing?

msbuggywinkle · 04/02/2012 21:02

Chooks are fine, hiding snuggled up in their run all afternoon. My lovely cat hasn't come home though Sad DDs haven't noticed yet. DP is going to wander the streets calling in the morning.

aethelfleda · 04/02/2012 21:33

Oh no msb, hope your kitty has curled up warm somewhere- good luck for finding them tomorrow xx

AWomanCalledHorse · 04/02/2012 22:26

Hope KittyBuggy comes home tomorrow MsB, probably curled up in someone's warm house, eating all the decent meat! x

DS has only had 4 feeds today!! He's been asleep since 7pm, yaaaaaaay!

Hope everyone is ok with the weather!

BeeMyBaby · 04/02/2012 22:54

I'm not managing to keep up with this thread at all since DD1 and DH came back from their hols. DH managed to get a lovely bedside crib for DD2 so now the two hourly night feeds aren't quite so horrendous as I can just roll her away.
I've also STILL not written thank you cards for the baby gifts I got 2 months ago...anyone else as rude as me?

Hello! I just slept right through minimopsy's feeding cues, husband actually had to nudge me awake. That's the first time that's happened! I did the last feed so didn't get to bed until midnight so I guess was just exhausted in spite of lovely long sleep last night. Doing this night feed, then husband will do 7am-ish one so I can have a nice lie in. Yay for weekends!!!

Heater blasting away, freezing here! Good bit of snow.

girlsyearapart · 05/02/2012 03:31

Morning
Best effort so far from H.
8.15-3
I went to sleep around 915 so would have had a brilliant sleep had it not been for dds1&2 waking me up so I had to go into their room 6 times
I swear these kids are in training for the Olympic relay.

Hope the cat turns up soon

AnAirOfHope · 05/02/2012 03:50

Snow here too Grin

Air got a bike for his birthday but can ride it outside yet. It has stablisers on it but he still managed to fall off it twice in the shop - only our child could do that i swear! Nursary think he has a risk posative personality as all the other childern will not go up the stipe bank but our child runs up it and then rolls down it!

We went out for a meal today and Air played in sorfplay and had fun. Hope was so well behavioued and was trying to sit up and look round. She didn't cry once Smile

Year - Sorry about your LO rocky start and glad he is better now.

MsB - hope the cat comes home, maybe its shealtering from the snow and will come home later?

KateM77 · 05/02/2012 10:10

Feeling grumpy. I bloody hate snow! The only way in or out of our village is in a 4 x 4 so DH will have to take my car to get to work tomorrow and I'll be stuck at home with both kids until it thaws. I'm supposed to have my hospital appointment tomorrow but unlikely to make it there, not sure if DD will be able to go to nursery Tues and Weds, my sister was due to visit for a few days from tomorrow too and that's now unlikely to happen. Hoping for a quick thaw or I'll go stir crazy!

DD seems to be about as big a fan of it as me. It's the first time she's been old enough to go out and play in it. She didn't like it at all and is now indoors saying "no more snow" (or "no more no" as she pronounces it!)

aethelfleda · 05/02/2012 10:28

No fun kate but I hope being in that sort of location I bet you get more house for your money which you can enjoy the other 51 weeks of the year when it doesn't snow! We live in deepest suburbia where there's quite a few London commuters (my DH works in London) and our house is "compact" because anything bigger (or with a big garden) costs an absolute fortune. Out friends came to visit the other day and told us to their plans to buy an enormous 5 bedroom house with half an acre of orchard and paddock for £285 grand somewhere near Sheffield. I was SO jealous (repeats to self "do not covet thy neighbour's 'ouse")

We lived in Yorkshire prior to kids and it was lovely there...

AnAirOfHope · 05/02/2012 11:01

Air out in garden making snow angels. He loves the snow and i can't wait to take him to Sheffield ski village to learn to snowboard Grin

I want to take him on a snowboarding holiday with my friend from uni when he is older.

Lazy sunday here.

KateM77 · 05/02/2012 11:35

aethel as ever, good point, well made!

NorthernChinchilla · 05/02/2012 12:14

Piles of snow here in North Kent; we may venture out later for a walk, but may just stay in by the fire...

'Late' night last night- went to bed at midnight, wooo- but the LO only fed at 3 and 6, so not too bad at all. No night-time nappy change meant a dry bed, and we went and pestered DP around 10.

BLTs for lunch, and get some washing done, but nothing strenuous- just catching up on Time Team at the moment, whilst LO dozes in Moses!

Glad to see you back Bee, I was thinking that we'd not heard from you just last night. I've only done a few thank-yous tbh, to those I wouldn't otherwise see, and we've kind of got our hands full at the moment!

'ONLY' 150 after all those feeds Oi? Wow, I'm impressed. On a good day, I can manage about 60ml, and that's with pumping in the morning when I feel fuller. It's funny how some people (or their boobs) are just happier at expressing- you'd think it would be if you could bf, you could express. I have to save up three days' expresses/expressions? to make one feed! Hope both your and aethel's sore boobs go.

Still no news on the kitty msb? Fingers crossed for you and the DDs that she returns.

Keep warm and safe all, and best wishes to all whose LOs are not well at the moment, I'm sure the snow is just an added complication for you.

LittleMissFlustered · 05/02/2012 12:36

Sorry have been absent. Have been in a haze of hospital induced twilight zone. We're still here, just waiting for the octopus to get his lungs in gear and do fuctioning without the oxygen.

I have set up a flickr account, seeing as I can't get the profile on here to work. If I have got this link wrong I may need an electronic haddoc:o

linky

LittleMissFlustered · 05/02/2012 12:43

Also: We had snow overnight. It's stopped falling, but is still there and we have a beautiful pea-souper of a fog going on.

Hope everyone is well and keeping warm.

KateM77 · 05/02/2012 12:54

LMF the linky worked. What gorgeous kids you have. Sorry the octopus is still in the box. Fingers crossed you'll get out of there soon. I feel so bad for my grumbling about the snow now, thinking of your situation puts things into perspective Blush. Take care x

LittleMissFlustered · 05/02/2012 13:05

Don't feel bad Kate, it's not as if he is seriously ill like some of the other kids on the ward, he just hasn't got his full lung capacity back yet. Each of us feels dragged down by the things in our lives, and that is entirely ntural and right. We're all here to support each other, and if you need a chunter (and who doesn't?!) let rip and demand as many haddock or cups of tea as necessary:)

DarcieandSkysmum · 05/02/2012 13:16

LMF Hope Octoboy's lungs reach full working order soon.

Can I demand huge haddocks for DP today please - he's being an arse of the highest order Sad

On a happier note my sister announces her pregnancy yesterday - really happy for her Smile

LittleMissFlustered · 05/02/2012 14:11

I'm watching Willy Wonka with Edward. Seems wrong without the other two being here too:(

NorthernChinchilla · 05/02/2012 14:11

Oooh, LMF, glad to hear from you, I'd started to worry. Glad to see the pictures, mobile octopus is ace! And the box is a definite step up from poorly octopus, and will certainly feature on the catwalks next season...

This thread is definitely for chuntering, worrying, grumbling, (for some of us) PFB-ing, and mentalling- don't know what I'd do without it!

Hope he stops being an arse soon, but that's lovely news about your sister- is it her first?

NorthernChinchilla · 05/02/2012 14:12

You got a double helping of haddock there Darcies, should soon sort him out!
