Morning ladies, mmmm my reprieve lasted just a few days after all. LO fed at 8:30pm, 01:00, 04:00, 06:00, 07:00, 08:00...

My plan:
Drink coffee (before LO wants to feed again and it goes cold again)
Pick up stuff from other house
Go shopping
Walk dogs
Order mum and dad's birthday presents
Tidy house in prep for friends coming around tonight for a food and film fest.

Sorry to hear about all those ill LOs and DCs, hope they all get better soon. There does seem to be a lot going round at the moment lots of family and friends are ill at the moment so we are hibernating. It will be spring soon and these horrible germs will be gone and we will have lovely spring like days (hopefully) and will be able to take LOs out without having to stuff them into snow suits!

I was suppose to get hair done on Thursday, but hairdresser was ill so have to wait until Friday so will have to continue looking like a scummy mommy.

Well done to those that have met up and had a lovely time, I am looking forward to going to see my friend from work that had a little girl a week after me on Tuesday.

Don't have many plans for today other than washing my hair, watching the cricket (any other cricket fans on here??) and going to B&Q to look at some new doors. We may also go to PIL on Sunday, the only issue we have is they expect us to go at 5pm and we don't get home until 9pm and they only offer us some cake- with the BF I get really hungry and need to eat regularly. They don't seem to take any hints about food, but I have told DH that he needs to tell them if they want to see us for that long they need to provide something to eat (a sandwich will be fine) otherwise we will only stay an hour.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend x

Coolhand · 18/02/2012 10:34

Congrats Mopsy - v exciting!

My sympathies Mmmm and Oi and anyone else who had hard nights - it's so frustrating when you think they are making progress during the night and then randomly they seem to go backwards again! I've given up having any expectations and am just trying to go with the flow.

Hope you have a great night AWCH - I must be part of the getting old crew as the most appealing thing to me about a night in a hotel would be the uninterrupted sleep!

Have a great weekend Aethel.

Good luck Hawthers

I have appnt at the breast clinic on Monday which I'm getting a bit nervous about. Found a lump in my breast but thought little of it as boobs have changed so much in the last 11 months. DH begged me to get it checked out so I mentioned it last time I was at my GP. She checked and said she thought there was a large cyst and a small cyst in my left breast and 'lots of lumps' in my right breast. She freaked me out a little by asking if I had private medical health care and telling me she would be requesting a quick referral - at least it's only taken 2 weeks. However I'm only 32 and there is no history of breast cancer in our family so statistically all should be okay - I was also greatly relieved to discover my mum had found lumps in both breasts following the birth of my brother and they were harmless cysts. I was fine about it but now that it's coming up I'm a little nervous - I'm a bit of a wimp. Anyway, will plan to do random nice stuff over weekend to forget about it!

NorthernChinchilla · 18/02/2012 12:08

Congratulations to your sister mopsy!

Good luck with the visit aethel- we're visiting rellies in Devon in a few weeks and I'm wondering how we'll manage the sleeping there as well. Will be interested to see how you get on with that. Have fun being driven in the tank!

Really hope that Operation Fat Farley is working out hawthers, and I think everyone has their fingers crossed for you for Monday. Sending chunkster vibes your LO's way.

I'm joining you LMF and mmmm on the crap sleeping bit. I was entirely happy with the 2-3 hour blocks, but now we're getting one block of sleep to begin with, up to anywhere between 1.45 and 3.15am and then the rest of the night is spent awake/dozing/feeding as DS grunts, cries, thrashes, etc., partly whilst he's asleep.
And the smelliest haddock going to the bloody cold callers that called four times between 8am and 9.30am this morning.

Sorry stellieboo, footie household here, although it's a bit painful as DP is City and I'm United...

Blimey coolhand, you're doing very well to keep calm. You're absolutely right on the statistical likelihood is low, but that doesn't stop it being a worry. I hope you're able to enjoy the distractions.

We're doing a late Valentine's this evening, got Kir Royales and duck. Have bought DP some posh chocs seeing as I've eaten all of his. On the oldster front however, we're going to B&Q to buy a new toilet handle and toilet roll holder!

KateM77 · 18/02/2012 12:44

Good luck to both hawthers and coolhand for Monday

Congrats to mopsy

Stellie thanks for the reminder about spring - it's good to have something to look forward to!

aethel Hope you have a good weekend away. DD is 22 months. Thanks for the info about dairy intolerance, although I'm not sure that's what it is in this case. She was sick weds-fri last week, then sleepy sat, OK sun and mon other than lack of energy and just building up to normal food again, then diarrhoea on tues, sleepy weds, fine thurs and fine fri am, then she started refusing food from lunchtime onwards and vomited again at 4.30pm. So a rather long-winded way of saying she hadn't just eaten anything! More D&V this morning :(

DS was an angel yesterday and last night though - I got a 6 hour stretch of well-needed sleep

mopsytop · 18/02/2012 13:57

Hope everything goes ok on Monday hawthers and coolhand!!

Hope you are all having a good Saturday!

LittleMissFlustered · 18/02/2012 19:08

Note to self: downloading email to iPhone while feeding is fine. Just leave the sound muted as the twinkly noise makes small bits unlatch and wonder where the fairy's at >_

seven77 · 18/02/2012 22:18

Where is everyone? Hope you're all having good weekends!

AnAirOfHope · 18/02/2012 23:31

I have has two sips of very watered down whiskey and feel really guilty now Sad

mopsytop · 18/02/2012 23:43

Wouldn't feel guilty about that at all air! you coil easily have a proper measure and still be fine to bf. When I was still bf I often had a glass of wine.

Mmmmcheese · 19/02/2012 00:05

All was going well until he had an explosive digestive interlude, so he's having another boob to make up for having had his backside decontaminated.

SoTiredoftheWheelsontheBus · 19/02/2012 03:38

horrible night. so far have got about 30 mins sleep. as soon as i put ds back in moses basket, he is crying within 5 min. feel horrendous

LittleMissFlustered · 19/02/2012 03:58

SoTired Nights like that suck, hope everything calms down soon for you:( Brew

Mmmmcheese · 19/02/2012 04:05

Dummies ... Pft...hmpf

LittleMissFlustered · 19/02/2012 06:22

I've done that before today mmm I tend to sledge to the side a little and wake up incapable of moving my head until I've remembered how my neck muscles and vertebrae work >_

mopsytop · 19/02/2012 08:15

Minimopsy just sicked all over me and the floor, then did a massive poo. Yum!

aethelfleda · 19/02/2012 08:17

Hiya- was ok until the 1.45-2.50 feed (which took that long due to a four-course meal approach), and then he wouldn't settle in his moses basket. We're in a soft bed ie higher up than usual so didnt want to cosleep, but freding him sat on floor was draughty so I caved (and consequently light dozed only as couldnt turn off. That took us through to 7 when dds got up. Fortunately DH made tea and took DS for 20 mins for me- now he's feeding again. 6week growth spurt or (more likely)just normal.

Soon have to get self vaguely presentable as MIL is coming over...

LittleMissFlustered · 19/02/2012 08:23

The octopus is having his morning wriggleparppoop session. Smelly boy :)

aethelfleda · 19/02/2012 08:49

Niice lmf, hopefully you'll get a few poo-free hours after the explosion?

sotired, hope you got a little rest after your post, bon courage!

mopsy, do you remember The Mary Whitehouse Experience off the telly? Better out than in!

sequin, does your LO spit the dummy out? Dummies are one of those can't-make-mind-up things: was told to use one by HV but I don't want the fight to get them off it later and I don't like the way it reduces them "talking" to me. Have one in the cupboard just-in-case but not used it yet!

msbuggywinkle · 19/02/2012 08:52

Bleugh! I have woken up with a cold so I'm staying in my PJs today!

We suspect Miri may have problems with garlic in my diet, on Friday night I had a really garlicky curry and naan bread with garlic and she was soooo sick on Saturday morning and (tmi!) it stank of garlic. So, I'm having a few days without then will try again and see if it has the same effect. Hope it doesn't, I love garlic!

Hope everyone who had rubbish sleep has time to relax today.

hawthers I have everything crossed for you that it works!

EasilyBored · 19/02/2012 08:59

Sorry about the rough nights! Falling asleep upright is so painful!

Ah, morning farting sessions, good times!

I had a bit of an epiphany last night and havestarted moving squeaker over to bottles, I know breast milk is best for him, but he needs a sane mummy too. I'm starting with just his 7 pm feed and going to swap one feed at a time over the next month or so. Everyone has been telling me it's ok but it's taken me a while to accept that it's ok to stop just because I need to.

Hope everyone gets a bit more sleep tonight.

Right, off to tesco to get some yummy breakfast foods.
