Here you go! Sorry for crappy title. My one chance in the limelight and I can't think of anything good and I have to go and collect J from nursery right now...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kkfairybrains · 08/02/2012 23:41

Oh my god tsc what a frickin twat! Grin at dd wanting to do it in telly. What is he playing at?! God some people Angry
Thats brill that S is on the mend chulita. E is still bloody ratty with her cold. One thing after a bloody other with her lately!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 09/02/2012 08:14

I just don't like 'em cake Grin

CakeandRoses · 09/02/2012 10:28

grrrr mlic Grin do you look at cords-wearing boys and think 'yuk yukickty' then?

oh re clothes and mess - i loathe snot and food mess on children/their clothes but mud and shit (not actual shit, that would be gross) are pretty essential to a happy childhood, imo.

i never understand why parents get precious about that - it's not like you're not going to wash them, is it?

Grin at chul's shudder at the leggings. they can look awful, F would have looked comical in them but his friend looked great plus they're long-lasting, comfortable etc.

CakeandRoses · 09/02/2012 10:59

and i'm a fan of making the most of the baby-gro period. mine spent most of the first 3 months in them

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 09/02/2012 12:56

Mine spent ages in babygros too.

Chulita · 09/02/2012 15:12

viks my own pillow, of course, last time I started with 4 of theirs, went for a wee and came back to none Hmm not impressed.

I love cords, they look so cute. They've both grown out of their last pairs but I'll probably get some more. No one around here wears them but I care not, I love them :)

I do look at boys in tight 'skinnies' and think 'yukkity yuk', I really don't like males of any age in tight skinny trousers.

memphis83 · 09/02/2012 17:20

cakes L has a George the pirate pig bedroom inc bedspread, rug, cushion, wardrobe cover and curtains, in my defence I only wanted the curtains but a woman sold me the lot off of ebay for cheaper than the curtains and it was all new, we are changing the theme again next year I reckon though! (oh and he has slippers and wellies but they are for indoors as he doesnt like his wellies getting wet!)
tsc what an arse! I hope they make him pay! my dad only got made to pay £8.50 a week by them but my sisters ex got paid £55 a week for my nephew, he refused to admit he was his so hopefully they make him pay! has he never met Kate?
chulita needle is having a girl due about the 17th of feb.
L is still poorly, I thought eating last night was a sign he was better, dh has got day off tomorrow due to weather warnings here so family day it is.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 09/02/2012 17:25

I'm not sure if my puppydog has just had a little fit :(

She was coming from 'their' room into the kitchen and she just fell over, on to her side. Her front and back legs were all rigid, stretched out straight. I thought at first she had maybe got cramp and slipped but then I noticed she weed herself. I got her to stand up fairly quickly, just to make sure she could and she looks sorry for herself, yet fine now.

Poor puppy :(

Chulita · 09/02/2012 17:56

Sounds like she did mlisc, that's rubbish. We had a dog that started fitting, have you posted on the dog section of mn to see what people say? there are some right know-it-alls on here!

memphis a whole room of George pig? you're a lost cause I reckon and what's with L not wanting to get his wellies wet?! I love their little funny ways Grin

CakeandRoses · 09/02/2012 19:57

What a lovely day. Lounged in bed then walked to have a decleor facial, then cafe for lunch then had a mooch, chose my new glasses (yay!) Then dh cancelled his calls to leave early to meet me at home ;D.

Poor dog mlic def worth calling vet and/or asking on here.

memph it's going to take a while for me to get over you and george pig. I may even need therapy.

Didn't needle say she (or her dh?) really really wanted a boy this time? Always seems to be the way. Everyone I know who was desperate for a girl, had a boy.

Well I never knew cords were a 'thing' that only certain people, parts of the country wore! I thought they were pretty ubiquitous. Another reason I love this thread!

I bet dh's northern family think I dress our two v oddly what with all the cords, linen blazers and all the no slogan etc rules :D

This is why I spend a fortune on shopping... Just nipped to waitrose planning to get literally just a few bits and ended spending 66 quid. It wasn't even a 'proper shop' - there were a few basics like 3 soya milks, bread, 4 cans of tin toms, and a few bits of veg (fresh and some frozen like a pea and bean mix) and then some random stuff like chilled olives, stuffed vine leaves and some posh soup (which I can make but is handy to have in the larder). No alcohol and only household stuff was some eco laundry tablets.

And somehow I'll 'need' to do that again by sunday :-/

Chulita · 09/02/2012 20:04

DH was desperate for a boy this time (I quite wanted a boy again too but not as earnestly as DH) and unless we all got it epically wrong it should be a boy!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 09/02/2012 20:25

Erm (1) You shop in Waitrose. The most expensive supermarket that they haven't bothered opening up here (2) You buy things like chilled olives and stuffed vine leaves. There's a fiver right there. And it's not even a meal (I assume) it's a snack.

I did a quick shop in Morrisons this morning and spent more than I would have done in Asda.

memphis83 · 09/02/2012 20:46

mlic poor puppy, sounds like a fit :( she is quite young isnt she? I agree with chul about posting in the doghouse.
cakes im sorry, I think know if was to buy his room stuff now I wouldnt go for it but I was pregnant when I bought it yes, I have kept this secret of the george room for a while
And £66 for bits? I feel terrible I have done this 3 times in last fortnight and it hass been £20 a time! although stuffed vine leaves sound nice!
On subject of cords, cords are seen as posh boy trousers here, we live in a village where everyone but me wears barbour jackets, joules tops and hunter wellies (they loved our family when we rolled up with 3 staffies, then I left and arrived again with a boyfriend who drives a transit! you should see their faces when I say we work on markets!) all of dh's friends and family would think horrid things about cords, luckily my friends have style and taste and think he looks dapper and pretty cool! His family have a party on 2 weeks, I plan on scaring them with L's cords and a waistcoat with his converse! they will wonder wear his timmy time top and awful trousers are! oh no now I have said that he will insist on his wellies being footwear of choice!
chulita he has thermal warn waterproof boots to wear out in the wet/cold but the wet day we went to the seaside I had to pay £9 for these wellies or get his new £34 clarkes shoes ruined, the first pair we found were Thimas and I kept searching and came out with George ones, they arent even official merchandise some backstreet copy! robbing gits!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 09/02/2012 20:56

Grin at memph keeping her dark, dirty secret for over 19 months. I really want to theme E's room properly. It's a bit 'all over the place' atm.

Not really young memph, she's 6. So positively middle aged in dog years

Everyone round here has staffies or rotties. You'd have fit right in Wink

Chulita · 09/02/2012 21:06

Anyone want to pm me their mobile number so I can text as and when I have the baby? My mobile's an oldie one so no internet connection and I'll be in for a bit. I've got viksam's but she might be busy with her two.

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 09/02/2012 21:11

Me me meeeeeee!! I'll pm you now

Grin
WhatSheSaid · 09/02/2012 21:34

I've never seen stuffed vine leaves. What are they stuffed with?

viksam · 09/02/2012 21:41

I would never be to busy to spread the good news, I'm never the good news spreader :(
So cords are for the posh huh? I never would have put us in that catagory and D has had about three pairs so far, I love them, he also has some combat bottoms and in the summer he had some camoflage long shorts just like dh, it was ace when they both wore them and the same colour t-shirts! What's a bit annoying is that all D's clothes will be the wrong season for F, Bugger.
Poor doggy mylife, is it the one on tablets?
Cake, lovely day all around then :-) I'm going to have my hair cut on Saturday and hopefully my eyebrows waxed too, going to brum next weekend and want to give the vague impression that I'm coping!

CakeandRoses · 09/02/2012 23:18

Talks to the only person left talking to me: wss they're dolmades - stuff with rice seasoned with dill (I think), olive oil etc. And yes they are really a snack tho I do sometimes do a lebanese mezze which they go well with.

I know, I know mlic I'm not expecting sympathy. It's just waitrose is the closest (and nicest) supermarket to us so I can't help but be lured in. I don't think it's THAT much more expensive than the others (tho admittedly I don't have any of the cheap ones to compare it to), the danger more lies in the seductive experience and the tempting goodies (see chilled olives).

memph you dark georgelovin horse. I can not get over the web of piggy lies you've spun us for 19 months :)

Carnivores vs veggies. Cords vs joggers. Staffs vs staffs AND rotts. Asda vs waitrose.

It's like an episode of virtual wife swap on here at times, innit?

And vik will you purlease answer me re Happiest Baby before I post the damn thing to you sans address!

CakeandRoses · 09/02/2012 23:21

And YES chul with bells on it. Will pm you number when I can get back on broadband

CakeandRoses · 09/02/2012 23:25

And 'poshness' is all relative.... I'm more so than so-called poshspice and lequeen but less so than THE queen ;)

WhatSheSaid · 10/02/2012 00:00

Yes, poshness is relative, but I will say if anybody had dressed their kid in a linen jacket and straw boater where I grew up, it would have been akin to sticking a note on their back saying "Please beat me up" Grin

viksam · 10/02/2012 07:22

cake im sorry, thank you for the link, i havent read it but have heard about the 4th trimster theory, makes sense to me tbh. I was hoping to get it on my kindle but its not available and seen as though ive just got rid of loads of books i didnt want to start adding again so soon. I might buy it second hand though then i wouldnt feel so bad getting rid at some point. I was very interested to read that he condones the use of a swing and very curious about the 5 S's and how to use them, you have piqued my interest though and i will have have a read. How wast your night, hows A's sleeping? I take it you wouldnt do cio with any of your children, are you worried at all about building up sleep associations and sleep issues? I only ask because i think we have inadvertantly built up a sleep issue with D as over the last 6 weeks we have been very attentive to him if hes woken in the night and now hes waking and not ss. Its a nightmare, D and his sleep is going to finish us off im sure. F didnt wake for a feed untill 3.20(!) which was ace but then he didnt settle untill 4.50, at which point D had been awake and chatting/banging/shouting etc for 20 mins, dh had been in once but its the banging im unable to stand so i went in and we had a cuddle and i took him some milk, he did settle then and i went into to dh and we had relations for the first time since birth! then i had precisley 40mins sleep before F was up again, the little swine bag as D is still asleep now..............tut!!!!!!!

Chulita · 10/02/2012 08:01

Aw viks I'll text you too Grin The sleep thing will get better, I promise, eventually. If us two sleepaholics made it, so can you! Chatted to one of my friends after I'd had L and she'd had her 2nd - she mentioned feeling like she was just treading water, and yea, I've often thought that, just about managing to keep your head above water but not able to do much else!

cake I agree re waitrose, if you stick to their basic ranges they're not badly priced at all but all the extra delicious things you can't get in other supermarkets definitely lure you into spending more. DH is a shocker for going in for a loaf of bread and coming out having spent £50 on 'treats'.
