Hi all,
Not been around much as am just getting over horrific tummy upset. Went for meal with dh and three other couples and spent the last hour of the night in the toilet with a bad tummy! It was so embarrassing! It was so painful and I've not felt so I'll for a long time. On the positive side it has given me a kick start to my diet!

Good to hear from you Choc, hope R is better soon. You've had a bad run of illness lately haven't you?

Four4, poor Archie, and poor you with spotty children! I agree with the school run thing too.

Glad your interview went well Delia. Good luck with your interviews this week too.

Off to bed now as still tired from being poorly, hi to everyone I haven't replied to. I've added a few photos of my babies.

reastie · 04/02/2012 21:31

delia glad the interview went OK Grin

ponyo what sort of rice did you use? When I make rice pudding I use pudding rice and I bake it in the oven for a few hours. I know you can use flaked rice on the hob for a quick rice pudding. Was it that you had the wrong sort of rice to make rice pud? If not, maybe you just had the hob on too high Grin [unhelpful] . Maybe deb has some words of wisdom to add Hmm

Hope R improves soon, poor little baby (and mummy) Sad . We picked up a smart trike today Grin

oh ems how nasty. Was it something you ate? Hope you can sleep it off

blizy · 04/02/2012 21:50

Hu all a quick one waiting on Dh coming back from the bar, enjoying some cocktail and a wee dance! Super excited about meeting wiggles in the morning!Grin

Chocco- hope you and r are ok?

Ponyo- Grin at anya raving again!

debka · 04/02/2012 22:14

Quickety quick before I go to bed but thought you all ought to know that I did NOT run tonight, I ate a big bag of choc buttons, one of galaxy button jobs AND one of jelly babies.

Going to sleep it off now.

Will respond properly tomorrow when my sugar high/low has elapsed!!

ledkr · 05/02/2012 08:19

deb spectacular fall from wagon Grin
ponyo for the love of god woman what are you thinking of? Buy rice pudding, its so cheap. Dills wont eat it either, she's not keen on deserts apart from yogs and froms.
Dills has been awake since 6,dh had work sonot much of a weekend here.
I am sat on the sofa in pjs whilst dilly plays with her toys between clambering on me and touching things she isnt allowed and smearing biscuit everywhere,im going to watch something ive sky plussed in a bit.Is this what you lot do when up early?Im not sure if i should be doing more productive stuff.
Also has anyone succumed to evil follow on formula.I started Dills on real milk but i find it a right hassle having to always make sure i have full fat milk in large quantities. Also was concerned re the vit d/rickets scare so bought some formula.I find it easier to take out (esp in summer) and easier to store and make up.
Am dreding Ella getting up and demanding a trip out in the snow,i must be officially old cos i just cant face it.

debka · 05/02/2012 08:51

God led I feel rough as a badger's arse this morning. Think I have a sweetie hangover Confused. I bloody stink, no more sweets for me

ponyo lower heat, more stirring, full fat milk. Or buy it.

ledkr we always have fat milk here. My girls play out loads and I'm rubbish with sun cream so I don't worry about rickets. Not keen on supplements tbh, seems an excuse not to eat properly. Send Ella round here, she can play out in the snow with Imy.

choc you poor thing, that's rubbish. Hopefully it means R is building up her immunity and will never ever get ill when she's older

Chicken pox 44me? I'd take him in his pushchair, don't really get why it's an issue

emski Blush hope you're better now.

delia glad you have good vibes about the interview, will have my fingers crossed for the other ones too.

blizy, wiggles, hope you're having a lovely time :)

ledkr · 05/02/2012 10:21

deb cos your body is now a temple and you cant handle the junk food anymore. Innit? Btw your language is fast turning into that of a fishwife Grin

44me meant to say,of course take him in the pushchair, they inccubate infectious disease long before the spots so he'd have been infectious last week. Also can i recommend some piriton or similar for the itching.
My claim to fame is that i had the pox twice.Once as a child and again at about 14.
choc I am on my 4th cold this year and Dilly had a sickness bug too last week.I never used to get ill so can only assume there are lots of new bugs about.
Dills is resisting sleep today.Have got her off twice now but she wakes up. Shge is currently strapped in the buggy watching kids songs on the tube of you Grin

blizy · 05/02/2012 10:24

Grin at deb's sweetie hangover!

Hope you are all enjoying the white stuff, we have none. Grin
I'm not meeting weiggs until 11am, so just chilling out in the room whilst Dh gets stuck into his paperwork.

44me- poor Archie with the pox. I would just pop them in the buggy for the school run too.

Four4me · 05/02/2012 11:15

Hi oh just looked and it is 11am they'll be meeting now!!! Can't wait to hear about it wiggles/blizy

Poor you deb sweetie hangovers are horrid. Nevermind today is a new day, back on with the wanker jacket and off you go!!!

Hope R is better today choc rubbish when they are poorly, bad night here last night.

Also hoping emski is feeling better today.

Well poor Archie was so unsettled in the night, he is normally a good sleeper so very out of character. He was up at 6 am had some calpol and a good feed and then at 8.30 he vomited all over me, yuck. He is so listless and weak. I'm sure he has some spots in his mouth as he is sort of chomping/gurning on an empty mouth as if it is swollen. ledkr will give him some piriton, had to give J some when he had them, love the stuff. Although the spots don't seem to be itching him at the moment. Just totally whacking him out. Feel so sorry for him, he is such a pleasant little soul normally and is so sorry for himself and sad..... Anyway am woffling now. Have a good day in the snow!!!

Deliaskis · 05/02/2012 11:35

Oh Four poor Archie. Feel so sorry for poorly babies, they just don't know what's going on do they. Hopefully maybe today will be the worst day and he'll start feeling a bit better soon.

blizy & wiggles enjoy meeting up!

We have plenty of snow here, but it's warmer today so I don't think it will last long.

I'm going to start C on cow's milk plus formula mixed today, and will gradually increase to all cow's milk over the next week or so. Hadn't really thought about follow on milk Ledkr , will have to make sure C gets plenty of outside time (maybe not today tho!).

Have a nice Sunday all.

Dx

Deliaskis · 05/02/2012 11:52

OK, I have an outfit conundrum that you ladies might be able to help with. I'm going to a presentation, at which my sister is receiving an aware. It's early evening, with a reception, finishing at 8.30pm. Men are asked to wear lounge suits, but women, as ever, are left angonising about appropriate dress. It is a formal thing, with a VVVVVVIP, and it's one of those ones where you're not supposed to say you are going, or that the VIP is going. It's mid March.

So I'm looking, I think, for that elusive middle ground between business suit and wedding guest, you know, a bit more feminine than business suit, but not necessarily wedding guest style (plus it will be March in London, and I have to travel down by train, so probably need moderately practical footwear, I mean not hideous practical, but not ridiculous).

Any ideas???????? Help me, I'm useless at this kind of thing!

Dx

ledkr · 05/02/2012 13:29

D-Nice day dress with black opaques and nice boots, maybe with a wedge for walking comfotably and a jacket. Try Jon Lewis online they do free returns so can order a few to try.

debka · 05/02/2012 13:38

delia no suggestions from me, sorry, I'm not exactly up on fashion (see previous post about my running clothes) Grin HOWEVER since this is anonymous, can you give us an inkling of your sis's award and who the vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvip is?

Deliaskis · 05/02/2012 14:18

Ledkr that is exactly the sort of look I was hoping to aim for, but am worried I might aim and miss.

Deb I'm not really supposed to say [looks around], but the award is for services to....ermmmm...the place she works, which is a royal college of something. The VIP guests presenting the awards is errmmm...well he has what you might call more than a passing interest in anything with royal in the title, recently gained a new & v attractive & popular DIL, does a nice line in posh biscuits, owns half of Cornwall.

debka · 05/02/2012 14:29

OOO OOO OOO your clever sister and lucky old you!! Tres exciting! LOLed at your description of Him We Must Not Name Grin

blizy · 05/02/2012 15:13

Hi girls, I'm pleased to say the met up went great. Wiggles- is not a hairy trucker Grin. Seriously though, she is fab and the girls are so gorgeous, as is Mr WWink. We had a good old gab over a coffee.
I'm on the boat heading home, not looking forward to the drive after, let's hope I get home without any drama.

Delia- I would go with ledkrs advice. Huge well done to your sister!

Hope you all had a nice weekendSmile

ledkr · 05/02/2012 15:48

blizy glad you are ok and that wiggs is clearly a real person and not a mad axe murderer Grin

delias Let me know your size shape and what colours you want to go for and me and Ella will have a look. How much do you want to pay.Ella is seriously clued up re fashion, she draws her own designs. We bought her a sewing machine cos i really think shes got a gift. I wear that type of thing a lot,its comfy and forgiving.

reastie · 05/02/2012 18:39

blizy glad you had a good time Grin

delia ohhhhh, get you hobnobbing with the elite Wink . I'd go for ledkrs advice too as I'm useless with fashion. I think I nice dress you could wear again just snazzed up with accessories could look lovely and smart. I may unwittingly shop in a middle aged ladies shop, but Phase Eight have lovely things usually not that I can go there anymore as I'm so huge . I'll have a look online but quite frankly I wouldn't trust my taste Grin . Btw could you change when you get to London and leave your bag with left luggage at a london train station? I did that once at Waterloo. The you could have inappropriate but beautiful shoes Grin

I've found one good thing about being at work - MIL hasn't thought up an excuse to pressurised for week end visits since I've been back - we've had 3 PIL free week ends. I found out today PIL are paying to take BIL and his dds on holiday at easter. SIL isn't going of course [sensible] . I told DH I will not be going on holiday with the ILs in future - I think MIL had mentioned this to DH on the phone Shock

Well, more school work today, still hoping by some fluke school will be closed due to snow for inspection but looks v unlikely Hmm

reastie · 05/02/2012 18:48

delia have a nose here

All very nice dresses with leggings and boots and warm and cosy too. I may get the ditsy one its so nice, for the races.

ledkr · 05/02/2012 19:29

sorry meant to say.Damn you reastie i just bought this, its amazing Shock

Deliaskis · 05/02/2012 19:42

Oooh thanks for ideas, I'm starting to feel a bit more inspired now. I'm a size 18, but am nearly 6ft, so although I am overweight, I'm not massively fat out of proportion. Definitely curvy with boobs.

I like some of those Phase 8 ones, I have bought wedding outfits from there in the past. Cost wise, I suppose I'm a bit eeek at the thought of being made redundant at the moment, so would be looking at cheeeeeeap, but actually if I wait a week or two, I might have a job and then could shop to celebrate! I don't have any knee high boots but have wanted some for ages so again if I get a new job, this plus v important event would be a good reason to get some.

Hadn't thought about changing outfit/shoes when I got there, but I suppose it's possible. It's not out of the question that I could just change at my sister's very secret place of work.

OK, am thinking dress will be the way to go, but only if I can afford boots too...

D

wigglesrock · 05/02/2012 20:04

Evening all, well blizy beat me to it, forgot she had a fancy dan internet phone Grin, we had a lovely morning, blizy is indeed as lovely, funny and sweet as you all imagine and her dh is just as lovely. Ps Zoe is the absolute double of her Daddy Grin

blizy hope you got back ok and had no major car drama. See you soon xx

Four4Me poor Archie (poorer you Grin) I wouldn't have an issue bundling him and Imogen up for the school run.

ledkr I had Anna on follow on from 6 months, but she's been on cows milk for a bit now.

chocoroo nice to see you.

deliaskis ooooh hark at you Grin, very well done to your sis.

Right off to catch up, then watch the divine Ryan Gosling in Drive, I liked him before anyone else Grin and for once I don't find him in the least bit attractive, I just appreciate his talent Shock

tadjennyp Happy Birthday to Sammy

blizy · 05/02/2012 20:58

Ohh tad- hope S had a good birthday.

Wiggles- made it home in one piece without getting lost.Grin Although the boat was grim and my face was this colour Envy Grin.

Night all, I'm having an early one yawn, yawn.
