Hi all,
Fabby Xmas here! Noah seems to have recovered from hs sickness bug, hooray! Ben had been fantastic. I've managed to put most of the many, many, many toys away, am buying Ben a toy box tomorrow, half price at Argos.
Treated dh to an X Box for Xmas, and am addicted already. Gets me off my fat arse on an evening. Ben played on it with my nephew today and loved it, do its a hit all round!
Robin, I know what you mean about all the teeny parts of toys. Ben has a few Playmobil bits, I'm impressed with the detail of the toys but bloody hell the parts are tiny, hence the new toy box.
Choc, rubbish that you've been so poorly, glad R kept you going tho.
Reastie, we had my pil over yesterday. They really are so kind but mil is so controlling and just takes Noah away from me, saying to let me get on with things. She's trying to help but oh so annoying! And whenever he gripes she thinks he needs snap, she kept saying it yesterday, on the end I ignored her and he ended up having a nap an hour later. Not all crying means he's tired, sometimes he's hungry, bored or wants to be left alone!!

Relaxing now, watching Xmas tv and trying not to eat all the naughty food in the house!

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 26/12/2011 21:58

Re: presents, am I the only one who wants to chuck out donate to charity the bigger cuddly toys DD got for christmas? DH and I are thinking she'll get more and more and more as she gets older and will never notice if a few go astray - they just take up so much space and these ones arn't that pretty - AIBU?

robin I can give a kitchen update that infact all DH did was the dishwasher - sadly the rest was left to me as usual Angry

ems I'm with you on PIL - I've discovered alice does alot of tired looking finger sucking after a while with pil which isn't tired always it's often just 'I've had enough with you playing with me I just want some quiet time' . I'm feeling really down about PIL visit still Hmm

RobinSparkles · 26/12/2011 22:50

Emski - yeah! Why, if a baby starts crying, does everyone always say, "ah, they're tired"? Makes you feel like saying, "yeah, tired of you!"

Reastie DD2 doesn't seem to have too many cuddly toys but DD1 has LOADS, although she plays with them more than she plays with anything else so it would be mean of me to throw them. I'm sure Alice won't care though Xmas Wink.

Emski76 · 27/12/2011 07:47

Cuddly toys, yes,Ben had loads. Think lessons have been learned as Noah has had zero!

Robin, wish I could say that to in laws! Even dh did it yesterday morning with Noah. He then had a nap an hour and a half later! Why won't people listen to the mummies, you'd think we knew our babies best!

Lying in bed at the moment leaving dh to cope with the boys.best get up soon!

Hope y'all are ok x

americanexpat · 27/12/2011 14:34

I'm starting to think we neglected L a bit this Christmas. He had 2 toys to open, a couple of bits in his stocking and a religious book from the playgroup we attend at a church (we're atheist, will probably go in the charity shop bag). We got him a band in a box - DH taught him how to use the cymbals last night and L looked so pleased with himself. Grin

RobinSparkles - I'm having the same problem, just stuffing my face with chocolate and biscuits. I tried to be good yesterday but got into the sweets around 6. Blush

blizy - I was thinking about you and Zoe on Christmas. What a lovely gift in memory of Zoe. How are you feeling?

debka · 27/12/2011 18:52

Girls hold my hand, it's weigh in tonight, anyone fancy a sweepstake on how much I've GAINED??? So long as it's no more than 1/2 a stone I'll be happy. Seriously, I have gorged my fat ginormous little face this week. Cheese, chocolates, pringles, you name it, I've eaten it!

Back later with the shameful news....

ILovePonyo · 27/12/2011 20:15

Hi all, well I'm a bit drunky after starting on the wine at 5 Shock

deb good luck for the weigh in, can I just say that having absolutely NO sense of taste or smell has meant that I have eaten hardly anything for the past few days, I'm sure I have lost weight but have a mountain of xmas chocs to take home and scoff So I would recomment getting blocked up sinuses for weight loss Hmm I bet you havn't put on as much as you think you have.

american A had a fair bit but a lot of it was clothes and we only got her one present Shock so know what you mean. Grin at religious book when you are atheists (us too).

reastie hope the bloody boiler is fixed now?!

Am off to drink more wine and watch the rest of Marley and me, I've never seen it beofre but didn't realise how realistic it is - all the babies crying and couples arguing Grin I know what happens at the end though...

debka · 27/12/2011 20:36

So I gained..... ....3.5lb. Not too bad I think, and defo loseable by next week. Phew!

Poor you for poorliness ponyo I think I'd eat through the pain though Grin

reastie sorry about the grimsville Pils. My coping strategy with mine is to not actually care about them at all. I'm polite (ish) but I just let their weirdness/rudeness roll straight over me. I am detached. They probably think I'm an utter cow but I just don't care. Re annoying toy- give it to them to live at their house so she can play with it when she comes to visit! I did that with our awful annoying free Hasbro toy, it's at my dad's now. YANBU to donate some toys, maybe see if there's a charity which distributes them to needy children.

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 27/12/2011 21:51

deb 3.5 lbs is nothing Grin unless it's a loss and obv then it's alot Hmm . I've been eating too much Blush . I usually don't eat chocolate at all but it keeps calling me Confused . I've just ordered in a shed load of veg to arrive with sainsbos tomorrow so will try inching myself towards starting slimming world again. Re: most annoying toy ever it's going to reside in Alice's bedroom - she doesn't play with her toys in there so much and I will turn it off permanently Wink

ponyo I hate it when you can't smell or taste anything Sad

Still no heating - I've actually been shivering tonight Shock [light weight] . I hope Alice is OK and not too cold - we've given her an extra layer and left the heated clothes airer on in her room to take the edge off but after watching eastenders and all their fires I keep worrying it will somehow set alight Shock . We've got someone coming to fix it on friday. It seems every person we ring is on holiday and just a random answer machine which they don't respond to - don't they realise people will still have broken boilers Angry

Am limbering up for a DIY day tomorrow - painting the family room and also some of Alice's bedroom furniture Grin

RobinSparkles · 27/12/2011 23:20

Hiya

Debka 3.5 pounds isn't so bad, I'm sure that you'll lose it by next week! Xmas Smile

Ponyo sorry that you're ill.

Reastie still no heating? Oh no!

I have a poorly girl on my hands tonight! DD1 has been vomiting and been complaining of a headache and sore arm. She also has a temp Sad she's currently snuggled up on the sofa watching Finding Nemo. I do worry when she's ill.

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 28/12/2011 11:57

deb keep forgetting to ask how Imy is?

OP posts:
debka · 28/12/2011 13:00

reastie thanks :) Took her to GP again today cos she is STILL ill- he told me the other doc prescribed her the anti-b's (which she didn't take) a MONTH ago, which means she's been ill for about 2 months Shock. He gave her more a-bs which she's taken, plus eye drops. I know how she feels, TBH, I've been ill for at least as long as she has and feel pretty sh!t most of the time. Should really have made an appt for me too, but you never think of yourself, do you?

robin hope DD1 is better today, agree it's miserable when they're ill.

Hope everyone else is well and happy. x

RobinSparkles · 28/12/2011 16:30

Wow, it's quiet round these parts recently! Where IS everyone?

Deb poor Immy! Hope she (and you) gets better soon!

DD1 seems better today, although she's milking it for all it's worth! Xmas Grin She's watching the Smurfs DVD and she's had a proper duvet day today!

blizy · 28/12/2011 17:20

debka Poor Imy Sad, I hope you both feel better soon.

reastie Thank you! You know what for xxxxx

wigglesrock · 28/12/2011 20:13

debka and robinsparkles hope both your dd1s are on the mend soon and debka get thee to a Dr - seriously, no point pissing about with your health -I had a low level grade infection hanging about for ages and I was miserable.

We have had a lovely few days, Mr W is back to work tomorrow so am itching to take the tree down and get house back to its non sparkly status Blush I also have to find homes for all Santa presents!!!

I took Sofia to the theatre today, my cousin works for one and had got us tickets for a show. It was very sophisticated, am afraid we were a bit out of place with our fruit pastilles and fruit shoots water! It was very hufty tufty, the sets and lighting was gorgeous - the production was up its own hole slightly pretentious but Sofia absolutely loved it, she was transfixed. Not sure she'll be satisfied with the Tiger who Comes to Tea on stage any more Grin Apparently the star was in one of those find a new Joseph/ woman from Oliver etc. She was fantastic but an absolute cow in real life [taps finger on nose knowingly] Grin

blizy much love today xx

ILovePonyo · 28/12/2011 21:52

Hi all, I have been to the docs and have anti-biotics so I'd better start feeling better soon! Hopefully I'll stop whinging on about it then Grin

deb thats not much weight wise is it? Hope poor old Imy-kins gets better soon.

reastie FRIDAY for the boiler?! Shock I;d be such a grump, I hate being cold, and our house is a cold one. I know what you mean about the toys, I think IABU when I say most of the tat I want to chuck out donate has come from PIL Grin Who was the fb friend we had in common btw?

Robin glad your dd is on the mend, duvet days are nice but not when you're worrying about poorly little ones! Hope she's much better now.

wiggles theatre sounds soooo nice, I can't guess who the star was but prob wouldn't know her anyway Wink

We came home from my mums today, I miss her already! I think A does too. When we drove away dp said that my mum looked a bit sad, I think she was (me too), I have found myself wishing I lived nearer more and more since A has turned up! She was a grump earlier, well very tired, so went to bed early, we'll see how that works put in the morning.

Anyway night all, hope all the babies are well and thinking of you too blizy xx

40Weeks · 29/12/2011 15:01

Hello everyone

I have been AWOL for so long I haven't even tried to catch up proper but just wanted to pop in and say hi to you all and hope you all had a great Christmas and to wish you all a great 2012. I do think of you all often but just haven't had time to keep up properly every day and then find it so hard to catch up. I hope everyone is well, (apart from Imy I see, poor darling) and that Christmas was ok for you jane I know it must have been hard. I did give Mikey an extra squeeze on Christmas day and think of Zoe often.

We had a lovely Christmas and dh is still off til next week so have been enjoying letting him cook. He does it so well, seems a shame to try and stop him Wink

I have to go to slimming world tonight and do the Weigh of Shame, Deb if I am only 3.5lb. I will count myself lucky!!! Have been an outrageous pig. The Baileys didn't even last til Christmas day!!

Anyway, Mikey has just woken up and is mithering so had best and see to him. Will try and post more regularly and keep up with you all - any babies walking yet??? Mikey is pulling up and cruising but a long way off letting go!!

Lots of love xxx

debka · 29/12/2011 17:19

40weeks lolling here at Weigh Of Shame, bet you've not done as bad as you think.

Been at my dad's all day, off to a party later (get me!), best feed the kids now, be back later I hope x

Emski76 · 29/12/2011 17:40

Hi all
Spent yesterday with mum and boys at Cribbs Causeway Mall, bought some
lovely half price dresses in Monsoon and Fat Face.
Been at mil's today with dh's family. So been too busy to post.

Just had a lovely roast for tea, now relaxing before going to fellow Rainbow Leaders house to do end of year accounts, would much rather be sat on my sofa watching tv and eating!

Dh cousins baby had a major tantrum at in laws today, lasted about half hour. He's only eleven months old, isn't that early to be having tantrums! Tho Ben went thru a tantrum phase at around a year old. Bit scary tho!

Deb, your weight gain is tiny! I must have gained at least 5 pounds! Keep telling myself the diet starts tomorrow but seem to fall off the wagon by 9am!

Good to hear from you 40 weeks, glad all ok. Noah is cruising but nowhere near walking.

Ponyo, hope you feel better soon.

Watching Gruffalos Child with the boys, amazing, have seen is 5 times since Xmas Day!

wigglesrock · 29/12/2011 19:49

Hi 40Weeks Grin, lovely to hear from you.

Emski Anna has been known to throw the odd tantrum Blush, she lies down on the floor and flails about - seriously I've never seen anything like it! We've watched Gruffalos Child a lot too, but not as much as the CBeebies Strictly Cinderella Panto Grin

Anna has taken a few steps - two and a half to be precise [precious third born ] She lets go and rounds the corner of the sofa hands free but then holds on.

Oh and Anna is also off the formula and on full fat milk.

I've posted a few Christmas photos, well to be honest more than a few Blush but hey hum you know me!

debka · 29/12/2011 20:01

wiggles!!! The first steps!! Did you cry? Wink Gorgeous photos, what happy girls. Is that Mr W in the background on photo #2?

wigglesrock · 29/12/2011 20:20

debka I did have a bit of something stuck in my eye Grin and then my sister announced that she had taken a few steps on Christmas Eve when I was at work Shock but she thought I knew!

I took A of the formula because she wasn't showing any interest in food at all, she just didn't want to eat (I do wonder whose child she is sometimes Grin) Its made a real difference to her, she ate breakfast this morning - a first instead of firing it at the floor! Although she still wakes up at night the frequency of wakings has really reduced. Maybe its just coincidence but she seems a lot more settled.

Anna loves her walker, she has now progressed to hurtling it at the Christmas tree and laughing. Yes that's Mr Ws tummy in the backgroud Grin.

Mmm chocolate antibiotic - think you need to patent that idea Grin

40Weeks · 29/12/2011 20:22

Emski the dress shopping sounds lush!! Also a fan of gruffalos child, mikey got the book and audio cd from santa, would you believe. What great photos wiggles your girls are gorgeous. deb that's hilarious about the medicine, you are very inventive! Anyways I came on to tell you I gained 6.5lb!!! Can you believe that? 2 weeks and when I think of how long it took to come off. I am away now t chuck out the Christmas cake and leftover mince pies and see if I can sue Monsieur Ferrero Roche [wordscannotdescribeemoticon]

americanexpat · 30/12/2011 00:13

Emski - I scoped out the Monsoon sale as well, picked out a few lovely things then L kicked off in the queue for the fitting rooms. Angry It seemed that half the store was marked down!

wiggles - aww, hooray for A! L seems close, he'll stand on his own for a while. Interesting about the formula. L has been absolutely awful at night. Since DH has been off work for Christmas, he's giving L a lot more bottles instead of a proper meal and I'm wondering if they're connected. Does A take a bottle at all or only a cup? I'm getting desperate, I was up a fecking hour and a half the other night trying to get him to sleep and I can't be doing this on a regular basis when I'm having to work. He seems to have gotten picky about his food too, maybe because he's having so much more milk? Those are some really adorable children you've got too. Grin

I'm friending some of you on Facebook, think I've found reastie blizy and 44me. My profile photo is L and me.

wigglesrock · 30/12/2011 08:37

americanexpat over the past 6 weeks or so Annas consumption of bottles had jumped and she had really stopped showing an interest in food apart from anything crisp related! I was really busy with work and Sofias and Olivias associated Christmas social life Grin so I thought I'd wait until I had time off to try and tackle it.

She has the milk in bottles, she has a cup for water which she loves but wasn't very keen the time I put milk in it so I didn't want to put her off the cup by insisting.

This is the 3rd morning in a row that she has wolfed her porridge down, I know that doesn't sound that big a deal but I couldn't get her to touch it before.

40Weeks I have survived on a diet of cheese and pickles, chocolate and pate the past 2 weeks, I'm afraid to go near the scales and I smell pretty rank too Grin
