OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
wigglesrock · 01/02/2012 20:33

blizy got it Grin, yeah but my freezer is lovely and organised, will be perfect as soon as I restock the ice-lollies and cheapo ready made frozen meals Grin

debka · 01/02/2012 20:35

wiggs Envy of the freezer, I have to bash mine with a rolling pin about once a week to get rid of the ice so the door will close! Did this last night, then went off to do something else, leaving the ice on the floor , came back and the girls were eating the ice off the floor. Good job I scrub my floors every day (HA!! AS IF!!)

blizy · 01/02/2012 20:39

debka Grin Grin.

wiggles you mean it's not full of super nutricious home cooked leftovers?

wigglesrock · 01/02/2012 20:57

blizy I don't know - depends what my Mum's been cooking Grin

debka the drawer not actually closing was the driving force behind the defreeze!

ledkr · 01/02/2012 21:07

Oh we are teting now are we? oooooooo! Look at the go offs Grin
ponyo poor baby,i hope she is ok.
deb I didnt do any exercise but i have been walking loads. Had a nice tea of fish and chips all healthy style of course.
Ella spent her xmas money on a tablet and she is so chuffed.I must admit im well jel of it and smile thru gritted teeth when she shows me the functions. Was going to have alittle go myself but she took it up to bed with her grrrr.

ILovePonyo · 01/02/2012 21:24

Fanks for nice words about A everyone. So far some little sad noises in her sleep all scrunched up at the bottom of her cot but asleep still...

ledkr ooh I'm jel of Ella's tablet too! maybe you could do a 'no tablet in bed' rule for her Grin

Grin also at deb and wigs clean floors and freezers, my fancy freezer defrosts itself for which I'm v grateful (how interesting Hmm)

blizy tbh I can't believe it's been a year either, do you know what you and dh will be doing for Z's birthday yet, or what we can do for her? I'm not a church goer so have never lit a candle for her but would really like to do something, hope that's ok. Meant to say (and I might have said this before Blush) but when I was ttc I got pg the month after I had a mc, no period in between. Think the pressure was off for me as I def didn't expect that, and everyone says it'll happen when you're not thinking about it which is soooo annoying but bloody true Anyway I'll stop waffling, am thinking of you that's all Smile

reastie · 01/02/2012 21:42

My Mum borrowed my hairdryer to defrost her freezer today Hmm

ledkr Envy of ella

ponyo hope you sleep tongight (as well as a obv)

blizy tbh I think pnd is a bit better Hmm since work - too busy to feel sorry for myself Grin but the stress of work is defo bad and I'm not sleeping at all well on work days as my mind is too busy. I think the time away from alice to be my own person is doing me good tbh Blush

Btw blizy I can't imagine what you're going through, at all. It must feel like this year has dashed past yet stood still in ways too. I'm believing deb is right and this will be your year.

I went to center parcs once Grin it was the week end of princess di's funeral and of the 3 days we had there we spent one day in front of the tv watching the funeral with my mum sobbing into her hankies Hmm

tadjennyp · 02/02/2012 02:04

Also Envy of Ella's tablet and a week away at Longleat!
Sorry about your job delia but best of luck with all the interviews.
Hope A is better soon Ponyo.

Just lost loads of my post but basically the house is full of sickness and dh even took the day off work which is unheard of. The room is still spinning though - it's like having a hangover without the fun of the night before. Confused

I hope you keep talking to your dh reastie, you really need him to back you up if you are going to give up work. The cooking party idea sounds great though. Could you do Jamie at Home as well? Don't they do cooking demos too? Was just a thought.

[hugs] blizy.

Would like some of wiggles 'zenness' over here at the moment. Not coping too well with E's whininess and S' 5am waking. I know they're both ill, but I definitely need a bit more patience.

Well done on all the weight loss everyone!

Really not with it, so apologies for missing anyone out.

blizy · 02/02/2012 07:06

Oh no tad- hope you all feel better soon, sounds horrible.

blizy · 02/02/2012 07:26

Posted too soon.

Wiggles- Dh is changing hotels he says the days inn is the Aldi of hotelsGrin. I'll let you know where his lordship books.

Blush I had a dirty dream about one of my mindees dad, guess who just dropped baby off this morning ? His dad, I couldn't look him in the faceBlush

reastie · 02/02/2012 12:31

Morning,

I did a deb today and got my first proper bra since pre preg - it's got underwires and everything and my boobs don't pull along behind me dragging on the floor like they used to Grin . I actually think even my back feels better now I've got some proper scaffolding too

Anyway, wanted to ask a quick question - I'm product testing nappies this week and have just had a delivery of nearly 100 free nappies Grin Grin . Looks like I'm comparing pampers, huggies and some own brand one which has leaf pattern on the nappy and bugs/butterfly/snail picture on the top band - just wondering if anyone knows which own brand nappy I'm testing as I'm nosy and curious ??

blizy Grin to the aldi hotel comment. One of the teachers at the school i work at once compared it to the aldi of private schools Shock Wink . How are the mindees today?

tad feel really Sad for all the sickness in your house - poor everyone. Hope you all improve quickly and get lots of sleep.

blizy · 02/02/2012 12:58

Reastie- enjoy the new nappies! I have no idea what brand it is? Baby mindee is asleep and the others are still in school.
Envy of you new fancy pants braGrin

debka · 02/02/2012 13:14

Sainsbury's reastie- we use them! Congrats on new bra, bet you and DH can't stop squeezing them! Grin Wink

americanexpat · 02/02/2012 14:43

Well done on the new bra, reastie! It's amazing, isn't it? L decided to stop feeding 2 days after I bought my new bra so now it's too big. Angry Not big enough for me to stop wearing it though. Blush I'm also quite Envy of the nappy testing. Is this a MN thing?

blizy - Grin Poor dad probably thought he had something in his teeth. I had a similar dream about a work colleague (not the disciplinarian) once and it's so embarrassing to face them, though they know nothing about the dream.

Ponyo - how was your night? Hope A was in good form.

tad - hope you all are feeling better soon.

Who's the next Feb baby with a birthday? Can't believe L will be 1 in less than 2 weeks. Shock

ILovePonyo · 02/02/2012 17:30

Hi people, well last night wasn't too bad really, A was awake a few times then gave her bottle at 5 and brought her in with us and she went back to sleep til 7.45! She's hardly slept today but doesn't seem poorly, phew.

New bra reastie, exciting! I don't think I could cope without underwire and my bosoms aren't even that big Grin

Blizy love the "Aldi hotel" Grin ooh maybe you'll stay somewhere dead fancy Wink

I started writing this half an hour ago and have forgotten what I was going to say, bloody distracting baby Hmm

Oh where is Choco? Not heard from her for aaages

ledkr · 02/02/2012 18:35

Alriiiiight! I am soooo pre menstral with no wine a wingey baby and annoying dd. I am literally on pre erupt, does anyone else get this?? I am debating going to the pub with the paper untill they are in bed. (dh is here)
I was wondering about Chocco.she doesnt need us now with all her new work friends.
Been having a bit of a spat on the parenting boards.A 9 yr old who reads half the night which is greatly affecting his health and schooling. He defys his parents and sneaks about in order to read. They were all saying how lovely it is to be a book lover and i suggested he does as he is fecking told as
and goes to sleep as his parents have told him to.Cue a minor flaming about books and reading being fab and sholuldnt be discouraged.Wtf??? they are so pompous on here sometimes.I asked if it would be ok if he was up all night on the xbox??
I am meeting a lovely mumsnetter for a few bevs tomorrow.

Grin at the Aldi of hotels. We stayed in a terrible hotel in Essex once it had outside walls on the inside an angled toilet Hmm so you sat on the loo looking into a corner, the food was terrible and the only thing nearby was a drive thru Mcds so me and dh walked thru it in hysterics.Went to the speaker then subsequent windows as if we were in a car.

blizy · 02/02/2012 18:42

Ponyo- we will prob upgrade to a premier inn, his work is paying donut won't be a fancy one Sad.

Ha ha ledkr- that reminds of the time me and some friends went round the drive through in a shopping trolley. They didn't serve us, said we had to be in a car! Hmm

wigglesrock · 02/02/2012 20:37

blizy there was a whole big thing on a local radio station here last week about someone who went to use a drivethrough window on foot and weren't served, it was late and the actual restaurant was closed. There was lots of naming and shaming of restaurants Grin.

ledkr go to the pub Grin, I think I might be about to get flamed on a different thread Grin.

tad sending lots of hugs, hope everyone starts to feel better xx

byronicheroine byronicheroine Happy Birthday to Konstantinos.

reastie · 03/02/2012 08:14

Morning ladies,

It's so cold here Sad (blue for cold emoticon). DH is a gardener and the ground is so rock hard I'm wondering how much work he can actually do today Hmm

ledkr did you go to the pub? Mn can gang up a bit when they think they are right can't they Hmm . The other week a radio presenter was going on (she is very holier than thou ) about how she felt she had succeeded as a mother when she caught her daughter reading later than she should Hmm .

blizy and wiggles not long now Grin

Do you think byron has left us forever?

Love the drive thru stories Grin

ponyo glad the night wasn't as bad as you thought

Must dash to work Sad

blizy · 03/02/2012 09:29

Yikes, i' just about to set off on my mini adventure. I have to drive to cairnryan to the ferry port. It will be the furthest I have driven ever! (it's only about 2.5 hours). Look out wiggles here I come! Grin

americanexpat · 03/02/2012 10:43

blizy - oooo, have fun! Hope wiggles is as lovely as she seems. Envy

ledkr - I read part of that thread a few days ago, most people at the beginning seemed to be sensible. They would have their pitchforks it if was the XBox, wouldn't they?

wiggles - stalked you a bit Blush and found the thread. Completely agree, I'd be furious with my parents if they did that, even though we're atheist and baptism doesn't mean anything to us. Completely disrespectful and I would find it difficult to trust them again. Luckily my parents are non-practising Catholics so no worries about that. Grin

blizy · 03/02/2012 13:42

Hi American, poor wiggles will get a fright at the sight of me! I am kinda shy and quietBlush.

Made it to the ferry terminal, although my bloody tyre blew out on the motorway! A very nice young guy stopped and helped to change it. My faith in humanity has been restored.Grin

Deliaskis · 03/02/2012 13:48

Hi ladies,

Well I'm sat here wasting my time at work before I go and get spruced up for my interview. The good thing about everybody being made redundant, is that there is no secret about job-hunting, I've been doing interview prep with my colleagues all morning.

Ledkr I read that thread about the DS reading all night, and I agree with you, it becomes a discipline issue. LIke you said nobody could answer re what if it was DS, which could also apply to...what if it was comics, what if it was books, but just crap ones. Some people like to think they are so bloody noble!

blizy & wiggles enjoy your mini-meet-up! blizy Shock re tyre blow out but glad you made it.

[waves] to everyone else.

Have a nice weekend all

Dx

reastie · 03/02/2012 14:51

blizy and wiggles have a fab meet up Envy - when is the actual meet up?

delia how did the interview go? How long before you find out? Thinking of you x

What a day at work - pipes were frozen to my teaching room so had to bring in water via the other side of the school in buckets for washing up Shock then we had a rogue cake left in an oven which caught on fire and smoked the room out, plus, we are having an inspection next week which means lots of extra work this week end Sad

Oh, and I've asked to join the baking group I mentioned a few weeks ago - starts next month, she's charging £5 per session though which I was a bit Shock and Hmm about, says it's for tea/coffee and recipe's but tbh can't see how that would cost a fiver [cheap skate] . It's till after 10pm on a school night though and I don't know if I'm up to late nights with work early given my poor sleeping situ and that I'm usually wrapped up warm in bed by 10 Blush

wigglesrock · 03/02/2012 20:03

blizy hope you are having a lovely piss up dinner and hope ferry crossing went ok, I don't do boats [shudder]. I'm shy too [stop laughing at the back], honestly I am.

reastie We are meeting on Sunday, I'm doing a split shift tomorrow Angry although I had a bit of a pissy day at work today, nothing specific but everything annoyed me Grin

americanexpat I was really shocked at some of the responses on that thread and I chose to have my children baptised Grin

deliaskis hope interview went well, fingers crossed.
