Sam sounds very cute and clever! Hope you are ok?

Ledkr- hope you survive the pil visit, looking forward to the stories!

I'm off now for the weekend, won't have any wifi or phone signal. Hope you all have a fab weekend.Grin

americanexpat · 28/01/2012 13:17

debka - I'm trying your scone recipe but the dough was really wet, like a paste. I finally just used a spoon to drop it on the baking sheet. 1/4 pt is 142ml, right? I don't have a measuring cup with pints.

I've been on a cooking/baking frenzy today. Pot of soup, scones, and these vegetable nuggets that L really loves. Usually it's a struggle to get him to eat any veg but I think he'd eat anything if it has cheese in it. Grin He also has a new tooth on the bottom, but it's not next to the others. Hmm It looks like another tooth or two should be between them. Is it normal for that to happen?

ledkr - I hope Dilly is feeling better today, poor dear.

blizy - have a lovely weekend!

debka · 28/01/2012 14:25

O dear expat, shouldn't be that wet at all- it's a soft dough. Did you use all the liquid? You shouldn't need all of it, I add about 2/3s ish normally and use the rest to brush on the tops. Did I not say that? Blush Will make it soon to check I've got the recipe right! Hope they turned out ok in the end...

ledkr poor ol' Dills, too much excitement? Grin

americanexpat · 28/01/2012 14:59

I think you said to save a bit, just seems our definitions of "a bit" are different. Grin That was likely the problem. No worries, they were edible in the end. Grin

ILovePonyo · 28/01/2012 17:47

Hi all,

Well A had her check with hv yesterday, all is well, she weighs 17lbs now! Shes on nearly the 25th centile (i think).

american thanks for that link, I have had a day of cooking food for A and made those, she seemed to like it - well only half went on the floor! They are quite oily arent they? Not too sure about teeth sorry, have you taken him to the dentist? Hv was asking if we had yesterday and seemed a bit surprised when we said we hadn't - I'd never thought of it! Shock Blush

ledkr poor D, hope she is better now, too much birthday fun Wink

tadj aww at S saying uh oh, that sounds cute! A just screams when she wants us to pick something up for her Hmm

reastie very good point with people assuming its all going swimmingly when babies aren't newborns anymore - I think I would have thought the same before A turned up! Shock at your filling, well 'ard reastie! Grin

A has been tired for ages so I took her for a little walk to the corner shop to buy milk, I held her (no pram) came back in and she has gone to sleep - maybe a bit of fresh air helps then?!

We gave her veg tagine that we had yesterday for her tea, she loved it and scoffed it all :)

Better wake her up soon, I thought my typing would do it as it usually does Hmm

ledkr · 28/01/2012 17:53

Poor Dills has managed to keep down water and some toast but just wants to sleep on me. Dh loafed aout all morning periodically watching footy and lifting weights in the back room.I feel like im with a teenager sometimes.
Liverpool beat manu tho HOOOOOORAHHH

reastie · 28/01/2012 18:15

ponyo don't worry about the dentist - ours doesn't even want to see alice until she's 18 months old Hmm . Tbh chances of alice actually opening her mouth to order are pretty slim Grin . Oh - and I wouldn't be able to carry alice to the shops and back - she's so heavy!

ledkr poor dilly Sad . I guess at least she was well for her birthday [clutches at straws] . Is it Ellas bday tomorrow or have I got confused? Btw I saw there's a docu on sws starting one evening this week that I saw was on and thought of you - I'm going to tape it Grin

american nice recipe - might try that. Often alice just has what I make for dh/myself but mashed up a bit, but it does mean I have to use bland baby stock in everything Confused . This evening she had our veggie shephards pie and she ate so much her tummy button is turning into an outie Shock

tad love the uh oh. Still no actual words from alice aside from dad, add, and bab (if you count these as words Wink )

wigglesrock · 28/01/2012 20:00

Evening, trying to get caught up - bloody work Grin

Shall I put a list the list of names etc up again so we can check whose birthday is next? Forgot to put it on this thread and wasn't sure with the whole Facebook "like" debacle if people wanted me to?

blizy let me know about the weekend Grin, really hope you can make it - thank Christ I have a hairdressing appt this week, lots of love for today and enjoy your weekend in the wilderness. xx

reastie well done on the filling! Well you know what I mean, my dentist despairs of me, I burn the freeze off very quickly so end up getting loads done on the verge of being frozen Grin. My dentist doesn't see the babies until 18-24 months, but he wants them registered asap.

ledkr hope Dilly feels better, happy belated birthday Dills. Thought of you today when the football was on in work Grin Anna also has a thing for toilet brushes Shock and she keeps creeping into really tight spaces and then giving off when she can't get out.

Anna will eat anything if its got mince, garlic and some kind of sauce in it. Tonight was meatballs and pasta Grin She still goes for the odd day or two with very little food and can't manage to get the hang of breakfast at all! She is still waiting for the cigs and coffee years to kick in!

deliaskis missed you on Friday. Hope you are enjoying the weekend. Just wanted to say that at different times all of the girls have driven me to various degrees of exhaustion, frustration and exhaustion again. I think that as well when we finish work or are off for the weekend etc we feel so much pressure for everything to be perfect or what we are told perfect is Grin that we just put so much pressure and expectation on ourselves that everything becomes stressed and I know I am quicker to lose my temper!

Nothing, absolutely nothing is more draining than lack of sleep, I know with O I had two nights a week that I went to bed at 8.30pm, just got her down (she used to go down ok) then go to bed, it helped in the short-term.

Ps My house is murder between 5.15pm and 7.00pm every night Grin xxxx

Pss C won't remember if you've been a little short with her, honest x

ILovePonyo · 28/01/2012 20:04

Ledkr ooh yes to living with a teenager, annoying isn't it Wink

Reastie now you mention it I can't imagine A opening her mouth for the dentist either Hmm
Grin at A and her big full tummy, do you use quorn mince or just veg in your cottage pie? I like doing veg ones as beef mince can be a bit oily.

Ok I have a question - if your baby is asleep but you need to wake them, do you? A had a late nap so we woke her up, she just cried and cried so in the end we bathed her and put her to bed early, she went straight to sleep. Am Confused as I don't know if I should have let her sleep (but she would have slept for hours)

ILovePonyo · 28/01/2012 20:07

X post wiggles, yes to the list and Grin at your house being madness between 5.15 and 7, some wise words there Smile

reastie · 28/01/2012 21:21

ponyo we will sometimes wake alice up if we feel she's slept too long in the day/is up too late in the morning slavedrivers although not always - depends what mood I'm in Hmm . I usually just bang about alot in a close vicinity to alice and she manages to wake herself up Grin . DH has become an expert at doing this but only when I don't want alice to wake up Wink

four4 how are you doing?

wiggles yes please to stats, which reminds me blizy just realised the date and sending lots of xx.

Have fiddled a bit with list Grin I think I've missed out a few name changes, so lurkers out there, let me know Grin.

Have posted a new photo of the walking one.

ponyo We used to wake Sofia if she napped late in the day but only if it was too near bedtime, I never woke her during the morning/early afternoon. I have however not had to wake either O or A for any reason Shock.

ledkr · 28/01/2012 22:12

wiggsI touched that you thought of me in the footy.I was actually crying,we have had such a bad few years and now they look set to win a title.I love it when we beat manu too Grin
Dilly gets grumpy around 3ish somedays,i often leave for school early cos i dont know what else to do,she is down to one nap most days so thats the problem really.I find it oure hell, she wont do anything but winge, cries to be picked up wiggles down and then cries to be picked up. Horrid.
She still doesnt eat much tbh, half a jar of baby food per meal (i do cook for her but to give you an idea) and a small fromage frais, not too fussed on b'fast either.
I absolutely do wake her up if she sleeps too long or late. Today she slept a lot so i just let her do her thing, she has stopped being sick and went down at 9.30 so we shall see.
Dh is working till 12 so me and Ella are having chocolate and watching mama mia,Ella says it makes her jaw ache from smiling Grin

ILovePonyo · 28/01/2012 22:17

Nice one wiggles, yes it was a very late nap but she was just so miserable when we woke her up!

reastie I did try some banging around in the background, usually she only wakes up when I don't want her to and am trying to be quiet..

Wonder where some of our posters are, looking at the stats has made me think - hi any lurkers Grin

wigs and blizy hope you two can meet up - don't forget a nice piccy for us!

Night all, am off to bed soon xx

ledkr · 28/01/2012 22:18

That pic is so sweet, is she a weee bit genjay??

wigglesrock · 28/01/2012 22:24

ledkr Yes she photographs "strawberry blonde" Grin All my dads family are ginger as are all of Mr Ws aunts on one side. Sofia could watch Mamma Mia all day and does when she's at my Mums.

WeAreBorg · 28/01/2012 23:00

Hi Pals

Quickie from me as I am in work again tomorrow and N is in one of his rare sleep moments.

ledkr Belated happy birthday to Dilly, hope she is feeling better soon. I am delighted that Liverpool one but only because I hate Man U
Nate eats very little too, but bizarrely troffed some liver yesterday

delia hope you are ok, looks like you got some lovely advice. N is grumpy and clingy with me, but everyone else thinks he is a delight. He "laughed all day" today according to mum and dad Hmm

wiggles cute photos. Does A walk with her hands waving over her head? Or is this just a Nate special?

ponyo ha ha I have never needed to wake Nate, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

We are going to the dentist on friday to whoever asked about dentists, I think it was wiggles who reminded me to go and N is coming too for a "check"

Right I'm going to enjoy some sleep in a baby free bed for a little bit, night xx

ledkr · 28/01/2012 23:15

Ella didnt appreciate my lecture on the joys of the real ABBA though,in fact it got her to bed pretty damn quick Grin ungratefull cow bag. I dont think ive ever watched the slipping thru my fingers scene without crying Sad

debka · 29/01/2012 09:50

ponyo S has suddenly massively cut down on daytime sleep, but as a result she's sleeping 7-7.30 at night now which is a lovely surprise every morning when I wake up and it's light. (sorry!)

ledkr sounds lovely watching Mama Mia with Ella, I always cry to slipping through my fingers too.

Who is it on here who was a The Killing fan? I didn't watch any of them when they were on but I ordered the series (Danish version) off Lovefilm and we watched the 1st 2 episodes last night, it was really good. If I were a detective I would be just like Sarah Grin Did cry though quite a lot [soppy]

borg liver? I remember my mum feeding us kidneys and the feeling of retching whilst eating will never leave me.

wiggles she's so big! My girls can look a bit ginger in photos but they're blonde really

It's the 20 Minute Run tonight, wish me luck girls....

blizy · 29/01/2012 15:42

Hi girls, had a fab weekend with Dh and friends.

Ledkr- hope dilly is feeling better?

Wiggles- I am defo comming over! Grin

ledkr · 29/01/2012 16:15

Well Jel of the meet up I bet you will both cry cos of Zoe,i know i would as although we dont actually know each other we all went through that with you blizyYou can discuss what you want to do for Zoes birthday too,i thought we should all have a little moment together maybe light a little birthday candle on a cup cake. What do you want us to do Jane?
Pil have taken Dils for a walk at my suggestion cos i dont think she has ever pushed the pram and i thought it would be nice-see im not all bad Grin
I did the shred today phew i cant believ i was doing that when id just had Dilly Hmm

Four4me · 29/01/2012 18:19

Hi have had a quick read through, off now to bath the troops and then will study properly!!!!

So sorry I missed Dilly's birthday, so pleased she had a lovely day.

Delia big hugs.

Sorry to be awol but have been ill and only just getting going again. Last week I felt rubbish and eventually crashed and ended up with both tonsillitis and mastitis. Horrid. The gp prescribed two antibiotics and rest!! All good with the dc's though and dh has been a star, thank god.

Hope all have had a good weekend. Xx

debka · 29/01/2012 20:18

44me that sounds hideous, hope you're back on your feet soon. 3 cheers for yr DH Grin

reastie have you been having a life this weekend??? It's normally just thee and me here whilst all this lovely lot have fun in RL!

ledkr I'm also well jel of wiggs and blizy's meet up and agree first thing I'd do is burst into tears and give blizy a massive, embarrassing, slobbery hug Grin Hope PILs are behaving.

Had a nice family day today- my mum made roast beef and my sisters and their DHs all came round for lunch (at my mum's, not here, heaven forbid!). Sis2 is making rather a meal out of being pg and we're all as sympathetic as pos to her face then when she leaves the room it's all eye rolls and FFSs! I am so bloody glad it's not me pg.

Just ran 20 minutes straight, I can't believe I did it, honestly, 5 weeks ago when it was the 1 minute runs I couldn't even manage to run 1 minute, and I was so hot, sweaty and out of breath it was awful. Today I even sang along to Valerie for the last bit of my run!

wigglesrock · 29/01/2012 20:44

I'm going to sit on blizys knee the whole time she's over and refuse to let go of her hand Grin. Let me know how long you'll be over and where you're staying etc.

debka vvv impressed with the running and singing. My sister has driven me mad the past few months but I have just smiled and waved. Apparently no-one else in the world has ever had a baby before Grin.

Four4Me Hope you're on the mend and don't rush feeling better - rest and then rest some more! Funny enough thought of you today - well not you, your Thomas Grin Sat beside a boy at Mass today who really reminded me of some of the stories you have told about Thomas Grin
