D glad you're feeling positive re job change. Sofia had a stage of waking up for about 90 mins between 2-4amish when she was 12-15 months, then she reverted back to type Grin I was always convinced it was due to her brain figuring out how to walk, she walked at 14 months and then she slept! Although I remember when I was having Olivia sleep problems everyone kept saying it'll settle when she weans/walks/talks etc Hmm

I never leave the house without a tub of breadsticks/dairylea dunkers, raisins, and an apple (emski all 3 of mine love apples), its my child friendly Zombie backpack if you will Grin.

MizK A is a "fun" water spitter too, her absolute favourite thing water based thing to do - is to squeeze the wet bath sponge onto the bathroom floor!

ledkr agree Bridesmaids is really good, although I was cringing in embarrassment at some bits, I could barely watch.

reastie I would count it as first steps Grin

blizy · 25/01/2012 14:27

Ahhhh bugger, I think I thrown most of last years receipts out I only have April and may for 2010! I am now going to have to pay a huge tax bill because of my stupidity!

I had a quick lurk at all your posts, I will be back later ( if this tax return does not put into a coma that is).

debka · 25/01/2012 21:01

blizy I really hope not, maybe you put them somewhere stupid else?

ledkr I met a woman today called Louise with a daughter called- wait for it- DELILAH. Oh yes. She was most put out that there was another Delilah Grin, calmed down a bit when I told her you weren't from round here!

reastie any more steps? I read your post out to S and she was proper miffed that Alice got there first so took 3 steps this afternoon Grin

Legs killing me tonight, did week 5 run 1, 3x 5 minute sessions. Had a bath, now all settled down for OBEM, yay!

blizy · 25/01/2012 21:20

Debka I have defo thrown them outSad, I'm trying to full up my book with things under £10(don't need receipts for under 10 squids). It's a proper pita, I'm going to lose out on some moneySad. It will tea h me Grin

Go Alice with walking!

Delia- I'm so sorry you had such a shitty day, I hope you can find a new job soon.

Hope all the babies sleep well tonight. I'm off to bed now. Night allGrin

reastie · 25/01/2012 21:31

blizy how annoying. That's the sort of thing I would do and then dh would roll his eyes and moan alot about it to me

deb what are the chances of TWO ledkrs - I bet this louise doesn't have as many children as ours though and isn't as old Wink . Go Bean with the walking even if it does spoil alices thunder Grin . Alice has now done a few steps several times although has mainly done it just if I hold really exciting things near her to tempt her forth so she sort of forgets she's not holding on Hmm

delia yes, I admit it, I prob would leave alice if she was really hysterically screaming Blush . She has an ocassional habit of waking in the evening an hour or so after going to bed. DH and I have countless times got her up to calm her but she always just crys and moans until she goes back to sleep, so we know if we pick her up it will just extend her misery of going back to sleep. We have left her really really screaming - like the silent cry you mention. I have been known to cry at the same time Sad . We do still do in and shush and pat to our timings though so she knows we are here. She sometimes will settle herself back when we pat her so she knows we're there. Tis very hard though. Pick what you feel is right and just make sure you stick to it so you don't waste any effort you put in. When Alice was teeny she was a pretty good sleeper and after she had a cold she got in bad habits and it took us months to get back on track (hence the CC) - my logic is the shorter the disruptive behaviour has been going on, the sorter it takes to fix but I made that up . Remember I know nothing about what I'm talking about though Grin

Ohh, I've spotted a wooden toddler play kitchen on netmums - am tempted by it as alice went over to a friends this week who had a toddler oven and they both had a great time playing with it - looks to be something she could play with over the next few years and of course I'm a pushy mum into wanting her to cook Wink . Ad says originally bought for £135 but she's selling for £50. The ad is over a month old and I asked if she would take offers and she said yes as she wants to get rid of it - would it be really really cheeky to offer £30 or £35? She might then say meet in the middle at £40 which is the max I'd consider anyway [clueless and bargainous]

wigglesrock · 25/01/2012 21:35

blizy yup, that'll learn you Grin. Hope you get it sorted or at least keep thinking of things for under a tenner.

debka yay for S, she'll be joining you on the jog soon Grin

Not watching 127 hours, my sister lent Mr W Battlestar Galactica [snoresville], I can't get into it, what is it with men and space? Hmm. I blame ET Grin

ILovePonyo · 25/01/2012 21:43

Hi all, have just watched 127 hours, I wasn't that impressed tbh Shock

reastie yes offer £30/£35, if she says no then pay a bit more - nothing wrong with that!

delia sorry ot hear about your crappy day, it all happens at once doesn't it. Hope naughty miss C sleeps well tonight, I think any disruption (ie medicine at night) can mess up sleep, just hope she settles back to her old ways soon.

deb and reastie wow to all these walking babies - A is showing no signs of letting go of the settee and walking Grin

wiggles aww at your girls and Grin at S having a tough life, poor thing Wink

Oh I've forgotten what else has been said. Oh but I do want to make clear I would not be waking dp for any sexytime in the middle of the night, dream or no dream - that time is for lovely sleep! I am a morning or in the day type, which is prob why we never dtd anymore Hmm

deb what are these milestones S had to perform in front of the hv?! A can't point, she can occasionally clap but only when she feels like it. Yikes, hope she doesn't disappoint

Sorry I can't remeber what else people have been up to but I have been lurking all day Grin also has anyone noticed there have been some weird bitchy threads recently? Not that I get involved, just lurk obv Wink

Sleep well babies and ladies x

WeAreBorg · 25/01/2012 22:28

First and most importantly wiggles Battlestar is one of the finest TV shows ever ever (I am assuming Mr. W has the recent one not the one from the 80s), it does take a while to get into though I'll grudgingly admit that.

delia Sad. Hope you get a good pay off though? I clearly have no sleep advice unless you would like C to go to bed at 10pm every night and wake up between 1 and 20 times for no apparent reason. He does sleep in till 9am though, and once until 945 Shock

emski heee hee at your boss. My boss is minging. Really. I wish I worked with attractive men, it would make it so much more bearable. Where do fit men work? . Cute Noah and his apples.

reastie it hadn't occurred to me to take water out, but they must get thirsty mustn't they? That's probably why he wants to BF all the time Blush. Snacks hadn't really occurred to me either.

Well done to babydeb and babyreastie, clever girls.

Does it count as pointing if they just stick their arm out to gesture at something or do they have to properly point?

american thanks for sharing your sleeping tips Envy

ledkr bridesmaids is brilliant.

Oh just seen [bsmile] [bgrin] [bwink]

WeAreBorg · 25/01/2012 22:31

blizy I'm pleased I am PAYE, I really wouldn't be able to remember to keep receipts etc.

Night all [bconfused] [bangry] [bblush]

Grannyapple · 26/01/2012 05:45

emski N has the had the same thing for a few days...I was praying it wasn't chickenpox...but so far hasn't come to anything. He threw up on Sunday evening & again last night as soon as he got in from nursery...he then fell straight asleep hence the early waking now. Off to check his rash & then I think I need to call nursery this morning to check if ok to put him back in today.

Will post later...lots to catch up on x

blizy · 26/01/2012 07:19

His girls

Granny- I hope bare is ok?

Debka- I missed that s also walked!

wow, two ledkr's? Now that would be something! are you all set for dilly's birthday tomorrow? I can't believe that our babies are almost a year old already. This has been the quickest year ever.

I'm having another day of doing tax returnAngry I didn't get to sleep until after 3.45am and then up again at 6Sad.

Hope you all have a good daySmile.

americanexpat · 26/01/2012 08:48

borg - if you recall, 6 months ago we were in competition for worst sleeper on the thread. Grin He just seems to have sorted himself out, no idea how or why. He actually slept through last night. Shock

ledkr · 26/01/2012 09:35

Hi all.well she went through so im hoping the 4.30 wake up was just a one off.I did put her to bed slightly later as had to get Ella from dancing at 7.

deb No!How weird.I do know a couple of Delilahs actually so she can climb right off her hobby horse. Was she ginger?could she switch on a keyboard?had surgery before she was one? Hmmm? No i thought not. There's only one Dilly Grin
I have had to revert back to sw,low carb is so impractical and expensive.Im eating a lot of quorn which is a bit bleurgh and makes me fart but its got to be done.
bridesmaids was hilarious. My friend said the bit on the plane reminded her of me when im drunk. On my birthday a few years ago i was too drunk to stay out so my frinds made me go home.I sulked all the way home in the taxi and asked the driver to take me to No 2 No fun Avenue! cos im too drunk have any fun on my birthday!Everyone was in hysterics but i was furious.I also lit a fag off someones birthday cake in the resturant Blush

Well reastie and deb Dilly also took a few steps yesterday. How weird. She fell onto me laughing her head off.

Im off to join a new toddler group this morning,i feel quite nervous.
Does anyone get fed up with constantly having snot, dribble or food on their clothes.Ive given up wearing black.Dill will literally come up and shamelessly wipe her face or nose on me Shock
jane I lose sll my receipts,i spend half my life arguing in shops. I can find them for a packet of crisps but not my 70 pound shoes iyswim?

ILovePonyo · 26/01/2012 11:07

Grr it has just taken me an hour and a half to get A to go to sleep for her nap. The last half an hour was her screaming, me picking her up, her squirming to get down, me putting her down, her screaming Hmm
So ledkr I am now covered in snot and dribble, I'm not changing me fecking top either even though it's black Angry

Grin at there's only one dilly, too right! Hope she enjoys her birthday tomo, oh I have seen a good choc cake in sainsbobs which i am getting for A, it's massive Grin

Blizy how goes the receipt finding? I'd be rubbish at keeping mine too, I usually put my chewing gum in them like joy from my name is earl Wink

Id better go and sort myself out whilst miss no-nap is asleep, back later x

ledkr · 26/01/2012 12:04

I am not buying a mahooosive cake,i keep digging into Ellas as it is. I was going to get one of those mini cakers just for Dills and Ella, that will piss off greedy fil when they come to visit on Sunday.Im still not convinced they wont be coming Saturday for the full b and b experience.
Toddlers was ok but it starts with a church service which was a bit Blush as it was just me and 2 older ladies with grandchildren and we had to sing hymns in a high pitched voice Hmm i did even know the tune so it sounded great. It filled up in the church hall tho and dilly had a great time bombing around. One little boy didnt like her tho and kept pulling or pushing her i had to say "dont hurt her sweetheart" thru gritted teeth when i really wanted to smack his arse Grin
They sand Happy Birthday to Dilly and she just looked at them strangely.

reastie · 26/01/2012 12:29

ponyo Alice was a nightmare to get to nap today too Hmm . Finally she's gone down and I'm madly trying to do my marking ready for teaching tomorrow [dull]

We are still planning on making my hungry caterpillar cake I linked to last week for Alice's birthday Grin ledkr we will need a big PIL update for the week end please to get our fix Grin and massive happy bday to Dilly for tomorrow - can you believe it was a year since you were posting updates from hospital about your waters gushing everywhere when they cut you open Wink Grin

Well, MIL has been weird no change then . She was unwell with a cold at the week end so we avoided a visit but then seemed OK to do ALice duties on Tuesday saying it was nearly better. Now her cold has developed into a cough and she's not looking after Alice tomorrow 'so alice doesn't catch it' - ????? AIBU to think this is a bit odd - firstly if Alice would have caught it she would have got it on Tuesday and secondly she's less infectious over time so more likely to not get it IYKWIM. I don't mind of course, just means my Mum has to cancel her voluntary work to look after alice (btw she doesn't mind - I'm not being a mean daughter. I said I would stay home if needed). Like I say, I don't mind but it just seems a bit, well, odd not that that suprises me

Must getback to work...

Emski76 · 26/01/2012 13:46

Hi all
Ledkr, there is definitely only ONE Dilly for us!! Well done on her walking. Fancy walking just before her first birthday! Don't think Noah will be walking for a whie. Ben was 14 months, he took his first steps on Xmas eve! I love your drunken stories! They remind me of my yoof!

Reastie, I have come to the conclusion that all mil's are just plain odd!
Are you going to get the wooden kitchen for Alice?

Blizy,I hope your tax return gets finished today! Dh still hasn't done his!

Borg, my boss isn't relly even good looking, he looks a bit like Harry Potter!

well, we spent an hour at lunchtime at the 'sit and wait' surgery at the doctors for Noah's rash to be told by a dismissive doctor that it was a non descriptive rash and that there is no need to be concerned for a rash unless baby is ill. I wanted to shout 'and I waited an hour for you to tell me what I already knew'! I only took him because he has his hv check tomorrow and I didn't want to seem like a bad mother!

debka · 26/01/2012 14:01

ledkr only one Dilly Grin

emski that's blooming annoying, made worse by the fact that he was dismissive. I hate drs like that, if they have no people skills go and work in a f-ing lab with some rats or something!

reastie poor you with MiL woes. No way in hell I'd leave either of mine with PILs.

Took S up to my sister today, she an optometrist and was working at the hospital. S has had a black bit in her eye since Monday, it's also bloodshot so my sis said she'd better look at it. So she looked at it, then said we'd have to go to Eye Casualty Shock where the consultant gave her ointment and says if it doesn't shift by Monday I'll have to take her back where they'll try to remove it. If she won't co-operate they'll have to take it out under GA Shock. Kind of wish I hadn't bothered taking her to see my sister now....

americanexpat · 26/01/2012 14:43

reastie - did she cope OK with Alice the other day? It sounds a bit like an excuse (especially if she isn't that unwell), do you think she's making excuses? I hope not, but it's the first thing that popped into my head.

debka - Shock Poor dear, does it seem like it's bothering her?

Emski - That's irritating, especially after you'd spent an hour waiting. He was ill with the vomiting though, wasn't he? Agree with debka about doctors with no people skills!

Well, DH finally listened to me about putting L to bed and it worked (of course). He kept saying in a bewildered voice, "I can't believe I can just put him down and he goes to sleep." Grin He woke twice before I went to bed but managed to settle himself back to sleep (though I was hovering outside the bedroom door with a bottle).

debka · 26/01/2012 14:49

expat not bothering her at all, but dr said if it doesn't move, eventually it will fester [yuk]. Well done your DH for finally listening!

reastie · 26/01/2012 15:51

gosh deb Shock and what a bother having to go to the eye casualty . Hope you get get the drops in

american about time too re: your dh Wink

ems what a pain re: waiting for an hour for nothing. I guess better safe than sorry though. Btw we are hoping to pick up the wooden toy kitchen this week end - she said £35 was fine Grin - just got to get all the paraphernalia to go with it now (plastic food etc) - DH and I were wondering if we could stash the kitchen in the loft and give it to her for christmas - she would still be too young to work out it was second hand wouldn't she? Hmm

Well, Alice is getting a tooth through ( Grin - I think). I noticed when she was giggling when I was changing her nappy she has a white bit just sticking through. She only has 2 bottom teeth so far and they came through months ago at the same time so this is exciting for me Grin . I thought she was bfing a bit oddly past couple of days as it felt a bit uncomfy - guess that's why. Now just hoping it comes through without too much bother for her.

I forgot to say - next week at school we have real life hollywood casting director people auditioning students for a part in a proper big budget film by oscar winning people - do you think I could pass as a slim 15 year old boy and try for the part? Grin [snigger]

reastie · 26/01/2012 15:57

oh, and american it does seem like an excuse doesn't it? Which is odd as it's usually every excuse to see alice not to not see her Hmm . Maybe it's only desperate to see alice so long as it fits in with her schedule, I don't know Hmm . She said any time she could fill in for my mum if needed she would, which is a silly thing to say IMO as she works the day my mum does so couldn't help anyway Confused

blizy · 26/01/2012 17:33

debka poor sabine, i hope the foreign object pops out.

reastie You would have to bind up your boobies Grin.

emski Angry at the Dr -twat!

Well tax return done adn good new is I don't have too much to pay. Grin It started snowing here abour 3.30pm and now it is a white-out, I hope dh gets his flight home tomorrow! We are supposed to be staying with a group of friends in a log cabin ( in the sticks) on Sat, it will make for an interesing drive.Hmm

reastie · 26/01/2012 18:30

I'd have to bind up more than my boobs blizy Wink

ILovePonyo · 26/01/2012 19:55

I've just lost a post again Angry I knew this would happen, my computer has been typing weird all day.

I didn't have much interesting to say anyway, except that A has her hv tomorrow so emski you and I can compare notes afterwards Grin
