debka Grin at you longing for your run, well done!

emski what a lovely husband - he is the greatest! I had my appendix taken out when I was 11 - I think labour is the closest pain I've experienced to it as well.

Mr W is on the mend, he gets out of hospital tomorrow hopefully, really looking forward to getting him home I think. They moved him to a private room this afternoon Shock, think it may be because they know what he does for a living. Don't want him bumping into anyone he shouldn't Grin. He is going to be off work for around 6 weeks, but am running around like a headless chicken trying to get A minded when I'm at work, as he can't lift anything heavy Grin for the next 10 days. Am back to work tomorrow so have to tell them I can't work my Sat night this weekend - should be fun! As we all know they are not the most compassionate bunch!

ledkr · 12/01/2012 22:00

Aw wiggs poor you and poor mr w. I hope hes feeling better soon but just think of all the time you will have together Grin
deb I went to FMC and saw Prof Krypov Nicolades too,he is amazing.I was 11 weeks and didnt need a full bladder and they told me the sex too. Good equipment or what. Glad all was well for sis.
I feel a bit irrationally put out with my sis having hers soon (feb reastie) cos it means Dilly has only been the baby of the family for year.
We had dentist straight from school so i suggested to dh that we take the kids for tea after. He went all stingy and started saying about saving money.
I went mad cos its ok if its spent on nights out, petrol to see pil or ridiculously expensive presents for his family at xmas.
I told him to take us home and id cook for the kids only and have a vodka for my tea grrrrr.
He still drove us to the restraunt so we sat in silence looking like those couples you see Grin
Just to look unbothered about food i ordered bloody seabass and steamed veg Shock it was bloody horrible and i felt fuming as i watched them all tuck into their chips and tasty dinner.
I have just had to tuck into a huge bowl of super noodles.
Dh can see straight thru me and keeps on banging on about my "delicious" dinner being too filling. I am trying not to laugh but its hard cos he says it in this girly voice as if its me.
Dills was awake rather a lot last night,im hoping its just her teeth and she will go back to the good sleeper she had been before.Even dh got a bit annoyed last night.Ella is still going through her murderers phase so between them im not exactly well rested.
Is anyone watching big bro,im rather liking it.

ILovePonyo · 12/01/2012 22:06

Hi all,

wiggles yikes what a stress for you both, hope Mr W heals up quickly. If it makes you feel any better I don't think I would have been too sympathetic if it were dp so fair enough suggesting Rennie! Good luck for work tomorrow, hope they aren't arsey with you.

Borg N is a "sleep resister" isn't he, I do count myself lucky when I read your posts and see N is still awake at 11pm (hope you don't mind Wink) For first birthday we are planning not much - A's is on a tues so anyone who wants to come say hi can but otherwise we'll just do cake (which she'll love Grin) and a couple of pressies.

emski aww at your dh (good choice Mr. emski) and double aww at aristocats, I went to see it at the cinema with my grandma and grandad when I was young, it always makes me think of that

reastie I think give A a couple more times in nursery and she'll be fine, I;ve said before but A always sleeps much better at night when she's been in nursery during the day - last night she went to bed at 6.30pm and I got her up at 7.15am with a couple of dummy runs at 5 and 6 Shock It usually isn't that good when she's been at home with me all day! Grin at your pfb dh by the way (just like us) and glad A is alright.

Hi everyone else, am off home tomo to see my mum and sis - will try and be antisocial get on the computer to catch up whilst I'm there Grin

Oh and finally managed to open a savings account for A today - has everyone else already done this or should I feel v organised Wink

ILovePonyo · 12/01/2012 22:10

x post ledkr sorry but Grin at you and your dh being "one of those couples" I often think thats how me and dp look even if theres nothing wrong between us. Also Grin at your dh asking about your yummy dinner, you should have had a pudding to make up for the crapness!

Hope Dils sleeps better tonight...

americanexpat · 13/01/2012 09:12

debka - Yes, he has formula and is quite happy with bottles. I always said I'd stop when he wanted to stop (when my mum asked in the manner of "you're still bfing?") but I didn't think it would be so soon. Maybe I'll buy myself some nice new bras as comfort. Grin

wiggles - poor Mr w! I'm Grin about you telling him to take some Rennies. Did you roll your eyes and tell him to stop whinging too? I'm quite Envy at his private room though.

When I was preg, we waited until after the 12 week scan to tell everyone. Just before I told my dad's family, my cousin's wife announced she was 4 weeks pregnant straight after taking a test. I was privately very Angry that she'd stolen my thunder but this is the first time I've told anyone! She had a girl and everyone was fawning: "Oh, finally a girl!" Angry

I can't wait until L is finished with the amoxicillin, his poos are absolutely horrendous.

WeAreBorg · 13/01/2012 12:06

Hi Chums,

wiggles oh poor Mr W, hope he is feeling better, what a drama. Well at least he can't get it again!

Re thunder stealing, yes it's irrational to be annoyed but it is just so annoying isn't it. My SIL came to visit N when he was a few days old and announced she was pregnant, cue much offering of seats and aahing whilst me and Nate were stood sulkily in a corner. american Shock at the girl comment. Boys are best everyone knows that Wink, they love their mums the most [true].
I'd be upset if N stopped feeding, I think this may happen when he's around 10 though so I should have time to prepare myself.

ponyo ooh very organised with the savings. I need to do that but will immediately forget as soon as I get up. Yes Nate is a sleep resister! It's quite funny though, he woke me up at 3am standing over me putting his fingers up my nose and chortling.

Grin at ledkrs dinner date, I usually order some rank fish then eat all DHs steak.

emski congratulations!! Lovely pressies.

reastie N banged his mouth ?on the cot, he damaged the frenulum bit at the top of his mouth and it bled, which apparently is a sign of child abuse Shock, so keeping a low profile at the mo. Also not being able to properly explain an injury is not a good sign re child abuse either. Hope ledkr doesn't shop me.

delia Sad to paycut, hope all is okay. Glad C is back to her usual tricks. We seem to be having a lot of medical emergencies at the moment.

Well it appears DH is an avid lurker on this thread, he thinks I come across "like a different person" on MN! I feel like he's reading my diary, what happens when I want to winge about him? Bugger off DH!

blizy · 13/01/2012 12:24

Borg - Shock at your Dh reading the thread! I would be super Angry if mine did! I kind of use the thread as a diary too, Somwhere to get my thoughts out.
Why is a cut frenulum a sign of child abuse?

Hope you all have a good day

Deliaskis · 13/01/2012 12:47

Grin at blizy and Borg using this like a diary, I have just come on to rant about something myself, completely non-baby related, but yes would be Angry if anyone read it too.

My grrrrrr is re work, horrid week re redundancies and paycut, but also horrid attitudes and people speaking to others like they are shi!t. Not necessary, or helpful, or conducive to us all getting on with things and trying to turn things around. Had to go and sit in my car to cool down as was about to rant.

So here goes sh!t f**kity b0ll0cks....grrrrrrrr! And Breathe....

Deliaskis · 13/01/2012 13:08

Sorry for that, am a biti Blush now... sorry.

blizy · 13/01/2012 13:27

Ha ha don't be Blush, we all need a good rant sometimes. I hope things settle down at work, it really us a crap time for you. Do you think people are being shitty because they are do stressed and worried? I hope you have a quick day delia.

reastie · 13/01/2012 14:29

Afternoon ladies

borg please tell me you are even more sharp and witty in RL Grin . And Shock at your dh reading this - doesn't he have anything more exciting like saving lives to do Wink . Btw Shock at the child abuse thing

delia you rant away - it's a bad situation to be in being stuck there by the sounds of things. DO you have to stay 1 year after you return or after mat leave starts contractually?

Well, I've been home over an hour from work and DH and Alice are missing Shock . No idea where they are. They can't go anywhere as I had the car and car seat and we live in a village with nothing to do and nowhere to go. Don't know how long to leave it before I get worried Hmm . DH knew when I was coming back from work so not sure where they could have gone Confused

wiggles is mrw home yet? I bet it will be nice having him home to do chores and babysit recover for a few weeks

Was it american who said they would celebrate no bfing with a new bra? I'm thinking the same - I am fed up with non wired feeding mono boob bras. Now Alice usually only does first thing and last thing feeds I'm going out in a couple of weeks to get an actual proper normal bra [easily pleased]

ledkr · 13/01/2012 14:41

Delias That happened at my old job, they announced redundancys and it got a bit nasty. In was actually verbally attacked on my Birthday by a colleague i supervised because i had another job,it was a bit scary, she lost it.Loon.
wiggs How is the patient?
reastie calm down,dh takes dilly for epic walks when im at work.If they werent here when i got home id do any number of things-eat,sleep,pooh,smoke,watch tv etc etc,you can tell ive got 5 Grin
Ella has a big Audition on Sunday, its for Bugsy Malone, shes desperate to be in it but we can t find her tap shoes so im going to steal borrow some from lost property today.
borg Cant believe dh read our private thoughts im trying to think what i said in the past im sure some of it wasnt man friendly.
I think dh may have had a little peek a few years ago when i first started mn but im sure he doesnt now.
Mr Borg Stop being so nosey or ill get the feminists onto you.

ledkr · 13/01/2012 14:43

Oh yes the frenum is a common injury if a child has been back handed in the gob-bastards. I dont do cp at the moment but i didnt suffer fools when i did as you can imagine and i can see through a blagger too.

reastie · 13/01/2012 14:44

ledkr it's now past alices afternoon snack time and they're still not back Confused and I know DH is so disorganised that he wouldn't take anything with him. plus why am I wasting this only alone time I'll get on mn

Deliaskis · 13/01/2012 14:48

blizy well yes I think people are in general not enjoying things at the moment, as it is really stressful, but this one person, who is always a bit...blunt....is now kind of blunt and also stressed and now really rather objectionable. So yeuch, cr@ppy situ.

reastie it's until 12 months after my return, so I've only done 5 of those so far...

Ledkr yeah clearly people do act like loons when things get a bit stressy, it doesn't make for a productive working environment.

I was really enthusiastic when I came back, and now I'm just wishing I could be anywhere but here.

reastie don't worry about A and DH, they must be just out on a walk or something.

Ledkr lost tap shoes, are they Lost or just lost...for now? I remember thinking my Mum would actually murder me if I lost my tap shoes when I was a kid, but I don't know if that was because they were v expensive & precious, or if we were just always skint.

D

debka · 13/01/2012 15:12

reastie go to bed/have a bath/ enjoy your childfree time!!

delia so sorry things are so crappy at work :(

borg uh oh a Lurking DH!! What have we said!! Grin

Re bras I consoled myself with new bras when S gave up, I'd been wearing nursing bras since pg with Imy, barely recognised myself!

Anyone got any advice? S is still waking at 5, 5.30 most mornings and still yawning and mithering when I get her up, obviously still tired. Normally I keep her up as long as possible but today I put her back in bed after about an hour. Any suggestions as to getting her to sleep until a normal hour? She has a nap in the morning and one in the afternoon, about 1.5hrs each.

MizK · 13/01/2012 15:14

I actually posted yesterday but stupid Mumsnet lost it :( so I logged off in a sulk....
wiggles hope DH is home soon, are you fawning over him to make up for the Rennies moment?
emski jel of your lovely Cath Kidston goodies, but well deserved after reading about your mean work colleague? Perhaps the Feb ladies could 'pay her a visit', Sopranos style if she upsets you again? :)
ledkr Ha to the ostentatious ordering of seabass, I'm the same when in a huff! Good luck to Ella with Bugsy Malone, she'll walk it. Shes a pretty, sparky little thing so I cant imagine she'll ever struggle with getting what she wants in life :)
reastie make the most of the quiet! Honestly woman get yourself on the sofa with a magazine!
delia chin up re work, I'm sure things will get better soon x
borg ooh I bet that is so weird DH reading this? I clear my history so DP wont read it and figure out who I am on here.... I'm sure he thinks I have a secret internet porn habit as the history is always meticulously wiped! I think you come across as a v funny sarcastic type, and can imagine being friends in RL - please dont tell me its all an act and you are different in RL :)
Well ladies I had first WW weigh in last night and had lost 3.5lbs, only 23.5 to go and I'll be back to my skinniest weight - although realistically I'd be happy getting another stone off then I'll be just below pre pg weight. Im liking WW so far, hope it lasts....

blizy · 13/01/2012 15:29

Delia- Hmm, I suppose it doesn't excuse horrid behaviour though. I really hope things work out.

Reastie- relax, they will be out for a nice walk.

Ledkr - I hope the tap shoes make an appearance soon, oh and good luck to Ella!

I hope mr w is on the mend and being waited on by nurse wiggles. Grin

reastie · 13/01/2012 15:33

OKcOK, cancel the police search party, they're home. They were planting trees in DHs land down the road Hmm . Honestly, maybe I'm expecting too much but a quick hand written message telling me where they were is all I would have needed to save worrying and I could have found them and spent time with Alice or stayed at work to get stuff done as opposed to dash home. Now I just have a house full of muddy DH shaped footprints all over the house and a VERY hungry Alice who is an hour late for her food Angry

blizy · 13/01/2012 15:33

Oops x post!

mizk Grin at your porn habit!

Hi deb, sorry I have no advice to offer.

Deliaskis · 13/01/2012 16:19

Deb what does she do when she wakes, does she cry?

americanexpat · 13/01/2012 16:20

reastie - does he not have a mobile? Take a deep breath. DH is probably still getting to grips with being on his own with Alice and didn't think far enough ahead to realise she'd be hungry. I'd be more angry about the footprints TBH. Grin He definitely should've let you know they were going out tho.

deb - sorry, no advice, that's why she started putting L to bed later. He used to have a nap an hour after getting up (that was my shower time) but dropped that one a couple weeks ago.

delia - sorry work is so crap at the moment. The threat of redundancy is very stressful.

MizK - well done on the loss!

I did buy myself a proper underwired bra last weekend to wear to work since I wouldn't need to be getting my norks out during the day unless my colleagues requested it. It looks like I've had implants. Shock Even DH marvelled at them. I'm secretly hoping they return to their normal size.

debka · 13/01/2012 16:36

For those not on FB- mrreastie is now home with Alice!

delia starts with whingeing, swiftly turns to crying.

Emski76 · 13/01/2012 21:21

Delia, it's a shame people think that being stressed is a reason to be rude to your colleagues, that's exactly what the woman is like that I confronted at work this week. Really winds me up. Hope the rest of your day was better.

Reastie, im glad dh and Alice turned up! I would be annoyed at my dh if he did the same.

Miz K, thanx for the offer of you all turning up at my work to sort out la bitch, would love to see her face! Well done on your weight loss!

Deb, Noah wakes and cries a bit at 5.30 every morning, most mornings he grumbles and chats for a while and we can leave him for at least an hour. This week he has been going back to sleep for a while. Altho that could be due to the fact that he had yet another tummy bug. He was sick at teatime yesterday and again at 8.30pm. He seems a bit better today but still whingy and eating only bread, and other dry food. I hate it when he's sick and cried at teatime yesterday when he was sick!
Spent a record time of 3.5 hours at soft play with Ben today, we met a friend and her little boy there, then another friend and her two children turned up so we ended up staying for lunch. Dh got to stay home with the moany Noah!

Off to bed now while dh plays on the X Box. Can't really complain, I bought it for him!

WeAreBorg · 13/01/2012 22:45

Evening,

Glad to her mrreastie has returned from his travels with Alice.
emski I think 3.5 hours at softplay must be a record surely. Hope N feels better soon. I hate the thought of them feeling poorly and not understanding what's going on.
delia really sorry about your work situation, our workplace is bitchy too, I think we need more dishy menfolk around. Actually the blokes are the bitchiest ones! still want fit men at work though
deb american reastie i am desperate for a new non nursing non milk-smelling bra, the boobs can get rather full and scarily veiny at times though so will have to give the low cut tops a miss. Doesn't reastie go to rigby and peller like the Queen?

Lurking DH update, he says "I lurked, I liked, I left", he says he won't read our most privatest inner most thoughts anymore.

Well, going to try to get N to sleep, naturally he's awake still. Work tomorrow so want to sleep now.....
