Ed - if she is layered up you can always remove if he gets too hot.

J finally asleep on me.

MamaMaiasaura · 20/01/2012 21:57

Bb3 happy 4 months to your lovely girls :-)

Scheherezade · 20/01/2012 22:31

Poor baby, mama glad she's settled enough.to sleep. When C gets overtited he gets a poorly tummy. is it colic/wi

This is day 2 of us using infacol and I have definitely noticed a difference, C has hardly chucked up at all.

Scheherezade · 20/01/2012 22:34

Bloody phone. When do we start a new thread?

FuzzzyDuck · 20/01/2012 22:40

When we get to 1,000. I can see that happening 2mrw the rate we chat at!!!

MamaMaiasaura · 20/01/2012 23:36

Scheh -that's good it's settling. Not colic, she gets antsy when she needs a poo, big drama bless her Wink

Got ds2 back to my back snoring and j the other side of me I her cot. I can hear ds1 blowing his nose. I really gobble I don't get it

LittlePebble · 21/01/2012 02:31

BB3 ah four months I can't believe it! Doesn't seem that long but on the other hand it was a lifetime ago!(or two Wink)
Groovy great S has rolled over clever girl.
mama hope dc's get better
scheh we use infacol and I really notice when I forget for a while
edward it was me asking about midwife programme, didn't know there was a book might have to get that. It's amazing isn't it the difference in medicine and living conditions - is it set in the forties? My dad was born around when it's set I think.
E has done another 6hr stretch tonight with no calpol and no bottle just boob Grin trying to keep him awake long enough now to fill him up again but he's having none of it one boob and he's gone.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 21/01/2012 02:46

Yeah the book is also called call the midwife and it's all based on Jennifer worth's memoirs it's really good! Its set in 50s when we were on our knees after the war.

CheshireDing · 21/01/2012 03:11

Gosh P has been awake every hour :(

When she is in the sling she just wears whatever clothes she has on for the day and a hat and a cardigan/thin jacket. She is always hot though. There is no way she could wear a pram, she would be boiling.

CheshireDing · 21/01/2012 03:12

wear a pramsuit I mean. Clearly she would not wear a "pram" Grin

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 21/01/2012 05:15

M has been up 3 times tonight so far am exhausted!

Would her feet/legs not get cold though if no pram suit?

LittlePebble · 21/01/2012 05:23

What's with all these naughty babies? I'm up again after an hr with him at 2.30 he lasted about 11/2hr dp tried to settle but no so back on the boob.
Hope you get some sleep Cheshire and edward xx

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 21/01/2012 06:19

Thanks pebble but no chance of that lol DS is up for the day now and dh isn't home so that's me up Sad
Hope the rest of you with naughty babies get some sleep. I'm thinking it must be a growth spurt.

CheshireDing · 21/01/2012 07:23

Nope, still feeding :( (although DH said he will get up at 8am for the chickens) so I can theoretically go to sleep. Usually by morning I have just given up. Is anyone else sometimes glad once the night is over?

P's hands and feet are inside the sling - we have this one

www.storchenwiege.com/

So it is very snug around her. I don't know if the harness type slings would mean their arms etc are outside the sling so maybe for those types they would need more layers.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 21/01/2012 07:31

Am on phone so can't link but I have the close parent one, which is really similar except feet hang out the bottom.

My eyes feel like they're filled with sand!

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 21/01/2012 07:37

Sling isn't an issue now anyway given the weather I'll just use the pram Grin

MamaMaiasaura · 21/01/2012 08:04

Ed - we have closer sling too. The outer wrap helps a bit but agree their little feet dangle.

FuzzzyDuck · 21/01/2012 08:25

S been up twice through night as well. Awake for the morning sometime around 7am but I just couldn't open my eyes! I put her mobile on and she was happy chatting away to that. God, iv gotten so used to her sleeping a full night that I struggle big time when she wakes!!! Sad

Scheherezade · 21/01/2012 08:41

Another naughty baby here! He woke for at 1 and 5, and just now. He was actually very well behaved at least.

I woke at one point absolutely drenched in sweat, don't feel poorly so don't know what the matter is.

Poor you ed can you catch a nap at some point?

sassy34264 · 21/01/2012 09:28

eva was up at 1 and 5 too. fed her even though she wasnt crying at 7.45 and then went for a run. was out 45 mins and she cried the whole time! oops. dp handed her over and she stopped immediately -little sod. Smile
he's gone to wrestling now (we are a bit of a tag team on sat morn) and ive got to have bath while eva crying and chloe watches twins. could just get up earlier and the dp will still be here, but sod that! i get up to an alarm 5 days a week as it is.
eva of course cried all through the fastest bath ever- groan. and ive just fed her again. how hungry can 1 baby be!!!!! Grin
right, she is asleep at last and im stark naked lying on the bed! going to get dressed and start breakfasts for everyone.
got the worst room in the house to clean today- the kitchen.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 21/01/2012 10:17

Unfortunately no nap for me I have a walk at 12.30 to raise awareness for cervical cancer and dh ended up staying at my mums (who is close to his mates) but he didn't get to her house till 4am so he is now in bed hungover while I get both kids ready and get out for my walk sigh.
mama do u put pramsuit on with sling?

Engelsmeisje · 21/01/2012 10:29

hope you all managed to get some sleep.
back on the dream feed at 10/11 as it means I get a bit more shut eye M did a 6 hour stretch last night). we were super lazy today - I didn't get out of bed til 9.30.

Envy at going to New York bb3! I read anything and everything and DH also gets annoyed when I have my head stuck in a book. Haven't read Vampire diaries - have the first 2 waiting on my kindle.

well done at going for a run sassy. Chucking it down here so going to put it off as long as possible wait until it stops.

have a good weekend everyone.

SconesForTea · 21/01/2012 10:37

Scheh I don'y know if anyone else has suggested this but you're almost certainly entitled to Maternity Allowance if you can't get SMP. Look it up on DirectGov and apply straight away as they will only backdate it for 3 months (I'm on MA so know all about it Smile).

Also I'm a SAHM after being made redundant during ML with DD1 and I do not see myself as a drain on DH's resources. If it weren't for me he wouldn't have two beautiful children, I am a very loving wife Wink not to mention all the bloody hard work I do in the home - he lived in squalour before I moved in and now our house is clean and tidy (most days), his washing is done for him and his dinners are cooked for him. I'm not a domestic slave (or try not to be), he does the washing up and all the DIY-type jobs and he gets up with DD1 in the mornings so I can have an extra hour in bed. I work every bit as hard as he does, it's just unpaid (and often unseen and unappreciated) work.

Oh and I'm not that into 'playing' with DD1 either! I do like reading to her but even that can get trying when she wants the same book over and over and over (toddlers do love repetition don't they). Whereas DH loves playing with her and doesn't seem to get bored.

Right will catch up with the thread now

FuzzzyDuck · 21/01/2012 10:40

Ed, when I had s in carrier, I had her in some jeans with tights on under and socks on her feet and some wee boots. She had long sleeve vest, top and really thick, fleecy lined wooly cardi and a hat. I only managed to half zip my jacket up but her feet and arms were inside my jacket so they kept warm. If she isn't gonna be inside ur jacket, I think a normal layer of clothing and a snowsuit (are they same as a pram suit?) would keep her toasty! I've not been outside yet but it's quite windy here, but sun is trying to get out and I can see some blue sky! Have fun!!

SconesForTea · 21/01/2012 10:46

BB3 that book was recommended in a magazine I was reading, maybe Ill get it I love a tear-jerker.

yy to vintage Jilly Cooper Engels Wink

Just seen that you're already getting MA Scheh that's good. It's at the same rate as SMP after first few weeks anyway.

I leave DD2 to cry a little if it's just a fretful, whiny cry. If she's upset I get to her as quick as I can, although sometimes she just has to wait if I'm changing DD1's nappy or something. Often with the fretful cry, she'll stop in a couple of minutes anyway. It's a revelation to me as I never let DD1 cry - I just couldn't bear the sound. DD2 settles herself to sleep without a dummy or boob and sleeps through the night. DD1 has always had a dummy, and still wakes once or twice a night. So...... maybe they are just two different children, or maybe my mum was right when she told me not to rush to DD1 every time she cried. (Would never tell her that though.)
