Well, mine is anyway .
Here it is - a new thread to celebrate the new year with our babies.
Back later - I'm on the laptop at the mo and find it tricky to use smaller keyboard to type.

LOL at mrsd's dreadful prolapse Grin. Glad you finally had the photos done though.

Well, I haven't posted in ages due to an awful d&v bug that the kids got the week after our holiday which has taken ages to clear up but we have been better now for a while and ds2 is putting back on all the weight that he lost (a whole 1 lb) and eating normally now so I can finally take a break from mopping (children and floors!) and post.

MB, sorry to hear about your childcare probs, I hope you manage to sort it out soon though.

Hub, nice to see you back on hear again and @ mountain buggies Grin. I hope you enjoy your visit to the sunny north west. We haven't been to Liverpool for ages but dh used to work there. If you happen to be anywhere National Trustish near to me when you are up then do let me know and maybe we could all meet up too? Although having said that I'm unsure of how I will manage to keep all 3 of my little terrors under control in fact if we do ever meet it may put you and DW off having more children for life Grin. Lovely to hear about how dd is getting on - ds2 has been saying dada for a while now which is really nice to hear Smile.

Daf, I hope you managed to survive your trip to Ikea on Saturday - dh and I have learnt from bitter experience on that one I'm afraid and hardly ever darken its doors these days.

ds2 is busy dragging himself around on his tummy now and this morning I found him on his hands and knees in a crawling position in his cot so I don't think it will be long before he will get going properly.

Anyone thought of a good thread title for a new one yet? Scrolling is a nightmare on our laptop.

Mrsd, before I forget, I don't suppose I could tempt you to a trip to the Trafford Centre/Manchester on Friday could I? Just a thought as it's my last free day before the whirlwind that is ds1 breaks up from school! Smile.

had a go on that mountain buggy today BP. it really does run like a roller over the evil streets of camden. yes heavy, put somehopw less hard work to push than my micralite, of which i am heartily sick, as it is neither fish nor fowl.

How about:

July 2005 Babies Spring Forth
July 05 babies teeth and it's spring SPring SPRING
July 2005 babies - have we all planned their birthdays yet?

:)

We don't mind the hosepipe ban down here I've decided. We can use my son to spray the garden wet. PPPfffffffttttthhhh.

mrsdarcy · 03/04/2006 23:38

Thanks for the recipe Merryberry Smile.

Bagpuss, the boys break up at 2pm on Friday and DH is busy all week so I'll be stuck here I'm afraid. Any chance of you being free either of the weeks surrounding Easter or will you be wrestling with all of your lot? The boys are in holiday club and it runs 8 - 6 so I'm going to have a couple of long days out and Manchester would be great for one of them Smile

I have a new niece and she is gorgeous but made me very aware of how big our babies have grown. Also the princess in me was a little sad no longer to be the mother with the new baby, getting all the attention Blush. Oh well, as I say to the boys when they get in her face "she's not a toy, she's a person"!

Bagpuss30 · 04/04/2006 07:38

Oh no mrsd, I neeeeed someone to help me buy shoes Grin. 2pm is early - gosh I hope it isn't the same for ds1. Actually dh is taking some time off around easter so I may be able to escape at some point as he is planning on spending some time in our garden which is starting to resemble a paddy field just recently. I'll let you know of the dates and perhaps we could work something out?

Understand the new baby thing completely too. My nephew is 3 months old now and is still little and cute etc etc. People keep asking me when ds2 is going to be 1 !! I'm not quite ready for the toddler thing yet - can't he be a baby for a bit longer?

MB, why are you fed up with the micralite? We had a look at one before we went away (I was tempted - it was red) but dh ended up buying a Zapp which is rather good as it takes up so little space in the boot but was a bit like pushing ds2 in a giant roller skate Grin.

well, because it doesn't quite cut it as a rough terrain chariot and neither does it quite cut it as an urban stroller: i think everything boils down to the placing and strength of the front wheels, which can catch in kerbs and make old ladies tut. even though its narrower than many wheel bases, the perception is that those splayed front wheels take up space. i hate getting on buses with it.

anyway, it is feather lite, folds down so easy and is nicely ventialted for summer. roll on summer...

hub2dee · 04/04/2006 08:57

I am the Ambassador for the Mountain Buggy International Corruption and Appreciation Society and yesterday mb was swayed by dd's buggy.

Grin

It's much heavier than the micralite, but it feels sturdy, it doesn't tip back at the first puff of wind, and you can walk across grass in a park or through a wood and it won't shake to bits. They are a bit large though, but fitted in our Saab convertible (almost non existant) boot no prob. Oh, and the wheels have bearings.

'Twas nice to see you yesterday MB, thank you for your hospitality. I hope Camille impressed upon Vin the need to eat in a gentleman-like manner with one's spoon, LOL.

Whereabouts is your old dusty bookshop Bagpuss ? Grin We are staying for one night in Stamford if that is anywhere near !

mrsd - Booked at the Hope Hotel ! They're doing a special rate on rooms around Easter ! Yay ! OK, wanna get together on Wednesday 12th or Thursday 13th ? We've got a family do on the night of the 12th (which is why we're in town), but I'm not yet sure of our ETA, so maybe the Thursday is better ? Bagpuss - wanna come to Liverpoooooooool ?

Eulalia · 04/04/2006 11:12

Mrs D - your post made me laugh! :) Hope the pics come out OK.

sorry to hear all the Bagpusses have been ill.

It's not fair why is my ds crawling everywhere and he's the youngest on here.... I met a baby the other day who is 10 months and just sits there not moving at all. At this rate my ds will be walking ... nooooo... he's behind in the teeth dept though - no signs yet.

Agree with a new thread. What about quite simply July 2005 Babies Crawl into Spring. Doesn't ahve to be terribly witty does it? May start one myself if I get a chance later.

Bagpuss30 · 04/04/2006 14:13

Eulalia, ds1 crawled at the same age as your ds2 and I thought it was great then but it is a mare when you have three kids going off in different directions I agree Smile. ds2 is semi mobile but gets really frustrated if he can't get to something and also if he manages to get something he shouldn't have and it gets removed!

LOL, Hub, Mountain Buggy Appreciation Society indeed! My dusty old shop is in Cheshire but closeish to both Stoke-on-Trent and Manchester. Liverpool would be OK for me but the date I'm not sure about so I will have to get back to you on that.

MB, I don't think I've found any pushchair that is actually any good for all situations although the Maclaren we have comes pretty close, trouble is its so booooring.......
