Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
debka · 13/12/2011 21:25

TARLIA Hello!!

reastie you're not missing much with the ninky nonk...

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 13/12/2011 21:27

How are things going?

WELL DONE DEB Grin . Re: masterchef I think Ash will win too. I find watching him bizarre though as he is like DHs doppleganger - honestly he looks more like DH than his own brother does Shock Hmm

Just looked at that link Shock

debka · 13/12/2011 21:32

Ha ha! Does DH also have a slightly annoying Aussie accent? And can he cook like an angel?

debka · 13/12/2011 21:33

(slightly confusing having 2 conversations with you at the same time reastie!!)

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 13/12/2011 21:38

< very very confused having dual convo too> Angel? Eh? Have I missed something?!

deb believe me, an annoying aussie accent I think is preferable to his eastenders style mumbles and grunts Shock

janedoe25 · 13/12/2011 21:50

hope all is well with you and z, good to hear from you.Grin

Wow Debka! Super well done!!!!!!!! You are doing great girl GrinGrinGrin

wigglesrock · 13/12/2011 21:58

Well as usual I'm lost with all the cooking malarkey talk Grin

Tarlia Hiya, come back when you've had a nosy and give us all your news.

debka well done you big skinny malink

reastie you'll have to get the lack of CBeebies sorted out, you'll never get through years 18 months to 3 without Justin, Chris, Pui, Mister Maker etc Grin

ponyo In the Night Garden passed Sofia and Olivia by, it started just as they got too old for it, but my friends daughters absolutely love their In the Night Garden toys especially the Upsy Daisy bed Grin

emski good underwear ? - a suggestion not an actual question Grin

MizK · 14/12/2011 12:14

Wow deb even more weight off, well done you! Think of all the gorgeous new clothes you'll be needing soon..... :)
ponyo Is it wrong to actually envy you being able to distract A with Cbeebies? If only. Cass wants continual adoration and attention from at least one person at any given moment!
Swit swoo at wiggles schmancy new Christmas hair!
Am planning on having a good nosey at my new MN facebook friends photos later, but am bit worried if you do the same to me - I fear that most of the photos of me are drunken antics....
Cass is def teething, had three horrendous nappies to change today, bleurgh. I have to take her to Joe's Xmas play tonight so hope she behaves. He is playing George Harrison, I kid you not. Furthermore he begged for the role, telling his teacher that George is the coolest Beatle even though he's dead. I loathe trendy school plays, reminds me of the lobsters in Love Actually!

Emski76 · 14/12/2011 13:06

First of all, yuk Debs!!! I have managed about 1 pound since Sunday!! I just look so bloated at the moment! COuld be all the veg I'm eating!
Wiggles, I'm always curious aboout 'control' underwear, where does all the fat go??
Luckily I have two dresses to choose from. One for a fat day and one for a thin day.

ITNG, and Iggle Piggle are adored in our house too. Noah will sit still for the music then gets bored, he has a talking Iggle Piggle which he loves though. Your not missing much Reastie, it is nonsense, but the little ones do love it.

Deb, a big hoorah to you for hitting 2.5 stone, thats bloody amazing!!
And ooh, ref the implant, what does the nurse mean by sorting it out???

Miz K, I have to say that I had a nosy at your pics and did think 'wow, she's got a good social life!!'. Your little ones are very cute though.
Joe is playing George Harrison in his nativity?? How bizarre!!

Reastie, I love helping out at Rainbows and have just started my leadership qualification. It is quite hectic trying to get there and sort out meetings and things but luckily dh has the boys, except if he's away with work. I didn't know you helped out at Brownies.

ILovePonyo · 14/12/2011 16:30

Hello all, well you will be impressed I have made some teacup candles for xmas presents today with the set I got from ebay, I have also made an official "to-do" list for xmas - organisation is go!

Grin at all the in the night garden stories, deb the stupid song gets stuck in my head all night grr.
MizK I have to say it is nice being able to entertain A with the tv Grin then again I never said I would have a none-tv-watching-baby so thats fine haha. Poor old C teething, they have Ashtons and Parsons teething powders in a pharmacy in hyson green if you need them, they seem to have sold out everywhere else Hmm

reastie could you have a look on ebay and see if anything similar is selling and for how much? I'd love to buy one but am skintio boo. Shame about baby sensory - any interesting stories from the past few weeks I have missed hearing about it!

to tarlia - hope you are all well :)

Right am off to potter and drink tea tidy up before dp brings A home, back later

hub8allthemincepies · 14/12/2011 17:56

have been lurking but not posting, sorry. I have 2 poorly kiddies. Freya has a stonking cold and refuses to be put down (11pm last night she finally slept, till 3 when she ended up back in our bed). Thomas has the chicken pox AGAIN. Not impressed. Had to go to emergency docs last night as he was breaking out. He had it really mildly when he was 16months but now has it everywhere (up his nose, in his ears, on his todger) it's relentless. How do you stop a 3yr old boy from scratchin his willy?

Well done you deb 2.5st is an amazing achievement. You'll soon be a waif of a woman :)

Freya like ITNG we've got her an iggle piggle for xmas.

wigglesrock · 14/12/2011 21:03

hub8allthemincepies poor, poor Tom, I had a miserable time with chicken pox when I was a littley. Have you tried Piriton to help him sleep/soothe the itching?

MizK hope you enjoy the play Grin Ps Joe has great taste, George is indeed the coolest Beatle - Mr W is a big George fan Grin

emski 2 words for you - back fat Grin

Spent the morning in M&S with my Mum, sister and Anna doing a bit of Christmas shopping. My sister decided to finish work this week, she was supposed to finish after Christmas but is just too big, uncomfy and its her works busiest time so she's about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

Have final dentist appointment in the morning and then off to see Sofias nativity play, am bringing Anna and Olivia and my sister with me so lots of scope to be the parent with the crying baby/heavily pregnant sister/4 year old asking where babies come from etc. I fully expect there to be a thread about some selfish woman who had the audacity to bring younger children to a play put on by 6 year olds tomorrow Blush Grin

ledkr · 14/12/2011 21:56

WIGGS Dilly attended her first nativity play last night, she was abit annoying trying to get down to crawl about the church but then noticed that if she pulled faces over my shoulder at the row behind they all laughed, kept her quiet for hours.
HUBBS Ive had chicken pox twice too.
deb well done on the weight loss, you are really doing well. I cant stick to anything at the moment, they pace is so fast and the bloody weather is atrocious. We walked back from church last night and the rain cover nearly blew of the pram.I threw my umbrella straight in the wheely bin on my way into the house.
Its Ellas first night tomorrow. Her twatty dad and the ow are going to watch her and we are going on Saturday. I am tres excited,i caught a glimpse of her in one of her dresses yesterday,i had to catch my breath she is so gracefull and dainty-not at all like me-she has been a bit of a prima donna tho,dh and i have decided to let it go for now but normal service will be resumed asap.
mizk I cant do face book due to that very issue.I still ,managed to crop up in random strangers pics tho, usually dancing drunkenly Grin We are out tomorrow and Saturday,i cant actually be arsed tbh,its too cold and wet.

jane just let xmas pass by,you have bigger things to think about, enjoy the time off and hopefully this will be your year honey xx

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 15/12/2011 07:45

morningr all,

lost internet connection yesterday Angry and spent an HOUR on the phone to bt with a moaning baby in the background for them to finally tell me I either needed to renew my contract with them for a year or pay £60 to have it fixed Angry Angry . Anyway, this morning it miraculously works fine Hmm

We are flu central here Sad . DH came down with it yesterday and is home today - only ever known him to take half a day off ill since knowing him so I know he must be bad. I'm being nursemaid to him but trying really hard to keep Alice clear as I really don't want her to catch it - just wait - I bet come christmas we will all be shivering around the christmas tree Sad .

wiggles good luck e: dentist (and play) and love the choc fireguard comment

ledkr can we have piccies of ella all dressed up when you can please? Bet she is a great dancer Grin like her mum

hub hope the poorly ones get better soon - did I imagine it or has Freya already had the pox?

ponyo v impressed re: candles - were they easy to make?

mizk george harrison? eh?? how can they get that into the nativity? Is it a wink to the fact he funded the 'life of brian' film or something (all I can come up with). He is IMO an underrated beatle

ems yes I was tawny owl pre preg. I think delia might have been/be a tawny too Grin

janedoe25 · 15/12/2011 09:23

ledkr Grin at Dilly's attention seeking. You will be glad when Ella finishes up with her show.

reastie Hope the bugs pass you and Alice by. Oh and get well soon Mr Reastie.

wiggles when is your sister due?

ledkr · 15/12/2011 10:40

reastie I remember when id had ds3.He was a few days old and dh and ds1 and 2 got d and v. It was so bad.I was breast feeding and used to pry really hard i wouldnt get it or ds3.Ds2 got taken to hospital with it. I had to drive a week after a section to visit him and be at home to look after everyone else.
I didnt even bother going to bed just lay on sofa seeing to baby and all the shitty sheets and vomit bowls.Ill never forget it but strangly i never caught it which is weird.I also had one xmas ill with throat infection.I had to get my Mum to pick up the boys or they'd have had no xmas.
We have dh's xmas do tonight. Some moron has booked a table for 6.30 ffs.Who goes out at 6.30?grrr.

Dills has slapped cheek i think, shes ok,bit ck=lingy tho.She just watched pepper pig and was smacking her lips when they were eating doughnuts haha.

ChestnutsREASTIEingOnTheFire · 15/12/2011 13:18

Gosh ledkr what a horrible time re: d&v Shock . I'm trying to keep DH away from us but fear the damage germ wise has already been done, so either we'll be lucky or in a few days Alcie and/or I will be suffering Hmm . Enjoy the christmas do Wink . Hope Dilly improves.

Alice is making me Grin as she's started crawling like a drunk dog - sort of sticking one leg out straight as she goes. She started doing it when her dress kept getting in the way of crawling the other day and seems to have kept the technique Wink

V bored today. Thank goodness sister reastie is coming home from uni today - someone new and exciting for Alice to play with tomorrow Grin

Re: school etc nativities - do they generally just do one performance on one day or do parents get options? I only ask as I was thinking on the nativity comments here and how that will be Alice in a few years time, and then how absolutely miserable I would feel if the performance was on a day I work and I had to miss it (us teachers can't choose our holiday days)

wigglesrock · 15/12/2011 19:33

ChesnutsReastieing.. Sofias school has one day time and one evening performance per play Grin

Well dentist was feckin' awful. Had expected it to be much easier than the previous appt but no, he kept saying "sure while I'm here I'll just ....." Seriously one of the most painful half hours of my life, we were also running late so it was a mad dash to get to the show but we all made it.

It was fab, Anna was great ledkr she moaned a bit when I wouldn't let her crawl up to the stage Shock but she then discovered lots of grannys sitting behind her Grin. My sister wept the whole way through it Blush, she's a tad emotional

jane she's due on 3 Feb but we calculated her date as 24 Jan. The hospital counts 42 weeks not 40. I know its her first but I don't think she'll hang about until then.

ILovePonyo · 15/12/2011 19:59

Oh wiggles well done making through the horrors of the dentist :( Haha at A and the grannies, and your sis crying Grin

reastie I have made 2 more candles today its pretty easy to be honest, a bit scary melting the wax (double up - like melting chocolate) and I've still got half of the wax left to make some more. You have made me think that dp won't be able to come to A's school plays too - oh no! I'll prob be a blubbing mess when she's in any sort of nativity so will need him there...

hubbard hope your poorly babies are getting better.

ledkr aww at D and peppa pig. What is slapped cheek- is it teething related? Saw you on TIE thread btw :)

Well today I've been at home (and ikea and B&M) with A, it felt weird b'cos for the past few weeks I've had dp at home with me after his op - I felt a bit "oh no" about it but don;t know why Hmm I sorted myself out though and we've had a nice day, especially A who had some choc biccies Grin despite being off the rest of her food and bottles Hmm

janedoe25 · 15/12/2011 20:20

Have you seen this www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/a1364176-what-the-actual-is-that-facebook-like-button-doing-there#29010528 ?

I am not happy about this.

wigglesrock · 15/12/2011 20:25

jane I know I literally have just read it. Not happy either. I'm not on fb but can you tell me - does it mean that my comments can appear on someone elses facebook page if they choose? Really really unhappy if thats the case - I know its pretty unlikely but I'd be well and truly screwed re Mr Ws job Sad

janedoe25 · 15/12/2011 20:32

Oh Shit wiggles I forgot about his job! yes you are right. Although before anyone could have cut and pasted a link onto fb (imo not many people done this as most cant be assed), but with this you can just click the button and wham the whole thread will be linked onto a fb page.
Im afraid if this button stays I may well leave. Sad

ILovePonyo · 15/12/2011 20:47

Oh no wiggles and jane - I had missed that page until you linked, I don't like the idea of it really, jane can I ask why you would leave? You can't! Wink

janedoe25 · 15/12/2011 20:54

ponyo I have posted lots (in the bereavment and angel mothers ttc boards) about my feelings and for help when I am struggling to deal with my grief. I now don't feel safe in doing so, i am too frightened that I will be outed in rl. I really don't want to leave, MN and you guys have been a complete life saver to me, i dread to think how I would have coped without all of the support from here.

ILovePonyo · 15/12/2011 21:05

jane I understand where you are coming from :( It would suck so much though if you left because mn havn't got rid of a stupid fb button that by the looks of that thread, no one wants. Could you message mn about it?
